Chapter 1:Ohana means family
Hey guys. I'm back with another story. It is another sad one kind of but I swear my next story (which I'm also working on and so excited to release it) is a bit more light hearted. I added happy scenes which I hope helps. I really hope you enjoy reading this and if you don't then that is totally okay to. Thank you so much for trying it at least. Amy's pov:
I sat on the edge of the bathtub waiting for the seconds to turn into minutes. It was slowly passing by while I waited for the irritating sound that normally comes from my phone every morning to wake me up from my peaceful slumber but this time I couldn't wait for it to go off. It took even slower to get by like it knew it was wanted all of a sudden.
I tapped my fingers impatiently while I could hear the girls on the other side of the door. It felt like Deja vu as I remembered myself in the exact same position almost 5 years ago. Leonard's radiant smile popped up in my mind. I couldn't believe how fast time went by. It was like it was only yesterday I was standing on stage with my loving husband accepting the Nobel prize. Everything changed that day forward.
I stared at the stick lying on the bathroom sink and couldn't believe the power such a tiny thing had. It had the ability to change your life and your future . It was capable of leaving you happy, disappointed, scared or even overwhelmed.
I didn't know how Sheldon would feel about it. I was sure he would be happy about it because he was more eager on the idea than I was but something in the back of my mind kept asking me ,what if he wasn't ? I shook it off as I tried to drown out all the negative thoughts. It will mess up with our work schedule and our routine but imagining this tiny little thing in my arms I couldn't help but smile.
I didn't know what the future would hold which made me scared but I knew one thing and that was that I wanted this.
My thoughts were finally interrupted by the sound I have been so eager to hear. The irritating alarm rang on my phone and I switched it off while taking a deep breath before checking out the life changing plastic stick.
Bernadette and Penny kept pacing around in Penny's and our old bedroom. It was now Rajesh's apartment but he allowed girl's night to be here while the guys night was next door and sometimes he would join us.
I came out of the bathroom and showed no expression on my face. There was no emotion to help indicate if the girls should cry, laugh or scream. The girls stared at me with a confused expression waiting for me to reveal something until a small smile arose while I held up the stick so they could see what it said.
"I'm pregnant" I said as my smile grew even bigger.
We all looked at each other before screaming from excitement and joy. Bernadette and Penny hugged me still squealing.
We walked to the couch and all took a seat discussing how I would tell Sheldon.
"I can't believe Sheldon is going to be a dad. " Penny said.
"You do realise he is already a father to Leonard." Bernadette said looking at Penny confused.
"Yes true but there is a chance this child could be a girl. Imagine Sheldon with a daughter . "Penny said giggling.
"He is actually pretty good with Emma so I'm sure he would be fine with his own daughter if he has one. " I said with a big smile.
" The relationship he has with my daughter will forever creep me out . It is like my child bonding with an alien." Penny said.
"That's my husband you are talking about there Penny. " I said giving her a death glare for a second.
"You know it isn't that surprising to me I mean he has a weird bond with you and Leonard to so it is just ironic by this stage. " Bernadette said laughing.
"I never thought I would see the day Sheldon voluntarily looks after children. So much has changed. " Penny said ignoring Bernadette's comment.
"To baby number 2 for Shamy and baby number 5 for all of us. " Bernadette said raising her glass with juice in it.
We gave a short giggle then raised our glasses then took a sip of our beverage. We heard the infamous three knock pattern on the door with our names being called. I looked at both of them silently and took my fingers to imitate zipping my lips together as it warned them not to say a word. They both nodded and repeated my action then threw away the invisible key.
"Come in Shelly!" Penny yelled.
Sheldon slowly opened the door to only have his worries disappear and his irritation grow.
"You guys okay ? You scream so loud I could have easily believed you guys were being murdered. "Sheldon said sternly.
"Was little Shelly worried about us ?" Penny asked in a teasing tone.
"Honestly Penny I do wish you would stop calling me Shelly. Only my mother can call me that. " Sheldon said getting even more irritated.
"I'm sorry Sheldon . Would you prefer Moon pie instead ? " Penny said with a teasing smile to suite her tone.
Sheldon's eyes were twitching and was about to utter something before I beat him to it.
"I'm sorry Sheldon. You can go back next door and we will try to be a little more quiet. " I interrupted before Sheldon said something he shouldn't and gave a small smile with it.
Sheldon questioned what I was saying for a while then nodded as he gave a smile and walked up to where I was sitting to lean down then place a small kiss on my lips before leaving again . As he was about to leave he saw this tiny little human running full speed towards him. Sheldon bent to his knees and had enough time to open his arms to catch him . The little human crashed into his arms like it was his safe place and Sheldon stood straight up again while the little boy was placed on his hip.
The little boy giggled even more noticing how high he was and also he liked the continuous movement Sheldon was making back and forth.
"I guess the kids are up then " Bernadette stated.
"What an amazing observation Bernadette. I was wondering what this tiny little thing was in my arms. " Sheldon said trying to be sarcastic then smiled at the little boy in his arms.
"Well I must say you are improving with your sarcasm Sheldon but there is no need to be mean. Now I would very much love my son if you don't mind. " I said smiling as I walked up to Sheldon.
Sheldon placed the baby in my arms as I smiled even bigger now. I continued the same movement Sheldon was making.
Penny got up and placed her handbag over her shoulder to only walk up to me. She smiled at the baby on my hip which only made his smile wider.
"Why don't we take you and all your friends for ice cream so we can leave your grumpy dad and uncles to play little one. " Penny said in a baby voice as she pressed her finger on his nose.
Leonard giggled more then screamed in excitement ,"Ice -cream !" .
"Looks like someone agrees with you. "I laughed.
We went next door to get the other children to only be met by the guys trying to keep their children occupied.
"What took you so long Sheldon ?" Leonard asked as he saw us behind him.
"Your wife was spending most of the time teasing me so you can blame her not me." Sheldon said giving an icy glare at Penny.
Everyone seemed to take a seat where they normally do like it was habit.
"Howard please get Halley to put her shoes on so we can take the kids out for ice cream. " Bernadette said watching Howard spin her around like she was a princess.
Rajesh had Michael on his laps until he was given to Bernadette so she could do the same thing for him.
"Emma sweetie, Are you excited to go out with your friends for ice cream? " Penny said with a big smile as she finally met up with her sitting on Leonard's lap and she bent down to her level.
She smiled and nodded then jumped off Leonard's lap eagerly to go to her room to get ready.
"And what about you Leo. Is my little guy ready for ice cream ? " She said again in a baby voice as she still met his height while he was being bounced up and down on my lap.
"I still don't know why you guys call him Leo. Leonard is a perfectly good name and I don't understand why someone has to have more than one name for a child. " Sheldon said again sounding irritated.
"Leo is a nickname that is adorable plus you can tell the difference between my husband and my nephew. You have nicknames to so I don't see what is wrong with it . I think Leo is cute." Penny said rolling her eyes then walking to the fridge to get water.
"Aww buddy , I think that is the nicest thing you have ever said to me. You named your child after me now this . I feel so loved. " Leonard said chuckling now.
"Don't be so full of yourself, Leonard. I was talking about my son and he is named after Leonard Nimoy not you. " Sheldon said .
Emily ran out of her room and Penny placed her on the kitchen counter while listening and tying her shoes.
"Maybe Nimoy was an advantage I have to admit but we all know you named him after your best friend." He said smiling even more then walking up to him to only squeeze his cheeks like a grandparent would and spoke in a baby voice like Penny ,"Because you love me. Admit it." .
Sheldon slapped his hands away gently. Leonard laughed then sat back down again. Everyone in the room was laughing now.
"Face it dude. You love us and you can't take it back now . " Rajesh now chimed in the conversation.
Sheldon's face started twitching while everyone was laughing.
"Looks like Sheldon is malfunctioning again. Amy, your husband needs a reboot. " Howard said after while laughing.
No one noticed Penny sitting back down with Emma. Emma left Penny to run to Sheldon. She looked at everyone in the room with a serious face and held her arms out straight to block Sheldon.
"Leave Uncle Shelly alone." Emma said now in her cute little voice.
Everyone was shocked to hear the little girl speak and Sheldon smiled a little until her words were processed.
"Penny , did your child just call me Uncle Shelly ? " he said looking stern now.
Penny gave a guilty smile then slipped further down the chair as if it would hide her from Sheldon.
"Okay as much fun as this all was ,we better leave you guys alone and we will be back after we picked up the dinner. " I said breaking up the tension in the room.
Everyone agreed and got up to get everyone to the car. Once the children and the girls were in the car it was only me while Leonard was in my arms that was left. I was about to leave but Sheldon met me in the hallway with the door closed so the guys didn't listen in on our conversation.
Sheldon met me for a kiss but it was interupted by a impatient and very eager Leonard in my arms. Sheldon rolled his eyes and I laughed.
"Like father like son I see." I said teasingly.
Sheldon gave me an icy stare then I smiled even more as I placed a kiss on his cheek.
"I will see you both just now. Leo you better behave for mommy. I love you both so much." he said kissing both our foreheads.
"We love you too. You called him Leo."
"You don't ever tell Penny that" Sheldon said in a serious voice.
I did the same thing I did in the apartment. I zipped my lips and threw away the imaginary key. Sheldon just smiled and walked back into the apartment after he watched me walk down.
"Sheldon ?" Amy said in the bathroom while he was behind the door in the room.
"Yes ? Must I get you anything ? "Sheldon asked not quite sure what to do in this situation.
Amy slowly got out of the bathroom then smiled at him. His eyes went bigger knowing exactly what that meant.
"We are going to be parents ?" Sheldon asked just to make certain.
Amy nodded then tears started falling down her face. Sheldon hugged her and picked her up just and inch off the ground to twirl her. Amy just smiled at him even more.
"Do you need to sit down ?" Sheldon asked looking at a nauseated Amy.
Amy just nodded and he slowly walked her to the bed so they were both sitting on the end of the bed.
"Sheldon ? Aren't you scared about this ? Overwhelmed? It is totally okay to be you know because I know change is overwhelming for you and this is most certainly life changing." Amy said worried that Sheldon hasn't shown once any of his worries like normal.
"Yes I'm a little scared but I'm more excited. Being responsible for a life that isn't mind is scary but I know as long as we are together it will be okay." Sheldon said with a small smile as he intertwined his hands with her.
"We will find out together." Amy said with an even bigger smile to only be met with the same smile from Sheldon as she mentioned it.
He squeezed her hand even tighter and she placed her other free hand on her stomach which made her smile bigger and more tears fell down.
"You are going to be such a wonderful mother Amy . I already know it." He said wiping her tears and staring into her emerald green eyes.
"I believe you will be an incredible father to."
Sheldon wrapped his free hand around her back to meet her hand that was placed on her stomach while the other hand was still intertwined on top of each other. Amy rested her head on his shoulder . They stayed like that for a while mentally capturing the moment before it flew by.
I kept remembering the first time I told Sheldon about Leonard as I watched Leonard sleep. We got home after dinner with the group and I decided it was best to send him to bed early so I can continue my plan. I watched a peaceful Leonard sleep until I decided I should leave but I didn't want to.
I kissed his forehead then got up to only get a fright by a Sheldon standing in the doorway staring at us both. I gave a yelp then put my hand on my chest to feel my now very rapid heartbeat.
I hit him lightly on the chest while trying to slow my heart rate down.
"What are you doing standing there ?You almost gave me a heart attack."I said in a whisper trying not to wake Leonard up.
"Long enough to know how beautiful you both look." he said while wrapping his arms around my waist from behind as we both stared at our sleeping child,"I'm sorry Amy,I didn't mean to scare you." he said after then kissed my cheek probably feeling it go red even if we were in a dark room.
"We better leave before you wake up our child. Otherwise you putting him back to bed again." I said pulling Sheldon out of the room then closing the door gently.
"Amy ?" Sheldon called out as we were outside the room door.
I looked at him waiting for him to continue.
"You shouldn't say that I almost gave you a heart attack unless I really did. I know it is a figure of speech but what if something happens to you and I never know because of these crazy figure of speeches you people have."Sheldon said concerned a little.
"Okay Sheldon. I tell you what I won't say it ever again unless you actually almost give me a heart attack. How does that sound ? " I said kindly as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
Sheldon nodded as he continued to stare into my eyes then said,"You know Amy,you really are beautiful. Everyday I wonder how lucky I got to have you as my wife. my wife ,I like the sound of it ." .
Sheldon placed his hands on my waist once again and I couldn't help but smile again.
"I'm pretty lucky to have you as my husband."I said filling the silence.
"I think far from it but if I say anything you might realise that yourself and leave me."Sheldon said.
"If I ever leave you then maybe your mom should send me to the same place she got you tested to check if I'm crazy. " I said still giggling as Sheldon joined in now.
"I need to show you something,Sheldon so come down with me."I said grabbing his hand to pull him down the stairs.
I sat him down on the kitchen counter to only pull out a cupcake from the fridge and placed it infront of him. It was a vanilla cake with blue and pink frosting mixed on it. Sheldon stared at me with confusion and waiting for instructions.
"I want you to eat it but be careful because there is something in it."I said pushing the cupcake more to him.
Sheldon did as I said and bit to the middle to only realise a clear plastic ball in the middle. He opened it in half to uncover a note in the middle. It said:
'Guess who is having another baby?'
Sheldon looked more confused then looked at me again.
"How am I supposed to know Amy? Is it Penny ? Bernadette? It could be a number of people." Sheldon said.
I sighed then said,"Sheldon,It is us. We are going to have another baby." .
I placed the positive pregnancy test on the table to confirm it. Sheldon stared at me with big eyes then left quickly up the stairs. I was a little disappointed at the way he reacted. The tears in my eyes were burning fighting to fall down my pale cheeks. I didn't know what to say or what to do but I didn't expect him to react like this.
I cleaned up and was about to place the cupcake away when he came back down the stairs calling my name.
"What are you doing ?" Sheldon said looking more confused.
I couldn't stop crying now and Sheldon rushed to comfort me not knowing why I was crying. He felt useless and confused.
"Why are you crying Amy?" he said as I was now crying on his shoulder staining his shirt.
"Because... because... you ran off when I told you we were going to have another baby." I said now looking at him sounding a little mad.
"I was getting this." he said lifting me off him to show me what was in his hand.
It was a baby white shirt that has 'we are having a baby' in yellow letters. It was so tiny. I looked at him waiting for an explanation.
"I ordered this online when you were pregnant with Leonard. It sounds stupid but I was hoping to tell my mom and friends about him with this but it arrived late. I always kept it but now I realised it was the perfect time to show it to you . " he said .
"Aww Sheldon that is an amazing idea. Can we do that this time using the shirt?" I said as my tears began to stop.
Sheldon smiled and nodded but as quick as his smile came it faded again and he was staring at the ground.
"I want you to know I would never ever run away if you told me we are having a child or for any reason for that matter. I know I wasn't the best boyfriend and person in the past but I'm trying every day to be the man you deserve and the father Leonard deserves. I would never ever run away again or leave if I have something to do about it." he said holding both my hands in his.
"I know Sheldon. You are an amazing husband and father. I was just scared you weren't happy about this because having two children is not going to be easy."
"It will be an adjustment I must admit but we will find out together. There is nothing we can't face if we are together." Sheldon said as he kissed my forehead then pulled me in for a hug.
" I'm going to have another grandbaby." Mary said back in apartment 4A as she was surrounded by the rest of the group.
She held the tiny shirt in her hands and everyone squealed in excitement. They all said their congratulations and hugged us both. Mary was elevated about it and she hugged us both then immediately ran out to call Georgie and Missy. Sheldon shook his head then laughed.
Once Mary finished,we all decided to give a toast with whatever we were drinking. Whether it was soda,water or juice it didn't matter.
"To another addition to the family." Leonard said with a smile and put his glass in the middle.
We copied what he said and met our glasses with each other to make a clinking noise. We all spent the evening excited for another little one while Penny said that she was going to be the only person in the group with one child now.
We all teased each other and laughed like normal. Sheldon and I never realized that meeting these people that they would turn into family for us . We truly felt so lucky and couldn't ask for better friends.
*couple of days later*
" Hey Ames your phones is ringing." Penny called out from my kitchen.
"Thanks Penny,It is probably Sheldon."I called out as I was getting my phone.
I forgot to check the caller ID but I put the phone on my ear.
"Hello?" I asked making sure it was a voice I recognized.
"Hello. Are you Mrs Fowler?" a woman on the other line said.
I immediately felt a chill go down my spine. I couldn't place exactly what it was but the way the woman spoke made my heart stop a little. Like my conscious knew something I didn't which scared me even more.
"Yes this is she. May I ask who is speaking ?" I replied a little more worried now.

I tried to make this chapter a little cute. Regarding Leo so I tried to introduce Leonard (Shamy's son ) as a character but is nicknamed Leo so most of the time I will be using Leo from the next chapter forward but keep in mind that his name is Leonard. They sound a little younger here but it is because I changed the children's age about 100 times throughout the story but I stuck with Leo being around 4 turning 5 and all the others are obviously older. Also the flashbacks are in third person and italics . Anyway I hoped you liked this chapter and I hope I see you in the next one.
