Location: Coast city port…
Oliver, Kara and Claire reached the area before alex and her team arrived. They started to check out the area which was marked as the crime scene by police. The CSI which alex brought searched the area for anything they missed in the first place.
CSI: There's nothing here.
Alex: Thank you, mike. I guess that's all for now. You can go.
Mike: Sure. Let me know if anything shows up.
Alex: Will do.
Mike left the area and the trio of heroes circled in together.
Kara: So far we've got nothing and clearly you wasted our time with some of your delusional plans.
Oliver: I don't think they are delusional. They are perfectly planned and they were ready for us with soldiers hidden in the area.
Kara: Do you think they know you are coming to bust them?
Oliver: Yeah. I'm 100% positive.
Claire: I gotta say. If they are ready for you then, then they will be ready for us now.
Oliver: That's why we need to move now. We've clearly got the advantage over them now and one single step will make a huge difference. We already got two super powerful and flying super heroes and the fastest man alive on our team. What could possibly go wrong?
Kara: Speaking of which, where is the "fastest man" alive? Did he forgot to meet us here?
Oliver: He is running an errand for me. He will meet us at the base. All right people we don't have much time. Suit up.
Oliver hopped onto his bike while kara, Claire started flying. Alex and the other agents entered their vehicles and after 10 minutes they reached the cadmus base of operations. Oliver got down from his bike. He took cover from a nearby building and climbed onto its roof. Kara and Claire landed beside him and they reached the edge where oliver is ready to release an emp arrow from his bow.
Location: CADMUS base…
Alex and the others reached the building and came to the roof top and took positions to guard the building without being noticed.
Oliver: Ok. My intel told me that this building has 51 sub levels in the underground. Kara you and I need to sweep every floor until we find that kid. And on the other hand there are 30 floors on the top. Barry and Claire will cover all floors and will be able to find my team. Strike team two will signal us when the team is rescued. We need to be fast and stealthy enough to find the kid and escape with him.
Within few seconds they all heard saw a trail of lightning coming towards them. A red blur stood before them. It stopped vibrating and revealed the face of the Flash.
Oliver: Took you long enough.
Barry: (sheepishly) Sorry.
Alex: All right, everyone. Get ready.
Oliver, kara, Claire and barry left the area with their respective teams and they parted ways to enter the building. Barry used his super speed to destroy the security cameras and phased into a door and opened the door from inside. Strike team two entered the building and started to make their way up to the top.
Meanwhile, Oliver and kara started to find another way to enter the building without being noticed. Kara punched a hole into ground and tried to break her way into the base, but couldn't because of the electrical field against the base. She came out after few seconds.
Kara: The whole building is covered with a massive amount of electrical field which can easily burn down humans and can give a great amount of shock to aliens. I mean they might go into a deep coma. There's no way our plan can work.
Oliver: I know. Because we are not going into the base. You are.
Alex: Are you crazy? You want to send kara alone into the base without even knowing what kind of danger she could face? No. She will not go alone.
Oliver: She has to. It's the only way.
Alex: Didn't you hear her saying the massive electrical field can make her go into a coma?
Oliver: It is not the time for a debate, Alex. I know you want to save kara. Believe me I also want her to be safe. But we need to let her go alone. She can fight the guards and also I know that Barry and Claire will be successful in saving my team. They can give us way into the base. Kara won't be alone.
Kara: It's ok… alex. I know what to do. I will go alone.
Alex: Kara-
She got stopped in the middle as kara hugged her sister.
Kara: I won't be alone. You will find a way to help me in there. I know it.
Alex sighed wearily and glanced at oliver.
Alex: You better know what you are doing.
Oliver nodded and gave kara an arrow.
Oliver: This is a tracking device. It looks like an arrow but, it will give us your location and also it will leave a trail of thermal radiation for us to know where you are exactly.
Kara: Ok.
Kara looked at alex and went into the hole which she first created. As she tried to go near the base, she got electrocuted. She lost consciousness for a second but regained it. She tried so hard to break into the base. Finally after a lot of tries she managed to hit the wall and entered the underground floor.
Kara: (to her comms) Guys, I'm in.
Alex and oliver sighed in relief and they sent a signal to the strike team two to help her in her journey.
Meanwhile, kara searched the floor to find the kid but only ended up finding a woman in blue color. She has a triangle of red dots on her face and she turned her gaze towards kara.
Woman: Well well well, if it isn't the last daughter of krypton.
Kara: I know you. You are a prisoner of fort rozz. Indigo.
Indigo: Well I'm sure this will be the last face you remember. I will kill you for what you did to NON.
Kara: (under her breath) So I killed Non in this timeline too. (to indigo) You are working for CADMUS. That's very unlikely to the mighty INDIGO. The very person who can make prisoners of fort rozz tremble upon saying your name. I don't think you could be sided with an organization like cadmus.
Indigo: Quit stalling. I know you have friends trying to help you break the kid from here. Let's gets this over with.
Kara: Gladly.
Kara speds over to indigo and punched her in the stomach. Indigo went across the room and falls on the floor. She gets up and powers up a gauntlet in her hand and rushes towards kara. Only to be stopped by a trail of yellow lightning surrounding her. She got confused and tries to hit the wind in front of her. But she misses and a hand from back taps on her shoulder. She turns to see flash grinning at her and the next second she got hit by a huge super sonic punch came from Claire who was already behind her when barry sped around indigo.
Kara: Thanks. But I had her.
Claire: Sure you do.
Kara: How did you find me?
Claire: Thermal radiation. It is specifically desgined for coluians like me to find a particular person. Oliver knows the threat we are facing and he asked me to design it, so that we might use it to find anyone.
Kara looked down and started to realize that oliver is trying to look out for her.
Barry: Ok. I'll help the other strike team to join us.
Kara: Wait. What happened to Oliver's team?
Claire: We saved them and we sent them for immediate medical attention in DEO.
Kara: I'm so glad that you found them.
Claire: Well- Hey. I know her.
She points out to a knocked off indigo and she goes near her.
Claire: She is a coluian like me.
Kara: What?
Claire: Yeah. You see this symbol?
She points to the triangle of red dots on her forehead.
Kara: What about them?
Claire: This is the coluian symbol. I mean this symbol originated from my part home planet COLU.
She showed the same triangle on her back of the neck to kara. Kara gasped on seeing this.
Kara: Well I guess we need answers from a person who knows more about colu and can actually help us.
Claire: Who?
Kara: Brainy.
Suddenly they heard heavy footsteps coming towards them.
Kara: Guards.
Claire: I got this.
Before kara could talk back, Claire already flew into the area where she heard the sounds. Kara heard a group of voices yelling for help and within seconds she saw her sister coming out from the dust created when she fought the guards.
Claire: We don't have much time. We need to find that kid and get the hell out of this place.
Kara: Couldn't agree more.
Kara and Claire flew through the floors and stopped on seeing oliver, barry and alex being captured. A man was standing next to them.
Kara: Who are you?
Man: I'm your worst nightmare.
He turned around to show a green light emitting from his chest making kara and Claire falling on their knees.
Kara: (weakly) Kryptonite.
Claire: Who are you?
Man: I. AM. METALLO.
He took another step near to kara and she started to spit blood from her mouth.
Metallo: Hurts, doesn't it? Cadmus gave me a new chance at life again. They only asked me to kill you if I wanted to live. I chose to kill you and don't worry, you friends will follow you within few seconds after you die. I will take care of that.
Claire: Sorry to ruin your plans but kryptonite doesn't affect me like supergirl given the same amount of pain she is experiencing.
Metallo: Oh I am more than emitting kryptonite. I can best you in hand-to-hand combat.
Claire: Really?
Claire winked to oliver who understood that she is stalling him and he took the advantage of it and took a small knife from his back and started to cut the ropes to escape.
Metallo: I will crush your head like a bug and I will drink your blood from your skull you abomination!
Claire lost her temper when she was called an abomination. She got angry and used her heat vision on him. Metallo blocked it with ease and shoots a ray of kryptonite on her. Claire hurts badly when she was exposed to the raw energy of kryptonite. He tried to shoot another ray on her but got knocked down by a bola arrow to his head thrown by oliver. He fell on the floor and closed his eyes. Claire got up and she sped towards him and lifted him up.
Claire: I am not an abomination. You are.
Metallo: No matter what you say. You will always be a roach and an abomination in the eyes of humans.
Claire punches her hand into the chest of metallo and breaks out the kryptonite induced stone and breaks his neck. Kara watched it in horror and she opened her mouth to talk but couldn't. Claire brushed off the blood from her and stood up. Oliver helped Barry and alex to stand up and motioned her to take indigo into the custody of DEO. Claire walked past them silently and they decided not to bring this up until their work is finished.
Oliver: We are in the sub level 15. We need to move fast.
Barry: Uh… Oliver? Can I talk to you for a moment?
Oliver walked near barry who is standing next to a computer.
Barry: Are you sure that the kid is in the sub level 51?
Oliver: I'm sure. Why?
Barry: Because I saw a file named PROJECT BLUE BEETLE and its subject is in hibernation in the sublevel 52. More over the subject's description matches the kid who we are about to save.
Oliver: What? There's another sub level?
Barry: Yeah. Or it is showing us the wrong info.
Oliver: I don't think the computer's showing the wrong info barry. I believe we got the wrong info.
Barry: What are we going to do?
Oliver: We need to help him. He is just a kid barry. He lost his family and haven't seen them since a year. He deserves to be with his loved ones.
Barry nods silently and oliver explains the situation to the remaining agents. They all agreed to break out the kid and help him. Barry reached sublevel 51 and waited for them to arrive. Claire reached him first and she stood silently in the dark.
Barry: Hey.
Claire: Hey.
Barry: Look… I know what it's like to make a hard decision. I honestly agree with you and given the situation I too might kill him if it is necessary. What you did is self defense. You tried to stood for yourself and no one blames you for it.
Claire nodded and she inhales deeply. Kara and the others join them.
Barry: This is as far as we could go. We don't have any other transportation to enter the next sub level.
Oliver: If there is another sub level there must be a way for them to go into it. We need to find a secret passage hidden in this floor.
Kara: Go back everyone. I got this.
Oliver: Kara wait!
It's too late as she tried to create another hole into the ground. But her plan failed as a huge amount of electrical energy from the ground stopped her.
Kara: (groans) Ugh.
Alex: Kara, are you okay? Stay with me.
Kara: Alex…
Alex: Hey. You are safe now.
Kara: I don't understand. How did cadmus created a floor without even having an entrance?
Oliver: I think they have some help. See that?
He pointed towards a steel wall with a trademark printed on it.
Kara: (slowly) Lord industries.
Alex: Maxwell Lord.
Oliver: He is a part of cadmus too. I think.
Barry: We have already came so far. We can't turn our back now.
Oliver: We won't. Barry, I need you to phase into the sub level. Just… try.
Barry: Hmm.
Barry did exactly as oliver instructed. But to his surprise all the electrical energy beneath them was absorbed by the suit flash is wearing. He phased through the floor and reached his destination. He saw a pod with a small kid in it.
Barry: I did it. I see him.
Oliver: (through comms) Now try to break the pod he is in. But do it carefully.
Barry: Sure.
Barry took several steps back and tried a supersonic punch on his pod. He saw a crack forming on the glass tube and suddenly all the liquid in the tube started to overflow and the glass didn't hold it much longer and it broke out completely. Jaime reyes came out of it in an unconscious state.
Barry: He is alive. But there is something on his back. Like an insect. I know what it is. Oliver, do you remember the file we saw on the computer?
Oliver: Yeah. PROJECT BLUE BEETLE. What about it?
Barry: I think he is not the project. The object attached to his back might be the project blue beetle they are working upon.
Oliver: Then we need to hurry up. I think the guards already got alert about us. We need to escape now.
Barry: That might be a problem. I don't know how to come back from this place.
Suddenly an orb near the broken pod started to glow and within seconds he was on the floor above him along with Jaime and stood before his team.
Claire: How did you do that?
Barry: I don't know. But I have a feeling that it might not be a coincidence.
Suddenly Jaime started to mutter something.
Jaime: (weakly) Koriand'r… BG… Mxy…
He drifted into unconsciousness and barry lifted him onto his shoulders.
Barry: You guys follow me. I will make way for you.
He left the area with super speed and started to knock the guards who are in his way. Oliver and the rest followed the trail of gust and reached the ground level. They came out of the place along with indigo as their prisoner. Claire took her onto her shoulders and started to run outside. When they reached out barry was already there with Jaime in his hands.
Location: Cadmus base, outside…
Barry and Claire handed over Indigo and Jaime to alex's agents and they took them to the DEO.
Alex: (to oliver) Nice work. I will take care of him. Don't worry.
Oliver nodded his head and looked over to kara.
Alex: She will come around. Now, I think this base is now completely surrounded by the feds and police. I think they might not like you meddling with their work.
Oliver: Understood.
Alex smiles warmly and leaves the place leaving the vigilante alone in his thoughts. He saw kara, Claire and barry chatting on a roof top and he took out an arrow. He aimed it at the building and landed on the roof surprising the other heroes.
Barry: So… We busted out a kid and also captured an alien who is of coluian origin. What's next? Zombies?
Oliver: Given the past few days, nothing will surprise me more if we encounter zombies in the future.
Barry chuckled lightly and oliver jabbed him in the shoulder playfully. Kara stood near the edge of the roof and looks into the sky. Claire approaches her.
Claire: Hey.
Kara: Hi.
Claire: You know, I never really understood the earth's customs. Although I was created on earth, I only wanted to know a lot about Krypton and Colu. Now, I am happy that I get to know a lot more about earth.
Kara: And why's that?
Claire: Because of its people and their relations.
Kara looked down on the ground as she know exactly where this conversation is going.
Kara: You don't have to mediate between me and oliver. That guy is like a closed book. The more you try to open it the hard he becomes.
Claire: Just give him a try. I know people on earth give second chances to people. Don't judge him as astra judged you. He is not like others.
Kara: I don't have any problem with him. Just…
Claire: Just?
Kara: Before crisis happened the only family stood with me is alex, eliza and kal. I don't have any other relations or other foster families. And now everything's just messed up. Yes, I should give him another chance. But, what if something happens and he hates me. I can't take it more. I can't take people judging me with some silly reasons. In the other timeline, I gave astra another chance but she betrayed me and I couldn't forgive myself, alex was in danger because I gave astra another chance. I think he is better off without me.
Claire: I understand what you are saying. But…
Kara: I'm sorry Claire. If there is a chance that I could trust him, I would. Definitely.
Claire: Is it because that he is on a team that is trying to kill you?
Kara: Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know.
Claire: What if he leaves the team and joins you?
Kara lifted her head in surprise.
Claire: If he leaves the team, then he could be trusted right?
Kara: Hmm. I guess so.
Claire: Then he won't be a part of the Task force – x. All you have to do is ask him to drop from the team.
Kara: Why me?
Claire: Because he loves you and he would do anything you ask. Just ask him for once and see what happens.
Kara: (sighs) Fine. But, I will ask him after we get to know about this kid.
Claire: Ok.
Claire squeals and hugs kara, which made her chuckle lightly. They all joined together and saw the police and FBI taking down all the equipments of cadmus. The four heroes stood on the roof top as air breezing lightly and they saw the building being demolished within an hour. Oliver became determined that he would find what cadmus is trying to do with Jaime. He looked out into the darkness on another building and saw a man in a black suit with a bat symbol on it. The man nodded his head lightly and oliver did it exactly in response. The man moved from his place fastly in a blink of an eye and oliver turned his head towards the moon which is bright in the sky. His first steps towards building the team begins from now…
Meanwhile…
In the galaxy far, far away…
Planet: THANAGAR…
A woman in a green suit came towards the citadel of the thanagar planet and entered it to see a man in black dress half opened, lighting a cigar in his mouth.
Woman: Lobo. We found blue beetle's location.
The man sitting on the throne stood on his feet kicking a head of a man near his feet which has wings attached to his body, started rolling down the floor and stopped near her feet.
Lobo: It's about time. Koriand'r gather our team. We find that little shit and punish him for disobeying my orders.
Koriand'r: Is that really necessary. He is a part of our team.
Lobo: You're right. We find that little shit and bang him enough, and he will have no other option than obeying my orders.
Koriand'r sighs and taps her comms.
Koriand'r: Booster gold, this is starfire. We found blue beetle, gather our team. We are going for a trip to a planet named EARTH.
Booster gold: (through his comms)Roger that. Mxy and Miss martian will be thrilled to know this.
Lobo laughed maniacally and whistled into the sky. A roaring sound came from the sky, tearing through the buildings a bike appeared before lobo. He motioned starfire to hop on and they both started to leave the planet which is filled with dead bodies of ManHawks. Blood dripped through the roof of the citadel. Lobo and his cosmic family set a course towards the home of our heroes… PLANET EARTH. But, they don't know what was about to hit them in their journey.
