(Rodia, 19BBY)

The remaining Vulture Droid retreated to the domed city, wishing to report the Republic squad rather than face the jedi.

Gremal watched as a trio of LAATs broke through the atmosphere. A pair of ARC-170 fighters buzzing around as they escorted the gunships to the ground.

"Something tells me we're going to be busy…" Gremal muttered as he brought out his electrobinoculars.

Could see dozens of B1 and B2 battle droids milling around with at least 2 platoons of droids marching out into the marsh. He looked at a Steathipede-Class shuttle which landed in the midst of the droids.

"Seems one of the separatists decided to make this place his holiday home." Gremal said before a Nemoidian walked down the ramp. "Of course, it's a Nemoidian…." Gremal muttered as he shook his head and hummed.

"General? There has to be a battalion occupying Rodia's main city." Gremal heard from Gregor. "Should we try and draw them out?" Gregor questioned to which Gremal was silent.

"Against that many droids?" Gremal stated while shutting down his electrobinoculars. "No, their cut us down on sight… And considering all this swamp around here?" Gremal asked and got a hum from Gregor.

"There might be mudrackers." Gregor put in, shaking his head. "What do you suggest, general?" Gregor questioned while Gremal hummed and rubbed at his temples.

"Well? Considering the Rodians don't seem to be under threat right away?" Gremal questioned to which Gregor nodded. "Then we should draw them away from the city to keep collateral damage to a minimum… Keep the men on patrol, last thing we want is a group of mudrackers sneaking up on us." Gremal said, the mere utterance of the Crab Droid's nickname making him uneasy.

"Do you think Rodia joined the seppies?" Eyeball asked to which Gremal hummed.

"I don't know, Eyeball." Gremal responded before turning to Gregor. "Gregor, contact Admiral Dron. We need to speak to the council. Republic forces arriving in force like this? Dooku will be able to spin this in his favor." Gremal ordered as the Clone Captain nodded and left to contact Vigilance.

"I'm starting to hate politics." Torque muttered; annoyance evident in his voice.

"Think we all do, Torque." Gremal said before leaving his troops to contact the Republic.

(With the CIS)

"Uh, sir? We have reports of a Jedi nearby." The Nemoidian heard as he frowned in annoyance.

"Remind me why I allowed the Jedi to discover our forces here?" The Nemoidian questioned, anger staining his voice. "Count Dooku told me I am to retreat our forces here back to Separatist space." The Nemoidian pointed out before a hulking brute clad in armor stepped forward.

"Because I'm going to be the one to kill the jedi, Drutza." The figure said before turning to a B1. "Launch the attack tonight, the Jedi will be too eager to defend his men to notice me approaching." The figure ordered which got an uneasy look from the battle droid.

"Roger roger." The droid stated uneasily as it turned to give the order to the rest of the battalion.

(With Gremal)

"Master Ivar, interested to hear from you, I am." Yoda stated while Gremal respectfully bowed. "News, you bring?" Yoda questioned as Gregor decided to start the briefing.

"The CIS has occupied Rodia, General Yoda." Gregor said before humming once more. "We're facing at least battalion strength down here. General Ivar thought we should contact you before we move forward with any plans." Gregor said to which Yoda hummed. .

"Sensed a disturbance on one of Rodia's moons, I have." Yoda responded to which Gremal frowned. "Droid base filled with many weapons; I see. Travel to moon Enak, you must." Yoda said to which Gremal and Gregor shared looks.

"With all due respect, Master Yoda?" Gremal stated and crossed his arms. "I can't just abandon my men or the Rodians…." Gremal said which caused Yoda to hum.

The Jedi Grand Master was well aware of how emotional Gremal could be, these feelings worried the Jedi… But it also brought up a point. Gremal couldn't abandon his duty to handle another.

"A fair point, Master Ivar." Yoda said and tapped his cane on the floor. "Withdraw to the inner swamps, you will. Negotiate with the Rodians, Master Kenobi will." Yoda ordered before signing off.

"We're handle the clankers, General Ivar." Gregor said while looking at the growing force of clones. "If they have a base on the moon? Then it won't matter if we retake Rodia anyway. Their just regroup and launch another attack on us from above… I'd rather…" Gregor started to say before another clone rushed in.

"Sirs! Droid ship landing behind us!" The clone reported as the republic officers frowned. "Their flanking us!" The clone added to which Gremal hummed.

"I'm not going anywhere till this attack is resolved, Gregor." Gremal put in and turned to the clone. "Fortify our defenses and tell the rest to fall back into the swamp. We're regroup after we drive them off." Gremal ordered before he and Gregor headed outside.

He turned to see a Vulture Droid crash and explode along with distant shouts and roars of blaster fire.

"Gregor, make sure the others get to safety!" Gremal ordered and turned to Eyeball and Torque. "Torque, Eyeball? Come with me. We're going to drive the droids back and regroup with the 7th in the swamps." Gremal ordered as he sighed and shook his head.

Somehow, he knew that this wouldn't be that simple. The battle droids would continue coming, and they didn't have the moral standing or ability to throw lives away.

"How many do you think are coming?" Gregor questioned to which Gremal was silent. "Sir, we're be able to hold them as long as we possibly can. General Yoda is right, without that base on the moon being destroyed? Their just return with reinforcements. We can't hold off a siege with civilians in our midst." Gregor put in before he hummed and pondered what would happen.

"I don't feel right just leaving clones here to fight while I do nothing." Gremal stated while he drew his lightsaber. "We don't leave people behind, Gregor. I don't, I'm not going to just walk away while you and the others trade lives for time." Gremal said which made the Clone Commando go quiet.

There was nothing he could really say to that. He wanted to assure his commander that they would be fine… But he didn't question that his men had a right to live.

Something that it seemed nobody really took into account when planning battle strategies at the moment… Or really at any point besides a few.

He didn't know for a fact what would become of their soldier.
