Part 2 is here!
When they finally reached the Flynn-Fletcher house, hand in hand, they were thrown into chaos.
"What do you mean you knew all this time, Lawrence?! And you never bothered to tell me about this?"
"Well, I did ask you many times, dear, and you always seem okay about it."
"What's going on?" Phineas asked.
"Your mom's having an existential crisis."
"What Buford meant to say is she never knew about your inventions and is now a little shocked at their scale." Bajeet answered with a glare at Buford.
"And now that mom found out, you two are so busted!" Candace said, gleefully but she suddenly sees their hands. "You two are holding hands?"
"Yeah." Phineas said, looking back at their hands. Suddenly the whole room's focus was on them.
"In public?" Candace asked again.
"Yes….?"
Suddenly the Fireside girls started crowding around them.
"Are you dating now?"
"Did Isabella tell her feelings?"
"Are you two boyfriend and girlfriend now?"
"Did you guys kiss?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! We're not dating yet!" Phineas waved his hands in front of him, flustered and unconsciously letting go of her hand. "We're just- we are-"
"We're still trying to figure out what we want." Isabella said, much to the disappointment of others. "Sorry guys, no dating yet."
"Well, it is better than him being completely oblivious." Ferb stated.
"Hey, Ferb?" Phineas moved towards his brother, leaving Isabella with the girls. "Sorry for just leaving you here like that. I wasn't thinking and it must have been a shock for you too."
Ferb shrugged. "You always were the dramatic one between us."
Phineas chuckled at that. "Well someone's chatty."
Just then, Linda and Lawrence came back to the TV room.
"Alright boys, it seems we had a bit of a misunderstanding last summer. You two are busted but I will decide how severe it will be based on what I see and just how dangerous it was." Linda said. "I also know that I haven't seen any of these inventions in real life so I want Candace, Stacy, Jeremy and Vanessa to help me know just how dangerous it was."
"Wait, why me?" Vanessa asked while Candace celebrated in the back. "I wasn't even here for half of it."
"Yes, but you seem to know a bit more than us." Lawrence said. "And there is the situation with Perry being a secret agent."
"We're not aware of the… magnitude of that situation." Linda said, somewhat unconvincingly.
"If you're wondering if Perry is dangerous, he's not. He would never hurt anyone without reason." Vanessa said defensively.
"That's right! Perry would never hurt anyone here." Stacy said.
"And how would you know that?" Candace asked, pausing her celebration for a bit.
"I-uh" Stacy floundered for a bit before an excuse came to her. "Think about it. If he wanted to hurt you he would have done it already. But he didn't!"
All seem to accept her logic except for Vanessa who narrowed her eyes in suspicion.
"Alright, I'm sure we will get all the answers if we watch this cartoon." Lawrence said as everyone started taking their places. "Let's get this show on the road, my boy."
Ferb unpaused the screen, where Perry is in his lair getting his mission.
"As always Agent P, it is important that your cover identity as a mindless domestic pet remains intact." The white-haired mustache man said.
"Gee, we didn't notice." Phineas said, still a little bitter.
"Who exactly is this?" Isabella asked, having missed Perry's lair entrance.
"That's Perry's boss, Major Monogram." Vanessa answered.
"I think I might a met him once." Jeremy thought out loud.
"Now, get out there. We're all counting on you."
Perry, or rather Agent P jumps into a platypus-themed hovercraft and flies tough a tunnel.
Doo-bee-doo-bee-doo-bah, doo-bee-doo-bee-doo-bah. Doo-bee-doo-bee-doo-bah, doo-bee-doo-bee-doo-bah.
"Oh, I always did wonder if that song was real." Vanessa said.
"What's wrong with this song?" Candace asked.
"It's comedy gold if you know both of Perry's personas. It's actually his theme song."
"Perry has a theme song?!"
He leaves through a stone when suddenly he notices the two boys working on the rollercoaster. Slightly panicked, he holds his fedora down to hide from Phineas and Ferb.
"So, the way I see it, the fuel rockets kick in at the mall's parking lot, then we release the snakes during the corkscrew at the interstate." Phineas says as the boys remain oblivious to their pet platypus. "I'm gonna go get the snakes."
"Why on earth would you need snakes for a rollercoaster?!" Linda asked.
"To make it more fun!"
Linda looked like she was going to pass out, but Lawrence calmly tried to soothe her.
He walks back to the supplies while Ferb puts on his mask and starts using the blowtorch.
Cut to Candace running into the store to get her Mom.
"Mom! You gotta come home, right now." She said urgently.
"Did a satellite crash into the house?" Linda asks as she keeps putting supplies into her cart.
"No, no, no. You gotta see what Phineas and Ferb are doing."
"Seems like we've had this conversation before."
"What do you mean?" Candace said, offended.
"I seem to recall you telling me that the boys were training monkeys to juggle bicycles, and when I come home, there was a stunning lack of monkeys."
"I still don't know how they cleaned that up so fast."
"A traveling zookeeper asked if she could have the monkeys for an exhibit. We said yes."
Linda looked pained at recalling this. Not actually at her boys' antics. As far as it went, teaching monkeys to juggle bicycles did not appear to be too dangerous. But Candace had tried to tell her what was going on, and she didn't believe her own daughter.
And considering the list of things Candace has told her, Linda will have a lot of making up to do.
"So, what's the emergency this time?"
"They're building a roller coaster!"
"Candace, seriously, isn't Phineas a little young to be a roller coaster engineer?"
Cut to Phineas and a man in a car factory.
"Aren't you a little young to be a roller coaster engineer?" the factory manager asked Phineas as Ferb continues to work on the rollercoaster in the back.
"Whoever made these has a great sense of humour." Lawrence said.
"Yes. Yes, I am."
The manager blinks before continuing "Well, I must say, I'm very impressed, the forms all seems to be in order, although I'd never seen them filled out in crayon before. So, if there's anything I can get you, anything at all, just let me know."
"Oh god. How can they just accept it like that?" Linda asked, horrified at their complete lack of care.
"Well, we did give the right paperwork." Ferb said.
"You do realize that R is spelled backward, right?" Holly pointed out.
"Do you think we could borrow one of those gadgets?" A robot arm is shown fixing a car.
Cut to Phineas and Ferb riding the roller coaster along the tracks that are being built by the robot arm. "Now, this is the life."
"How can that possibly be safe?" Linda asked in distress.
"Don't worry Mrs. Flynn-Flecther. Phineas and Ferb defy the rules of physics almost every day." Baljeet said.
"That does not make me feel better."
They travel through the town near the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated building. The camera pans to Agent P swinging into the building through the window.
"Ah, Perry the Platypus, what an unexpected surprise." Doofenshmirtz said dramatically. "And by unexpected, I mean: COMPLETELY EXPECTED!" Doofenshmirtz presses a button, which activates arms that grabs Agent P.
"Hey! What's he doing to Perry?" Phineas yelled, worried.
"Don't worry. Dad never hurts him too much." Vanessa reassured them. "And even if he did Perry always gives back twice as hard."
"I, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, have covered the entire eastern seaboard in tin foil, and when I put my giant magnet, next to my genius, Magnetism Magnifier, I will pull the East, in westerly direction, thereby reversing the rotation of the earth." He monologues. Meanwhile, Perry smacks his head against the hands to free himself, but it's no use.
Even though Vanessa's words made them a little better, Phineas and Ferb were still worried. All they could think about was the little platypus they adopted who couldn't even flip himself over when on his back.
He looks down suddenly to see a small screw next to him. He looks up to the ceiling lines, already formulating a plan. "You may ask yourself, why would he do this? What could he possibly have to gain? Well, let me just answer that question, I haven't really worked on all the bugs yet. I mean, tin foil alone costs a lot."
"That plan wouldn't work though." Ginger said. "Newton's law wouldn't allow it."
"Yes, not to mention tin foil could just as easily be removed by the magnet since he only used it to cover the eastern seaboard." Baljeet added.
"Does the laws of physics even work since Phineas and Ferb already broke a few of them?" Katie countered.
Back at the store.
"But, Mom, I'd tell you, they're building it, and it's huge!" Candace says, trying to convince her mom. Behind them, Candace sees Ferb puts up a poster and comes over to read it.
""Phineas and Ferb present the Coolest Coaster Ever now open"? Mom!" She runs off to bring her mom only for some kids to see the poster.
"You let other kids ride it?" Linda exclaimed, thinking about the catastrophe if their rollercoaster wasn't safe.
"Well, we couldn't just have fun by ourselves."
"Phineas and Ferb got a roller coaster? You think we get a discount if we bring the flier?"
"Maybe we better take it." They take it with them just as Candace brings Linda over.
"Phineas! What would you think would happen if something happened to all you kids!" Linda demanded.
"Well, we did put safety precautions." Phineas said carefully, not wanting to anger his mother. "The cartoon is just not showing them all."
"There, look, look, look, see? I told you I'm not crazy, I told you!" She said, gesturing toward the empty post, head turned away.
"And you're not crazy because...?" Linda asked dryly. Candace turns toward the post where the poster was and screams. "I see your point, Candace. No crazy person would scream at a post like that. I'll be at the dairy section if you wanna come yell at some cheese or anything."
"You really do have the worst luck ever, Candace." Stacy said, patting Candace on her shoulder.
"I don't get why it only ever happens to Candace, though." Phineas said.
"It's like I said before. The whole universe is just against me."
"Don't be ridiculous, Candace. The whole universe can't be against you." Linda said.
"Oh, like all the other times I was ridiculous?" Candace asked, a little harshly if the way her mom flinched was any hint. "Sorry mom, can we just watch this thing." She said tiredly.
At the Flynn-Fletcher house, where the start of the coaster is a stage is set up. Ferb lets the kids into a tent and he walks up to the microphone set up on the stage as if he's about to speak. But then steps out of the way as Phineas comes up from under the stage. He grabs the microphone as disco lights shine and rock music plays as he talks.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages! May I present to you a spectacle most of the morning in the making: The Coolest...Coaster...EVER!"
Ferb pulls a rope and reveals the coaster with its immense height. A bird crashes into it as it flies by.
"Oh. My. God." Candace said. She hadn't seen the first drop and was impressed and slightly scared at its height.
The others who haven't seen the rollercoaster were also having a similar reaction, Linda especially. She didn't know how much of this was cartoon exaggeration and how much was real.
"So, who wants to go first?" Everyone raises their hands to his question.
On the rollercoaster, Phineas is explaining the safety precautions as they travel to the top. "To fasten, insert the tab into the metal buckle. To release, just pull back on the—oops." He accidentally drops the safety belt and it falls in a morbid show of the height.
"PHINEAS!"
"That didn't actually happen?" he said, unsuccessfully trying to not get in trouble with his mom.
"Well, you get the picture. Well, that's about it. Enjoy the ride."
The car goes to the top and stops, viewing the long drop. "You all signed the waivers, right?" The car goes down the track, and everyone screams. The ride is absolutely crazy, going loops and turns and zig-zags around Danville. Suddenly, a bunch of snakes falls on them.
"Relax, they're just rubber!" Phineas says at their screams.
"So they were rubber snakes." Linda sighed in relief.
"Of course it was. You didn't think we would put actual snakes, did you, mom?"
"I'm not sure what I should think anymore."
The car goes into a bucket of mud, then exits. Later, it goes through a car wash, to be cleaned from the mud.
"Hey, look, there comes the AH-AH-AH-AH!" Phineas said, suddenly. The track is going up and down repeatedly, creating four "AH"s from its passengers. The car zooms around the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated building.
Watching the screen now Candace couldn't help but begrudgingly admit it was kind of fun. She looked to her brothers who seem to be re-enjoying the adventure all over again just by watching. She was always so obsessed with busting them that there were only a few times she had actual fun with them. Maybe now that their mom finally saw everything, she could finally stop being the crazy older sister and have some fun alongside them.
After they get busted, of course.
Back in the DEI building, Perry is still restrained, not particularly listening to Doofenshmirtz's rambling.
"...I really make of my money back, I-I-I want a really spacey real estate, and sell it again." Doofenshmirtz kept talking not noticing Agent P's actions. Agent P sends a screw at Doofenshmirtz with his tail, who ducks. "Ha! You missed!"
The screw flies to the roof and hits a line, which throws it back at Doofenshmirtz's foot. "Aaaoow! Ow, Ow, Ow, Aaooww!"
"Wow! Amazing use of practical math!" Baljeet complimented.
Doofenshmirtz jumps around and accidentally releases Agent P, who quickly attacks him. Doofenshmirtz takes a wench to attack Agent P but Agent P blocks the attack with another wrench. They parry with the wrenches and Agent P hits the screw on Doofenshmitz's foot. "Aaaoow!"
"Go, Perry!" Phineas cheered along with Ferb. "No offense Vanessa."
"Nah, Dad gets a lot worse than that. This is nothing." She reassured.
"I don't get it. Weren't you mad at your platypus just a few minutes ago?" Buford asked.
"Well, yeah. And we will be asking him a lot of questions when he comes back. But just because I'm mad at him doesn't mean I won't cheer him on."
Phineas's words struck a chord with Linda. It was true that she was mad at their dangerous creations but it was also amazing her boys could something this structurally sound. Even if she was angry shouldn't she also encourage their talents?
During the fight, Doofenshmirtz activates the Magnetism Magnifier. "Now you are too late! Quake in your boots and watch helplessly, as the unimaginable electromagnetic forces, pull the eastern seaboard, thereby reversing the rotation of the Ea—"
All the tin foil releases from the buildings, leaving it unscathed. "Well... that didn't work."
Everyone was silent as they watched the coming disaster. Everyone except Baljeet.
"Hah! I told you so!"
"Isn't your father a high school science teacher?" Ferb asked while Baljeet gloated about his correct prediction. Vanessa shrugged.
"He teaches by the book… mostly."
The tin foil forms into a giant ball, flying through the air towards them.
"And now, we have a two-ton ball of tin foil traveling 200 miles per hour directly at us! Quickly, we must separate the magnet from the Magnifier before it's too late!"
"Strange… I don't remember hearing about a giant ball of tin foil." Lawrence said.
"Strange things like this always happen in Danville." Adyson said. "It's best to not ask about it."
Back at the store, Linda is at the checkout with Candace. "Now I know I have that club card in here somewhere. I always have it with me, but my purse is a disaster area, you know how it is."
While Linda was talking Candace hears the kids' screams and goes outside to sees the coaster going through the parking lot. "Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh! Mom? Mom!?"
"I knew it! See mom, I told you it was there!" Candace exclaimed.
"Well, how did it disappear from there when I looked?" Linda asked, genuinely curious.
Back at Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated building.
"It's no use! It's no use! We are doomed!" Agent P sees a helicopter while trying to separate the magnet. He jumps onto the magnet, fires a grappling hook at it, and quickly wraps some of the rope around the magnet. The helicopter flies off, taking the magnet with it.
"You did it! You saved us, Perry the Platypus!" Doofenshmirtz yelled out only for the ball of tin foil to crash through the building. "Curse you, Perry the Platypus!"
Everyone, except Vanessa, flinched as the ball hit the building.
"See? Told you he had worse." She said carelessly.
"How is he still alive?" Isabella asked, horrified.
"He's a lot stronger than he looks."
The magnet pulls a piece of the Magnetism Magnifier onto it and gets stuck on the coaster, which then follows the helicopter into the sky.
Candace pulls Linda into the parking lot, not noticing the coaster has been removed. "Look, look, look, see?"
"Okay, I give up, what am I supposed to be looking at?" Linda asked after a pause.
Candace turned to see the empty parking lot and yelled. "No! It's not POSSIBLE!"
"I'm gonna go get the cart."
"IT WAS RIGHT HERE AND IT WAS HUGE!" She turns and sees the rollercoaster fly away. "MOM!"
"So that's how it happened." Candace said, watching the scene unfold. "I'm not sure if I should blame Perry or Vanessa's dad."
"Or maybe you can blame your bad luck." Stacy stated.
"Time to go. I've got frozens." Linda said, ignoring her.
"Okay, so you think that Phineas and Ferb are still under that stupid tree in the backyard, right?" Candace asked.
"Well, yes, that would be my guess."
"Fine, then let's go home, now!" she said, pushing the cart urgently.
"You do know that would not prove we had made the rollercoaster. Just that we weren't present, right?" Ferb said reasonably but backed away when Candace glared at him.
Meanwhile, Agent P sees that the helicopter is smoking because of the strain and cuts the rope. He drops down onto the coaster and in the cart, right behind Phineas and Ferb. He seemed surprised for a moment, still in his agent mode.
"He looks so surprised." Candace said, still shocked at the range of emotions their pet platypus has shown.
"Oh, there you are, Perry." Phineas said, turning around. Perry chatters while in his pet mode.
"Nice hat, Isabella." Isabella takes off Agent P's fedora from her head and looks at it, confused.
"So that's where that came from." Isabella said.
"What did you do with it, Isabella?" Gretchen asked.
"Nothing. It went missing the next day."
The car goes to the end of the track, through the streets, and flies onto a construction area, flinging into the air.
"Funny, I don't remember this in the blueprints." Phineas said. An airplane suddenly picks up the car by the tail. "And I'm sure this is new."
Candace looks up from Linda's car and sees the airplane with the rollercoaster. "Hehehehehehehehehehe!"
"I worry about you sometimes, Candace."
"Gee, thanks." Candace said sarcastically.
The coaster car drops down from the airplane and onto the Statue of Liberty's flame, bending and throwing the ride towards Mount Rushmore. The coaster circled around Roosevelt's glasses and gets flung towards the woods. It lands on a pine tree that bends so they end up in front of Mr. Slushy Burger.
"Welcome to Mr. Slushy Burger, may I take your order?"
"Ah! It's you Jeremy!"
"Anyone want fries?"
Before taking any orders, the tree bends back and throws them to France, Paris.
"Croissant?" the French Man asked.
"Anyone want a..."quasson"?" Phineas asked in a French accent.
"You went to France?" Lawrence asked.
"No- well, not that day. I'm pretty sure this is just cartoon logic."
The car gets flung again, into orbit. A satellite flies by them. "You know, if that thing crashes into earth, Candace is in charge."
The car suddenly falls towards the earth, towards the Tri-State area. The front of the car begins to burn like a meteor. "We should have charged more." Phineas said, not worried at all.
"Yup. Definitely cartoon logic." Phineas confirmed, alleviating some of Linda's worries.
Linda pulls the car on the driveway and Candace jumps out. "Okay, we're here, are you happy now, Candace?"
Horror music plays as Candace opens the gate to the backyard and doesn't see Phineas or Ferb. "Yes! See, Mom? I told you they weren't there!"
Candace opens the gate and gestures toward the tree with her eyes closed, as a sound of leaves rustling is heard. Linda pokes her head through the gate opening and smiles. "Oh, hi, boys."
Candace opens her eyes and her mood changes to shock. Cut to under the tree to show Phineas and Ferb are suddenly here. "Hi, Mom."
"I thought you were exaggerating Candace, but it seems the universe really doesn't want your mom to see all this." Lawrence said, amazed at the timing.
"But what happened to the rollercoaster?" Linda asked.
"Come on Candace, help me with the groceries." Linda drags Candace away as she continues to mutter "But, but, but,… " under her breathe. "Let's go."
Just as they left, kids drop down from the top of the tree. "Hey Phineas, that was great." "Way too cool." "That was awesome! Can we do it again?"
"Sorry, only one ride per customer." Phineas said. The ride had crashed into the tree, still burning.
"So that's where it went. How did I not see it?" Linda asked herself.
"That was great, Phineas." Isabella said, coming down from the tree. "So, what are you gonna do tomorrow?"
"Don't know yet."
"Maybe you could teach Perry some tricks." She said, petting Perry.
"Well, he is a platypus, they don't do much."
"Well, he does do a lot, it seems." Phineas said, still a little miffed.
"They're the only mammals to lay eggs." Ferb said and a pause came.
"...Maybe he'll lay an egg." Phineas said.
"Actually, that is not correct. There are other mammals, like the echidna, or spiny anteater, that can lay eggs." Baljeet said. "They are called monotremes."
"Ferb?" Phineas asked for confirmation.
"He's right. I didn't know about it back then."
"Cool. See you tomorrow." Isabella goes to the gate, looking back one more time. "It really was the coolest coaster ever. You guys make a great team."
"Well, a brother is a brother, but I couldn't have asked for a better one than Ferb. You know what I mean?" Ferb burps rudely after Phineas's speech causing him to cover his nose. "Oh-ho-ho, man! I could smell the peanut butter!"
"Well, that was impressive." Isabella said, rolling her eyes. "See you, guys."
"So, what should we do tomorrow? There's a world of possibilities." Phineas asked Ferb. "Maybe we should make a list!"
The coaster car instantly explodes in the tree. A car alarm and a dog barking can be heard.
"Mom!" Candace's voice yelled out from inside.
"Give it a rest, Candace!"
"How did you not hear that Mrs. Flynn-Flecther?" Holly asked incredulously.
"I thought it was someone lighting fireworks." Linda said, blushing because of her obliviousness.
The tinfoil ball rolls by in the background.
"Well, that was fun." Vanessa said, after finishing the cartoon.
"And it's going to be even more fun now." Candace said gleefully. "So mom? They're busted, right? What's their punishment? No TV for 3 weeks? Grounded for a month? Doing all chores for all summer?"
"Or maybe they'll be sent to military school." Stacy said, knowing about Candace's dream. Candace stiffen when she remembered that dream.
"You're not going to send them to military school, right mom?" she asked, suddenly scared for her brothers. She pulled both of them towards her before Linda could answer. "Cause I swear to god, I will get them out! I don't care how annoying they are! There is no way I'm gonna let them go somewhere that will turn them into mindless robots! Not on my life!"
Phineas and Ferb smiled at each other from her arms. This was the reason they didn't mind getting busted. They knew no matter what their sister will always be there for them in the end.
"Calm down Candace. No one is sending anyone to military school." Lawrence reassured.
"And as for their punishment, I still have some questions to ask." Linda said. "Boys, why did you think building a rollercoaster was not dangerous?"
"Well, we had all the papers in place and all the safety precautions were there too even if it wasn't shown in the cartoon." Phineas said.
"We also had done and triple-checked the research and calculations for it." Ferb added.
Linda sighed at her son's response. She technically couldn't find any fault. "You are just too young to build these things."
"Joah Collins had once said that age is just a number." Bajeet said and suddenly everyone was looking at him. He shrunk into himself at all the attention. "Sorry, continue."
"Baljeet is right, though." Lawrence said. "Just because they are young doesn't mean we should question their skills. I have seen some of their inventions and they are structurally sound as far as I'm concerned."
"Wait, does this mean they are not busted?" Candace asked suddenly.
"Oh, they are most definitely busted. We just want to make sure just how many of them can be considered dangerous."
"Back yard beach, Time machine, a portal to mars, supercomputer, rocket ship, giant robot dog, alien spaceship, transporters, Football X-7, Jelly monster, do I need to go on?" she asked sarcastically, counting on her hand.
"Wow. I didn't think any of them were that dangerous." Phineas said.
"If I had to pick one it would be the brain booster hat that you made for Baljeet." Isabella said.
"Nah, it was definitely the escape tower!" Buford said.
One by one all of them started mentioning things they thought could be dangerous while Candace just waved her hand towards them as if to say 'I told you so'.
"Alright, kids, I get it." Linda said trying to calm them down. "We will watch the rest of these and then I'll decide everything."
"Wait, there's still one question left unanswered." Katie said. "Who sent this to us?"
Just as she said that the TV switched on.
