Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Remutated

Chapter 1: Above and Below

We open in the city of New York.

Crime is seemingly around every corner. Wallets stolen, purses nabbed, and all of these crimes going as fast as lightning!

And trying to report on this was a teenage intern at channel 6; April O'Neil.

We see her standing on a corner with a microphone. She had short red hair, and was wearing a yellow jacket and blue skinny jeans. Filming her was her best friend, Irma Langenstein. She had short brunette hair dyed purple, a sleeveless black shirt and orange scarf with a dark blue skirt.

"Crime…. It's something we take for granted in the big city", April narrated, "but eventually, a crime SO shocking occurs that even us city-dwellers sit up and take notice."

Irma muttered, "yeah right."

April ignored her best friend's words and continued with, "many people have sighted a strange insignia of some kind at the scene of crimes all over the city of New York. Some say simple street punks. But what simple street punks could rob an entire truck of goods in less than thirty seconds? This young reporter suspects something more strange and well trained. Channel Six will continue keeping you updated on the details of The Silent Crime Wave", she said as the camera kept rolling.

"And cut", Irma said, "I can see it now. In a few years; Channel Six News will present it's top news anchor: April O'Neil!"

"That's what I'm hoping for", April agreed as she got her things and was ready to head home, "and this report is my first step."

Irma replied, "well, let's just hope they actually wanna take a look at this footage."

April added, "you worry too much Irma."

April chuckled as she and Irma parted ways.

Little did they know, someone was watching April's every move.

"Well, see you tomorrow, Irma", said April as she headed to her house.

Irma replied, "see you later April! If you see Casey or Zach, tell them I said hi!"

April added, "will do!"

April smiled as she walked along towards her home.

Little did she realize that her life was about to change completely from that point on.

As April began to take a short cut down an alley, she started to hear noises all around her. Soft at first, but slowly growing louder.

"I just need to keep moving", she said to herself, "besides, I wanna report the news, not be part of it!"

But before April could take another step, she heard several figures approach from behind.

April slowly turned to see several people in ninja outfits, with an insignia of a foot on their backs.

All of them were glaring at April as she took a step back, slowly reaching into her purse for some pepper spray

"Look, whatever you guys want, I don't want any trouble", April stated, trying to distract them from her hands.

The lead one replies, "you caused trouble the minute you spoke of the Foot Clan. Ninja's leave no trace. That includes nosey little teenagers."

As the ninja went to backhand her, April pulled out her pepper spray and got him right in the eyes!

The ninja screamed in agony as he clawed at his burning eyes.

"AAAAAAAAAAH! DAMN IT!", he hissed angrily, "g-get her!"

The other ninjas turned towards April, as she kept the pepper spray at the ready, daring to fire on anyone who got too close.

April yells, "someone! Help!"

But just as one was about to grab her, something quickly hit the light on the wall! It looked like a sai!

The place was engulfed in darkness and all April heard was the sound of fighting as she scattered to the wall!

The light slowly returned, showing all of her assailants tied up and strung about the place. A few of them had slices on their arms and legs from blades of some kind.

"APRIL!"

April turned to see someone running towards her.

They were a boy that was the same age as her. He had dirty blonde hair, almost brown, a bright yellow shirt under a green jacket and brown pants.

This was Zach Eastman, a friend of April and Irma.

Zach asked, "what's going on?"

April replied, "these guys attacked me. I don't know who, but SOMEONE saved me."

Zach looked around and said, "I'll get the cops!"

Zach dashed off while April followed.

But not before she saw something on the ground.

It was a sai!

Looking around curiously, April slipped the tool into her bag, and followed behind Zach.

Nearby, a manhole cover was lifted slightly, with a pair of eyes behind a mask looking at the fleeing teens.

It spoke in a gruff voice, saying, "aw…. Damn."

The manhole cover slid down, and the eyes' owner retreated into the underground.

We follow the figure as they retreat through the tunnels of the sewers.

As they went through, they heard three others speaking.

One spoke in a cheery voice, saying, "did you see that one who tried to grab my nunchucks! Ha!"

A stoic voice then said, "yeah, but it wasn't anything compared to my skills with my blades! They were running scared!"

A more nerdy voice then said, "yeah, but I was able to smack some of them in the face, straight down to the ground!"

As they started to round a corner, the cheery voice said, "either way, major league butt-kicking is back in town!"

The four figures emerged from around the corner, revealing who, and what, they were.

Four walking, talking, teenage, mutant, ninja…. Turtles?

The stoic voiced one had a blue mask. He had two swords strapped to his back, and had a few Japanese markings upon his sash. He said, "we were awesome!"

This is Leonardo, the leader.

The cheery voiced one wore an orange mask, and was shorter with freckles. He had two pairs of nunchucks on his belt, and a few small stickers on his shell. He said, "more like; righteous!"

This was Michelangelo, the youngest, and the party dude.

The nerdy voiced one wore a purple mask, and was the tallest one, with a small gap in his front teeth, and a bo-staff on his back. He also had an earphone on, which looked to be made of part of some old headphones and a hanger wire. He said, "bossa nova!"

This was Donatello, the smartest one.

The other two turned to him.

Mikey asked, "bossa nova?"

Donatello inquired, "chevy nova?"

Silence.

Donatello then yelled, "excellent!"

The other two cheered as they continued on.

Struggling behind as the fourth turtle, Raphael. He was the largest turtle; with a red mask that was slightly torn. He had dents and scratches all over his shell. He held a sour look as he held his remaining sai.

Raphael then said, "damnit!"

"We're talkin' a major pizza attack here, dudes," declared Mikey, "ooh, baby, I need it! I'm thinking…. The 99-cheese special!"

Donnie asked, "how about extra pepperoni?"

Mikey replied, "dude, you read my mind!"

That's when the four of them finally approached the entrance to some sort of secret lair.

"Home again, home again", Leo whooped as he stepped inside with his brothers.

The brothers began to quiet down as they entered a makeshift living room. Various posters littered the walls, an old television was in the corner, an old brown couch at one end of the room, etc.

There were other rooms that lead into there, such as a kitchen, a training room, a makeshift lab, a bedroom, and all that.

Sitting on the couch was another human sized animal.

But it wasn't a turtle.

No.

It was a large rat, clad in an old red robe that was beginning to pink from age. He had a noticeable chip on his ear. He sat in a meditative state, eyes closed as two candles flickered nearby.

"Master Splinter, we have just had our first battle", said Leo, "there were many, but we kicked…. Er, we fought well."

"... Were you seen?", asked Splinter.

"No, sensei", replied Leo.

Donnie added, "we followed your teachings to the letter."

Splinter nodded and said, "very good, my sons."

Raph grumbled as he said, "I lost one of my sai's!"

Splinter replied, "then it is gone."

Raph tried to say, "but I can get it ba-"

Splinter interrupted, "Raphael! Calm yourself."

Raph nodded as he clutched his remaining weapon.

Mikey was in the kitchen, talking over the phone. Ordering from his favorite pizza place.

"Can I get a 99-cheese pizza, fellas? Yeah, 99 cheese, extra-large", Mikey said, "no pineapple, no anchovies; I swear to God, if you put anchovies on it, you're in gigundo trouble!"

Splinter grabbed a nearby paperback book and tossed it at Mikey, who ducked.

"Make it extra-gooey, don't forget the extra pepperoni", he said, "so 30 minutes, and the clock's tickin', dude!"

With that, he hung up.

"Alright, dinner is on the way", he declared, brushing his hands off.

Splinter then said, "my sons, please, sit."

All four turtles sat before their adoptive father as he looked upon all of them.

Donnie asked, curiously, "what's up, sensei?"

Splinter looked to the boys and said, "you have all come a long way in your training. I am proud to see how far you have come. But, I want you all to be prepared. I will not always be around to help you. One day, I will be gone, and you must all be strong enough to deal with new foes along the way."

"Should you ever fall, father, I will lead this family", Leo replied calmly.

Raph rolled his eyes, scoffing under his breath.

Splinter then said, "never forget. You are all brothers. You must be there for one another, especially when things seem at their bleakest. You may have to forgo the things you love when lives are on the line."

Mikey asked, "even pizza?!"

Everyone looked on in fear before Splinter said, "pizza…. Is okay."

The turtles gave sighs of relief.

"Geez…. Give a guy a heart attack….", Mike wiped his head.

Splinter then said, "now my sons, take a moment to reflect on the events of your battle."

Splinter closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

But that's right when the radio sparked to life, knocking Splinter out of his calm.

"Oooh, this is my favorite song", Mikey cheered, as he got to his feet and started getting down.

Leo started bobbing his head to the beat as Donnie joined Mikey in dancing to the song.

During this, Raph started putting in a trench coat, fedora hat, a scarf, gloves and sunglasses as a disguise.

Splinter shook his head and muttered, "kids."

Leo looked to Raph and asked, "hey Raph, where ya going?"

Raph replied, "out to a movie. That okay with you?"

"Well…. Sure, I guess," Leo replied after a bit of hesitation.

Raph walked out the door as Mikey and Donnie kept dancing.

...

Later, we see Mikey sitting under a sewer grate for the pizza. We see Donnie approaching. He was tweaking with some small phone-like device.

Mikey asked, "yo, Don-Star; whatcha up to?"

"I'm working on a communication device for us to use", replied Donnie, "sorta like phones of our own, y'know?"

"Ohhh, sweet", Mikey nodded.

Donnie sat next to Mikey and said, "hey, Mikey, have you ever thought about what Splinter said? Y'know, about not having him around? Being on our own?"

Mikey got into a contemplative pose and said, "times up, three bucks off."

Donnie rolled his eyes. As far as he knew, Mike hadn't been listening to a word he said.

….

A few minutes later, the pizza guy was walking down the block, searching for the address.

Although, it was a very strange address.

"Right here", Mikey called from beneath the sewer grate as he lifted up some money through the grate.

The guy double-took at the sight of a green hand holding cash.

Mikey then said, "just slip it down here."

The man carefully slid the pizza down and took the cash. But as he held the money, he noticed there was only $10 instead of $13.

"Hey! This is $10, not $13", he shouted.

"Wise men say, forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza", Mikey replied with a chuckle.

The man rolled his eyes as he walked off with the cash.

...

Meanwhile, we see Raphael walking out of a theater in his disguise.

The film was playing older horror films. Raph had walked into Critters, much to his own confusion.

Raph muttered, "where do they come up with that stuff?"

Then again, that Scott Grimes kid had turned out pretty well.

Either way, it was an interesting movie, and it ate up plenty of time.

As Raph walked on, suddenly, a thief ran by and stole a woman's purse; running to a friend of his. Raph quickly got into their path and grabbed the purse, pulling his scarf down for a second to frighten the thieves off!

The thieves ran in fright as Raph threw the purse back to the woman before running after them through the park.

Of course, both thugs didn't realize that they would soon be entering a serious world of pain.

As they ran, a mysterious figure jumped out in front of them.

They were wasting a gruff looking hockey mask, had disheveled spiky hair poking out, and a torn up dark blue jean jacket over a black shirt and black pants. He had a variety of weapons strapped to his back.

This was Casey Jones!

The thugs took a couple steps back as Casey pulled out a baseball bat from the pack on his back.

"That…. Was a crime, you purse-grabbing pukes", said Casey, "and here's the penalty. The class is Pain 101. And your instructor is Casey Jones."

One thug grabbed a nearby branch and ran at Casey, who quickly side-stepped and hit them in the back with the bat, sending them to the ground.

Casey said, "oof, that's gotta hurt."

The other thug stood in fear.

"And THIS is gonna hurt even more", he grinned as he ran over to deal with them some more.

But before he could hit the other thug, the thug was lifted into the air by Raphael and tossed hard into a tree, knocking the thug out.

Casey said, "come on man! This was my fight!"

"Well, it looked like you were goin' a little too far back there", Raph replied, "I appreciate wantin' to keep the streets clean, but they're not too clean if they get stained with blood, are they?"

Casey replied, "bah, what would you know?"

Raph took a step forward, making Casey swing at him. This forced Raph to duck, making his hat fall off.

And that's when Casey got a good look at the turtle's face.

"What are ya, some kinda punker", Casey asked.

Raph blinked, confused, before he realized that he'd lost his hat!

Casey added, "ah, I hate punkers. Especially the bald ones with…. Green makeup, who wear masks over their ugly faces."

Raph grew angry as he realized his cover had been blown.

Raph, "that's it!"

Casey tried to hit Raph with the bat, but Raph grabbed it and asked, "a Joe Canseco bat? Tell me you didn't pay money for this?"

Raph pushed Casey back.

"It was a 2-for-1 sale, pal", Casey retorted.

Raph took the bat and warmed up, "that's it…. NEW BATTER", he exclaimed.

Casey dodged the strike Raph sent at him and said, "nice one!"

Raph tried to hit him again.

Casey retorted, "woah, and a miss!"

Raph suddenly jumped into the air and knocked Casey down with the bat.

The red-banded turtle stood over his downed opponent.

"Raphael wins! One-to-nothing", he cheered in triumph.

Casey scrambled to his feet.

"New game, round-head: Cricket", he panted.

Raph looked at him, incredulous.

"Cricket? NOBODY understands cricket", he blurted, "ya gotta know what a CRUMPET is to understand CRICKET!"

Raph started towards Casey as he said, "I'll teach ya!"

Casey hit Raph hard enough to send him into a garbage can, head first!

Raph grunted in anger as he fell over and tried to get the can off!

"See ya later, freak", Casey laughed as he took off, "I got work to do."

"FREAK", Raph sputtered as he tried to get free, "FREAK...?!"

Raph chased after Casey along the sidewalk, barely avoiding a taxi.

The guy in the taxi asked, "what was that?"

The driver replied, "looked like a turtle in a trench coat?"

The guy in the taxi simply said, "huh."

Raph yelled, "come back here! I'm not finished with you!"

Everyone in New York could practically hear Raph yell, "DAAAAAAMN!"

...

Later, we see Raph returning to the lair, a solemn expression on his face.

The others had already eaten dinner, but some slices were left for Raph when he came back.

Raph walked in and saw Splinter sitting there with a cup of tea.

Splinter turned to Raph and said, "welcome back, my son."

"Hey, Dad", Raph waved as he came inside.

"Come and sit by me", instructed Splinter.

Raph was feeling a bit agitated, especially because of what had happened.

"Couldn't this wait until morning", he asked.

But Splinter was having none of it.

"You will listen, NOW", he informed his second-born son.

Rolling his eyes, Raph decided there was no fighting this, so he had to sit and listen to what his father had to say.

Splinter set down his tea and spoke, "you are agitated. Angered. You often act first when fighting. I know how you act, but not, why do you act?"

Raph looked down, trying to find the right words.

"... I don't know, Pop…." he finally sighed. "... I just don't know..."

Splinter nodded and said, "we all go through different emotions as we grow older. Even your brothers. Michelangelo often deflects with humor. Donatello can be quite shy and neurotic. Even Leonardo, he can be overconfident in his own abilities. You have issues with your anger. But you can rise above it. Become a better version of yourself."

Raph bit back a sob as he leaned over and gave his father a hug.

Raph said, "I love you dad."

Splinter smiled as he said, "and I love you, my son."

Raph and Splinter spent the next few minutes in a comfortable silence before they proceeded to bed...

And thus begins my TMNT story, with co-writer; Sonic Thunder Saiyan Turtle! This story will follow an amalgamation of the events of the various shows, comics, and movies, and a new chapter will be released every other Friday or Saturday.

Like I said, we first follow a combo of the first movie and the 2012 show. Then we'll get a few chapters focusing on the Turtles and their friends facing the various enemies of the shows. Then we move onto a combo of Secret of the Ooze and Out of the Shadows. Then a heavily modified version of TMNT 3, and then the events of TMNT 2007. After that, we would build up a major final battle against the Turtles greatest foes.

The ships for the story:

Donnie x April

Raph x Mona

Mikey x Rennet

Leo x Karai

Zach x Shinigami

Casey x Irma

Zach is loosely based off of that kid in the 87 cartoon, who managed to find the lair, with a different personality and look than the original.
