In a downtown jewelry store, during the night, everything was normal. Things seemed to be calmer than imagined. Suddenly, the sound of an explosion was heard. The most obvious scene of a robbery. But not from a group of ordinary robbers. Inside the store, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Icestreak, Star Sapphire, Catwoman, Giganta and Livewire kept walking, looking at everything that was happening. Icestreak froze the guards, with Giganta ripping out the safe from inside the store, with Harley using her sledgehammer to break the display glass and steal the jewelry, with Livewire disabling the security cameras. Catwoman began to pilfer each of the goods, with Star Sapphire creating a bag large enough for them to take with them, while the guards looked at each other, though they were frozen, perplexed by what had happened.
Their next target was a car dealership. Stealing a convertible, Livewire began to demonstrate their powers, activating the car's engine, as they set off to a museum, destroying everything around, and then, they set off to a zoo, in which they painted "free the animals", graffiting some things around.
Then they all stopped at a restaurant, taking a break. The conversation was all about the differences between Gotham and Metropolis, with each villain taking the opportunity to ask Harley about certain things.
(Pam) - Hey, what do you call a carbonated beverage?
(Harleen) - Soda.
(Doris) - We say pop.
(Jason) - What do you guys call a drinking fountain?
(Harleen) - Bubbler.
(Selina) - We say water fountain.
(Leslie) - What do you call the televisions?
(Harleen) - Tele.
(Doris) - What do you call those insects that light up?
(Harleen) - Uh, fireflies.
(Selina) - We call them fireflies here too.
(Harleen) - You know, this is all fun even. Eating in a nice restaurant, surrounded by fancy music. It's so peaceful. Quietly peaceful. - Suddenly, the group stopped eating dinner. - Is everyone finished? - That question was enough for the villains to destroy the restaurant and take to the streets again.
Sweet Justice...
After the latest events, Diana, Johnny, Zee, Karen, Kara, and Jessica were having ice cream, trying to pull themselves together. The boy couldn't understand his own powers. It seemed that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't fully control his abilities. But as he let his emotions show, it was as if there was something different about him. An unusual control of himself and his own gifts.
(Diana) - Are you ok?
(Johnny) - That was a hard day today. - He looks at the ice cream, while continuing to drink it. Slowly, one of his hands started to emanate energy, making him worried. - I'd be happy for that to be my best performance, but there's no way. My power seems to manifest at the wrong times.
(Zee) - Are you still worried about Barbara?
(Johnny) - She was the first friend I ever made here in Metropolis. And the fact that I blew up like that was enough to make me feel guilty. What do I do to deal with that?
(Diana) - We can't contain our emotions, but we know we should be careful what can happen. - Slowly, Jess looked at him, worried.
(Jess) - She's going to come to us. I can feel it. - Suddenly, they heard the sound of a car driving past them, which didn't go unnoticed, seeing the villains riding in it.
(Doris) - Nerds!
-The count, please! - Everyone spoke at the same time and left the place, hiding behind an alley, feeling something different before everything that was happening. The group dynamic seemed to have become strange, in face of everything that had happened.
(Johnny) - This is getting ridiculous!
(Diana) - Come on, siblings. To battle!
(Jessica) - But what about Babs?
(Diana) - Batgirl will join us when she is ready. - Johnny gave a smug smile on his face, looking at everything around.
(Johnny) - Although if we're going to do that, we have to do it with style! - In this way, he began the transformation sequence.
Snapping his fingers on his left arm, Johnny conjured his costume, giving way to Atlas. Zee then used her magic, allowing herself to be enveloped by it, revealing the presence of Zatanna. Diana then, revealed her battle suit, giving way to the protector of the World of Men, princess of the Amazons, Wonder Woman. Jessica Cruz wore her ring, showing her heroic identity as Green Lantern. Karen activated her necklace, putting on the technological costume she had developed herself, transforming into Bumblebee. Lastly, Kara pulled on the clothes she was wearing, revealing her heroine costume, becoming Supergirl. The Super Hero Girls, together once again.
Through the streets, the group began searching for the villains, getting a little fearful of what might happen to them. Diana took the lead, with Atlas, Zatanna, Supergirl, Green Lantern and Bumblebee siding with the Amazon princess. Young heroes, about to take on a group of familiar villains. The tension between them grew, as they wondered what would happen now in this fight.
(Diana) - Did you honestly think that this antisocial behavior would not attract our attention?
(Selina) - Um, yes. Of course we knew. Why do you think we did that?
Both sides went at it hard. Supergirl took on Giganta, Zatanna started a fight with Livewire, Bumblebee traded blows with Posion Ivy, Star Sapphire and Green Lantern went all out, using their rings to get some punches in. Atlas went for Icestreak, in a revenge of what happened during their fight against the villain and Livewire. Catwoman, on the other hand, gave it her all by taking on Wonder Woman. In a way, the heroes and villains were evenly matched.
Catwoman's claws seemed to have no effect against the Amazon, while slowly, Atlas reciprocated in kind what had happened during their fight in an unusual rematch.
(Atlas) - You just couldn't do without making new friends, could you, Icestreak? - Strikes the villain, throwing him backwards.
(Icestreak) - It's just bones of the trade, Atlas. - He launches a blast of ice that is blocked by the hero, a sign that he was getting a bit more mastery of his abilities. - And you seem to have improved a bit during that time.
(Atlas) - Show us what you got! - The two began to exchange punches, throwing them both away with the force of their attacks. Slowly, Icestreak pushed Atlas back, causing him to stop at Diana's side as he fought Catwoman. Zatanna was having a bit of trouble with Livewire, but she used her magic to keep an eye on every possible detail.
(Catwoman) - Looks like we're evenly matched.
(Wonder Woman) - Equal? Don't make us laugh. - Wonder Woman put the Lasso of Truth in place, spinning it around as Atlas and Icestreak continued their attacks on each other. Slowly, Atlas was able to get more mastery of his own powers, as if he was more focused than ever now.
(Atlas) - Are you guys really in with a chance now? - He fires a blast from his left hand, channeling an energy that throws Jason backwards.
(Icestreak) - Truth be told, I believe we are. - Suddenly, something hit Atlas in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground, startling the heroines. Just then, the figure of Harley Quinn appeared before them, a sledgehammer in her hands. - Super Hero Girls, meet our new friend. Harley Quinn.
(Harley) - Are you ready to have some fun now? Because I've got a big dose of crazy in my body! - The heroes were practically worried, more precisely Atlas, who looked at this situation, remembering his traumas. The girls looked at that, knowing that he was feeling fear in his body because of what had happened.
(Atlas) - I don't believe it...
(Icestreak) - She's our unpredictable ace in the hole. And she is dying to meet each and every one of you. - Atlas stood up, practically fearful of everything that might happen now. Slowly, he looked around, nervous at the problem at hand.
(Atlas) - Looks like you guys have really evolved into a team of villains. Truth be told, I feel sorry for what's going to happen now.
(Wonder Woman) - "Atlas is not acting like himself. It seems like his arrogance is trying to hide something. Could that be the dilemma with Babs?" - Diana worried for her friend, even more so considering he was swallowing his uncertainties to face the fight.
(Harley) - You, Atlas. Are you ready to have some fun?
(Atlas) - Depends on your idea of fun. - Atlas then, started to attack Harley Quinn, having to deal also with Icestreak, which was now at a disadvantage in the same way Catwoman had said, now the boy was in a setback, in which he had to deal with a lunatic and his biggest enemy. Johnny was reminded of the trauma he was subjected to with Jason's bullying, enough to be able to go on the attack using what he had. As unbelievable as it seemed, he had a sure grasp of his powers, he just didn't know how long it would last.
Giganta was thrown onto a bus, giving Supergirl the opportunity to use her heat vision to try and hit the villain. Before she could land the blow, Harley Quinn suddenly used a mirror in the middle of the fight, reflecting the blow back at the Kryptonian.
(Harley) - Sounds like you guys need some food for thought.
(Supergirl) - I don't understand that.
Bumblebee, on the other hand, had the upper hand in her fight against Poison Ivy. At microscopic size, she was about to use her stingers against the villain, until with a fly swatter, Harley hit Karen, knocking her to the ground.
(Harley) - Here comes the SWAT team!
Star Sapphire and Livewire, on the other hand, had Green Lantern and Zatanna in a standoff, which the two heroines were managing to resist. Suddenly, a bomb dropped on Zee and Jess' side, dropped by Harley.
(Harley) - Check out my website! It's the bomb! - Exploding, Zatanna and Green Lantern are thrown backwards, further complicating their fight. In his fight with Icestreak, Atlas was practically tasked with doing everything in his power to succeed in defeating his enemies. Every attack he delivered reflected how willing he was to protect people.
(Atlas) - We won't be able to hold out for long!
Meanwhile, Kate and Tom, Johnny's parents, were returning from a date, in which they were both dressed one way, returning from a restaurant. Johnny's father had a food stain on his body.
(Tom) - I can't believe this has happened. Our dinner was going so well.
(Kate) - How were we to know that super-villains would show up and ruin our night? - Turning into another street, suddenly, the two started to see the Super Hero Girls fight against the Super Villain Girls, making everything even more hazy. Atlas, without realizing it, was fighting and his parents were watching, not knowing who was the boy under the mask. - Did this have to happen again?
(Tom) - I don't have my gun around here. - Atlas moved into position, with Diana at his side, and seeing Livewire attacking Zee, he launched a blast from both hands, hitting the villain and throwing her into an energy pole. A mistake, because it gave Leslie the opportunity to absorb more energy, enough to be able to hit the rest of the heroines head on.
(Livewire) - Are you liking what you see? - He launches another electrical blast at Atlas, throwing him backwards as he is reminded of his traumas, in the form of Harley Quinn and her badass pranks.
(Harley) - And she sends a bigger bomb than mine!
(Icestreak) - I like that spirit of yours, Livewire. But I do it better. - Freezing the ground, he makes the heroes slide, in which each of the Super Hero Girls tried to stand their ground. Surprisingly, Atlas went after Icestreak, throwing the villain into a car, until suddenly, the hero took a blow from Harley Quinn's sledgehammer.
(Harley) - Haven't they taught you any manners, Atlas?
(Atlas) - Take it from me, they taught you a lot! - Harley is tripped up, followed by a blow that pushes her backwards. Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Atlas, Zatanna, Bumblebee and Supergirl stand next to each other, preparing to resume the fight.
(Wonder Woman) - Are you ready, siblings?
(Atlas) - That will probably be the best crazy thing I've done so far.
Sweet Justice...
Inside the ice cream parlor, Barbara was in a bit of a daze about everything that had happened. The situation involving her best friend seemed to be affecting her deeply. Having fought with her friends in Metropolis and now estranged herself from her best friend, Harleen, Babs didn't know what else to do. Waiting for her order, the redhead stared at the message on her voicemail, unsure whether to listen to it or not, becoming a little worried. Barry then approached Barbara.
(Barry) - Hey, Babs! Your friends just left!
(Barbara) - You are right, Barry. I really miss them.
(Barry) - Oh-oh. I know when someone's down when I see them. Hey, hey! I got an idea! Want to try my latest ice cream concoction? It's a jalapeno toffee twirl sundae! And it's on the house! - Barry then very quickly handed the ice cream to Babs, which she tasted a bit of.
(Barbara) - It's not very good.
(Barry) - Oh, do you have a lot of jalapenos? Or is it the sauce? I knew it was the sauce!
(Barbara) - No, I like the jalapenos and... ugh, I just can't handle both at the same time! - It was this dilemma that was reflected in Babs. Her friends in Metropolis or her best friend in Gotham. She didn't know how to enjoy both in a fun way.
(Barry) - Well, maybe you can enjoy them separately. It's like ice cream. If you separate the peanut butter and the chocolate, you can enjoy both.
(Barbara) - Maybe I can really enjoy them separately! - Looking at her phone, she started to listen to Johnny's message, in which she was a little touched to see that despite everything, he was willing to give Harleen a chance. Babs saw that her friend could be different, but she seemed to have downplayed the trauma of the bullying that Johnny had suffered. And it was something he felt sorry for. - I have to make a call!
The Super Hero Girls' fight was getting more complicated than they could admit right now. Helping to provide a bit of cover for Diana, Atlas positioned himself in front of Livewire, reliving some of his trauma, while slowly, the hero was intensifying the strength of his own attacks, focusing everything within his core to defeat Leslie. Icestreak then counterattacked Atlas, delivering a blow to his chest, while using an ice stake to scratch his chest, making him feel a small pain in his body.
(Icestreak) - How do you like that, Atlas? - He takes a blow to the face, until suddenly, Livewire uses her electricity, aiming it in the direction of Johnny's parents' car, in which Atlas realizes this now that they're witnessing the fight.
(Livewire) - And it looks like we have a couple of clowns getting in the middle of the fight! Shall we send them a little message? - Launching an electric blast in the direction of the car, Johnny ran as fast as he could, in the process creating a barrier between himself and his parents' car. Slowly, a little electricity coursed through his body. He then paced, concentrating his powers, until suddenly, it was like a sort of replay of the last fight. The lightning ended up exploding, throwing the hero to his knees. Suddenly, she launched another blast, giving Johnny's parents a mild shock, which ended up scaring the crap out of them. - Now that's what I call a dose of the electric treatment. My followers would love it if you were recording it.
Atlas' powers were growing. Opening her eyes, anger was visible, which baffled Livewire as to what could happen now. The Super Hero Girls and Super Villain Girls were still fighting. It was a kind of other side growing inside the hero. Still on his knees, the power built up.
With an intense scream, Atlas released the energy within himself. An intense shockwave, in which he was releasing everything within his body. Zee looked at the situation, worried.
(Zee) - "That feeling that he possesses. The anger within his being, intensifying his power, channeling the greatest wave of energy possible in the face of what is happening." - She looks at a stopped car, seeing why the anger is growing. Noticing the boy's parents inside it, realizing that someone dared to cross a line. - "And I see why."
This wave of energy shattered several panes of glass around. Just as the Super Hero Girls and the team of villains were taken completely by surprise. But enough to knock out most of the villains, minus Harley Quinn. Atlas stood up looking at Livewire, fallen.
(Atlas) - Do you know what that is, Livewire? - He kicks the villain, pushing her backwards. - The feeling of sweet suffering. - She keeps walking, firing a blast from her index finger, hitting Leslie, practically worried about what was going to happen. - You revel in the torment of others, but you don't expect it to happen to you. - Throwing another blast, he would return in the same coin, what Livewire had done to them a while back. - It's the sweet irony, isn't it? One moment, you feel like the queen of the world and the next, you've been betrayed in unusual ways. - Firing another blast, Livewire glared at the hero, maintaining his arrogant confidence.
(Livewire) - How do you feel oppressing others? You never know what might happen. This is all fun.
(Atlas) - It's fun for you, but for me, it never was. And I, on the other hand, know exactly when to stop. - He started to walk, willing to help his friends again. However, suddenly, several ice stakes were thrown in Atlas' direction, in which the hero blocked each of them with another barrier and reciprocated by firing bursts of energy in their direction. However, two of them hit his stomach and rib, leaving Johnny's parents worried, not knowing that their own son was the one dealing with the villains of the city.
(Icestreak) - How about that little gift of mine, Atlas? - The hero, without hesitation, pulled the stakes out of his body, as if he was not feeling anything.
(Atlas) - Is that it? - He lands a blow that throws him into a wall. At the same time, Diana corners Catwoman, using her skills to restrain the thief, while Atlas holds Icestreak to a wall, using his strength to keep him from escaping.
The heroes' clash was still difficult considering that Harley Quinn could make it very difficult for them. At this, Jason thought of something brilliant in his mind. Freezing his enemy's hands in place, he was forced to let go, which caused Wonder Woman to move towards the ice villain, taking a blow to Icestreak's face. Unseen by them, Catwoman managed to sneak the Lasso of Truth. Spinning the rope, she tied each of the Super Hero Girls with it, making all of her targets impossible. Meaning Atlas was also trapped and unable to use his energy manifesting powers to free himself.
(Supergirl) - I'm not gonna lie, there's a lot of deja vu in that part.
(Catwoman) - I don't know, I don't care! You really seem to be tied up a bit at the moment... what do you say, Harley? You want to do the honors in this little game of cat and mouse? - Harley then, started walking, with her sledgehammer at the ready, pretty much confident of what was going to happen now. Slowly, the Super Hero Girls faced what might be the end of them.
(Atlas) - I can't believe this is happening.
(Diana) - It's humiliating. To be defeated by my own Lasso. - The Amazon really felt ashamed of the situation she was in.
(Johnny) - If this is how we're going to die, at least, I want you to know, I'm glad to have met such good friends like you. - She continued walking, until suddenly, Harley's cell phone rang.
(Green Lantern) - Double deja vu.
(Harley) - Sorry, I have to take this. It's kind of important. - She picked up her phone and dropped the sledgehammer on the floor while talking on her cell phone. - Yeah, I can totally talk now.
(Johnny) - Triple deja vu.
(Catwoman) - No, you can't- We're in the middle of something! - Catwoman's anger caused her to let go of the Lasso, which didn't go unnoticed by the heroes. - That wasn't supposed to happen. - Atlas fires a blast in Giganta's direction, then fires another at Catwoman, throwing them both backwards.
With that, the fight resumed, where the Super Hero Girls seemed to be gaining a bit of an advantage now, facing their respective enemies, while Harley Quinn was talking on her cell phone, absenting herself from the fight for a while.
(Harley) - Babsy! What's happening?
-Harleen! -Harleen! You're my jalapeno! And my friends from Metropolis are my toffee and I don't need to eat you both at the same time!
(Harley) - Babsy-Doodles, I love you! But I have no idea what you're talking about! - The fight of heroes and villains was in full force, while Harley Quinn continued on her phone.
-Don't you see? -You don't have to get along You don't have to get along with my Metropolis friends and I don't have to get along with your Metropolis friends! We can still be best friends and do the things we love to do! - The sound of attacks could still be heard, demonstrating how each of the Super Hero Girls was fighting with everything they had inside their bodies.
(Harley) - Babsie?
-like going to the comic book store or hang-gliding what I know-
(Harley) - Babsie?
-Which we never really did but-
(Harley) - BABSIE!
-Oh, what?
(Harley) - There's nobody in this world I would rather hang-glide with than you.
A touching moment was realized in that moment. A moment in which two best friends had finally understood each other. Suddenly, the sound of an explosion was heard, in which Harley gave a very smug smile on her face, giving the villain the gap to resume her attention on the fight.
(Harley) - Whoopsie! I have to run! - It returns to the fight in which Jason and Johnny continued to face each other, with the clash of the two taking over, in which conjuring an ice stake, he scratches Atlas' face, while Tom and Kate watched the fight, worried about what might happen now.
(Atlas) - Do you want to quit, Icestreak?
(Icestreak) - Someone of my magnitude never gives up. - He launches another blast, being blocked by the hero's wrists, partially frozen by the blast.
(Atlas) - Then I guess you'll see how far I get with my foot! - His power grew exponentially, which didn't go unnoticed by the heroines, more precisely Diana, who seemed to be channeling his own pain as a source of nourishment to be able to deliver his attacks.
(Barbara) - Keep up your combinations, Barry! I have to do something!
Running into the street, Barbara removed her hoodie and put it back on, becoming her mask. Her alterego. Batgirl. Batman's biggest fan with a variety of gadgets and willing to become the partner of Gotham City's greatest hero in the future.
Wonder Woman continued to face Livewire, while Atlas took care of Icestreak, however, Harley seemed to be complicating things for their side. Taking a blow from the lunatic's sledgehammer, Atlas gave a cocky smile as she felt a little more strength building in her body.
(Icestreak) - Give up! - He launches another blast from his left hand, which Atlas blocks with one of his hands. The two then begin to hold each other's hands, sparking an intense duel of strength.
(Atlas) - Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside that mind of yours. This obsession with wanting to defeat me...
(Icestreak) - A purpose is necessary. For me, it has never been clearer. As much as I have these powers, I am destined for great things. - He headbutts Atlas, bewildering him, while delivering another blow, throwing him on top of a car. Blocking his attacks with his left hand, Atlas made sure to hold back anything that was an attack. - The sweet sound of desperation.
Harley takes a swing at the hero, throwing him into a wall that almost falls on top of him, until out of nowhere, his face is slashed, causing some blood to come out of him. With that, Batgirl reveals herself, striking a pose while raising her hood.
-Batgirl! - Everyone in the group shouted at the same time, showing how happy they were to have their friend back for this fight.
(Harley) - Ugh, Batgirl! I thought you wouldn't mind seeing me in the fight. I thought I last saw you in Gotham! What's up? Miss my explosive personality? - Suddenly, a rocket appeared in her hammer, which Batgirl dodged, but exploded nearby, causing blood to spill from her neck.
(Batgirl) - In your dreams, Harley Quinn! In fact, I'll see to it that I never see you again!
The two started running towards each other, ready to face each other with everything they had. Suddenly, the police appeared, stopping the fight, which left both sides surprised.
(Giganta) - The police! Let's go! - They grab Harley, placing her inside the car as she grabs a piece of wood, throwing it in Batgirl's direction. The villain is then tied up, with Giganta holding the car underneath, about to run away with it in her hands.
(Harley) - Do you think you've seen the last of me, Batgirl? Well, you haven't seen anything yet! Not by a long shot!
Batigrl looked at his friends, seeing all of them gone. Johnny went to the girl, hugging her, with a thrill in his body, along with the rest of the team.
(Wonder Woman) - Batgirl, we-
(Batgirl) - No, I'm sorry! I'm really really really really sorry! I shouldn't have walked out on you and badmouthed you like that! Wait, there's only one way to know that I really feel that! - She tried to reach for Diana's lasso, but the Amazon stopped her.
(Wonder Woman) - We're sorry too, and we're glad you've returned!
(Supergirl) - Yeah, let's not expect each other again, okay? Not with Catwoman is your group out there.
(Green Lantern) - Definitely! We need each other more than ever!
(Batgirl) - Aww, I really missed you guys as BFFs.
(Atlas) - I truly owe you an apology like never before, Batgirl. I overreacted in my reaction. But now I know that. - He extends his fist, in which the two touch them, with a smile on his face. Johnny was happy, because he was able to regain the trust of his first friend that he managed to make in Metropolis. He looked back, seeing his parents still worried about the fight they had witnessed. - And I think I need to take care of something first. - The boy walked toward his parents' car, maintaining his disguise, while the Super Hero Girls accompanied him, willing to help. - Are you guys okay?
(Tom) - We are. We were caught by surprise just now. They didn't report anything that this street was under attack.
(Wonder Woman) - They were causing panic in the streets. We had to go after these villains.
(Kate) - You are people with great gifts. Metropolis is proud to have each of you as great protectors of this city. Including you, Atlas. - She didn't know it was her son beneath the mask. But hearing his mother admit how proud she was to be part of the team, as much as he didn't know who it was, he held back his emotions.
(Atlas) - Well, as a friend told me: A hero's duty never ends. - He looks at Diana, knowing her words. Taking them as her own.
(Tom) - This town is already taken over by too many things. If you need help, you can count on me. A good old cop willing to do the job. - Kate put a smile on her face, almost giving her husband a light laugh.
(Kate) - Don't exaggerate, Tom.
(Zee) - Well, this conversation is kind of fun, but we just remembered we have an appointment. - The group smiled at Kate and Tom, in which they walked triumphantly away to the opposite side of the room from them.
(Kate) - Next time we have a date, let's be careful where we go.
(Tom) - Closed.
Landing high on the roof of a house, the Super Hero Girls looked out over the city, celebrating yet another victory. Johnny, however, began to feel some pain in his body from the blows he had taken. The girls stayed close to each other, observing what could have happened to the Super Villain Girls.
(Wonder Woman) - Wherever they are, we'll be ready.
(Batgirl) - I just hoped we could have gotten a better result instead of them escaping. - Sighing, she looked at her friends, finally getting things settled.
(Atlas) - One hour, they will be back. They may have escaped, but we are more united than ever. - Feeling the pain where the stakes had been driven into his body, he looked down at his body, concerned. - Wait a minute. - Lifting his shirt slightly at the front, Johnny saw two holes in his body where he had been attacked by Icestreak. The girls watched this, worried.
(Zatanna) - You took some pretty nasty blows to the body.
(Atlas) - I was caught off guard, Zatanna. - He takes some bandages, and then puts some ethyl alcohol on her wounds, feeling them stinging more and more. - Livewire took the opportunity to attack my parents. And Icestreak saw the distraction and struck me when I least expected it.
(Wonder Woman) - Those injuries are kind of hard to bear.
(Atlas) - How long do you think it will take for your neck to get better, Batgirl?
(Batgirl) - I don't know. How can you handle it?
(Atlas) - For a long time, I let fear dominate me. But now, I think I'm slowly getting over it. I had more control of my powers today than ever before, but I couldn't understand why. It felt like anger in my body. The pain. Difficult feelings that seemed to be inside me and I couldn't understand. - Wrapping up the bandages, Atlas did everything he could to disguise it. - This day today was very hard for me. - Zee placed one of her hands on his shoulder, the same way Karen and Jess had placed their hands on his body. - Isn't there a magic that heals these injuries?
(Zatanna) - Yes. But it takes quite a while to master that kind of magic. I think I might have a theory as to your powers today. Meet me at my place tomorrow. - Zee took off, while Diana looked at Johnny, with a shy smile on her face.
(Wonder Woman) - Every hero still has a long way to go. Your mission is just beginning, Atlas. Just as mine also continues in the World of Men. - The group then dispersed except for Barbara and Johnny.
(Batgirl) - And what will you do now?
(Atlas) - The usual.
The next day...
At school, Barbara began walking the halls, with a letter in her pocket. Arriving near Zee's locker, so as not to arouse the suspicions of her friend Johnny, she disguised herself with her hoodie and not to be recognized. Putting the letter written by the boy in the closet, she hoped the magic would find her.
(Barbara) - "Be thankful I'm helping you, Johnny. Friends are for those things."
A few minutes later, Zee found the letter in the closet. She thought that her admirer might be someone classic. Opening the letter, the girl began to look at what might be written. Until she saw what it was. A letter, but having a poem at the end.
"Dear Zee. If you knew how I feel right now, you would be surprised. I love you so much that my feelings can't fit in my heart. For a moment, time stops when I look at your slender and divine presence. Just as I know that a magician like you has great potential ahead of her. If you're reading this, I know you'll be curious. First, you know I'm a student at this school. The second hint is that I'm a huge fan of ancient cultures. I love you, Zee Zatara. The girl of my dreams. However, I'm afraid you don't love me back. Your popularity precedes you, and your beauty and personality are something I love most about you. If you accept my love back, I will be yours completely and give you your greatest desires every day we are together. The poem I finally got around to writing should speak what I want so badly."
"In the beginning, a passion is born."
"In a field of flowers, I saw her for the first time."
"Beautiful and fair, with purple hair."
"Gorgeous as a violet."
"Out of everyone, she stood out the most."
"With enormous passion and confidence."
"It is undeniable to say that I feel everything."
"Getting closer is hard, but I see her every day."
"Like my purple-haired girl."
"The girl I love most in the world."
"She's Zee Zatara. A great person."
"And I look how certain differences can exist."
"The drought in my heart has taken hold."
"But she disappeared in those days. Because you filled my heart."
"That's why I love her. Now and always..."
Zee seemed to have been a little moved by the poem. Grabbing a piece of paper, unseen, she began to write another letter. A few minutes later, Johnny looked at Zee, seeing how he was managing to make her fall in love with her secret admirer. Unnoticed, he started walking, looking at his phone, until he bumped into the girl.
(Johnny) - Sorry, Zee. I didn't see where you were walking.
(Zee) - No problem. - The boy looks at the letter, with a mischievous smile on his face. - (Zee) What?
(Johnny) - And that letter?
(Zee) - Leaving an answer for my secret admirer. - They started walking, in which they both started talking against each other. - He's making me kind of curious. I don't know who he is, so these letters have become our little means of communication.
(Johnny) - I've never seen you this curious. Usually at my old school, everybody knew each other there. Even the crushes there tried to get up the courage to say something. What about this letter? Would you like to tell us what you managed to write? - Zee was a little surprised by the boy's question. - Out of curiosity. Ever since I heard that you had a secret admirer, I have been intrigued. Someone with the courage to talk to you through letters?
(Zee) - He's a bit shy if you ask me. If I tell you what is written, do you promise not to say anything?
(Johnny) - I know how to keep secrets. - She showed the letter to Johnny, so he could see what was written.
(Zee) - There I go. Dear secret admirer, your words make me emotional. The poem I read was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life. An admirer like you, despite your shyness, has a little courage. Even though I don't know who you are, I feel we are connecting. I look at your words and notice how you possess a little passion in your body. I am a girl with culture, but I also try to understand who the person in between the letters is. If the passion for something is strong, then it must be someone determined. I look at your cards and notice quite a bit of dedication in your statements. If I am to be his entirely, I need to know him first. But not now. Tell me a little more about yourself and in return, I'll open the doors to my secrets and feelings. Love, Zee. - She seemed to be blushing on her face, as if she were indeed in love with her secret admirer. - What did you think?
(Johnny) - Exciting. I wish I had someone who would make a gesture like that for me? Finding the ideal girl, in my opinion, takes time, but whoever this secret admirer is, he had to be very lucky to be able to admit what he feels in letters. It's like the old movies, in my opinion. Two people loving each other, communicating at a distance. At least that's what I've heard in some of the movies. - Zee giggled, agreeing with the boy.
(Zee) - Indeed. It sounds like one of those period movies where the two lovers communicate through letters. I feel his words are familiar to me.
(Johnny) - He'll show up, Zee. I can feel it. By the way, we still have our little appointment today.
(Zee) - Until the class is over...
At Zee's house, Johnny and the magician were meditating, with their eyes closed, trying to channel some of the emotions in their bodies during their training. Slowly, Zee thought about her theory, while Johnny thought about the last events, trying to understand what had happened.
(Johnny) - I'm trying to repeat what I did yesterday, only I don't seem to be accomplishing anything.
(Zee) - That's because you are calm. I think I understand what happened. Your powers worked because you were focused on something.
(Johnny) - I was thinking about the fight. Looking at every detail and focusing my powers in a specific point to be able to use them against the villains.
(Zee) - Unleashed a wave of energy when your parents were attacked. Focus on the specific point, Johnny. - The young man began to channel his energy lightly, focusing on a point where he could conjure a sphere in both hands, keeping it in a constant form, without being dissipated. Zee opens his eyes, seeing the boy's achievement. - You are managing to use your powers. A sign that you are getting a better grasp on your abilities. Energy manipulation is a bit tricky at first. You have to be very careful when using an ability like that.
(Johnny) - I use my powers and try to master my fears to use them. Usually I do, but sometimes, they fail. But yesterday, for the first time since I started acting like Atlas, they didn't fail. They didn't let me down. For the first time in months, I could feel a deep connection to my powers. - Closing his eyes, he could feel something else inside his body. - It was as if I could sense certain parts of my abilities developing over time.
(Zee) - And what do you see in your powers?
(Johnny) - Limits to be overcome. I believe that my fear limits my strength. - The sphere continues to slowly develop. Johnny begins to pass it down one of his arms, doing a sort of balancing act as he tries to keep it from dissipating. - A fixed point. That's what I'm thinking about.
(Zee) - Their manipulation of energy is almost akin to magic. People with magic inside their bodies have a hard time controlling their powers. But by maintaining concentration and acquiring the necessary knowledge, you can maintain a kind of imperceptible balance. Yesterday, he managed to unleash a wave of energy out of the ordinary. We can confirm that his powers are channeled by his emotions. His concentration on doing the right thing allowed him to use his strength in a necessary way. - The magician seemed to have an understanding of what might be happening, trying to understand his limits. - But I think I noticed something else.
(Johnny) - And what would that be?
(Zee) - You said you destroyed part of your old high school before you moved to Metropolis. But I get it. When you channel your negative emotions, you lose control of your powers. Thinking in anger, hatred, pain.
(Johnny) - I just thought about when my parents were attacked, the anger I was feeling. I usually feel that there is something inside me fighting to get free. And I try to control my emotions so I don't explode.
(Zee) - When there was the argument with Barbara, the objects in the hiding place began to move uncontrollably. That was his built up anger being released. - He was surprised, as if he didn't realize what he had done. - And you didn't.
(Johnny) - Harleen reminded me of the traumas of school days in Coast City. Enough to try to understand what it all meant. I look back and see some of the good and bad times in my old town. - He sighs, worried. - But I still fear losing control of the powers.
(Zee) - Your negative emotions manifest the loss of control. However, you can't always keep them in a bottle.
(Johnny) - Have you ever felt like that? Angry enough at the world to want to yell at someone? Take it out on them in a hard way?
(Zee) - I'm not sure I understand that. - He gives a shy smile on his face. - But I think I can help. Your training will still continue for a while. If you find a steady balance, maybe you can lessen your negativity. I can help with that. - She extends her left hand to Johnny. - Give me your hand.
He then half shyly placed his left hand in Zee's, with both of them closing their eyes and channeling their powers at the same time, trying to create some sort of connection between them so they could understand what they should do.
(Zee) - You need an understanding. In these classes, I am going to do something that you probably won't like very much. In some of them, I will try to enter your mind and your body will try to resist. - He has taken on a semblance of worry. - You have a sense of unexplored trauma. So to try to help get a handle on it, I'm going to use my magic to see some of your memories and as a sort of defense mechanism, your mind is going to try to kick me out the same way it was able to do last time. Are you ready?
(Johnny) - Whenever you want.
(Zee) - "Retne ni sih dnim!"
Zee began trying to break down Johnny's mental barriers, getting to witness some of the bullying Jason was doing to him in Coast City. Seeing some of his memories between his parents, she continued to try to force it, while the boy's body tried to resist what was happening. Suddenly, a shadow appeared, forcing Zee to dispel the spell.
(Johnny) - Something's gone wrong.
(Zee) - It is normal from time to time. It usually takes a little while to get into a person's mind. - He gives a smile on his face. - Can we continue?
Johnny looked at Zee, just returning it with a smile as well. He looked up to the girl, not just seeing her as a confidant. That was because he was in love with magic, as much as he couldn't admit it to himself. If she knew, she would probably be as surprised as he was right now. But he was willing to do anything to win her heart.
At the comic book store, Barbara and Harleen were standing next to each other, looking for new stories, at which the redhead looked at one of the stalls, being happy with what she was seeing.
(Barbara) - Harleen! I found it!
(Harleen) - The Raven of Gotham limited series issue #6? - The blonde clucked, looking down at the comic. - Finally. - Barbara then looked at Harleen's wrist, which had a few stripes on it.
(Barbara) - Hey, what happened to your wrist!
(Harleen) - Oh, I got too close to the hairdryer. - Look at Barbara's neck. - What happened to her neck?
(Barbara) - Oh, um, I was also using the hairdryer and got a little too close. - The two friends looked at each other, with Harleen giving another smug smile of her own.
(Harleen) - You know, if I didn't know you too well, I'd say... this is a brand new edition of Joker vs. Batman spanking.
(Barbara) - What? Let's read together now!
(Harleen) - See, why does the first panel always have to be Batman? And his blade is broken? Why does he always have a stubble? Can't he look presentable like the Joker?
(Barbara) - I'm sorry. The fact that he doesn't shave shows the commitment he has for his city! He's not taking the time for personal hygiene...
Epilogue...
Inside the boat, Deva began to look a little closer at the bow of it. Standing at the ready, she was more confident than she could have imagined when Metropolis approached the Amazon. Docking on the sand, taking advantage that there was no one around, she started walking towards a cabin, seeing a pair of jeans and a black blouse in it. Grabbing the clothes, Deva took cover and in a few seconds, she was cloaked as a civilian, while hiding her outfits and weaponry inside a bag, managing to conceal herself. Walking through the streets, Deva looked at the buildings, seeing Diana's accomplishments in the news.
(Deva) - Diana, Diana. If you knew what I have in store for you, you would feel more pain than ever afterwards. - Walking, she began to walk among the people, getting more convinced. - An Amazon warrior lowering herself to something like that? When I set my plan in motion, the Amazons will understand the true meaning of fear...
To be continued...
Author's Note: So, here we are once again. The first arc of this story is on. Now that Deva is in Metropolis, what plans she has in her mind to destroy Diana and the Amazons? The next chapters will treat this arc in a little homage of the 80 years of Wonder Woman. This might be a very long story arc, so be ready for unexpected plot twists and battles, and also a little bit of humor, with some sideplots still in action here. As I said to all of you, dear readers, this version of Deva will be a little different, and you will understand why. Also, this arc might be a little more brutal, so get ready for some more emotion in here.
I promised to you that there would be more story arcs, and I will try to do my best. The support of all of you who are reading is very amazing. Leave your opinion, as usual. I like the dynamic of interacting with the readers very much, and very soon, we're gonna be back. See you next time!
