A young man is brought to the world of Miraculous Ladybug by Master Fu to help Ladybug and her allies. But the twist is, there's a different kind of Butterfly Miraculous in the Miracle Box that's completely different from the Moth Miraculous. Will Steel Butterfly fulfill his destiny, or will threats like Hawk Moth succeed? Rated T. Chloe redemption. Bunnyx salt and redemption.

15. Dragon Butterfly vs Animan

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug, Cat Noir and Steel Butterfly.

Chapter 14: Dragon Butterfly vs. Animan.

(Author's notes: Like the title says, Steel Butterfly in his Dragon Butterfly power-up will go up against Animan. And as I said in the last chapter, when Animan has to fight Dragon Butterfly while taking on the form of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Dragon Butterfly will retaliate by taking on the form of a dragon. After all, as the Predacon hybrid Ser-Ket briefly proved in her battle against Dinobot leader Grimlock in the Transformers: Retribution comic book series, the dragon is mightier than the dinosaur. And since you guys already know what Dragon Butterfly's dragon mode is gonna look like, I won't bother repeating myself. However, chief among Dragon Butterfly's powers – both in human form and in dragon mode – are fire breath, absolute invulnerability, dragon armor summoning, wing blades, supernatural size control, proficiency in using reinforcement magic, the ability to create his angelic/demonic dragon armor through magical and non-magical means that don't involve murdering dragons whatsoever, mastery of using body armor, his super strength and super speed being augmented to the point where Dragon Butterfly can carry his own weight and the weight of his armor while moving very fast, supernatural armor regeneration, the ability to angelically repair property damages with his fire breath similar to his Miraculous Steel Butterfly Cure, the ability to angelically revive the dead with his fire breath also similar to his Miraculous Steel Butterfly Cure, a sonic roar, and complete control over the volume and intensity of his sonic roar.

Also, in this chapter, Alya and Nino will get together the same way they did in the original timeline, but with a few differences due to the changes in the timeline. Chief among the changes is that Nino is crushing on Alya the same way he was originally crushing on Marinette.

Lastly, Dragon Butterfly's ability to transform into his dragon mode is both a voice-activated command and an occurrence that only happens when he's in a state of pure angelic and demonic anger.

(Quantic Universe Earth 139, Paris, France, April 20th, 2015, third person POV...)

In the courtyard of Francoise Dupont High School, Marinette is reading a magazine.

She reads, '"Leo: Your heart's gonna roar."'

She turns the page of the magazine and she sees pictures of Adrien on both pages.

Marinette comments, "Wow, roar!"

Marinette and Alya giggle at Marinette's little joke.

Even Miguel's custodian clone chuckles softly, knowing through his link with Miguel and the other clones that Miguel thinks Marinette is humorous, even when she rarely jokes as Ladybug.

Across the courtyard, Nino is spying on Marinette and Alya, with his gaze fixed on Alya.

Adrien appears behind Nino and teases him as he states, "FYI, Alya's never gonna fall in love with a statue."

Nino pulls Adrien aside so they can hide behind the stack of gym mattresses.

Nino states, "Shhh! You know I'm no good with the ladies, especially this one all of a sudden. I mean, seriously dude, do I just go up to Alya and crack her a joke? Shoot her a compliment? Invite her to the zoo? Play it serious?"

Adrien replies, "Nino, you're way over-thinking this. '"Invite her to the zoo?"' Are you serious?"

Nino replies back, "Well, they have this really cool new panther exhibit over there."

Adrien states, "Listen, just be yourself, man."

Nino replies, "That's easy for you to say, Mr. Front-of-the-cover-Teen-Model-weekly. I'm not that cool."

Adrien replies back, "I beg to differ. You're as cool as I am, dude. Trust me, if you weren't as cool as I am in our own separate ways, you wouldn't be my best bud. Invite her to the zoo. She'll say yes. I guarantee it."

Nino begins having confidence, and Nino starts walking towards the two girls.

Having the courage he needs thanks to some advice from his father, Nino comes up to Alya and invites her on a trip to the Parisian zoo known as Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes.

The dialogue is as follows: "Hey, Alya. I was wondering... would you like to go to the Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes Zoo with me? I want to check out the new panther exhibit with someone I know from school."

Surprisingly, Alya replies, "Yes, of course I'll go with you, Nino."

Nino replies back, "Great! I'll make some plans. Meet me at the entrance at four o'clock this afternoon."

Alya replies, "I'll be there."

Meanwhile, Marinette and Adrien meet up at the bakery as they wait for Gustavo to pick him up.

Miguel is waiting for them inside.

Miguel says, "The next Akumatization to prepare for is Alya Cesaire's father, Otis Cesaire, aka Animan, an animalistic supervillain with the ability to shapeshift into any animal in existence, including extinct animals like dinosaurs. In addition to shapeshifting into any particular animal, Animan gets the same abilities of the animal he turns into. Such as if he were to shapeshift into a dangerous bird such as a red-tailed hawk, he would be given the ability to fly. But here's the catch: his only weakness is becoming exhausted if he's tricked into shapeshifting into multiple animals in rapid succession."

After processing this information, Marinette and Adrien reply in unison, "We'll be prepared for your signal, sir." "We'll be prepared for your signal, sir."

Miguel becomes Steel Butterfly as he quotes, "Prepare yourself for the wild kingdom, hmm?"

Steel Butterfly teleports to his lair and prepares himself for the fight against Animan.

Meanwhile, at the Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes Zoo, Alya and Nino are looking at the new panther exhibit in awe.

Thankfully, Nino's parents and Alya's parents allowed them to go with Nora for extra protection just in case something was to go wrong, which was unlikely... for now.

Otis came up to the twosome and asks, "What do you kids think of the new panther?"

Alya replies, "Dad, I may be scared of African big cats, but I will admit that you picked the right panther for everyone to see."

Nino adds, "Yes, Mr. Cesaire, you did well with taking care of the animals here."

Otis smiles as he checks his watch.

Realizing what time it is, Otis advises, "It's almost time for me to feed the panther, kids."

Nino replies, "No problem; we'll be on our way to another exhibit."

Alya adds, "See you home for dinner, Dad."

Otis hugs his second oldest daughter and the soon-to-be new couple head off to the next exhibit.

Later on, Kim and Max are entering the zoo to see the exhibit with the same new black panther that Alya and Nino saw – the animal, not the fictional superhero.

They come across Otis Cesaire feeding the new panther a large enough cut of meat to satiate it.

Otis states soothingly, "Look at what Daddy's brought for you. Only the finest for my baby."

As the panther starts eating, Kim remarks, "Whoa! Look at the size of that piece of meat it's eating!"

Max explains, "It's a typical diet for a feline species requiring the strength to run at speeds in excess of up to fifty miles per hour."

Kim asks, "Fifty miles per hour? Is that all? I thought panthers were much faster than that. I bet that Steel Butterfly can beat it in a race since his Butterfly Miraculous grants him super speed."

Otis replies pridefully, "Impossible. Not even a magical superhuman could ever hope to compete with my panther."

Kim replies back, "I see."

The interaction pretty much remains the same as the original timeline, complete with Kim making fun of Otis for being an angered panther father.

Otis doesn't like that one bit.

In Hawk Moth's lair, the window opens as Hawk Moth remarks, "Unleashing the animal inside each of us. I like that idea."

He creates another Akuma.

Hawk Moth sends it off as he finishes, "Go ahead, my little evil Akuma. Fly off and take control of that zookeeper!"

The Akuma flies off to the Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes.

Meanwhile, Marinette and Alya are just arriving when Marinette feels the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.

Knowing what this means, Marinette pulls Alya with her to hide.

Alya asks, "Girl, what's wrong?"

Marinette replies, "My non-existent Spider-Sense tells me we're about to witness an Akuma attack, one in which the Akuma can control all different kinds of animals... including the ones that can eat people!"

Alya's face pales at the mention of how the next Akumatized victim can control even the most dangerous animals that can eat people.

Meanwhile, Hawk Moth's akuma infects Otis' bracelet.

Hawk Moth monologues, "Animan, I am Hawk Moth. I offer you the power to seek revenge on that boy for making fun of you, for a small price."

Otis/Animan replies, "Yes, Hawk Moth."

Otis is turned into a panther for his first transformation.

Meanwhile, while Max listens, Kim harasses another animal.

As a panther with an army of animals behind him, Animan states, "Hey, kiddo. Still up for a little race before Steel Butterfly shows up? Go ahead. I'll give you a head start. (roars)"

Kim and Max start running away in fear.

Animan turns to his now panther companion and says, "He's mine."

Animan chases after Kim.

Meanwhile, Nino, Alya, Adrien and Marinette are respectively far enough from the zoo so as to not get attacked by any of the animals, thanks to Marinette and Adrien respectively warning their BFFs.

Marinette and Adrien respectively call out from their separate hiding places without being seen or heard, "Tikki, Spots On!" and "Plagg, Claws Out!"

Nino and Alya huddle themselves in Alya's apartment, protected by Alya's oldest sister, Nora Cesaire.

Back in the zoo, Kim runs from Animan as fast as he can, but the Akumatized panther catches up to him.

Animan croons, "You lost, kiddo. What do you think of panthers now?"

Kim answers nervously, "That... panthers are the best?"

Ladybug comes onto the scene and asks, "And what do you think of ladybugs?"

Cat Noir adds, "And another black cat?"

Animan replies, "I think I'm higher on the food chain."

Dragon Butterfly asks while hovering, "Oh yeah? And what do you think about dragons?"

Animan stares slack-jawed at Dragon Butterfly's menacing aura, especially with the way his wings that resemble a combination of angelic white bird wings, red-brownish demonic bat wings, purplish-pink butterfly wings and multi-colored dragon wings put together continuously glowing to signify his ultimate power.

Animan gulps before replying nervously, "They're... the apex predators of the world?"

Hawk Moth's symbol flares on Animan's face as he says, "Animan, don't be afraid of Dragon Butterfly! He doesn't actually have the ability to transform into a dragon! Now, take their jewels! Their Miraculouses! Bring them to me!"

Dragon Butterfly tells Kim, "Kim Chien Le, if you truly value your life and wish to save your family and your friends the pain of grieving, get out of here NOW!"

Kim starts running away.

Animan tries to chase Kim, only to be restrained by Ladybug's yoyo.

Ladybug advises, "Cat Noir, his bracelet. The Akuma must be inside the charm!"

Cat Noir replies, "You hold him, I'll grab the bracelet."

Suddenly, the three heroes witness Animan's army of animals arriving and making their vocalizations in a threatening and warning manner.

Animan exclaims, "Attack!"

Cat Noir gulps as he slowly backs away, and then he makes a noise that sounds like a whimper and a scream at the same time as he takes off sprinting at full speed.

Ladybug gapes in fear before releasing her yoyo and she takes off sprinting too.

Still hovering in the air, Dragon Butterfly calls out angrily with his voice sounding angelic and demonic at the same time, "COWARDS! MUST I DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?!"

Dragon Butterfly gets in front of his protégés and snaps his fingers, increasing Ladybug and Cat Noir's confidences and braveries.

Ladybug and Cat Noir use their secondary weapons – titanium-laced restraints of all types and an extra yoyo Dragon Butterfly previously created for Ladybug and Cat Noir respectively – to restrain the animals.

As the last animal is restrained, Dragon Butterfly angrily asks, "What was that back there, huh?! Running away from those animals even though they can maul or eat people?! Have you guys forgotten that your Miraculouses give you near-invulnerability to physical harm, especially and partially because of your armors?!"

Cat Noir protests, "Hey! It was a spur of the moment thing, okay? Plus, those animals, especially bears, they're super scary!"

Dragon Butterfly huffs smoke from his nostrils in response, making Cat Noir shiver in fear.

Animan is heard yowling in pain as everyone whirls around to witness Animan getting electrocuted by the restraints that Ladybug and Cat Noir used.

Animan growls, "You may have disposed of my army, but you won't dispose of me that easily!"

Animan shapeshifts into a lion and roars loudly.

However, to everyone's shock, Dragon Butterfly doesn't even flinch; he just scowls dangerously.

Ladybug states quickly and fretfully, "Listen, Dragon Butterfly, we're sorry we ran away like that! But please, please don't kill him!"

Dragon Butterfly replies like his tone was from a domesticated dragon with telepathy, "Who said anything about killing him?"

Ladybug's eyes widen in shock, as she had not expected Dragon Butterfly would announce that he wasn't gonna outright kill the villain of the day.

Animan vents, "Hey, if you're not gonna kill me, you'll have to tame me, and that ain't gonna be easy."

Dragon Butterfly replies in his ultimate voice again, "As long as the Butterfly Miraculous makes me like a demigod, almost anything will be easy enough to move on to the bigger challenges."

With his body glowing in a multi-colored beam of light, Dragon Butterfly calls out at the top of his lungs, "DRAGON BUTTERFLY, DRAGON MODE!"

Dragon Butterfly slams his right fist into the ground followed by his left fist.

Dragon Butterfly's armored body starts metamorphosing into that of a giant armored dragon while the changing mechanics of his armor start imitating the transformation sound of the Transformers Fall of Cybertron Grimlock when he changes to dino mode. The mechanics of Dragon Butterfly's armor make the transformation sound only once before becoming non-mechanical metal and organic dragon armor.

Every animal on the scene, Animan included, all watch in horror as Dragon Butterfly starts changing into a giant armored dragon while previously-placed loudspeakers surrounding the area replay a sagely voice saying, "Quiet your mind to unleash your spirit totem as an avatar. If you are on the highest part of the astral plane, your spirit totem will manifest as a dragon!"

Fully transformed into his dragon mode, Dragon Butterfly hovers in the air as he lets out a sonic roar.

Dragon Butterfly roars out loud, "RRRRROOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRR!"

Anyone who wasn't too close was spared the deafening wrath of Dragon Butterfly's sonic roar while the onlookers were looking on in shock, horror, awe and amazement respectively.

Everyone across the city, Mayor Bourgeois, Master Fu, Hawk Moth, Ladybug and Cat Noir included, can see for themselves that Dragon Butterfly has transformed into a giant armored dragon.

Dragon Butterfly's dragon mode looks like a combination of a fully armored Saphira from Eragon, the Transformers Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Dragon Megatron, the Demon Shredder in his dragon mode from the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, Chikara Shisho in her dragon mode, Hisomi Shisho in his dragon mode, the TMNT 2003 Leonardo in his dragon mode, and the Transformers Prime Predaking in his dragon mode. Complete with Dragon Butterfly's wings in dragon mode being metallic bat-like dragon wings merged with bladed dragon wings.

In his lair, Hawk Moth grumbles a bit nervously, "I... I-I stand c-corrected. D-Dragon Butterfly transformed i-into... a dragon. And I still can't believe it."

Hawk Moth telepathically says to Animan, "Animan, use your most powerful form to take down that dragon!"

Animan transforms into a Tyrannosaurus Rex and roars loudly in a challenging tone.

Dragon Butterfly lets out a bellowing laugh as multi-colored mist emerges from his mouth.

As the multi-colored mist stays in front of his mouth, Dragon Butterfly's voice rings out telepathically, "Do you really think that a simple Tyrannosaurus Rex can defeat a mightier armored dragon?"

Animan roars in response as he charges.

Dragon Butterfly's fighting instinct kicks in as he punches Animan in the face really hard, knocking him down and knocking him out for the time being.

Dragon Butterfly wraps his tails against Animan's mouth as the dragon hero takes off in flight to the sky.

Once high enough, Dragon Butterfly drops Animan back down to the zoo.

Animan makes a big impact when he lands, causing him to roar in pain, and causing him to spit out the charm.

Ladybug and Cat Noir hold off the remaining animals as best as they can while Dragon Butterfly fights Animan one-on-one for the next ten minutes.

Despite Animan being at his strongest in dinosaur mode, Dragon Butterfly proved throughout the battle that the dragon was much mightier than the dinosaur.

After a final punch knocks Animan out for the count, Ladybug acts quickly by destroying the charm and purifying the Akuma, reverting Animan back into Otis Cesaire.

But before Ladybug can summon her Miraculous Ladybug, she sees in shock and awe as Dragon Butterfly uses his fire breath to repair the damages the whole incident brought to the entire zoo and returned the animals to their right cages, completely calmed down and with their typical species' favorite foods to feed them.

Everyone cheers as Dragon Butterfly roars in victory and lands in front of the heroes, thankful that his dragon mode isn't crowding or breaking the buildings, and thankful that his dragon mode wasn't wide or big enough to damage anything all at once.

Ladybug nervously steps forward as Dragon Butterfly lowers his head and neck to Ladybug's level.

Ladybug nervously puts her armored hand on Dragon Butterfly's snout and he starts purring like a domesticated dragon from fantasy movies, much to Ladybug's relief and much to everyone's relief.

Dragon Butterfly's telepathic voice rings out loud enough for everyone to hear, "Did you really think I was gonna bite? That was never gonna happen; I may be monstrous in my dragon mode, but I'm still in control of myself. You all don't need to worry; I'll only use my dragon mode as a last resort. Especially if Hawk Moth were to summon a dark Miraculous magic dragon of his own. But I find that highly unlikely."

Dragon Butterfly surrounds his armored body with magic energy as he calls out, "Dragon Butterfly, Elegant Wings Die!"

Dragon Butterfly detransforms from his dragon mode to his Steel Butterfly form.

Everyone cheers, even Master Fu from his massage parlor, much to Wayzz's confusion.

In Hawk Moth's lair, Hawk Moth snarls, "You've ruined everything, Dragon Butterfly! This is not how it was supposed to end! But I promise you and all of the world, one day, it will be me at the top of the food chain! And you'll be nothing!"

The window closes again, leaving Hawk Moth to stew in his anger as his lair is surrounded by darkness once more.

Meanwhile, at the Dupain-Cheng bakery, Alya and Nino experience their first kiss, much to Steel Butterfly's satisfaction at the fact that some things were still playing out in chronological order somewhat.

At patrol that night, Bunnyx was taught how to handle herself in a one-on-one fight while taking into consideration any of Hawk Moth's Akumatized villains or other allies of the moth-themed terrorist trying to sneak up behind her to catch her unaware long enough for the Rabbit Miraculous to be taken.

After a time limit of fighting a hologram of Hawk Moth while handling over fifteen Akumatized villains passed, Bunnyx discovers that she managed to complete this training exercise in just two minutes and three seconds on her first try, as the time limit was ten minutes.

Steel Butterfly remarks, "Well done, Bunnyx. You did splendidly well with everything I've taught you."

Bunnyx bows her head as she asks, "SB, what was that back there with you as a dragon fighting Animan as a Tyrannosaurus Rex?"

Steel Butterfly sighs as he replies, "Hhhhaaaa... Ladybug and Cat Noir fled like cowards when Animan sicced his army of zoo animals on them just because they were scared at the animals that could easily maul or devour them in no time, mostly because of how Ladybug and Cat Noir forgot that their Miraculous armors and Miraculous magic in general makes them nigh-invulnerable to physical harm. I hated the fact that I had to do everything myself just because Ladybug and Cat Noir were so scared that they might've peed themselves. But thankfully, I was able to alter that by giving them a much-needed confidence boost. So, while Animan's army was restrained, I had no choice but to use my new dragon mode to neutralize Animan long enough for Ladybug to grab Otis' bracelet and purify his Akuma. Surprisingly, the remnants of Animan's army didn't dare to challenge me because, as Leppey surmised, every animal in the world's animal kingdom are not just scared of great white sharks, they're also scared of dinosaurs and dragons."

Bunnyx then states, "I have to admit, when Juleka saw your mightiest dragon mode, she was squealing with amazement. She said, and I quote, '"That is the coolest giant armored dragon I've ever seen!"' Seriously, doesn't she know how dangerous dragons are?"

Steel Butterfly retorted, "Not unless she was in the presence of a tyrannical dark magic dragon that would devour any human being that gets in its path."

As much as Bunnyx wouldn't admit it, she knew Steel Butterfly was right; Juleka never knew how dangerous certain Akumatized villains, predatory animals or even demons are until she saw firsthand what they're capable of.

Over the course of the patrol that night, Bunnyx proved herself worthy of the Rabbit Miraculous by using her Burrow to inform the Heroes of Paris that there was gonna be a burglary in one neighborhood and a gasoline fire in another.

So, Steel Butterfly's crew divided their resources by having Ladybug, Cat Noir, Lion Hunter and RoboCop taking care of the burglary while the others would handle the gasoline fire.

Surprisingly, Ladybug's group was able to handle the burglary all too well, if only because RoboCop was all-prepared for the burglars' weapons and getaway route.

The gasoline fire, on the other hand, required Dragon Butterfly to suck up the fire from the burning building while being careful not to suck up anything else.

Thankfully, the gasoline fire was nothing more than a faulty gas line.

As the heroes went to sleep that night, Steel Butterfly remained still in his bed, thinking about how to best use his dragon mode as a last resort in the near-future.

(Author's notes: There you have it, folks: the ultimate battle between a dinosaur and a dragon to see who is mightier, and who manages to win? THE DRAGON, OF COURSE.

In the next chapter, Darkblade will have to contend with Whiteblade, an angelic counterpart and opposite of Darkblade with the same powers and abilities, completely clad in white and blue armor and capable of making his armored knights multiply, sprout angel wings and summon different melee weapons from medieval times to even the odds, unlike the generic battle axe that Darkblade's knights always carry.

Lastly, I came up with the appearance of Dragon Butterfly's dragon mode because I like the appearances of the fully armored Saphira from Eragon, the Transformers Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Dragon Megatron's dragon mode, the Demon Shredder's dragon mode, Chikara Shisho's dragon mode, Hisomi Shisho's dragon mode, the TMNT 2003 Leonardo's dragon mode, and the Transformers Prime Predaking's dragon mode.
