Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Wolf and Reaper. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.
(Mistral.)
Azul continued to rush around with amusement. His semblance was constantly improving as the Huntsmen in training paused only to look around. He looked around with much interest, eager to anything to happen.
Ruby started checking Crescent Rose. She knew her boyfriend was starting to heal; she just wanted to talk and see if she could try and heal the mend before the duo moved on.
Azul looked at her with a hum and started to walk towards her side. He cleared his throat and looked at her with interest while sitting down on the chair next to her.
"So, are we just going to pretend there isn't something to talk about?" Azul asked, gaining a frown from Ruby as he turned to look at her with a hum.
"I don't know…" Ruby said to which Azul could only sigh as he crossed his arms. "We've been… Weird for a while." Ruby put in to which Azul rubbed at his temples.
He said nothing and turned to look at Ruby who could only frown. She wanted this to be over. She liked the more peaceful times when she and Azul used to just play and relax and not worry about things when it came down it.
Still? Azul didn't want to worry about that, he wasn't a romance expert… He and Ruby were partners, a team. They had been together since they were kids.
"I don't want to be weird." Azul said, crossing his arms and sighed with interest. "Still? We've been through worse, Rubes. You know more than anything that I don't like fighting." Azul said, annoyance painting his tone.
He knew for a fact that Ruby was mad at him. He didn't want her to be mad at him, there was far too much they had gone through to simply trip and fall at the finish line.
"I told you know that I didn't mean to fight Tyrian myself." Azul said while cracking his fingers. "I didn't know he'd be too much to beat. I just acted; you know I always act like this when it comes to fighting. You cant think in a fight, not if your being thrown into combat without any time to fight." Azul stated as Ruby hummed and nodded.
"He could have killed you, Azul." Ruby stated and looked at Azul while shaking her head back and forth.
There was plenty to discuss between the couple, but neither knew what to start talking about. It wasn't like they were hard core romantics… Well, Azul wasn't, all Ruby knew about romance was her books.
Azul was silent, contemplating what to say next. He didn't want this talk to just boil down to blame games, constantly questioning each other and such.
"How long do you think it is before Cinder tries to crush the town?" Azul questioned Ruby as she turned to look around at the rest of the school. "Their going to crush the rest of Mistral when they come back. I just don't know how to stop her. Last time we ran into the town? We almost lost Vale." Azul said, shaking his head as he thought about the woman.
She was dangerous, and no doubt she'd crush them if they tried to take her down once more. Still? Azul would be damned if he let her get away with this.
"And if they come back to Haven?" Ruby questioned to which Azul rubbed at his arms. "Then can you promise me you let me help you?" Ruby asked as Azul nodded and started to fold his legs under him.
"Yeah, we're a team, Rubes." Azul stated, waving his hands back and forth. "I just don't want to let anyone get hurt. She's going to bring in the big guns when they come to Haven." Azul said and placed a hand on Ruby's shoulder, gaining a smile from her.
The duo nodded and stood up, their feelings at ease for a bit. It didn't fix everything, but it was enough of a start to try and make things better.
It was then they slowly heard the sounds of Bullhead engines flying overhead. They looked up at the sky before sharing a look and rushed to the door.
They blinked before the Bullhead started to set down. Both could only share a look of interest while trying to question why a new bullhead had come to the school.
"Should we go ask the headmaster?" Ruby heard Azul ask as he turned to look at Ruby with curiosity.
She shrugged, curious as to what had brought the craft to here. She could only guess what was aboard the craft. There was going to be a storm coming sooner or later.
And both would only hope they were ready by then when it arrived sooner or later. Yep, things would be insane sooner or later eventually come then.
