"I swear, I'm boarding the plane now and I'll be there in two hours- three max."

Piper McLean rolled her eyes, listening to her husband on the other side of the line while rubbing her swollen belly. She was more than understanding that Jason had to work but it was getting annoying how much he rushed to get home.

"Jase, I'll be fine. Take as long as you need and bring those people safe. Besides-" She added before she could even hear her husband complain. "Dad and Mellie are a call away, so please be careful."

"You should be the one being careful, you're almost seven-month pregnant-"

"Also, can you get me those spicy snacks when you come back? Oh, and also a jar of Nutella! Need to make sure they are well dipped in!" Piper interrupted, suddenly craving said foods. Her eyes even widened at the thought of eating the snacks.

"...sure, I'll get that for you, Pipes."

"Thanks, babe! Love you, have a safe flight!"

"Love you too, baby. And our baby too."

Piper couldn't hide the cooing sound that came out of her mouth right after hearing Jason saying those words. Sure, there was no one but herself at the apartment. Ever since hitting the second trimester of her pregnancy, she was turned into mush whenever Jason said or did things about the baby.

Which, lately, was every two days.

Despite the amount of people infected since the beginning of the global pandemic, Jason was forced to fly commercial flights inside the country. Both Jason and Piper had been against doing so, especially since the official first case happened around Piper's fifth month of pregnancy.

Jason had requested and got a desk job for the mean time. However, due to the amount of careless people traveling from all over the world and inside the country, pilots and air stewards alike began to be frequent victims of the virus, forcing lots of desk-pilots to be back in the air, Jason being one of them. Thankfully, this also came with a pay raise and extra health measures because of her state.

"You heard that, baby?" Piper whispered to her belly, smiling softly. "Daddy is coming home soon..." She rubbed her belly, and slowly but securely, began walking her way to the kitchen to make herself some lunch. Despite her cravings, she knew she had to eat something. Besides, she had to make sure Jason's kit was ready to be used.

Her muses were suddenly interrupted by the phone again. She walked with a small waddle that her own father found adorable but that made her pout and deny any action.

"Hello?"

"Hello, sweetheart!" Piper sighed and smiled at the voice of her father. "Listen, I was going over the supermarket list and wanted to know if you needed anything."

"Thanks for the offer, Dad, but Jason is coming tonight... we can handle until tomorrow..." Piper thanked him, trying not to bother... or sound annoyed.

"With even more reason, sweetie! Jason will be tired and wants to spend time with you!"

"Only if you insist, Dad... don't want to annoy you much-"

"Nonsense, Pipes!" Her father assured her. "Now, please tell me what you need... if it eases your mind, I'll drop them tomorrow morning."

"That would be absolutely great, thanks Dad." Piper then began to name all the things that were missing and, after a chat with her father, hung up, feeling slightly bored. "Now, what to do?" She looked around the house and sighed. "You know what, baby? Being pregnant and unable to go out does suck..." She spoke to her belly. It was then that she decided to take a nap on the couch.

More hours than what Piper would like to admit past before she woke up.

She woke up to the smell of food, which was kind of impossible since she hadn't begun making dinner yet. Blinking the sleep away, she sat up, wincing slightly and holding her belly.

"Take it easy, Pipes..." Her head suddenly moved to the voice, only to find her husband smiling gently at her. She opened her mouth to say something, anything. However, the last thing she expected to come out of it was a loud groan. "You alright? What's wrong?"

"Hurts..." It was all she could manage to say, closing her eyes and holding Jason's hand tight with hers. "Ah!"

"OK, um... Your water didn't break, so I think you are in fake labor...?"

"No, you think!" Jason was taken aback by that answer, but he could see the immediate remorse in Piper's eyes. "Sorry, Jase... it just this little fella who wants to scare me to death..." At that, Jason chuckled and nodded, kissing her forehead.

"It's alright, no worries-" His words are stopped when his wife holds his hand so hard, he's wincing. "Damn, that was a hard one, right?"

"Thanks for not being patronizing, husband of mine..." Piper argued back, but with no real intentions of fighting. "Now, did you get my snacks with Nutella?"

"I did, but I think you should eat dinner first-"

"But I want my snacks now!" Piper whined, pouting at him.

"Piper, it could be bad for the baby-"

"How would you know what is good for the baby?! Have you carried a human being the size of a watermelon inside of your tiny body for nine months only to expel it afterward with immense pain and long hours?!"

"Neither of us have done it!"

"...it's not excuse, I want my snacks!"

"I'm not saying no, I'm just saying after dinner-"

"You know what? You carry our babies next time!"

"I physically can't?"

"You're the son of Jupiter! Who knows what you can do!"

"...fair point but I don't think father ever turned into a woman."

"That's probably why he doesn't understands them."

"You're not hearing arguments from me."

"I still want my snacks..."

"How about a compromise?" Piper raised an eyebrow, paying attention and Jason knew he had won. "You eat a little of dinner and, while you eat your snacks, I give you a foot massage."

"Deal!" Piper accepted, smiling and slowly getting up from the couch and walking to the table. Jason stared at her, chuckling softly.

He couldn't wait for baby Grace to finally arrive.
