Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Remutated
Chapter 7: The Battle for New York
We see Casey's truck slowly approaching New York as the group had a tense look about them.
They knew that they would be in for the fight of their lives.
Soon, they pulled into the city and stopped near a building.
The group began sneaking through the alleys as they kept their eyes open for any trace of the Foot Clan.
New York felt quiet, too quiet for our heroes. But suddenly, two figures jumped in front of them!
They were about to attack when the figures came out of the shadows, revealing themselves to be Karai and Shinigami!
Leo asked, "who are you?"
"Yeah", Zach added, approaching Shinigami, "I'm pretty curious about that, too."
Karai replied, "my name is Karai. This is my best friend, Shinigami. And we know where your father is."
Raph stormed forward and growled, "where the Hell is our dad?! WHERE!?"
Shinigami, "he is in the Foot Clan headquarters. We can get you in there, afterall, we were the ones who helped him contact you."
Donnie asked, "really? So that thing…. With the fire…. That was you two?"
Karai explained, "Shinigami has studied supernatural methods for years. A simple spell allowed us to help you contact your father."
"Thank you", Leo replied.
Karai replied, "you're welcome. Now, we need to split up."
Leo said back, "agreed. Me and my brothers will start a fight with the Foot as a distraction. You lead the others to find Splinter."
The others nodded as they all raced off.
The brothers all ran into the middle of the street, looking upon the rooftops. They could tell they were being watched.
And their suspicions were confirmed when they saw a large number of Foot Clan soldiers appear all around them on the rooftops.
During this, Karai and Shinigami led the others through a secret tunnel that led to the Foot Clan headquarters.
"Time to break some Foot", Raph smirked, bringing his sai out as they seemed to gleam in the moonlight.
Donnie brought out his staff and said, "that's surprisingly not redundant."
Leo brought out his katanas, sparking them up as he said, "let's make Splinter proud."
Mikey swung his nunchucks with the scicles out and said, "booyakasha!"
The Foot Soldiers turned towards the sound, their purple masks and eerie yellow eyes gleaming in the moonlight.
All of the Foot Clan soldiers ran at the turtles, ready for a fight!
...
Meanwhile, Karai and Shinigami were leading April, Zach, Casey and Irma into the headquarters of the Foot.
Zach asked, "how much further until we get there…. This armor... Is REALLY warm…."
Karai replied, "we're close. As long as we don't run into any-"
"Hello there."
Karai, "... One."
"Looks like we're having company", said Irma, glancing forwards.
They all turned to see Shredder's henchmen standing there.
Bradford, Xever, Bebop, Rocksteady and Hun all stood there, ready to attack their intruders.
April remarked, "just what we needed…. Trouble!"
"Just what you're gonna get….", sneered Rocksteady, "... a pounding!"
Zach said, "okay, that sounded SO wrong."
Shinigami replied, "agreed."
The two teens blush at one another.
Xever pulled out two knives, Bradford cracked his neck as Bebop and Rocksteady pulled out clubs, and Hun cracked his knuckles.
"Let's trash these creeps", Zach declared as he stood firmly.
April stood side by side with Zach as she said, "couldn't have said it better myself."
And so, both sides charged at each other, ready to rumble!
….
Meanwhile, the turtles were giving it their all as they battled against the forces of the Foot Clan.
Weapons clashed over and over again as the turtles slowly gained the upper hand against their enemies.
"They set up, and we knock 'em down", Mikey exclaimed as he leapfrogged over some Foot heads and conked them together.
Raph exclaimed, "these guys wobble, and we make sure they DON'T fall down!"
He proceeded to ram into several soldiers, making them all fall over.
Donnie hit his staff into the ground and began spinning around on it, kicking any ninjas that tried to get to him as he said, "roll 'em up!"
Leo moved so fast with his blades, shocking several soldiers with the spark from them, sending them flying into nearby walls.
Leo said, "shocking, ain't it?"
As Mikey began knocking down foot soldiers left and right, he shouted, "GOD, I LOVE BEING A TURTLE!"
….
Hun was going toe to toe with April, as she used her new skills in ninjitsu to run circles around the fighter.
Irma was on Rocksteady's shoulders, hitting him over the head with a frying pan over and over again.
Zach and Xever kept trading blows with their weapons, sparks flying as metal met metal.
Karai and Shinigami were working together against Bradford, as Casey had an easier time fighting against Bebop.
One by one, each fearsome foe was flattened ferociously.
Try saying that three times fast.
The group quickly made their way to where Splinter was as Shinigami and Zach started tying up the brutes.
April was so happy to see Splinter, even in his near broken state!
"April….", coughed Splinter, a bit of blood trickling from his mouth, "it…. Is good to see you…. And your friends…."
April and Casey unlocked Splinter from his restraints and helped him stand up. As they led Splinter forward, Karai and Shinigami approached.
Splinter said, "thank you for your help."
Karai smiled and said, "it was our pleasure."
But as the group walked forward, they were surrounded by the kids the kids the clan had been training!
However, the recruits were not so sure they wanted a fight. Most of them were milling around in confusion, and some actually seemed pleased that the big lugs had fallen.
Not so the older thugs. One, the leader of the youths who had set upon April in the parking lot, growled at the others to back him up.
"Well, why are we just standing here? Let's get him", he declared.
Casey hefted the club.
He asked thickly, "you gonna be first, junior?"
The youth hesitated. Casey, Irma, April, and Zach were wounded and dazed, after all, but he had managed to floor Bradford, and Xever, and Hun, and Bebop, AND Rocksteady.
"They can't stop us all", he snarled.
Nobody moved.
"Look what he did to sensei Bradford", declared the youth angrily.
"Bradford", put in a boy scornfully, "he killed Shinsho."
There was a murmur from the other kids. That got home to them more deeply than anything that had been said so far.
The head youth was not ready to back down.
"That was an accident", he snapped.
Still nobody moved. He played his trump card:
"We took an oath of loyalty. The Shredder is our master."
Splinter had been recovering his strength. Now he spoke, and the teenagers were as rocked by his clear, level tones as much as by the sight of a talking rat.
"The Shredder uses you", he informed them, "he poisons your minds to obtain that which he desires. He cares nothing for you, or for the people you hurt. Forget your oath of loyalty; there is no dishonour in turning against an evil master."
The rest of the group were affected by Splinter's words, but still the head thug refused to give up. He had not forgotten that when he was in prison, it was the Shredder who had him bailed out.
"We're a family", he cried.
Irma asked, incredulous, "a family? A family?"
She made a fierce sweeping gesture that included the contraband-stuffed warehouse, the unconscious criminal quintet, and the prison where Splinter had been chained, "is this the kind of 'family' you really want?"
Casey joined her and said, "you call all of this, right here? That, down there; family?"
Karai said, "the Shredder is my father…. But he is not my family. He never gave me the love and affection any child deserves from their parents. I would gladly follow this group into the jaws of death, then follow a man who beats on his own men."
The youths all looked at one another... And finally, they parted, allowing the group to exit without further obstruction.
Shinigami said, "come on, let's go find your sons…."
….
Meanwhile, the turtles had found themselves standing atop a large building, fighting off the remaining foot clan soldiers as they retreated!
The turtles all high fived each other and began cheering!
But none of them saw the shadow casting on the area behind them. What they did notice was a loud thumping noise, as someone jumped behind them.
They all turned to see the Shredder himself, still in his cape.
He said, "impressive…. For teenage mutants. But now, the game is over. Now you face…. The Shredder!"
Donnie whispered, "The Shredder?"
Mikey shrugged and said, "uh, maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?"
The Shredder undid his cape and showed the fierce looking armor he wore underneath it, brandishing his blades against one another as he stared down our four heroes.
Shredder reached out his hand. One of the Foot behind him tossed him a six-foot-long bo staff. He twirled it in a display of martial elegance, then set himself for battle.
"I got 'im", Raph announced confidently. He leapt at the Shredder with both sais. The staff swung round, catching Raph and sending him flying back to land flat on his shell, more surprised than hurt.
"Whuh-oh….", said Mikey. He didn't like the idea of a foe who was good enough to simply toy with them.
Leo went in next, more warily, after he had seen the ease with which the Shredder handled Raph. Alas, he fared no better. A double swipe with the shaft of the bo sent him reeling.
Donnie and Mikey looked at each other. One of them would have to try next, even though there didn't seem to be much hope. They had never faced an opponent so skilled in ninjutsu before.
Mikey suggested, "flip ya for it?"
Donnie pulled out a coin and flipped it in the air, saying, "heads", as it landed on his palm.
It was heads down.
Donnie said, "damn!"
Mikey said, "great!"
Mikey got ready to face the Shredder.
….
Meanwhile, everyone else was gathering around outside of the building as April and Casey helped Splinter walk along.
With Zach and the others close by. Zach kept glancing at Shinigami, thinking her gothic attire was very attractive.
"Nice….", he muttered to himself, admiring her look.
Shinigami looked at him, making him turn away with a blush.
As she looked at him, she thought, 'he's kinda cute.'
Casey pointed up at the rooftop and said, "some family, huh?"
….
The four turtles were huddled together and out of breath as Shredder stood before them, twirling his staff.
Mikey muttered, "okay…. I'm just gonna ask…. At what point…. Did we lose control here?"
Leo said, "all I know is one thing…. This guy took Splinter. So we gotta take him down!"
All four turtles rose to their feet and ran at Shredder with a battlecry!
….
Casey said, "it looks like your boys are gonna-"
But the others were shocked to see that Splinter was gone!"
Irma asked, "uh, where'd he go?"
….
The Turtles were still not making any headway against Shredder, and they were getting exhausted.
He was running them ragged as they couldn't manage to get a single hit on him!
….
As the fight continued, Casey noticed some foot soldiers sneaking towards the fight.
He chuckled and said, "oh boy, leftovers."
Casey's eyes drifted to a nearby garbage truck. He quickly ran towards it!
….
The turtles continued to get their shells handed to them as they tried to land even a single hit on the Shredder.
….
As the foot soldiers tried to reach the top of the building, Casey used the garbage truck to crash into the ladder, yelling, "YEEHAW!"
The crash caused the foot soldiers to fall into the alleyway and scatter!
….
The turtles now all stood before the Shredder, breathing heavily.
Raph growled out, "where's Splinter?"
Shredder said, "ah…. The rat…."
The turtles all looked intently at Shredder as he said, "so it has a name…. It did…."
Leo yelled, "you lie!"
The Shredder mocked Leo and said, "do I?"
Leon grew so enraged that he blindly attacked the Shredder, who knocked him to the ground, and pointed his blades at him.
He looked up at the other turtles and said, "he dies!"
The turtles froze in place.
Shredder growled out, "weapons."
Reluctantly, The turtles threw their weapons, with Raph being the first to do so.
Mikey's nunchucks got stuck on the ladder right above the garbage truck.
Shredder said, "a shame. You could have defeated me, but with the loss of one. Now your deaths…. Will be his!"
He went to stab Leo as the others yelled, "NOOOO!"
But then, they all heard a familiar voice yell, "ENOUGH!"
They all turned to see Splinter there, clutching a cane to steady himself.
Mikey yelled, "Splinter!"
Leo quickly got away from the Shredder and back to his brothers.
Splinter said, "yes…. Aroku Saki. I know your name. When we fought, many moons ago, in my home! After you sliced off part of my ear, I scratched your face! And you caused the death of my beloved wife! And daughter!"
Recognition lit up in his eyes, as the Shredder took a shaking hand and removed the metal piece over his mouth, showing his disfigured and scratched face.
Leo whispered, "it's him…."
He growled out, "you…."
Splinter said, "I am; HAMATO YOSHI!"
The Shredder said, "now…. I will finish what I began with your ear!"
The Shredder began running at Splinter with a yell of pure rage!
But Splinter quickly grabbed Mikey's nunchucks and grabbed the Shredder's spear, and the two were locked in place as the Shredder was now hanging over the garbage truck, the nunchucks holding the spear the only thing keeping him from falling!
Splinter said, "death. It comes for us all, Aroku Saki. But when your death comes, it will be far worse. For your death will be-"
Shredder tried to stab Splinter, thus causing the nunchucks to loosen, and Shredder yelled as he fell down into the top of the garbage truck below them!
As he landed, Splinter finished with, "without honor."
Irma quickly pulled the lever of the trick and yelled, "oops!"
Everyone watched as the truck seemingly crushed the Shredder, as no normal man could survive something like that!
Up on the rooftop, the turtles all embraced Splinter with tears of joy. Their family reunited. That's when the police began to show up, surrounding the area to see what was going on.
The foot clan members gladly began telling them about everything the foot did.
Casey and Irma stood next to one another at the foot of the building.
April and Zach saw them and grew knowing smiles.
Zach then saw Shinigami and Karai standing nearby.
He approached and asked, "what're you both gonna do now?"
Karai replied, "I'm going to try to make up for my father's sins. Help the turtles find a new home."
Shinigami, "same here. Where she goes, I go. I guess that means we'll all be working together, hmm?"
Zach blushed and said, "y-yeah, great."
"Personally…. I can't wait to get started~", Shingami smirked at Zach, whose face was bright-red.
"Yeah…. Same here", he nodded.
Meanwhile, Casey looked at Irma and said, "that was really cool, by the way. You, pulling the lever…."
Irma smirked and said, "thanks. So, do I get a reward for my bravery?"
"Hmm…. You tell me", Casey replied as he leaned over and gave her a kiss.
The turtles began cheering as they saw them kiss!
Raph yelled, "alright Casey!"
Mikey shouted, "my man!"
Donnie exclaimed, "you got it!"
Leo roared, "yes!"
The turtles turned to one another.
Leo said, "we were awesome!"
Raph said, "more like, amazing!"
Mikey, "Booyakasha!"
Donnie said, "tubular!"
The turtles looked at Donnie, as Mikey asked, "tubular?"
Splinter cleared his throat.
All of the turtles looked at Splinter as he said, "I have always liked…. Cowabunga."
The turtles smiled as they all high fived and yelled, "COWABUNGA!"
Splinter laughed and said, "hahaha! I made a funny! Hahaha!"
Things were definitely going to change for the better in New York City….
