Amy couldn't breathe. She needed to get as far away from Sheldon as possible.
Her silent pleas were soon answered when she felt Sheldon loosen his grasp on her. She slowly tried to move away from him.
"Amy?"
Startled, Amy proceeded to fall off Sheldon's bed and onto the floor. "Oof-"
"What are you doing here? In my room?"
"Uh, I-I just came by to check on you... Leonard told me it was okay. I'll be on my way out..." Her voice was an octave higher than usual. She quickly got up on her feet and went to the door.
Just before she could leave, she turned to him. "You don't remember saying anything earlier, do you?"
"No, not at all. Was there something I said?"
So, he was dreaming! "Never mind. I'll be out of your hair. I'm glad you're okay." She rushed out of his room.
Sheldon had no idea of the situation. What was she doing on my bed? He looked at his bedside table and saw that she left him some soup. He smiled at the gesture.
Don't leave me.
I love you.
Amy ran frantically down the stairs and took deep breaths inside her car.
It couldn't have been meant for me... Wake up, Fowler. He wasn't even conscious when he said it!
She hated the timing of it all. Just when she recently acknowledged her feelings for him and told herself she'd push it down for the sake of their friendship, he pulls her back again unexpectedly.
He could've dreamt about his mother, maybe a character he's fond of...
She got her wallet out and looked at the photo of them at the merry-go-round.
She stared at it in pain. "Stop playing with my heart."
Amy arrived at Caltech. Unable to focus on anything the whole morning, she decided to visit Sheldon in his office.
Half of her was glad he was asleep because she wouldn't have been able to handle it if Sheldon actually wanted to cuddle with her.
In what universe is Sheldon Cooper someone's snuggle bunny?
But the other half of her was desperate to find out if his "confession" had something to do with her. If he didn't want her to leave. If he loved... her.
She opened the door to find a woman sorting through Sheldon's belongings. She had straight, reddish-brown hair, and wore a red blouse.
"Oh, hello. Who are you?"
The woman turned to Amy and smiled at her formally. "I'm Alex, Dr. Cooper's assistant. Can I help you?"
Sheldon has an assistant? "I was just looking for him."
"I'm sorry. He called in sick today. Is there anything I can do for you?"
I should've known he wasn't well enough to go to work today. "No, it's alright. When he comes back to work, please tell him that Amy came over."
"Last name?"
Guess he never mentioned me to her... Amy was visibly upset.
"He knows my last name, we're best friends. We shared this office once... Worked together and everything."
Alex lit up. "You did? To tell you the truth, I passed up a job at Fermilab for a chance to contribute to his scientific work. Tell me, what was it like being with a man of his brilliance?"
Why is she so interested?
"Well, he wasn't that brilliant. I mean, it was my idea and his calculations... What was your name again?"
"Alex. Alex Jensen. I graduated from Stanford University with a degree in theoretical physics."
Amy didn't know why, but she was really starting not to like the woman in front of her. She's young, smart, and beautiful. Not to mention, someone who graduated in a field similar to Sheldon's.
Why didn't Sheldon tell me he had an assistant? When did he decide on hiring one? What if they get closer due to their proximity?
Amy wanted to leave. "Interesting. I'm gonna go now. It was nice meeting you, Alex."
"You too, Ms.?"
"Doctor. I'm Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler."
"Dr. Fowler..." Alex gasped. "Are you the Dr. Fowler whose work got published in the peer-reviewed journal, "Neuron"?
"Yes. Yes, I am." Amy started feeling flattered.
"I apologize for not recognizing you earlier. I've read your paper and it was truly inspired."
"Thank you." Okay, maybe I'm starting to like her a little...
"Now, I understand why Dr. Cooper wanted to work with you. I will surely tell him you came over."
Amy said her thanks again and left Sheldon's office.
Amy was invited to eat lunch with the guys in the cafeteria. They started discussing several topics. Amy started asking them about the woman she just encountered.
Amy: Did all of you know about Sheldon's assistant?
Leonard: Yeah. He hired her a week ago.
Amy: How come I only found out about it now?
Leonard: She is a doctoral student here, so you wouldn't have been able to see her around a lot. Also, you and Sheldon had that big fight...
"I see."
"Raj really likes her. If only he could talk to women." Howard remarked. Raj pouted in his seat.
"Oh, right. The selective mutism..."
The four of them spotted Alex looking for a place to sit.
Leonard called her attention. "Hey, Alex. Do you want to join us?
Alex showed an expression of worry. "Um… Dr. Cooper specifically told me not to eat with any of you."
Amy was confused why Sheldon would do such a thing. She turned to Leonard for answers.
Leonard whispered in her ear. "He said, given her station, it wouldn't be appropriate for her to sit with us."
He could be so rude sometimes...
Finding out how Sheldon treated Alex, she had nothing to worry about. At the moment, she just wanted to make up for her best friend's callousness.
Even I wouldn't treat anyone who works for me that way... "It's okay, Alex. Please join us."
"Oh, okay. Thank you."
Leonard was the first one to ask her a question. "So, Alex, what's the topic of your dissertation?"
"I'm looking for Trojan asteroids at Earth's L-Five Lagrange point."
"Oh, that happens to be Dr. Koothrappali's field of expertise. You two have a lot to talk about." Leonard smirked. Raj almost choked on his food.
"Is that true?" Alex looked at Raj expectantly. Amy noticed that it looked like he wanted to pee himself.
She explained the situation to Alex. "Raj has selective mutism. He can't talk to women. He could, but only under the influence of alcohol."
Alex finally reached an understanding. So, that's why he was always so quiet.
"I'm so sorry. I must've put a lot of pressure on you, Dr. Koothrappali. My uncle had selective mutism too. He couldn't talk to children."
"Wait a minute. Had?" Howard interjected.
Alex: Yes. Luckily, after sessions of cognitive-behavioral therapy, he can now talk to them. He actually has his own kids now.
Leonard: Wait, what? You mean, Raj could actually get cured of his selective mutism?
Alex: Well, my uncle told me it took a lot of time, but if we could find out the root cause of Dr. Koothrappali's anxiety disorder, it is possible.
Howard: That's great! Do you know the therapist who helped your uncle?
Alex: I do. She's a family friend of ours. I could recommend Dr. Koothrappali to her if you'd like.
Howard: That would be- Oh, wait. Her...
Alex did a facepalm. She realized her error.
Alex: Oh, right. I'm sorry again. Maybe he could have someone to accompany him? A relative perhaps?
Leonard: His family's in India... What about you, Howard?
Howard: Bernadette and I are kinda swamped with all the wedding planning...
No one was available to help Raj out. Amy thought of an idea.
"How about you accompany him, Alex?"
"Me?"
"Yes. You're a family friend of the therapist, and you have an uncle who had selective mutism. You'd be the best person to understand Raj's condition."
"Hmm... I guess that's true... But what about Dr. Cooper?"
"Don't worry about him, I'll explain everything," Amy reassured her with a smile.
"Alright then. I'll arrange an appointment right away. Can I have his number?"
"Sure thing." Amy placed Raj's contact information on Alex's phone.
"Okay. I guess it's time for me to get back to work. I'll set an appointment with her as soon as possible. It was nice meeting all of you."
Alex had to excuse herself from the table. She left and the three guys looked at Amy in shock.
"What?" Amy furrowed her brows.
Raj immediately stood up and went to Amy to hug her.
"Way to go, Amy. Raj has been trying to get her attention for days." Leonard shook his head in disbelief.
"We should've met you years ago, you're an excellent wingman," Howard replied.
"Hey, I just wanted to help Raj and his anxiety disorder. Asking Alex to go with him was the best option."
Yes, Fowler. You did it for that reason. Not because you want her away from a certain someone...
"So, if all of you are here... Who's taking care of Sheldon?"
Leonard: Don't worry about it, Amy. Sheldon can take care of himself.
Amy: I have a hard time believing that.
Leonard: He can. He just likes ordering others around. Believe me, you wouldn't want to be around a sick Sheldon.
Amy: Why not?
Howard: You just don't. He will make your life a living hell.
Raj nodded along.
Leonard: His obnoxiousness becomes much more catastrophic.
Amy: It can't be that bad.
Howard: Since you helped Raj with Alex, we'd like to return the favor. Follow our advice. Stay on the down-low for a couple of days until he gets better.
Days later.
Penny couldn't take it anymore. Sheldon was being all annoying and obnoxious again. She texted Leonard, asking him when he was going to come home. He replied a little later and told her he was busy with Howard and Raj.
Those geeky bastards! She knew they were just trying to leave her to take care of Sheldon by herself.
She heard Sheldon shout from his room. "Penny, can you place VapoRub on my chest again?"
Kill me now. Penny covered her face with her hands, hoping her suffering would end.
With sheer luck, she heard a knock on the door.
Penny quickly opened the door to find Amy.
"Oh. Hi, Penny. The guys told me Sheldon was all by himself here, so I wanted to check on him and-"
Penny interrupted her with a hug. "Thank God, you arrived! All this babysitting is torture."
So, all the things the guys said were true... "That bad, huh?"
"It's a nightmare. Penny do this, Penny do that, I'm losing my mind over here... Now, I have to put VapoRub on his- Wait a minute." Penny came to a realization and had another idea in mind.
"Hey, Ames. I'm pretty much spent doing all the wackadoodle's chores... Would it be okay if you took my place just for tonight?"
Amy thought it was the least she could do. She also didn't want her visit to be short-lived. "I see no reason to say no. What's the worst that could happen?"
Penny was grateful for Amy's optimism. She felt bad, but she wanted Amy and Sheldon to spend more alone time together to finally get them to admit their feelings. That, and getting the hell away from Sheldon.
"Thanks, Amy! Don't you worry about it. Everything will be fine. Here." Penny handed Amy the VapoRub.
"What's this for?"
"It's for Sheldon. You should give it to him. Tell him it's your turn playing nurse."
"Wait, I didn't sign up for-"
"Bye, Amy! You're the best, love ya!" Penny left in the blink of an eye.
Amy gulped. She regretted her decision already.
"Penny? Where are you?" Sheldon yelled out from his room again. Amy took it as a hint to go to his bedroom.
She opened the door to find Sheldon wrapped under the covers. He looked the same as when she saw him that morning. She could feel herself sweating.
"What took you so- Amy?" Sheldon widened his eyes in surprise.
"Hi. Penny told me she was exhausted, so I offered to help her take care of you."
"I see."
Sheldon felt anxious. Dreaming or imagining her constantly, it felt very bizarre for him to actually have Amy in his bedroom. She was there this morning, but he was asleep and left as fast as she could before he could ask her anything.
"Penny told me you wanted this." She approached him so he could grab the VapoRub she was holding. She noticed he wasn't moving at all.
"Sheldon?"
"I'm sorry... It's just... Penny was supposed to rub that on my chest."
"Excuse me. R-Rub what now?" Amy did a double-take.
"W-Well, I didn't think you'd do it! But I guess we have no choice, do we?"
"But, Sheldon..." Amy whined.
"Please." Sheldon whimpered. Looking at her with pleading eyes.
Amy let out a deep breath. Control yourself, Fowler. It's only for tonight.
"Okay."
She gently sat down on the side of his bed. Sheldon made room for her and sat up in a semi-upright position.
They avoided looking at each other, unsure of how to start.
Amy cleared her throat. "Uh, Sheldon... Your shirt."
"Oh, yeah. Right." Sheldon's hands were shaking. He slowly removed the topmost buttons of his pajama top to reveal his chest.
Amy thought she was going to have another panic attack. She tried her best not to look all bothered. She wiped her moist palms on her skirt and opened the VapoRub container.
He looked at her expectantly, his chest exposed to her. She blinked and few times and shook her head.
Damn it. I've changed my mind. I can't do this. "Sheldon, can't you do this yourself?"
"VapoRub makes my hands smell funny."
I can't believe I'm really doing this. Amy took the mentholated ointment and applied it to Sheldon's chest.
Sheldon: No, no, counter-clockwise or my chest hair mats.
Amy: Sorry.
Amy was overwhelmed. It was her first time touching a man so intimately. She was trying to distract herself with random thoughts to avoid getting flustered around Sheldon again.
Sheldon was just hoping that Amy couldn't feel his heart pounding out of his chest. He didn't feel this strangely when it came to Penny, and definitely not with Leonard. He bit his lip and tried his hardest to hold his breath.
Sheldon: Can you sing "Soft Kitty"?
Amy: What?
Sheldon: My mom used to sing it to me when I was sick.
Amy: I'm sorry, Sheldon, I don't know that song.
Sheldon: Penny didn't either. But I taught her. It goes like this.
Sheldon started singing. "Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur, happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr."
Sheldon: Now you.
Is he serious? He really is like a child...
Amy: Okay. I think I got the hang of it.
Amy sang the song perfectly. Sheldon was simply in awe. She never failed to amaze him.
"That was nice. Your voice is really soothing." Sheldon had a dreamy look in his eyes.
"Thank you." Amy stopped rubbing his chest. "I think we're okay now. Is there anything else you want me to do for you?"
"I am kinda hungry..."
"Then I'll make you something. What would you like?"
"Can you make me grilled cheese?"
"Sure."
"And can you put a smiley face on it?"
"Uh, yeah, okay I will."
"Oh, and the soup you brought is in the fridge. Maybe, you could heat that up too."
"I got it." Amy didn't complain. She understood that Sheldon was a handful, but nothing she couldn't handle.
Amy prepared Sheldon his food while he stayed seated on his spot.
When she finished, she served it to him, and he quickly took a bite.
He paused and immediately smiled.
"Do you like it?"
Sheldon nodded. Is there anything she can't do?
"I'm glad you do. Well, it's getting late. I think I better go."
Sheldon: Wait, where are you going?
Amy: Um, home. I figured you wouldn't need me anymore.
Sheldon: You're going to leave me?
Amy: Sheldon, you are a grown man, haven't you ever been sick before?
Sheldon: Well, of course, but, not by myself.
Amy: Really, never?
Sheldon told Amy about the time he got sick when he was fifteen in Germany.
Amy: You poor thing. And there was no one there to take care of you?
Sheldon: No. No, my mom had to fly back to Texas to help my dad because the house had slipped off the cinderblocks again.
Amy: Again?
Sheldon: It was tornado season. And it was an aluminum house. Anyway, the housekeeper in the faculty residence didn't speak any English, when I finally managed to convince her I was sick, she said "Möchtest Du eine Darmspülung?"
Amy: Oh my God. She gave you an enema, didn't she?
Sheldon nodded his head in embarrassment.
Amy felt nothing but sympathy for her best friend. She went back to sit beside him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Alright. I'll stay with you for a little while. When you're done, I'll wash the dishes, and get you to bed. Then, I'll leave. Is that okay?"
Sheldon: My mom used to give me sponge baths...
Amy: Okay, ground rules, no sponge baths, and definitely no enemas.
Sheldon: Agreed.
Amy: You know... It was different for me growing up. No one tended to me when I got sick. My mother would scold me, telling me it was my fault that I couldn't properly take care of my body.
Sheldon: What about your father?
Amy: He really didn't do anything. He was afraid of my mother. I dreaded getting sick because it would give her an opportunity to put me in the sin closet again.
Sheldon: Sin closet?
Amy: It's the place where I get a timeout. The amount of time I spent there depended on the "weight of my sins". I would hide a couple of books in there and a flashlight, so I could find something to do.
Sheldon saw Amy in a different light. Hearing just how miserable her childhood was made Sheldon feel so selfish. Him complaining to her about how his childhood was hell when she also fought her own battles at such a young age.
Sheldon: I'm sorry you had to go through that.
Amy: It's nothing. The experience actually made me more independent. However, I do resent my parents a little for what they did.
Sheldon: You have enough reason to. With your overbearing mother and all. No offense.
Amy: None taken. I suppose my life could've been different if I had ordinary parents, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy my life right now.
She smiled and looked down at her lap. She did enjoy her life right now. It was better now that he was there.
Sheldon: If I knew you then, I would've taken care of you.
Amy: Really? But you're a certified germaphobe.
Sheldon: Well, yes. But for you, I would've made an exception.
Amy: Thank you, Sheldon. That's really sweet.
Sheldon: Don't mention it.
Amy: You sure you won't run away?
Sheldon: Please. I'm Sheldon Lee Cooper, your best friend, and your hero.
"The one and only." Amy gently smiled.
Amy finished washing the dishes and took Sheldon to bed. She fluffed his pillow and tucked him in his comforter.
"I hope you get well. The guys and I miss you at Caltech."
"Of course you are. How is everyone coping now in the absence of Sheldon Cooper?"
"I'm not sure about the guys, but recently, there is this scientist who'd always visit my lab."
"What for?"
"I don't know, but he always gives me such pretty rocks."
Wait a minute. He? "Why would someone visit you just to give you rocks?"
"Well, Bert is a geologist-"
"A geologist!? Not a rock monkey!"
"I knew you'd react this way, but I swear that he's a nice guy."
"But Amy, he specializes in Geology! It's not even a real science!"
"You're overreacting. He's harmless, trust me."
"Harmless? He sounds like a real creep if you ask me." He crossed his arms.
Here we go again. "Would you prefer if I told him to stop visiting me then?"
"Yes, I would…" He looked away from Amy.
"Fine. But I think you're being ridiculous."
"No, I'm not! I'm just warning you about the-"
Not wanting to argue with him about it, Amy started humming an all too familiar tune.
"Are you humming the Star Trek theme?"
"Yes. I figured it would help calm you down as Soft Kitty did."
"I'm not a child... Can you do Space Odyssey?"
Amy sang Sheldon his favorite show tunes until he fell asleep.
That was a close one. Before Amy could head for the door, she noticed something on Sheldon's bedside table.
It was his copy of their merry-go-round picture from the amusement park. It was neatly framed. Amy felt her insides melt. She then looked at Sheldon.
Amy huffed and put the frame down so she wouldn't have to look at it. She wanted to pull all her hair out in frustration.
Stop it, Fowler.
But Amy knew that no matter how many times she said it, she enjoyed it immensely when Sheldon would surprise her with his actions.
She hated it when he wasn't around. She was thankful that she met him or else she wouldn't have met Penny, Bernadette, or the guys. She felt like she was already part of their group and they welcomed her like family.
What hurts her is the fact that even if she knew that she should be happy with what they have right now, she wanted more.
She didn't just want to be around him. She wanted him.
Don't leave me.
I love you.
She replayed his words over and over in her head.
It couldn't have been about me... Or even if it was, he must've meant it platonically.
Amy proceeded to get the picture frame again. She looked at it and sighed. Sheldon and I are closer than ever. I don't want to ruin things just because I can't keep my feelings in check.
With a newfound determination, Amy decided to play the role of Sheldon's best friend. That instead of mulling over what could happen between them, she would cherish the time she spent with him. She gently placed the frame back in its original place and went home.
The next day.
Sheldon felt better than ever. He stretched his arms and did his daily morning routine. He saw Leonard in his robe and assumed he got home late.
"Hey, buddy. How ya feelin'?"
"I feel rejuvenated. Amy was more than helpful." Sheldon gave a huge grin.
"What about Penny?"
Sheldon took a while to respond. "Oh."
Sheldon forgot about how Amy took Penny's place in caring for him. "She did okay. I can't remember that she was here, honestly."
Leonard rolled his eyes and drank his coffee.
After they finished getting ready for work, Leonard waited for Sheldon before he could lock the door. What's taking him so long?
"Sheldon, where are you? We're going to be late!"
"Just a sec!" Sheldon went out of his room, wore his windbreaker, got his bag, and followed Leonard outside.
Sheldon: I apologize. I almost forgot last night's recordings.
Leonard: What recordings?
Sheldon: Well, you remember when you told me I talk in my sleep? Well, it occurred to me that, like most things I say, it's probably pure gold. So I started recording it all, and now Alex gets to comb through eight hours of what I like to call Sheldon After Dark. Speaking of which, what did Alex do while I was away?
Leonard told Sheldon everything that happened while he was gone. More importantly, the set-up where Alex would take Raj to undergo cognitive-behavioral therapy. Leonard expected Sheldon to complain, but he thought otherwise.
"Interesting. When do the sessions start?"
"Really? You're not mad that your assistant won't be able to cater to your every need all the time anymore?"
"No. Raj has struggled to talk to women for a long time now, and it causes him a great amount of stress. I think this would be good for him."
"Wow, Sheldon. I never expected to hear you say such kind words." Amy really has changed him, huh?
"I mean it. Think about it. If Raj could cure his selective mutism, then he wouldn't have to whisper in my ear with his moist breath."
He's got a long way to go... Leonard sighed.
"Good morning, Dr. Cooper."
"Hello, Alex. Did you transcribe my recordings while I was away?"
"Yes, I did. Uh, I actually wanted to suggest that you listen to them first before you give them to me."
"Ms. Jensen, going through such a menial task is less than necessary for a genius like me. That's why I hired you."
"But, Dr. Cooper I heard some very personal stuff that I felt the need to tell you straight away."
Sheldon opened his mouth then closed it again. "What exactly did you hear?"
For the past few days, all Alex heard was him muttering on and on about trains, shows, and superheroes.
"Anything he says isn't even close to a scientific breakthrough." I regret working for him already. Alex thought.
After a few minutes of listening to Sheldon's breathing, Alex found herself dozing off. Not until she heard Sheldon speak again.
I blame you.
Alex quickly sat up and started transcribing everything she heard.
"Finally, something interesting." She continued typing.
You distract me. I've been distracted since the moment I met you.
"Wait... This isn't-"
You should. 'Cause, all I can think about is how much I wanna kiss you.
"Oh..."
And not just on the cheek, but on the mouth. Like mommies and daddies do.
Looks like Dr. Cooper's got a crush... Should I even type this down?
Why not? Oh.
How can I be the right person?
I don't think I can.
No... Stop pushing me away.
Amy...
Alex covered her mouth with her hands. "Amy? Where have I heard that name before... Dr. Fowler?"
After hearing Dr. Fowler's name, there were minutes of silence.
"I guess he was dreaming about her. I should disregard everything he just said..."
Before Alex could stop the recording, she heard the door open.
Guess he's still asleep.
She heard a woman's voice. "Oh my God. Was that Dr. Fowler?"
Alex felt like she was listening to a radio drama of some sort. She felt bad for intruding, but she couldn't dare to stop herself from finding out what would happen next.
This was the first time her job as Dr. Cooper's assistant got exciting. It was not how she expected it to be, but hearing a man like Dr. Cooper talk about someone so passionately was a shocking discovery if there ever was one.
Don't leave me.
Alex wasn't typing anymore. She was absorbed in the whole exchange. "Ooh. Did Dr. Cooper wake up?"
She heard a series of deep breaths. "What is happening?"
I love you.
Alex almost fell off of her chair. "Okay, enough is enough. I'm gonna get in real trouble here."
Amy?
Then, Alex heard a thud.
Oof-
What are you doing here? In my room?
"So, he said it while he was dreaming..." Alex didn't realize that she wasn't sitting anymore.
Uh, I-I just came by to check on you... Leonard told me it was okay. I'll be on my way out...
You don't remember saying anything earlier, do you?
No, not at all. Was there something I said?
Never mind. I'll be out of your hair. I'm glad you're okay.
Alex heard the door close, and it sounded as if Sheldon went to stop the recording.
That was intense. Alex shut her laptop and thought about what she would do with everything she just heard.
"I have to tell Dr. Cooper about this."
Alex feared for her job, hoping Fermilab was still open to hiring her.
"I'm so sorry for intruding on your privacy, Dr. Cooper. I understand if this would cost me my-"
"Do you still have that recording?"
"What? Uh, yes."
Alex handed Sheldon the recorder and he played it at the parts that Alex mentioned to him. He was deep in thought. When it was over, he gave it back to Alex.
"Throw this as far away as possible. Burn it if you have to."
"Alright, Dr. Cooper. Again, I'm so sorry for overhearing you and Dr. Fowler-"
"I'll let this one go as long as you don't mention it to anyone."
"I won't. I'll go ahead and throw this away." Alex went for the door. She stopped when Sheldon called out to her.
"Alex... She heard it, didn't she?"
"What?"
"She heard what I said."
Alex bit her lip and looked down. "I think so, yes."
"Okay, you can go now. Thanks for telling me."
"No problem, Dr. Cooper." Alex rushed out of the office and hoped she didn't do anything wrong. She was just relieved that Sheldon didn't fire her.
Sheldon was pacing back and forth in his office.
Why couldn't I remember anything? Surely, I would, considering what I said...
What he said.
I love you.
Sheldon had been questioning his feelings for the past few weeks, and nothing could prepare him for what he just heard earlier.
I love you.
He wondered why he couldn't get Amy off his mind, why he could remember and notice every single thing about her without her telling him. He could assume it was his eidetic memory, but he couldn't care less when it came to other people.
I love you.
Everything he said while he was asleep was true. She did distract him- her mere presence was enough to captivate and excite him. She accepted him for all his quirks and challenged him like nobody else. He valued her friendship, her mind, her kindness, her opinions, and he found her very attractive.
I love you.
She makes him feel safe, she makes his life more exciting, he can't stand her with anyone else... Everything about them just makes sense that it's so easy being with her.
She's like a breath of fresh air. One he couldn't ever live without. He actually couldn't describe everything else he felt in words. Not even science could explain it. That's when everything became clear. There was only one conclusion.
"I'm in love with Amy Farrah Fowler."
End of Chapter 18.
Author's Note: They finally acknowledged their feelings! But will they ever admit it? What will Sheldon do with this information?
Also, My dad and I really liked Alex in the show. It was too bad she only had four appearances there. So, in this story, she'll appear from time to time. And who knows? Maybe something could happen between her and a certain astrophysicist.
Notable episodes I used: The Higgs Boson Observation, The Pancake Batter Anomaly, The Egg Salad Equivalency, The Romance Resonance, The Occupation Recalibration, The Veracity Elasticity
