Chapter 3

We headed north toward Rosie's home. It was a large green castle with a garden around it. Or at least it was until the Lunai came. We stopped on a hill overlooking the vineyard. Most of the soil was nothing but ash and dried blood. The Lunai had captured Xenon's people and were forcing them to gather supplies for the trip back to Earth. They were in chains forged from fire. Any sudden moves and they were executed on the spot. We discreetly crawled up the hill to get a better look. Rosie gasped. Harvey and I looked at her.

"What have they done..." She breathed. I gently touched her hand.

"I'm sorry Rosie."

"Look there!"

Harvey and I looked up as she pointed.

A Lunai hit a Florauna with a whip as it carried a box onto a ship.

"That's my Uncle." Rosie breathed. She stared in shock and her mouth opened wide. I watched her tremble and a tear ran down her face.

"Rosie..."

Abruptly the dirt gave way under Harvey. He grunted and fell forward down the hilll toward the Lunai. Rosie and I gasped and leapt to save him. I held out my hands and stopped him in a mid air using my telekinesis. Grunting I hoisted him back up toward us. As I put him down I gasped and fell foward.

"That was close." Harvey uttered.

Rosie and I looked upon him and turned as we heard a scream. They killed another Florauna.

"Sselesu saw ehs." One Lunai spoke to another.

"Bryan, Harvey I'm sorry, but we have to stop them now!"

Rosie transformed into her true self, and flew toward them. So much for stealth.

"Rosie!"

Juju! You take Harvey with you! Harvey, I want you to free every Florauna you can find! You'll have to use your locking picking skills to get those chains off."

"I can get'em off, what about you?!"

"I have to find Margalos."

"And Rosie?!"

"I have faith she can take care of herself, now get going!" Juju barked and transformed into a bigger rock creature.

"Cool." Harvey said with a smile. He then boarded Juju and rode on his back down the hill. I slid down the hill and trampled over some rocks at the bottom. This wasn't my true plan, but I wasn't going to give up. I wasn't going to tap out just because it felt spontaneous, and things looked bad. I came with this strife that we could do this and we were going too. I thought if we couldn't maybe we could at least by my family some time. My heart was racing but I had to keep going.

"Where are you running to little one?" I heard Margolas's voice echo in my head. I tried to block it out. I stopped and leaned on a pilar.

"Your mind is now an open book to me..."

I fell foward against an ashy patch of dirt and flowers.

"Now that all of my men know you're here...it won't be hard to destory you...in fact they will enjoy ripping you apart painful piece by painful piece...so much so that you won't have enough blood to quench the thirst of even one of my men...and as for the Princess...her body is mine...she will bare my children and I shall have my Lunai Tribreed."

"Noooooo!" I stood up even though I was in pain. I brought the attention of the other Lunai. Using my telekinesis I shoved two of them into a pillar near the fortress. I could see Juju fighting a few feet away from Harvey as he tried to free some of the Florauna. Rosie used her mana powers to fling a few of the Lunai yards away from her.

"Oh but she will be mine..."

"Stop it. Get out of my head."

"Bryan!" I heard Rosie shout.

I held my head and somehow blindly walked through the fire, and the surrounding chaos without as much as a scratch.

"Bry watch out!" Harvey yelled from afar. A fallen piece of the fortress began to fall on top of me. It missed me completely as I fell foward on my stomach holding my head.

"Burn with fever...and feel the power of my mind through your own body! Become my slave!"

"Stop...leave me alone..."

I heard whispers from nowhere. They were all faint at first and then grew stronger.

"Bry?! Bryan?!" Harvey jumped off Juju's back and ran over to me. He turned me over on my back and held my arms.

"Bry?! What's happening!?"

"The...thoughts...there's...there's too many of them!"

I gasped.

"He's in my head...Harvey he's in my head."

Rosie flew down and landed near us.

"What is it?!"

"Margalos is inside his head!"

Juju wailed and hit another Lunai into a large rock formation. It crumbled and fell on top of the creature. He shielded us as my friends tried to help me.

"Bry...I'm here Bryan."

Rosie transformed back into herself. She was fully exposed. She grabbed my hand and held it tightly. I could feel her warm skin. Her touch felt as if I were floating.

"Bring me...the Princess..."

"No!" I began to feel tears.

"Bryan?"

"Rosie...get away...get away from me!"

"But Bry I-"

I grabbed her tightly by the wrist and sat up. It was then I saw nothing but red. Nothing was going to stop me.

"Bryan stop you're hurting me!"

"Bry! Let Rosie go! Get off her man!"

I pushed Harvey down and pulled Rosie up bridal style. She kicked and screamed in my arms trying to pull away. I acted as if I couldn't even hear her. She slapped my face, I didn't even feel the stings.

Harvey got to his feet and pulled my shoulders. I dropped Rosie. She rolled over twice as she hit the dirt. Harvey turned me around to face him.

"Bry, stop it man! Come on!"

I ignored him as if he weren't there. I gave him a shove and turned my attention back to Rosie once more. I had to get her to Margolas. Harvey yelled and jumped on my back. He tightened his grip around me.

"Fight it Bry, come on!" He grunted.

"Let go of me!"

"Kill him Bryan. He is in our way!"

The words were cleared and echoed in my skull. I headbutted Harvey. When he let me go he started to punch me.

"Forgive me Bry..."

He yelled and punched my face. I hit the ground hard. Harvey had never hit me like that before. I wasn't about to give him a second punch. I spat blood from my mouth. The right side of my head hit a rock and began to bleed down my face. I turned and held him up with my telekinesis. I began to choke him in mid air.

"B...Baby Bry...it's me...it's Harvey..." He chocked out. His voice grew more and more raspy. He began losing most of his air. His fingertips began to turn blue as he began to suffocate.

"Bryannnnn!"

Rosie got in front of me, and began pulling on my wrist.

"You'll kill him! Stop it!"

She transformed back into her alien form. She wrapped her vines around me and tied me up. Doing so forced me out of my concentration. Harvey fell forward coughing and gasping for breath. I just felt feverish. I had to do something to get the pain to stop. I had to obey. I tried to move, but Rosie entangled me in more of her vines. She held me tightly. I could feel her absorbing the energy from the mana around her to make the vines even stronger. Harvey then knocked me out.

I remember I woke up only once, my body bounced up and down as I was carried off on Juju's back. I didn't know if my friends were still with me, or if I was even still alive. I saw the black open sky and the rolling fields of grass. I felt light headed and ill. The breeze hit my face lightly. I reached up to touch my face. The right side of my head was coated in blood. There was a sore spot that was hot and tender to the touch. I winced at my wound and fainted again. I then knew no more.
