Hi lovely readers!

Thank you so much for all of the reviews on the last chapter. I appreciate it so much!

This prompt was requested by Boris Yeltsin. I hope this is what you were after, I took it back to Emily being younger as that was just easier for me to write (I think I'm much better at writing the kids younger). Thank you for requesting.

Enjoy reading - (please read end notes).

Family life was always something Amy had dreamt of. At one point in her life, she reached an age where she wanted more than just a success career. She wanted a family, children and little babies of her own. Some people would say that you couldn't have it all but she did and days like today were exactly why.

With Sheldon at work, she and the children had spent the day with Bernadette, Halley and Michael. As the sun blazed down, Amy watched the children from the patio, playing and laughing. There was nothing more special than that, nothing in the world made her happier than hearing her children laugh.

"Lunch" Bernadette called as she stepped outside, ushering the children into the kitchen where she had prepared quite the spread of sandwiches and snacks. Of course, Amy had offered her help but in true Bernadette style she had refused.

The kitchen was suddenly filled with little children, with sandwiches in their hands, fistfuls of potato chips and little cups of juice. Again, another sight that made Amy's heart swell with love, she watched as the girls shared a joke and the boys looked as if they were in a competition to see who could eat the most.

"Did Halley tell you that her teacher has already spoken to her about college?" Bernadette asked Amy, as ever she was an incredibly proud mum.

"They spoke to the whole class mum" Halley whined, clearly she had heard her mother relay this information to others, almost making the situation much bigger than it was.

Halley was very clever, just like her parents. If anything her academic record was one that could rival Sheldon's, who would never admit that Howard Wolowitz had produced such an intelligent offspring.

"That's still pretty cool though Halley" Amy tried to be just as proud as Bernadette.

"Can you believe that college isn't too far away and then my baby will be leaving home" Bernadette cooed over her daughter as a teenage Halley shrugged her off.

"I'm doing the school show auntie Bernadette" Emily announced, at eight years old she was clearly feeling a little left out amongst the college talk.

Sitting round the table, eating take out pizza seemed like the perfect way to end their day. Amy loved moments like this, where she could just take a minute to sit back and observe her family. She still couldn't quite believe she had her own little family, a husband and perfect little children that they made. Watching them just be everyday made her heart swell and right now with their bright smiles and tomato sauce stained cheeks, she didn't think she could love them more.

"How old are you when you go to college?" Emily asked as she used the back of her hand to wipe her mouth from the greasy pizza. The question threw both of her parents, it hadn't been closely related to anything they were talking about.

"You're eighteen" Sheldon answered, sharing a look with Amy. They watched as Emily put her slice of pizza down and used her fingers to count in her head.

"What are you doing?" Amy asked intrigued by what she was trying to calculate.

"Nothing" she shrugged and reached for pizza slice.

"She was counting" Arthur noted looking from one parent to the other.

"She was counting, you're very clever" Amy smiled as she draped her arm around him and gave him a squeeze. Even though she was busy fussing over her youngest, her eyes were concentrated on Emily sitting opposite her at the table. She was never great at hiding her emotions and right now something just wasn't quite right, as Amy looked back she realised something had changed once they'd left the Wolowitz's.

"And they lived happily ever after" Amy read, closing the fairytale she had just read Emily. She loved these little moments like this, it was true what people said, time went by so fast and she knew reading a bedtime story with her daughter tucked into her side wasn't going to be forever.

"I love that story" Emily snuggled closer to her mother, not that it was very possible, they were already incredibly close. Normally, Emily was more than happy for Amy to read her a story, say goodnight and leave, however, tonight felt different, like she wanted to keep her mother close.

"Everything okay?" Amy asked as she kissed the top of her head. She felt Emily nod her head but as Amy remained in place, Emily began to shuffle, soon she was looking up at her mother, the ocean blue eyes that were just like her fathers looking back at her.

"You're not going to leave me, are you?" Emily asked her voice quiet and somewhat muffled by Amy's clothing. The words made Amy's stomach drop, why on earth did her little girl think that she was going to leave her.

"No, of course not" Amy was quick to reassure her. "Why do you think that?" Now, it was her turn to cuddle her close, she wanted to hold her forever.

"Because" she started, "Bernadette said that when Halley goes to college, she'll leave and I don't want her to leave and then I thought you work at at a college and what if you leave" she rambled, she was clearly emotional and despite the unusual nap on the drive home, maybe a little overtired after their day of fun.

"Sweetie, I'm not going to leave you and Halley isn't going to college for a long time" Amy explained, suddenly having a flashback to their pizza and Emily's counting. She was working out how long it would be until Halley left, she was sure of it.

"You promise?"

"I promise. You're stuck with me forever. I'm not ever leaving you. Or daddy or Arthur" she wanted to tell her one hundred times over, wanted to reassure her forever and ever.

"But what about Halley?" The pair were close, really close and with all the other children being boys, they'd naturally bonded in a way that only girls do. "What if when she goes we're not friends anymore," she pouted.

No one knew what the next few years held, maybe with a four year age gap they would drift apart but there would always be something there between them. Essentially, they were family, all of the children were like brothers and sisters to one another, had grown up together and already made a ton of memories.

"Sweetie, you'll always be friends. She'll always be around because we're like family aren't we?" she felt Emily nod, "and you know if she chooses to go to college she'll come home and we can go and visit."

"Really?" she suddenly seemed excited about the notion of visiting Halley at college.

"Sure, but darling, that's a really long way off. You've got years and years until that happens," she reassured her, gently stroking up and down her arm, a gesture often that helped her with falling to sleep. "Does that
make you feel a little better?" Amy asked, hoping her words had helped.

"Mhmm, maybe we can just see each other lots before she leaves"

"I think that's a great idea" Amy smiled.

It was just twenty minutes later when Sheldon went upstairs to check on them both that he noticed Amy and Emily curled together fast asleep. He stopped and smiled as he rested against the doorframe, his wife and daughter, like two little peas in pod.
