Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Remutated
Chapter 5: Escape From New York
About a week later, we see the Turtles lounging about April's house with Zach, April and Irma.
"... I can't take it! I can't take it anymore", Raph exclaimed as he got to his feet, "I am so sick of this! I'm tired of sittin' around!"
Leo stood up and said, "Raph, calm down. We are going to find him."
Raph exclaimed, "when Leo?! Huh!? When are we gonna find dad?! Who knows what those monsters have been doing to him these past few weeks!?"
Mikey quietly got up and took the pizza out of the room, "gonna…. Gonna stay outta this", he said to himself.
Leo exclaimed, "I wanna find dad just as much as you, bu-"
Raph interrupted with, "aw, don't give me that crap! You don't get it Leo! The only person I can ever talk to about my problems is gone! And I don't even know if he's dead or not! We need to find him!"
Leo replied, "we will, but it won't do us any good if we get ourselves killed in the process!"
Raph asked, "then WHEN?! We have been sittin' on our butts, doing nothing! He could be hurt, or DEAD or somethin'!"
Leo tried to say, "Raph, please-"
Raph just grunted in anger and started making his way to the roof.
Leo looked down in worry as the others did the same.
"... Dangit, there he goes again", sighed Donnie, as he worked on Laird-03 a little more.
April added, "he's just worried about Master Splinter. We all are."
Irma, "me too. And I haven't even met him yet."
"He just needs to blow off some steam", said Donnie, "so he should be back in an hour and a half, maybe."
Mikey replied, "yeah, if we're lucky."
...
Meanwhile, on the rooftop of a nearby building, Casey was practicing swinging his hockey stick around as a weapon.
That's when he caught sight of Raph on the top of April's house.
"Hey, it's the shellhead from the other day….", Casey muttered to himself, "what's he doing up there?"
That's when Casey noticed something else.
Several figures were on the rooftops, sneaking their way towards Raph.
Casey muttered, "and, here go…."
So the hockey mask-clad brawler decided to go over and take a look for himself.
We see Raph sitting upon the roof, when he starts to hear people approach. Raph slowly put his hands over his Sai's, ready to fight back.
"Company? And I didn't make a thing", he smirked dryly, "guess you'll hafta settle for getting your butts whooped!"
The figures all revealed themselves as Foot Clan ninjas. They all ran at Raph with their weapons, and a furious battle began!
...
Back inside, Irma was the first to hear the rumble on the roof.
Irma asked, "uh, guys, does anyone else hear that?"
Donnie shrugged and said, "it's just Raph venting his anger. He'll drop back in soon enough."
Suddenly, the ceiling collapsed, and Raph plummeted in, with a massive throng of Foot Ninjas following behind!
"Fellas", asked Zach, "... I think Raph brought company!"
Zach and Irma grabbed Raph and dragged him to the edge of the room as April and the Turtles stepped forward.
One of the ninjas swung their nunchucks around.
Mikey took a step forward and said, "oh? A fellow chucker, eh?"
"Cut out the chuk-measuring contest and brain him with those things", Zach called.
Mikey nodded as the group started fighting the invaders. Zach and April pulled out their own weapons and guarded Irma and Raph from the ninjas.
As one of the ninjas tried to jump on top of Donnie, a hockey puck suddenly flew through the air and hit the ninja in the mouth, sending them to the ground.
Everyone turned to see Casey standing there in his gear.
Casey asked, "who the heck is busting up my friends house?!"
Leo asked, "who is THAT?"
Mikey suggested, "... Wayne Gretzky on steroids?"
Zach, April and Irma all exclaimed, "Casey?!"
Zach then asked, "is that a Joe Canseco bat?"
Casey muttered, "everyone's a critic."
One ninja tried to grab Irma, who quickly hit them with a frying pan she grabbed.
He turned to see Irma and said, impressed, "well…. Who is the babe?~"
The lead foot ninja raised his hand. He shouted, "ATTACK", and his ninjas obeyed without question.
Casey started hitting one of the ninjas with his bat as the Turtles fought against the others.
One of the ninjas grabbed a bisento, and ran at Donnie to stab him in the head; however, Donnie ducked down, and the knucklebrain ended up stabbing into an electrical wire, zapping himself and starting a fire in the apartment!
April yelled, "sonuva-!"
She then ran off to find the fire extinguisher, eager to put out the flames.
Zach started using his weapons to duel a ninja wielding a katana.
Zach shouted, "you got guts, man! But you better back off, before things get worse for ya!"
Their weapons clashed as April ran in and started spraying the fire as much as she could.
"These guys are like flies on a carcass", Mikey shouted as he got to his feet.
Leo exclaimed, "maybe one of them knows where Splinter is...!?"
The three turtles rushed at the ninjas while Irma and Zach stood back to back with their weapons as they guarded Raph.
April and Casey started attacking alongside the turtles.
"So try not to knock all of them out", Leo said as he caught one in a chokehold.
"I don't think that'll be a problem, Leo", Donnie called as he dunked another ninja's head in a fish tank.
Irma managed to hit another ninja with her frying pan as Zach kicked one into the wall!
Zach exclaimed, "we might wanna get outta here before the place gets destroyed by our brawl!"
"Sounds good to me", April replied, throwing another ninja aside, "grab what you can…. And MOVE IT!"
Donnie grabbed Laird-03 and put it on his shoulder as he hefted Raph onto Leo's shoulders.
Mikey grabbed the last of the pizza while Irma, Zach and April grabbed their phones.
The group began running out as Casey fended off their attackers for a few more moments before running after the others.
The ninjas then retreated from the apartment.
Casey led the group to a large pickup truck.
Casey exclaimed, "everyone get in!"
April asked, "when did you get a truck?"
Casey explained, "it belonged to my uncle. It was a gift after I got my license. Now, I suggest we start driving!"
Casey, Irma and Zach went into the front while April and the Turtles got into the back.
They saw a bunch of ninjas all over the rooftops!
Casey quickly started driving, leaving the Foot Clan to watch their enemies retreat.
Zach sighed, "so, my apartment is thrashed, and your home is kaput…. I wonder what my parents will think?"
April replied, "it's not safe for any of us in New York right now. My dad's off on a business trip, and he won't be back for another few weeks."
Irma said, "I can tell my parents I'm going on a camping trip for work. They really don't mind too much."
Zach added, "eh, same with mine."
Casey chuckled and said, "my parents don't really care what I do, as long as I don't do anything illegal and get caught."
Mikey asked, "well…. Where else are we gonna go? Those Foot guys are gonna be looking for us…."
Zach replied, "I've got a place. My family owns an old farmhouse outside of New York. We should be able to lay low until Raph is better, and we'll be ready to come back and fight."
"... okay", said April, "let's get going."
And with that, Casey drove off.
...
Meanwhile, Shredder was looking out at the kids in the lair as they continued to enjoy themselves.
Hun approached and said, "Master Shredder, we have run the turtles and their little friends out of New York! Shall we terminate the rat?"
Shredder replied, "no... I need more information from it."
Hun nodded and said, "understood."
Hun walked off as Shredder said, "soon, New York will be mine."
...
Hours later, we see the truck approaching an old farmhouse.
Donnie asked, "so, this is the place?"
"Yep", Zach replied, "it's been at least half a decade since I came up here with my family."
Leo and Mikey carefully carried Raph inside.
Leo asked, "where should we put Raph?"
Zach replied, "the bathtub should be big enough for him to rest in."
The two turtles lifted their brother into the bathtub, setting him gently down in it.
Leo said, "we can't return to New York until Raph is better."
Donnie and Mikey nodded as they walked into the living room.
Zach was sitting with April, while Irma sat with Casey.
Zach, sitting lazily on his chair, asked, "so…. What now?"
Leo suggested, "we gotta lay low. Raph needs to heal from the beatings he took from the Foot Clan, and we all need to get stronger if we wanna be able to stand against them."
"That's kinda why we're here", April replied, "the question is, how do we start?"
The others all looked down in thought for a moment.
Mikey suggested, "well, I guess we should all work on our best skills?"
Donnie replied, "great idea Mikey. I…. Didn't think I'd be saying that today…."
Leo asked, "what'd we do, step into a parallel universe?"
Mike rolled his eyes at that.
Zach then said, "well, it looks like we're gonna be staying here for a while. Training is pretty much all we have to do."
And so, they got to work.
Over the next two weeks, the turtles and their human companions got used to the farm and did various activities.
Casey would spend a lot of time working on his truck with help from Donnie and Zach.
Mikey, in-between training, would watch old cartoons on VHS.
Irma made herself useful by creating new fighting outfits for April and Zach.
Leo would spend most of the time watching over Raph.
One day, we see Donnie sitting outside of the house, working on one of Laird-03's legs, when April approaches him from behind.
"Whoa", Donnie yelped, "April? I didn't expect to get company…."
April replied, "oh! Sorry if I spooked ya. I just wanted to talk for a minute to two?"
"Sure", Donnie nodded, "the ears are open."
April sat down right next to Donnie, making the mutant blush. The two of them sat in silence for a few moments.
Donnie broke the silence with, "so…. What did you wanna talk about?"
April replied, "well, it's uh, a little difficult for me to explain..."
Donnie suggested, "at least try. No judgement here."
April began with, "well, y'see, I've uh, kind of been noticing the, uh, looks, you've been giving me."
Donnie's skin became a paler shade of green as he asked, "... really?"
April continued, "well... Yeah. You blush a lot when we talk. You stutter around me more than anyone else we know..."
Donnie nervously rubbed his hands together, "... your point being...?"
April replied, "well uh, I don't know if you've noticed, but... I uh..."
Donnie grew a confused look as April fumbled with her hands.
Donnie asked, "you…. What?"
April gulped in worry.
April tried to say, "I, uh..."
Donnie said, "April, you can talk to me, alright?"
"I know", April replied.
Donnie asked, "so, what did you wanna say?"
April stuttered, "I... I think I... Feel the same..."
Donnie's mouth went dry, but he managed to ask, "really? How would you say you feel?"
April replied, "we'll um…. It's like…. My heart flutters after we talk. I love hearing about the stuff you talk about."
Donnie's curious expression slowly turned to one of restrained excitement as he asked, "... Really? Do you mean it?"
April nodded with a small smile as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
Donnie nearly exploded with excitement at that.
With that, the two of them spent the rest of the evening sitting in a comfortable silence together...

Jinero: well, if you've watched Batman vs TMNT, they were impressed by Batman, but disagreed with his harsh ways at times. As for how they would react to Jason Todd, they would be opposed to his brand of justice. They would be notified by the Joker's actions, and his speech would just creep them out, not make them reflect on anything. Also, why do you keep bringing up Batman questions? Batman isn't even going to appear in this story. Nor are any of his sidekicks, enemies, etc. Why so many questions about Batman in a TMNT story?

….
Casey finally meets the turtles officially as the Foot Clan attack! And our heroes have to flee to the farm house.
We also get Donnie and April acting romantic.
I'm sad no-one tried to solve the code in the last chapter, so I've put it here again.
