Night had fallen over the city of New York City. You would think that we were taken a night off with no such luck. Ava had chosen to start training with us well training for Ava, practice for us. The three of us were training while the guys were practicing.
"Watch your left," Alex said as she swung her sword,
Ava narrowly avoids, par her own sword.
"Good," I shouted spinning and threw my own blade. "Again."
As the Guys were practicing, Leo had a bit rougher, and harsher to everyone and it was getting annoying. Alex had tried to get Leo to talk about but he was harsh towards her. It made Alex keep her distance from him.
"Watch your feet," Alex said before Ava landed on her butt. She offered her hand to Ava. "You're getting better, we just need more training."
"But I thought being a demigod I would be better than this," Ava groaned.
"It takes time to get better at it," I said.
We glanced over to see Leo, Raph, and Don were fighting like crazy. Mikey was missing of course.
"Where's Mikey?" Ava asked.
Alex and I shared a looked.
"Hiding." We said.
"Again!" Leo ordered making Don and Raph started to fight harder. "Michelangelo!"
Mikey appeared reading the newspaper.
"Or not," I said.
Leo grabbed Don's Bo staff and took out both Raph and Don. He jumps and cuts the newspaper in half. Seeing that the newspaper was talking about Angels are real.
"Hey I was reading that," Mikey said.
"You're supposed to be training," Leo growled.
"I was doing mental exercises," Mikey said. "You know reading little symbols on paper. They make words. Words form sentences."
Alex giggled in response.
"Mikey didn't you learn anything from your battle nexus rematch," Leo questioned. "We have to be ready all the time."
"Ah young Leonardo," Mikey said. Placing both of his hands on Leo's shoulders "Remember what Master Splinter says worried leads to fear, fear leads to anger, anger leads to worry," He started to walk away from Leo. "No hold on fear leads to anger, anger."
Alex poke and pointed up when we saw winged humanoids flying above us.
"Ah, Guys?" I questioned.
"Anger leads to hate, hate leads to a" Mikey said leading against a pigeon crop. "A dark and moody Leo."
Somewhat came flying and crashed into the pigeon crop. Mikey jumps out of the way. Cautiously walk to the rumble and smoke.
"What the shell was that?" Raph asked.
Two winged humanoids appeared from the smoke and rumble, there hovered above us. I pushed Ava behind me, the two-winged humanoids were fighting. It was a weird sight to see even for us Demigods and the Guys.
"What are those things?" Ava asked pushing herself away from me.
"Not sure to say the least," I muttered.
"A kindly one of some kind?" Ava asked looking at Alex.
"Not sure," She said.
The two winged figures hovered over us.
"So who do we help?" Don asked.
"We're gods among insects," The black-winged one said. "You always refuse to see that."
"That guy certainly doesn't sound too friendly," Mikey said.
The white-winged one flipped the black-winged into a water house.
"Maybe we should take them both out." Both Leo and Raph said.
"Oh, Gods." Alex groaned.
"Man one turtle with titude was bad enough," Mikey said.
The winged people started to fight again.
"Your lack of vision will be your downfall," The black-winged growled. "Old friend."
He came flying at us, pushing Ava down. The black-winged knocked him into the brick wall.
"Wait a minute, it can't be I don't believe it," Mikey said lifting the newspaper.
"What?" Don asked.
"That guy with the wings he's the guardian angel," Mikey said.
"Who's the what?" Don asked.
"You should really read a paper once in a while," Mikey said holding the newspaper up. "The guardian angel is all the rage, he's the new superhero in town a highly secretive good guy that goes around saving people."
Don took the newspaper.
"Yeah the papers are the ones that gave him the name," Ava said standing right next to Mikey.
"Uh Guys," Alex said.
We turned to see that the black-winged had landed in front of the white-winged.
"And right now he needs my help," Mikey said. "This is so cool."
"The black-winged walked closer to the white-winged one.
"And now it's…" The black-winged said. A cry of pain, gripping the base of my kusarigama. "Time to see how you like living without your wings, old friend." A spark came from the wings.
Mikey ran headlong.
"Turtle Titan to the rescue!" He yelled attacking him.
Sending the black-winged one away, with Mikey swinging to save himself.
"Wait Mikey," Don yelled "We'll give you a hand."
Running towards him.
"No need turtle titan," Mikey said sticking his hero pose. "Has everything under control," Right as the black-winged came flying and hit the stone. "Oh whoa." Causing him to fall back.
"Mikey no!" Raph yelled.
"No…No," Mikey cried losing his balance and falling back. "Oh, Shell!"
"Mikey!" Alex yelled slipping to the edge, grabbing the back of her shirt to keep her from falling after him.
"Mikey!" Raph shouted.
"No!" Ava cried out.
"Oh no," Don said.
The white-winged figure when flying past us, a single white feather hovered in the air before us. Racing to catch Mikey before kissing the ground. Somehow Mikey saved a few inches from the ground.
"I got you!" I heard the winged guy shouted as there flew up. "Don't worry."
A flash of black and woos as black metallic feathers flew past us.
"What the shell?" Raph demanded.
The white-winged figure cried out in pain and both of them started to fall again.
"Not again!" Mikey yelled.
"Mikey!" Ava yelled reaching.
Both Alex and I pulled her back, there both when flying, somehow both of them crashed landed in bagged trash.
"They both alive at least," Alex muttered.
"Ew, yuck." We heard Mikey.
"They made it," Raph added.
"Where'd the other one go?" Leo asked.
Sharp wind alerted me to behind us. The black-winged figure flew above us, knocking us to the ground, with Alex shielding Ava.
"Mikey look out!" Leo yelled.
The black-winged figure came flying at Mikey and the white-winged figure tackling both of them into the trash bin and wall.
"Enough," I growled.
Alex created a portal for Ava and her, while the rest of us jump down.
"Mikey!" Leo yelled.
"Hang on Bro!" Raph called.
"Now to put a long-overdue end to our friendship." I heard Black-winged said.
"Bring it flyboy!" Leo yelled as he kicked him away from the white-winged dude.
Ava ran past to check on Mikey, Alex pulled her sword out.
"If you got the guts," Raph added.
"Foul creatures," Black-winged said. "Go crawl back into whatever swamp vomited you forth. I have what I need for now." We quickly summoned him. He took off flying leaving us in shock and awe.
"What the Hades was that?" Ava asked.
"Not sure," Alex replied with a shrug of the shoulders.
We turned to look at the other winged figure.
"So what do we do about this guy?" Raph asked.
He looked at us before passing out.
"We should bring him back to the lair," I suggested.
(TL)
Somehow we made it back with the lair with the white-winged figure. Of course, Master Splinter was not happy about it but after we told him everything that happens. He seemed to relax, we carefully lay him down and waited for him to wake up.
"Do you think that he's a mutant?" Ava asked as she and I sat on the sofa.
"Perhaps," I said. "Or a kindly one that doesn't want to kill demigods or humans."
Alex seemed to be deep thought about everything.
"What are you thinking Alex?" I asked turning to face her.
"A lot of things." She replied still looking at the white-winged figure who was still laying there.
A groaned alerted that the winged figure was waking up. Master Splinter and Mikey were watching him like a hawk.
"He is regaining consciousness," Master Splinter said.
We rushed over to see him.
"Where am I?" He asked. "This place is a Y'Lyntians stronghold."
"Yeah well that's a long story," Raph said.
"You're the guy that Papers call the guardian angel," Mikey said happily jump up. "I got all the clippings you're famous for."
"Mikey he just woke up," Alex groaned. "Give him a break."
"You have damaged one of your wings," Master Splinter said gently placing a furry claw hand to his shoulder. "Do not move."
Master Splinter performed some pressure points healing, causing him to groan but started to move better.
"It is much better," He said feeling the muscle.
"I simply manipulated pressure points in your shoulder to redirect the flow of chi in your wing." Master Splinter said.
"Thank you," He said gripping for his headband that was there. "Mephos, the diadem where is it?"
"Uh if you mean your headband," Don said. "That guy with the metal wings took it."
"No!" He shouted. "It will spell the downfall of my people, and with it, Mephos will spark a new civil war, and countless innocent lives will perish."
"Don't seat it Mr. Guardian angel sir we'll just kick tin wing's butt and get your diadem thingy back," Mikey said.
"I cannot ask you to help I am already in your debt," He said. "And where I come from that is no small thing."
"And you save Mikey," Leo replied. "We take that pretty seriously too. We'll help you but we need to know everything." "Very well," He said. "My name is Raptarr, I am an avian." He stretches out his wings.
"I knew it," Don said.
"We were a race of beings created as slaves by the ancient Y'Lyntians many eons ago. Y'Lyntians was a world of wonders through the limitless power of their crystal sun the Y'Lyntians had built a Utopian society far ahead of its time but it had its dark side. We Avians were treated like animals by our cruel Y'Lyntians taskmasters. We were worked like slaves to build their paradise then forced to live apart in a floating cage, so we would not befoul their precious city with our inferior presence. Then one day there was a war the outside world had enough of Y'Lyntians' iron-fisted rule. And so had we the slaves of Y'Lyntians united against our cruel slave masters. The rebellion raged, the irony of ironies. It was our birdcage prison that in the end saved us all. My ancestors managed to free it from its tether as Y'Lyntians finally sank beneath the waves. Salvaging precious fragments of the Y'Lyntians crystal sun," Raptarr said.
"The Avians combined the shards into an incredibly powerful energy core, powerful enough to keep our floating area aloft forever. Their prison had been transformed into a home. My people were free, for centuries we Avians kept ourselves from the outside world. But some believed we were destined to rule over the surface world, not to hide from it. The leader of this movement was my best friend and comrade Mephos. He led his followers in a revolt that pitted Avian against Avian, brother against brother. The war ended with Mephos's capture for his crimes against our people. The Avian council sentenced Mephos to be exiled to the surface world for all time. His wings taken from him."
Ava gave a look of shock at what happened to Mephos.
"Poor guy." She whispered.
"I stay on earth to watch Mephos and to stop his attempts to return to the avian city," Raptarr said. "Living here in your world. I have learned much and have been able to help those in need and I have stopped Mephos's plan several times, but now with my diadem, he will be able to find the Avian city and enter it unopposed the surface world is doomed, imagine a floating city that can only be detected by a crystal diadem, the immense power of the crystal energy core makes the Avian city an unspeakable weapon of mass destruction and soon it will be Mephos to command."
"Damn," Ava muttered as Raptarr finished his tale.
"So that is why he has metallic wings instead of normal wings," I said pointing at Raptarr's wings. "Like your own."
"So what is the plan of action?" Alex asked.
(TL)
"Donny we going or what?" Mikey wined
"We're going prepare to be amazed," Don said pulling off a rag that shows off jet packs.
"Jet pack thingies?" Mikey asked.
"What's so amazing about that hotshot?" Raph asked.
"Why how kind of you to ask," Don said. "Just watch and be amazed." He lifted the jet pack to his shell and click it on.
"Cool," Mikey said.
"I've been working on an upgraded version of the tech pack that can fly," Don said.
"But we still have a problem without a crystal diadem," Leo said. "We won't be able to find the city."
"But your home is a Y'Lyntians outpost," Raptarr said. "Surely there must be Y'Lyntians power crystals here."
"Uh we kind of used them all to help some of our friends," Mikey said.
"It's a really long story," Don said.
"What of the memory crystal?" Raptarr asked. We shared a look of confusion, walking to a pillar and gently touch it. "Let us see, here," We watched in shock and awe as blast green light play through the lair to the ceiling. "It is still here."
A blast of light and a giant crystal appeared, glowing bright and hovered down. Raptarr hovered over and landed in front of the glowing crystal. "Perfect these will do." He turned to face us holding crystals.
"Whoa," Mikey said.
"Where'd that come from?" Raph asked as both walked over.
"I thought I scanned the whole lair from top to bottom for crystals," Don said. "How?"
"It's an Avian thing," Raptarr said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"One problem there I can't go into the sky," Alex said. "The whole Lord Zeus doesn't live his brothers' children being in the sky so I'm to have sat this one out."
"Understood," Leo muttered.
We headed back topside and made it to a rooftop, Ava, Alex, and Master Splinter looked at us. Each of us was wearing a jet pack and crystal, each of us wearing helmets
"Your hospitality has been most generous," Raptarr said and gave a bow. "Thank you, Splinter."
"Be careful my sons and daughter." Master Splinter said.
"Agreed be careful," Alex added.
"Piece of cake sensei," Mikey said. "These things are safe right Donny? You tested them?"
"Uh not exactly," Don said.
"Then this will have to be the test flight," Leo growled flicking the jet pack thing to start. He jumped off and flew up.
"Leo wait up!" Raph yelled and started his own pack.
Don, Mikey, and I started up and flew after them.
Alex, Ava, and Master Splinter disappeared from view.
Crying with joy and awe as we flew through the air.
"Remember the plan," Raptarr said. "Mephos's dire focus should be his own undoing."
"One question," Mikey said. "Are we there yet?"
"Actually yes," Raptarr said and took off ahead of us.
"Wow," Mikey said.
Glancing up to see the city myself.
"You said it, Mikey," Don said.
"Wow," I muttered.
As we flew closer to see it was much like a fishbowl which was shocking. We carefully landed and ran after Raptarr, seeing this new and crazy city.
"I think not Mephos," Raptarr said.
"Remember us?" Mikey asked with a smirk. Making myself roll my eyes. "Well, now we got wings."
Again I rolled my eyes at Mikey, before jump into my own attack.
"Destroy them," Mephos ordered.
The Avians, loyal to Mephos launched themselves at us. We jumped off and attack them. Swinging the chain of my kusarigama on the spears, pulling them away. Giving kicks and sent them flying.
"Wow, we're out of Avians!" Mikey cheered.
Both Raptarr and Mephos argued. Mephos threw Raptarr into the wall and started to fight with each other. Raptarr crashed to the ground, with Mephos grabbing a wing.
"Then you will have to perish," Mephos said. "I see that wing just hasn't had time to heal has it." He elbowed into Raptarr making him cry out in pain and had to have Raptarr crying in pain with Mephos standing on and over him. "This was your big plan Raptarr, fly in here and be defeated by me pathetic."
"Actually the plan was that I'll distract you long enough to allow my friends time to take the key crystal. And it seems to have worked."
Raph holding the key crystal as we landed.
"Lookie what we found." He said holding the crystal which was shining with a green light.
"You dirty surface creatures dare to befoul the sacred crystal key by touching it," Mephos growled. Playing hot potato as he rose to face us. "I will destroy you all."
He grabbed at it, with Leo dropping and passing to Mikey. "You really want it," Mikey said throwing the crystal back and forth. "It's right here. Hurry I'm befouling it by touching it. Lots of befouling going on," Mephos growled and drove for Mikey, who slipped out of the way, Mikey kept moving. "You want it so bad then fetch it."
Mikey throwing the crystal, slipping away, as Mephos zoomed past to get the crystal. It flew over the box.
"I must have the key crystal!" Mephos yelled somehow he catch it, causing him to laugh, yet the crystal starts to create lightning, he looked to see he was too close to the core. "What no I'm too close." He cried out as he starts to be shocked.
Covering my eyes as the light grew and try to mute out Mephos's cries of pain. As the light grew dim, slowly blinking to see the core was back to somewhat normal. Looking up to see Mephos was still alive but very much shocked and pissed.
(TL)
After everything had settled down, Mephos was locked up in a dungeon within the city. Looking over the city with a beautiful sunrise. As we standing before elders and Raptarr.
"Thank you for your help you saved our city." An Elder said with a bow of the head.
"We owe you a great debt of gratitude," Raptarr said.
"You know maybe someday our worlds could you know coexist," Don said.
"Perhaps until then, I trust the secret of our existence, will remain safe with you." An Elder said.
"You have our word," Leo added.
"I only have one request," Mikey said.
"Name it," Raptarr said.
Seeing Mikey holding a camera, he handed it to Leo.
"Somebody takes my picture with Raptarr," Mikey said and ran over to Raptarr.
"Why are you gonna sell it to the weekly weird news?" Don questioned.
"Haha," Mikey laughed. "Nah it's for my superhero team-up scrapbook, why how much do you think they give me for it?"
"With you in the picture," Raph said. "A nickel, maybe less."
Causing all to laugh.
Okay, that end of chapter 80 please tell me what you think but please use Constructive criticism.
