Natasha fought with a boy with blonde hair and electric blue eyes, and the blonde girl. Steve fought two girls with black hair, one with really short hair, one with long braided hair. Tony took on the blonde boy, Will, and a boy who looked like an elf. Wanda fought an African American girl and Peter fought an Asian boy. Clint fought a girl with eyes like a kaleidoscope. And I fought the boy with sea-green eyes.
"So, how are ya?" he asked, casually doing expert sword-fighting moves like they were nothing.
"Um, good?" I said, not really sure how to respond. I didn't usually have conversations while fighting.
"Good, I'm good too. Although I'm kinda hungry," he said thoughtfully.
"You're always hungry seaweed brain," shouted the blonde girl from across the room. "You're stomach is basically a bottomless pit."
The boy laughed. "Are you two seriously having a conversation in the middle of a fight?" the girl with short, black hair asked.
"Yes, in fact, we are. Care to join us pinecone face?" the sea-green haired boy asked.
"You two are weirdos," she said.
"What's wrong with being a weirdo?" the boy who looked like an elf asked.
"Well, obviously you don know because you are a weirdo too," the black-haired girl said.
"So? I still don't see what's wrong with that," the elf boy said.
"I think we're all forgetting who the real weirdos are here," the girl with kaleidoscope eyes said.
"Who?" the elf boy asked.
"Jason and Frank!" the girl declared.
"What?" the Asian boy and the boy with lightning blue eyes exclaimed at the same time.
"You put peach preserves on brownies!" the girl said.
"Wait, what?" the girl with short black hair asked, laughing.
"It was only once!" the Asian boy defended.
"Yeah, and besides, it was really good!" the boy with lightning blue eyes said.
"You two are disgusting," the girl with long black, braided hair said.
"Tell me about it," said the African-American girl.
I looked around the room to see that the rest of the team was just as confused as I was. Who starts a conversation in the middle of a fight, still fights like an expert, and doesn't even break a sweat? I wondered.
Suddenly Will knocked out Tony. Will and the elf boy moved on to help take down Natasha.
Seconds later Natasha was knocked out on the floor.
The four kids moved on to help knock out the rest of the Avengers.
Soon there was only me left. The sea-green-eyed boy quickly disarmed me. "Really sorry about this, I hope you understand," he said right before the world went black.
"Aw man, you guys were texting Avengers? Lucky," Percy exclaimed.
"Not really. they kidnapped me," Nico said.
Percy shrugged. "It's still cool though," he said. Nico sighed and shook his head.
"Wow, I knew we had weird lives, but I never imagined we would have a fight with superheroes," Jason said.
"Same. Can our lives get any weirder?" Piper asked.
"NO! DON'T SAY THAT!" Percy exclaimed.
"Why?" Frank asked.
"Rule number one of being a demigod: do not say 'can my life get any weirder?' or 'how hard can it be?' or 'Things can not get any worse.' That's practically you begging the fates to mess your life up. Believe me, I speak from experience," Percy said.
"This is true," Thalia said.
"So, what are we gonna tell Chiron? He must have noticed we were gone," Annabeth asked.
"Hide? Blend into the crowd of campers? Drown?" Percy suggested.
Annabeth sighed. "And people ask why I never let you make any battle plans," she said.
"You're the son of Posiden, you can't drown," Frank pointed out.
Percy shrugged. "I'll just hide at the bottom of the lake," he said.
Annabeth facepalmed.
?Tony's POV:
What in the world? was my first thought when I woke up on the infirmary floor.
I sat up and looked around. The rest of the Avengers were knocked on the floor too. What happened? I wondered. Then I remembered Nico. Where was he?
Then I remembered Nico's friends, and fighting them. I remembered them having a casual conversation in the middle of a heated fight. I remember them doing expect fighting moves like they were nothing, and it looked like they had been training for years.
Those kids were probably from the camp too. That awful camp that made children fight. Nico was our key to finding the camp and saving all those kids, but we lost him.
Then a sly smile appeared on my face.
I also remembered that during our fight I slipped a mini tracker with a video camera that shows live video footage onto the shirt of that elf boy, Leo, or Joker Blowtorch.
I rushed out of the infirmary, and into the lab to pull up the footage and get the exact location of the camp.
?Bruce's POV:
I was in the lab. I left the infirmary after the kids started fighting the rest of the team. I didn't think they needed the hulk's help. They were only kids after all.
It had been two hours and I was starting to get worried. Was it possible that the kids had won the fight?
Suddenly tony rushed into the lab chanting 'The tracker! The tracker! The tracker!'
"What?" I said.
"I put a tracker onto joker blowtorch! Now I can see where the camp is!" he exclaimed.
"You put a tracker on a blowtorch?" I asked, very confused.
"Ugg, no. The kid from our group chat. His real name is Leo, and while we were fighting I put a mini tracker with a video camera on his shirt, so I can see where the camp is," he said.
"Wait, are you saying that the kids won the fight?" I asked.
"Yup," he sighed.
I was astonished. How could a group of ten kids defeat the Avengers? "How?" I asked.
"I don't know, they probably trained at that awful camp. They had a literal conversation in the middle of a fight while doing expert fighting moves," Tony said.
"But you have the tracker so you can see where the camp is and pull up video so we can still save them," I asked.
"Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now," he said.
"Putting the tracker on the boy was a smart move," I said.
"They don't call me a genius for nothing!" he exclaimed.
"Where are the others?" I asked.
"On the floor of the infirmary," he responded casually.
I facepalmed. "Of course," I mumbled.
"Well, let's get this tracker running!" Tony exclaimed. I'd never seen him this excited about saving anyone.
He rushed over to the computer and started typing codes into it. Soon a map of New York showed up with a little red dot on Long Island.
He started trying more codes into the computer and soon a video showed up. The screen showed a video of what looked like a machine shop with wrenches and screws lying around. There was a bronze mechanical dragon in the middle of the workshop.
"FRIDAY, are the others awake yet?" Tony asked.
"Yes, they are," the AI replied.
"Alright, tell them to come up to the lab, they might want to see this," he said.
"Right away sir," FRIDAY responded.
"This is going to be interesting," Tony said.
?Tony's POV:
Natasha, Bucky, Steve, Wanda, Peter, and Clint rushed into the lab.
"What is it?" Clint asked.
"Remember when those kids knocked us out?" I asked.
"Don't remind me," Natasha muttered.
"And how they took Nico, our key to finding the camp and rescuing the kids," I said.
"Where are you going with this?" Peter asked.
I smirked. "Well, he wasn't our only key," I said, pointing to the computer which showed a video of a workshop.
"Tony, a new lab isn't going to help you find him," Wanda said.
"Where was this video taken?" Steve asked.
"I think you mean where is this video being taken," I said. I sighed as I looked around at the faces of my confused teammates. "Isn't it obvious? This is a Iive video of what's happening at the camp, or at least around that Leo kid. I stuck a mini video camera and tracker onto his shirt!"
"No, it wasn't obvious," Natasha said.
"Whatever, let's just watch the video," I said rolling my eyes.
We all directed our attention to the screen which was showing a video of two hands fiddling wth some screws and scrap metal.
Suddenly a man with black hair and a leopard print T-shirt came storming into the workshop. "You are in big trouble Lewis!" he exclaimed waving his finger in the air.
"Um, actually my name is Leo, spelled L-E-O. You know, the name you haven't gotten right once since I came to thins camp," Leo corrected.
"Um, actually I don't really care," the dude snapped.
Leo sighed. "Can I help you Mr D?" he asked. Oh, so this must be the camp director Nico was talking about. I thought. Nico was right, he doesn't look like he likes kids that much. Just another thing to add to the list of things that make that camp awful.
"Did you set a bunch of mechanical spiders free in the Athena cabin?" Mr D asked, putting his hands on his hips.
"No, why do you ask," Leo replied really quickly.
Mr D crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Really? then why is all of the Athena cabin standing on top of the roof shrieking 'Spiders! The spiders are coming for us!' at the top of their lungs?" he questioned.
"Umm. . . well, you see," Leo stuttered.
The dude sighed. "It is very hard to organize an expensive wine collection when twenty terrified campers are screaming at the top of their lungs," he said. Expensive wine collection? This 'Mr D' better not be an alcoholic or I swear I'm gonna-
My thoughts were interrupted when Leo spoke up. "Even if I wanted to Mr D, I wouldn't be able to get the spiders out of their cabin until they finish their mission," he said.
"and what is this 'Mission' exactly?" Mr D asked, putting the word mission in air quotes.
"To find and steal the Athena cabin's battle plans for Capture the Flag because they win almost every time, and I need to know their secrets" Leo replied.
"Isn't that cheating?" Mr D asked.
"No, it's strategy," Leo stated 'matter-of-factly'.
Mr D rolled his eyes. "Whatever, I don't care. Just know that it's your fault when the Athena cabin comes after you. How long will your mission strategy thing take?" he asked.
"Just a couple more minutes, and then they'll all leave the cabin automatically," Leo answered.
Mr D sighed. "Whatever, but if I hear any screams of terror more than fifteen minutes later you're gonna be cleaning two hundred and forty-nine dishes tonight," he said.
"M'kay," Leo said as Mr D left the workshop.
"I don't think that Mr D should be running a camp for children," Steve remarked.
"Yeah, neither do I," Natasha said.
"He doesn't seem to like kids very much," Bucky stated.
"Yeah, Nico told me and Bruce about that Mr D guy, he said Mr D was kind of forced to work at the camp, and the guy hates it. Nico also said he doesn't like kids or anybody for that matter," I said.
"Well then who the heck put him in charge of the camp?" Natasha exclaimed, throwing her arms up in the air.
"Mr Stark, when are we gonna go save them?" Peter asked.
"Soon, I think we should just watch the video for a little bit longer, and see what else happens," I replied.
Suddenly a loud noise that sounded like a conch horn erupted from the screen scaring Clint and causing him to yelp, and jump up in the air, landing back down on his but.
"Owww," he groaned.
Natasha snorted. "So much for world-class spy assassin," she said.
Clint rolled his eyes. "Whatever," he said.
Leo ran out of the workshop into a field of strawberries, then onto a path that led into a forest. The video was shaking because he was running and it was really starting to annoy me.
"Ugg, I should've attached the camera to his hair or something, this shaking is getting really irritating," I complained.
"Just shut up and watch the video Stark," Bucky said.
Eventually, he came out of the forest and started walking at a normal pace through what looked like a sword-fighting arena.
"Aw man, that is so cool," Clint marvelled.
A girl with choppy brown hair and kaleidoscope eyes was practising with a dagger on one of the dummies placed in the center of the arena.
"Oh hey, that's the girl I fought with earlier, Piper I think she said her name was," Clint said.
Peter nodded in remembrance. "Yeah, I think that was her name," he said.
"Umm, you coming to dinner or what?" Leo asked the girl.
"Wait, it's dinner already?" the girl asked with a puzzled expression.
"Yeah, the conch horn blew about two minutes ago," Leo responded.
"Oh, I guess I was too caught up in. . . this to notice," Piper said, gesturing to a pile of dummies that were cut in half and had their heads and limbs ripped off.
Leo let out a low whistle. "Remind me not to get on your bad side," he said.
Piper smirked. "Will do," she replied.
"So, are you coming to dinner?" Leo asked.
"Yep," she said, putting her dagger in a scabbard she had around her waist. "Let's go."
She walked out of the arena, with Leo following behind her.
They walked past more woods, and a bunch of oddly decorated cabins arranged in the shape of the Greek letter omega.
Finally, they got to what looked like an outdoor dining Pavillion with at lease twenty long tables filled with kids aging from seven to seventeen.
Leo sat down at a table that had the word Hepheastus written in greek at the head of the table, and Piper sat down at a table that had the word Aphrodite in greek on it.
"Hey Leo," a girl said to him as he sat down.
"Oh, hey Nyssa," he replied.
"I haven't seen you all day, where were you?" she asked.
"Well, first we went to avengers tower because Nico got kidnapped again, and then I was in bunker nine for the rest of the day," he answered.
The girl rolled her eyes. "Of course Nico got kidnapped again," she sighed.
What? What do they mean 'again'? Is getting kidnapped a normal occurrence for Nico? I thought worriedly.
"Umm, I think you've got a tick or something on your shirt," the girl said, pointing to the mini tracker camera I stuck on Leo's shirt.
"Oh no," Natasha said.
"Here, lemme get it," the girl said.
She punched the camera and the screen went black.
"Well, that was. . . interesting," Steve remarked.
"Yeah, can we pleeeaaaaaassssseeeeeee save them now?" Peter asked.
I chuckled. "Yeah, sure," I said.
"You'd better call Happy to fly the helicopter this time," Natasha said.
"Yeah, I don't want to crash into another building this time," Steve said.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Fine," I said, as I got out my phone to text Happy.
This time, we aren't going to mess up. I thought.
