This is random, but is anyone else a bit peeved at how stores are setting up Christmas decorations when Thanksgiving hasn't even passed? Or is that just me?
Bardock: ...that is actually a really random question that has a good point, though I honestly don't get why it's important.
Uh, hello? *pulls out a calendar* Thanksgiving is in November while Christmas is the month after. In fact, do you ever see a snowman in November? Like, an actual one?
Bardock: Yeah, it's called go to the colder countries.
I live in the US.
Bardock: And?
...I'm tired of trying to explain it to you. Go ask Izuku.
Chapter 20
Planning Round Two
He placed first.
Holy crap, he placed first!
Izuku couldn't believe he placed first in the first event, but he knew it was highly possible. He was stronger than everyone else, that much was for sure. But to win the first event? Izuku was surprised that Katsuki didn't beat him to it, though he did place second, with Todoroki in third.
"Alright, to you 40 or so students, welcome to the next event!" Bardock said. "If you've bothered to pay attention to the previous years of the Sports Festival, then you should all know we're about to do a Team Battle event. And mind you…" Bardock then put his hand on the wheel again. "There will be repercussions for how you place in the obstacle course." And then Bardock spun the wheel.
...why was he scared now?
"I wonder what this means," Iida commented from where he stood next to Izuku.
"I'm… honestly kind of scared," Izuku admitted.
"How so?" Iida asked.
"Well for starters, there are the repercussions, and since we don't know how they will employ them, we're stuck in the field of unknowing. The people who'd most likely have it worst would either be me or Aoyama who's in forty-second place. Then, there is the matter of what the repercussions are. For all we know, I could get a handicap because I placed first," Izuku said. "The odds are not in my favor if that's that case."
"Well, there is still the matter of the event," Iida pointed out. "It could very well still play out to your liking. You do have a lot of talent, Midoriya."
Izuku nodded and smiled. "Thanks for the vote of confidence Iida."
The wheel began to slow down, and it landed on an event called 'Cavalry Battle', and Bardock nodded. "We have our event! Cavalry Battle!" He shouted to the crowd, with some beginning to cheer to make some noise. "Wow, this crowd is surprisingly loud and excited. I guess being compared to this 'Olympics' event isn't an understatement." He cleared his throat, before saying, "Alright Mic, explain!"
"I got'cha!" Mic said. "The second round is the Cavalry Battle! Participants will form teams of up to four members with the bare minimum of two players per team! Each team will also be awarded points based off of their member's placing in the previous round, which we'll talk about in a moment. The teams with the most points will advance to the next round, also keeping in mind that only sixteen participants will move on!
"Now, as for points, everyone has a different point value, and all team members' points will be put together and given the form of a headband which will be made after teams have been decided. As for how points are judged, it's based on your rankings in the last round. Ranking in forty-two has a point value of five, with the next in forty-one having a ten point value, and so on, until we get to first place! But this is where things get interesting!" Mic pulled out a calculator to make sure his math wasn't wrong. "First place has a total worth of two hundred and ten normally, if we went by how we're ranking everyone normally, but however, this is where we shake things up!
"First place is worth ten million points!"
Izuku's heart dropped. 'I knew it!' He thought as he felt everyone begin to look at him, and everyone had the intention of trying to take his headband once he assembled a team, and even then, the stares weren't as intense as the one he felt staring at his back. And Izuku just knew that that intimidating stare belonged to Katsuki himself. He would be after the headband and would have the highest chance at succeeding.
"Keep this in mind, as first place's points is an instant win for whoever grabs it and holds onto it until the fifteen minute round is up and over," Midnight said as she laughed. "Good luck to everyone!"
'I can win this match, I have a way to do it,' Izuku thought as he began to analyze the opposition. 'Everyone from my class and 1B are here, as well as three people from the other courses, and they must be the other students that Bardock-Sensei was talking about at class. They must be the only other Ki users. They, Kacchan, as well as Ojiro and Kendo will be the most problematic for me yet, and I'm not sure if I'd be able to take all of them, assuming everyone else can fly. I know that Ojiro can't yet, but still, he's mastered making and firing blasts at the very least, which could be a problem in my fight against Kacchan if we do end up fighting. And the support item user does have that jet pack, which could also mean she could fly and fight in the air too, but for how long depends on that jet pack. But the other matter is holding onto the headband. That's all that matters. And wait, would I even be allowed to fly? And what about my teammates?' Izuku smacked his own cheeks and said to himself, "Act now, plot later! There is a better time for all of this!"
"You seem stressed," an unfamiliar voice said, before Izuku turned to see one of the students from the other courses. "I'm Hitoshi Shinso. And I want to join your team." Izuku's eyes widened, and he almost responded when Shinso continued. "Before you ask anything, just know that I won't use my Quirk on you, as otherwise it might have an effect on our fight during the Cavalry Battle, and I can't have that risk of ordering you around and us failing as a result."
"Wait, what?" Izuku immediately grasped what Shinso was saying. "Hold on, is your Quirk a brainwashing one?"
"It's Brainwashing, yes," Shinso answered. "I've seen what you can do, mister prodigy." That stung Izuku oddly enough, with Shinso saying, "The rumors go around saying that you're related to Bardock, but I've heard you call him Sensei, and he calls you his star pupil, and possibly the strongest first year."
"W-wow," Izuku said, surprised at this. "I-I didn't know Bardock-Sensei thought of me so highly."
"Well he does, and that's off topic," Shinso replied. "I want to transfer over to the Hero Course because there is that opening, and I also want to prove to the world that someone like me, someone with a Quirk that's villainous, can be a hero. But, to get to that opening, I need to get past this event." Shinso stared at Izuku intently. "I want your help. Now tell me, do I have it? Or do I not?"
"Well, I do need teammates, so yes, you can count on me!" Izuku said to Shinso while pumping out one of his fists.
Shinso smiled and nodded, similar to that of Aizawa. "Good. Now, let's continue the hunt."
"Deku!" Ochaco called out, before Izuku looked to see the gravity girl of 1A walking up to him. "Do you mind if I join your team?"
"U-Uraraka," Izuku said. "I don't mind! Actually, I think you could help us!"
"Really?" She asked, before noticing Shinso. "Oh, I don't think I've met you before."
"I'm Hitoshi Shinso from Class 1C," Shinso told her.
"I'm Ochaco Uraraka from Class 1A," Ochaco replied.
"So, can she help?" Shinso asked Izuku.
"Yeah, her Quirk let's her nullify gravity on an object or person, but she can get sick from the burden. It affects her more if she surpasses her weight limit or if she uses it on herself," Izuku told Shinso.
"Hmm, interesting," Shinso said, before looking at Uraraka. "Can you use Ki?"
"N-No," Uraraka admitted. "I tried, but it just didn't really wanna work."
"I can tell," Izuku began as he sensed the energy of the Gen Ed student, "that you can use it, can't you?"
"Even suppressing it, you could tell," Shinso said, confirming Izuku's educated guess. "Yeah, I can use Ki. However, it took me a while, and I just learned it a week ago so I'm not as strong as you or that explosive guy. All I can do is fire some weak blasts and somewhat fly, but hovering is easier."
"Like gliding?" Izuku asked.
"Kinda, yeah," Shinso said.
"Then we can form a decent team and a brilliant plan," Izuku said. "We just need one more mem-"
"Hi there!" A female voice said before Hatsume was right there in front of Izuku. "I want to join your team Number One!"
"Huh?" Izuku questioned as Hatsume just suddenly appeared in front of him.
"I'm Mei Hatsume of the Support Course, and I see you and your team as a ticket to try and promote my babies, as well as get me into the final round!" Hatsume said honestly, and before anyone could question what the hell she was talking about, she pulled out a jetpack from somewhere. "I heard you all talking about flying, and since that might be an issue, I present to you my eleventh baby, the jetpack!" She held it out for them to see. "If we have problems flying, then this should be able to assist in those endeavors!"
"Wait, is this modeled after the jetpack of a Pro Hero?" Izuku asked, noticing that the design felt familiar.
"Wow, you caught on quick!" Hatsume noted, before she nodded. "Yep! I want to make all sorts of babies that could help young heroes like you two, but to do that, I need sponsors who can help me! That, and they have a tendency to explode, but that's something I'll figure out later!"
'They tend to explode?!' The group thought, scared at how bluntly and openly she admitted that.
"Is this a joke?" Shinso questioned.
"Nope, but I'll fix it soon enough!" Hatsume replied, her smile not wavering once. She turned to look at Izuku. "I still have more babies, so we can plan accordingly and make use of all of them if needed! I do want to get known by the support companies out there."
"Okay, if you think you can help us, then it'd be appreciated if you told us what you can do," Izuku said.
"Great! Glad to be on board!" Hatsume said. "Now, for starters-"
"One minute to form your teams!" Bardock shouted randomly, which made the formed group turn to look at him.
"Oh right, that reminds me!" Hatsume looked at the three of them interestedly, while putting her index fingers and thumbs together to form a rectangle like she was trying to capture the essence of something before acting. "Which ones of you can use Ki? I have an idea that could play out if you guys can."
"I'm the only one here who can't," Uraraka said dejectedly, feeling as though Ki was beginning to matter a lot, before Hatsume looked at her and smiled.
"That's great! It'd be pointless to show off one of my babies if everyone here had Ki!" The Support Course student smiled and pulled out what looked like a ray gun. "Okay, so this baby of mine should help you with the whole 'I don't have Ki' thing, as I managed to form a power source that makes plasma shots, so it's arguably similar to firing a weaker ball of Ki, as this baby only stings and stuns. It lacks any punch, but it should be able to assist you in the coming Cavalry Battle."
Ochaco was surprised as she didn't expect this. "O-Oh, wow."
"Wait, you made a device that can mimic Ki?!" Izuku questioned.
"That's intriguing," Shinso commented.
"I know, right? It's extremely difficult but it pays off, even if it's more time consuming than my other babies!" Hatsume laughed proudly. "I dare say that these Ki powered babies of mine are the greatest achievement I have yet!"
'It's probably also no wonder why her gadgets explode,' Shinso thought dryly.
"Okay, we have our team, now we just need to work on our defense, and plan of action," Izuku stated. There was then an announcement for a lunch break, in which case, Izuku said, "We should discuss this over lunch."
"Fine by me," Shinso replied. But he then pointed at Izuku intently. "However, once we're done with this event, if we meet in the final round, I have no intentions of holding back against you. We're allies now, but we're enemies the moment this event ends, got it?"
'He… he's serious about this,' Izuku acknowledged, before nodding in response to the boy's words. "Alright, fine by me."
"Good," Shinso said. "Now, about our plan of attack…"
Well, we made it to a whopping 20 chapters. I dare say, this is an accomplishment.
I also went back and read the older chapters… I fucking cringed and I'm sorry to any if not everyone who had to read that, though to be fair, you all did have to in order to understand the poor story that's here. I plan to make up for that moving forward.
Bardock: Yeah, not gonna lie, they were cringe.
Izuku: Don't get me started…
Let's go over the reviews!
Luxzen chapter 11 . Oct 11
NOOOOOO 16 PLEASE BE REMADE or i dunna dragon balls?
While this is a DBZ and My Hero crossover, I don't want the Dragon Balls involved at all, even if they could be used for a lot of good. I'm kinda already pushing my luck with the Time Patrollers, Towa and Mira, Inosuke (who will have a legitimate purpose once we get to it later on down the line, but for now, he's here solely because why the hell not), and everything else that's happening in this world.
As for the fate of 16… uh… you may not like what's to come.
16: ...what?
Bardock: *looks at Towa and Mira* What have you done?
Mira: It hasn't happened yet, so how should we know?
Luxzen chapter 2 . Oct 10
hold up now if hes learning ki then maybe fusion? always loved fusion shows need more fusions in'em
While fusion is cool, I'm gonna refrain from it for now, but I might bring it up at the very least, or have a fusion happen somehow. I don't know, I kinda made my other story Katsuku for the sole purpose of a story with Fusion, though it's a permanent one.
Izuku: Who would even do fusion in this story?
Katsuki: Us you damn nerd!
Darkscale42 chapter 19 . Oct 10
I can picture what Towa's face is looking like right now from what Bakugo just said earlier.
I actually stemmed the supposed reaction based off of what's said to Towa during the gameplay of a Dragon Ball game called Dragon Ball Fusions, in which Towa is called a cougar more than once. It's a bit hilarious honestly.
Towa: I hate that you even brought it up.
Fu: Sounds interesting! I should take a look at it later!
StrongGuy159 chapter 19 . Oct 9
Cool chapter continue please.
Until we end this story, we will, don't worry.
Izuku: After a couple years, maybe.
True… oh so true…
Also the random poll ends this chapter! Review while you can! Though to be honest, I kinda see how this is gonna go even without reminding everyone. But still, I bring it up.
Have a great November!
