I saw Star Wars at the cinema in 1977 and became (just a little!) obsessed. My first fanfic was written sometime in the summer of 1980, in response to A Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Alan Dean Foster, because the author (imho) got it so completely wrong, I couldn't bear it. No Han Solo? Luke and Leia off gallivanting together without Han Solo? Really? So I started writing an alternative "filler" story that would take place between ANH and ESB. I was 11 years old. In the many years since then, I have written my fair share of fics, almost all of them in the Star Wars universe, and mainly in response to the unsatisfying aspects of H/L as depicted in the now-retired Expanded Universe of Star Wars literature. And eventually I stopped following the EU stuff and drifted away from active fandom. I'm not saying The Courtship of Princess Leia (1994) had anything to do with it but...yeah. I preferred my own head-canon (still do).

I deeply appreciate reviews and will always respond to them. THANK YOU in advance to guest reviewers; I can't reply directly (and that drives me a little crazy) but I appreciate your taking the time to leave feedback. It really means a lot.

The coolest thing about returning to fanfiction after being away for so long has been meeting so many lovely, like-minded people and making new friends. It's been great catching up on all the fic I've missed, and I've discovered that I really enjoy writing collaboratively, which is something I'd never tried before 2016. Long may it continue!

One final (but important) point: imho, the Disney Trilogy (DT) sucks Bantha balls. My stories do not track with Mickey Mouse canon. You will find no Krylo here.

And now for a word about "official" canon:

It's bollocks. It's a hot mess. I really despise it. And I reserve the right to disregard it completely. I especially reject the ridiculous timeline and certain events (imho completely out-of-character events): No, eminently sensible Leia Organa did not accidentally get pregnant at the Ewok party -- and in the middle of a war, ffs! (Psst, hey Disney, if planet-bound, non-space-faring Earthlings are sophisticated enough to have contraceptive implants that can be used for years at a time and provide 99.9% protection against unplanned pregnancy, don't you think the GFFA does!? And don't you think Leia would use it!? Jeez.) And no, Luke Skywalker did not give up on hope and abandon his friends; not for any reason whatsoever would he do that. And I refuse to believe he'd stand idly by while Leia wades back into war and Han gets murdered by his own kid. Speaking of Han, does it make any damn sense that he would forget all of the lessons learned over the course of c. four years with Luke and Leia, or lose the maturity he gained over that time period? Never mind reverting to smuggling and foolishly going deep into debt at a time when Leia clearly needed his support. NO. No, no, no, a thousand times, no to Disney canon.

So, when you're reading any of my stories (whether written alone or with JG or Sue), keep in mind that in my universe(s) Han and Leia never end up estranged, they never have a murderous psychopathic son, and neither one of them ever gets a lightsaber through the chest.

Screw you, Jar-Jar Abrams! (2017 Update: Screw you, too, Rian "Wannabe-Edgelord" Johnson. You clearly have no clue about the OT characters and you ought to be ashamed of how you've treated the ST characters, too, and for promoting the idea that a woman should be "forced" to endure "uncomfortable intimacy" with a man who has abused her in the past, and for suggesting there's anything at all romantic or exciting about it. Shame, shame, shame on you for writing that.)

As a total SW nerd from the age of 7, I have firm ideas about how things should have proceeded post-RotJ. I was so excited about The Force Awakens but I came away from it feeling shocked and then deeply saddened; they destroyed my heroes! And they had so completely wrecked the relationship of Han and Leia I found myself writing again after years away from the fandom, trying to fix it. The post-TFA fics linked below comprise my response to the terrible things they did to my OTP. I'll leave those stories on the archive, but I will not be writing in that 'verse in the future. Although these stories track with Mickey Mouse canon to a certain extent (featuring characters introduced in TFA), the story "Remain in Light" begins immediately after the confrontation between Han and Darth Whiny-Arse on Starkiller Base, and then we're firmly in AU territory, and on our way back to happily-ever-after.
