Chapter Seven
"Barry, care to share with the team… and Oliver and Felicity how you managed to get blinded by the same meta, in the exact same way five years later?" Cisco asked, leaning against the door frame to the med bay.
"This happened before?" Alex questions from her seat next to Kara.
"Not only has this happened before, it happened in the same place." Caitlin answered, checking Barry's eyes with a flashlight. Barry just looked at Caitlin… or more so her direction. "Sorry, not helping."
"Can someone get a hold of Ralph, Wally you and Ralph are gonna need to take point on protecting the city." Barry ordered from his seat on the bed.
"Dad are you ever going to see again?" Kara asked, waving her hand in front of her fathers face.
"Yeah, is Barry going to see again?" Alex stood and grabbed Kara's hand.
"Well with Barry's speed healing he should be able to see again in a couple of hours, just like last time." Caitlin informed everyone.
"I thought you said, 'I got this' and if this is you having this I am really surprised you're even still alive." Oliver joked, walking into the med bay. Barry rolled his eyes at the comment. "All jokes aside, who is this Dr. Light?"
"Dr. Light Aka Linda Park, originally this Linda Park was from earth two. That was before the multiverse was destroyed, Right?" Cisco debriefed the team.
"How do we know she isn't our earth's Linda Park?" Felicity asked
"Because, we pinged her cell phone when Barry told us what happened and she was at Central City Picture News the entire time." Cisco answered.
"Well let's find her and find out where the hell she came from and what she's doing here." Barry ordered his team, and everyone cleared out of the med bay.
"Girls, do you want to go home or stay here?" Barry asked, looking around not knowing where they were.
Kara and Alex looked at eachother. And agreed to stay. "We want to stay and help any way we can." Alex answered to the right of Barry.
"Dad?" Kara grabbed Barry's hand. "Are you sure you're gonna be ok?"
"Of course Barry is going to be ok Kara, he's the flash." Alex
"Kara, sweetie…" Barry wrapped Kara into a side hug. "I'm going to be ok. If your mom says I'm gonna be ok then I believe her." Barry reached for Alex and brought her into the hug. "Now why don't you girls go get your papa Joe for me." Alex, and Kara left to do as they were told.
"Hey Bar how are you doing, your girls said that you wanted to see me…" Barry moved his head in Joe's direction. And waved his hand in front of his eyes. "Or rather talk to me."
"Yes, do you mind taking the girls out to eat and getting food for everyone please? I am starving and it would cheer Kara up, she loves Pot stickers." Barry hands Joe his bank card.
"You know you're gonna go broke if you keep handing out your Bank card like this." Joe says walking out of the room.
"Well as Caitlin puts it 'im as rich as Bill Gates." Barry continues talking to himself.
"Babe, he left when he took your card." Caitlin said, trying not to laugh.
"What are you doing in here, don't you have stuff to do?" Barry joked with Caitlin.
"This is my lab." Caitlin challenged
"This is my building." Barry challenged back.
"Touche.." Caitlin kisses Barry on the cheek.
"When Wally gets Back can you have him bring Kara's cake and presents?" Barry Reached out for Caitlin but she had already moved. "Cait?.." Caitlin didn't want to be mean but she couldn't help it, Plus Frost convinced her to be silent. "Can people stop leaving when I'm talking!" Barry screamed in frustration, and Caitlin was silently laughing too hard.
At that moment Cisco walked in and saw what was happening, stopped mid step and walked in the direction he came from as he mouthed the word nope.
Across town Joe, Kara, and Alex were getting some chinese take out. With Barry and Kara's metabolism the food came out to be more than what Joe had expected. After Joe was done paying for the food he noticed Kara looked a bit down. "So Kara, what did you get for your birthday?" Joe asked when they sat down at a table to wait for their food.
Kara perked right up and was happy again. "Well Dad got me something called an Xbox One, I don't know what it is but I can't wait to find out." Kara explained her first gift and Alex rolled her eyes.
"Don't worry I'll teach you how to use it." Alex nugged Kara with her elbow. "Barry also got her a phone. He got me one as well."
"Mom got me a tablet, if it's what i think it is then i'm excited to use it, and Frost had uncle Cisco made me this necklace."Kara lifted her necklace to show him, Joe Smiled once he saw it.
"What did Oliver and Felicity get you?" Joe asked
"I don't know, I didn't get to open the presents."Kara looked a bit sad again.
Joe pulled out his phone to text Wally.
-'Wally, can you bring Kara's presents to the lab?'
-'Already on it.'
Their food was ready, they packed up the food into the car and headed back to the lab.
Back at the lab Caitlin was guiding Barry to the cortex and to his desk. Kara ran in and into her father's arms. "Alright everyone Barry bought food"
Joe and Alex set down the bags of food.
"Pot stickers!" Kara ran at super speed, grabbed the box of pot stickers and ran back to her father but broke Barry's desk.
"I JUST MADE HIM THAT DESK!" Cisco screamed in shock and terror, as well as everyone else.
Kara looked at Barry scared to be yelled at. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to break it ." Kara apologized with tears in her eyes, suddenly finding her shoes more interesting.
Caitlin ran over to Kara after she heard the crash to see if she was ok. "Kara sweetie are you ok, are you hurt?" Caitlin knelt down to her daughter's height to see if she was ok.
Barry scooted in the direction of Kara's crying. "Kara, are you ok?" Barry reached out and brought Kara into a hug and patted her down to see if she was ok, Alex ran over to see as well.
Caitlin frosted out, going full momma bear on Cisco. "Why did you scream at her like that? It's her birthday and you know she's still trying to control her powers." Caitlin yelled with an icy echo in her voice.
"I'm sorry she scared the hell out of me." Cisco said, trying to defend himself.
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to." Caitlin pointed to Kara.
Cisco walked over to Kara and knelt down to her size. "Kara I'm sorry I screamed at you, since it's your birthday and as an apology I will build you anything that you want as a present/apology, what do you say?" Kara stopped crying and nodded in response. "Now when you think of something you can find me in my workshop ok."
"Ok" Kara responded.
Cisco walked out of the cortex after getting his food.
"Kara, Alex, why don't you both eat your food in the med bay?" The girls grabbed their food and went and sat on the bed in the med bay.
"Well that was new." Joe said to the side of Barry. Barry flinched to not realizing he was there.
"Jesus, Joe warn me next time." Joe laughed, forgetting he couldn't see.
"Anyway, Barry, have you given any thought into sending my granddaughters to school?" Joe asked
Barry just now realizes "oh yeah, not going to lie I totally forgot about that." Caitlin walked up to the two men with Barry's food.
"Don't worry I signed them up last night, we'll I signed up Kara we still need to adopt Alex."
"Where did Cecile go by the way? We wanted to know how the paperwork is coming along." Barry asked his adoptive father.
"She took baby Jenna home." The older man explained.
Three hours later after everyone was done eating they had disposed of the trash, Oliver and Felicity had gone back to their hotel, Caitlin had decided to let Kara open her presents from Oliver and Felicity. Barry had decided to lay down in the med bay.
Caitlin and Alex had brought Kara the two presents into the med bay where she was sitting next to her father.
Kara reached for the small gift bag, Kara pulled out a black box with the house of El symbol engraved on the top. At the bottom of the box was a note.
'Happy Birthday Kara, a little red birdy told me you've been having some trouble controlling your super hearing, so I made these special hearing aids, they can connect to your phone and they have an on and off switch. They give you a way to block out the noisy world.

Felicity.'
Caitlin read the note and took them out of the special casing and put them on Kara. Kara turned on the hearing aids and relaxed her hearing and for the first time since she got here it was quiet.
Kara smiled and hugged Caitlin a bit too tight. "Kara, why don't you open the other one." Kara ripped off the green wrapping paper and Alex jumped out of her chair and ran over to Kara.
"No way they got you a trampoline." Kara just looked confused but was happy that Alex was excited.
"What's a trampoline?" Kara asked
Barry sitting up from the med bay looked over to where his family was. "Oh come on, Oliver got you a trampoline?" Barry said now able to see.
"Dad, what is it?" Kara asked.
"Something we have to assemble ourselves." Barry, noticing Cisco in the door frame, looked at him and smiled.
"Nope absolutely not, she's your daughter. '' Cisco argued but knew he wasn't getting out of it.
Barry called Kara over and whispered something in her ear. She just smiled and nodded to him.
Kara walked up to Cisco and asked if he could help to set up her new trampoline with the saddest puppy dog pout.
Cisco tried to say no but who could say now that face. Barry stood up from the bed and then the meta alarm went off. Barry instantly went into his suit with the mask off, Alex finding it cool that her new family were superheros.
"Cisco get Wally to suit up when he gets here, it's just going to be me and him. I don't want to risk anyone getting hurt." Barry sped off out of the building.
"Cisco, where am I going?" Barry asked not knowing where to go.
"Central City picture news." Cisco informed the Scarlet speedster.
Wally soon caught up to Barry on the way there.
Once outside Barry told Wally his game plan. "Alright, Wally I'll distract Dr. Light while you get everyone out to safety, once everyone is safe take these meta cuffs and when you see an opening take it."
"Alright." Wally took the meta cuffs from Barry and went into action taking everyone out of the building in four seconds.
Once inside Barry stood on one side of the room and Dr. Light was on the other.
"Linda park.." Barry called out.
Dr. Light turned around ready to strike but Barry put his hands up in surrender.
"I just want to talk, is that alright with you?" Dr. Light powered down, and agreed.
"We've done this before, how are you here?" Barry asked, trying to get her to be vulnerable so Wally could take an opening.
"The multiverse was destroyed, how are you here?" Barry pushed.
"Clearly it wasn't, just let me do what I came here to do and I'll be on my way." Linda requested.
Wally saw an opening and took it without hesitation cuffed Dr. Light and knocked her out.
"Jesus, wally did you have to knock her out?" Barry asked
"What? she ruined Kara's Birthday party." Wally said
Barry and Wally took Dr. Light back to Star Labs and put her into the pipeline.
Once Dr. Light was awake the whole Barry, Joe, and Cisco were outside of her containment pod ready to interrogate her.
"Linda Park, you're finally awake."
"What do you want with me?" Linda asked.
"We just want some information, that's all." Joe spoke up.
"What do you want to know?" She responded
"Is the multiverse really still intact?" Cisco asked the first question.
"Yes, next question."
"How are you here?" Barry asked
"Eobard Thawn dumped me here."
"What does he want?" Joe asked
"To see if you're worthy."
"Worthy of what?" Barry pushed
"Worthy of being conquered for him…"
