Just a small one shot... What if Ben broke up with Mal and he regretted it for a year.

Let me know what you think!

Ben couldn't take it anymore. He hated watching her walk around school, and all the guys looking at her. He was the only person that was allowed to look at her, but couldn't. He fucked up. He broke up with her, and he has regretted it for the past year. Why did he decide to break up with her again? She was everything he ever wanted, and they spent two years together. So what was wrong? She is the definition of perfect. She haunted his dreams, or more like his dream girl. They were still friends, or he would like to think they were. Whenever she would walk by him he could smell the rose scented shampoo she used. He could hear her laugh from a mile away, and it was his favorite sound in the world. Well, second. His first was her singing. Whenever she posted a video of herself singing, he could never turn on the audio.

"Ben?" Chad said as he knocked on Ben's door in the castle. "You ready?"

Ben turned to look at his friend, and nodded his head. He was taking a huge step, and one he was afraid to take.

"Come on, man," Chad said as he walked up to Ben and patted him on the shoulder. "You have nothing to be afraid of."

"What if she doesn't want to take me back?" Ben said as he ran his fingers through his hair. "I broke up with her a year ago, and I have regretted it ever since."

"Well, why didn't you try to get back together earlier? Why wait a year?"

"I don't know," Ben said as he started to pace around his room. "I was scared. I didn't know if she hated me."

"Dude, she could never hate you," Chad said. "Even after you guys broke up, she would always make sure that you were okay, that you were taking care of yourself, and that you were sleeping."

"I know, but what if she moved on? What if she doesn't want to get back together? What if she doesn't love me anymore?"

"Well, that's why we are going tonight," Chad said. "Doug said that they are going to be there at 7, and it's 15 till. We have to go," he said.

Ben nodded his head and took a couple of deep breaths, before walking out of his room with Chad in tow. His parents had told him, on multiple occasions, why hadn't he talked to Mal, but he never wanted to talk about it, because the topic hurt too much. They walked to the front of the castle to see Belle standing there, waiting for them.

"Good luck, Ben," she said before she kissed his cheek.

"Thanks, mom," he said as he and Chad left to go to the new nightclub called Enchantment.

When they got there the line was huge, and they didn't see Evie, Mal, Jay, Carlos, or any of their other friends outside. They were about to walk to the back of the line when the bouncer told them that they could just go in. Ben had said that they would wait in line, but the bouncer said he was not going to have the King of Auradon waiting in a line.

Once inside Ben's eye immediately found Mal standing at the bar with Evie. She looked like she always did, utterly and undeniably beautiful.

"Ben! Chad!" they heard Doug call, making them turn to see Doug, Jay, and Carlos sitting at a table and waving them over.

The king and prince walked over to the table, and sat down with the guys.

"What is up?" Jay asked as he wrapped an arm around Ben's shoulder. "It's great to see you out and about, Bennyboo."

"Thanks," Ben said. "It's good to finally be out. I can't wait to get a chance to catch up with all of you."

Jay and Carlos looked at Ben with smirks and acquainted eyes, before Ben looked at them in concern.

"What?" He asked.

"Are you sure you're not here to catch up with Mal and hear her sing?" Carlos asked, making Ben's eyes widen.

"Well… I… umm…"

"Dude," Jay said as he tightened his hold on Ben. "Stop worrying," he said with a slur. "Doug told us why you were coming, and we already knew it wasn't to see this pretty face," he said as he pointed to himself.

"Well, I hate to say you're wrong, but you're not," he said as he laughed at Jay.

"Hey, guys," Evie said as she took a seat next to Doug.

Ben smiled and said hi to Evie, and then looked to see where Mal was, but he couldn't see her anywhere.

"Where's Mal?" Carlos asked.

Evie gave Ben a smile, knowing he was wondering the same thing. She turned in her chair, slightly before pointing to the stage. Ben craned his head and saw Mal standing on the stage with a microphone in her hand. She looked at her friends, before locking eyes with Ben. The eyes he never stopped thinking about. She gave him a smile before the music started playing.

I keep on fallin'

In and out of love

With you

Sometimes I love ya

Sometimes you make me blue

Sometimes I feel good

At times I feel used

Lovin' you darlin'

Makes me so confused

Everyone from the table got up, and started to walk toward the stage, but stopped in the middle of the crowd. Ben kept his eyes on Mal the entire time they made their way through the crowd. He hadn't heard Mal sing in a year, and hearing it now was like the sound of an angel.

I keep on fallin'

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

"You know she misses you too," Evie said, making Ben look down at her. "She was excited and surprised to see you here."

"Really?" He asked.

"Yeah," she said. "She saw you when you guys walked in."

"That doesn't necessarily mean that she misses me," he said as he hung his head.

"Ben, I am her best friend," she said. "Who is she going to tell things to?"

Ben realized that Evie was right. Mal trusted Evie with everything, and he knew Evie wouldn't lie to him about that if Mal didn't feel the same way. He gave Evie a smile, before looking back up at Mal.

Oh, oh, I never felt this way

How do you give me so much pleasure

And cause me so much pain?

Just when I think

I've taken more than would a fool

I start fallin' back in love with you

She sang with such a voice that could captivate anyone who hears her, but it worked on Ben the most. Her voice was the most angelic voice he had ever heard.

I keep on fallin'

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

Oh, baby

I, I, I, I'm fallin'

I, I, I, I'm fallin'

Fall

Ben was standing there while Mal sang. The song was perfect for letting Ben know that she still loved him.

"Go get her," Carlos said as he nudged Ben.

Ben gave his friends a smile, as they nodded in encouragement.

I keep on fallin'

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

He walked forward toward the stage, as Mal was finishing her song. Mal watched as he walked forward, and followed him as he walked to the side of the stage.

I'm fallin'

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

She turned to look at him as she sang. He walked up the steps, and stood on the sides, staring back at her.

I'm fallin'

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

He walked toward her, making her freeze in the middle of the stage. When he was close enough to make her look up at him, he smiled down at her.

What?

Not knowing if she was done with the song, he put his fingers under her chin, and brought her lips to his as the music continued to play. The crowd cheered as Ben and Mal kissed. And when they broke apart, they leaned their heads on each others and smiled.

"I'm sorry I took so long," he said as the crowd continued to cheer.

"It's okay," she said. "You'll always be worth the wait. We will always be worth it," she said, making Ben smile down at her.

"Letting you go was the worst thing I have ever done," he said to her.

"Well, you never did," she told him. "I was always there. I never left. You were too important for me to let go of."

"I love you, Mal," he said as he caressed her face with his hand.

"I love you, Ben," she said before she pushed up on her toes and pressed her lips to his again.

Both Ben and Mal were happy with the way things ended. Together. Just how they were supposed to be.
