Helena, Remus and Alex entered their hotel room, it was cute, cozy and had three beds, perfect for the three of them.
"We are in Transylvania, we are in Transylvania," Alex shouted excitedly. "I will no longer be the only kid in my classroom who has not been to Transylvania, especially at the festival!"
Helena covers his mouth quickly.
"Don't make noise Alex, it's night and possibly people are sleeping." Helena whispered.
"Helena, it's seven at night, who's sleeping this time?" Remus asked as he put down his suitcase.
"Aaamm you." Helena raises an eyebrow.
"You force me to sleep many times at this time."
"Because you must rest."
"Helena, I am not a child, I am a wise man with grandchildren." Remus said proudly.
"But I am older than you and I have more experience." Helena said proudly. "Although my appearance says otherwise."
"If we continue like this, we will sing that Irving Berlin song again." Remus said amused.
Helena laughs when she remembers the times she and Remus sang Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better) when they argued among themselves who was the best, in the end they always ended up laughing.
"Don't remind me, I laugh just remembering it." Helena said laughing. "You're right, we'll end up singing it if we continue like this" she said going to her bed. "By the way, I'm wiser than you" laughing.
Remus laughs while shaking his head.
"Don't fight anymore, think about everything we'll see tomorrow." Alex said excitedly. "I already want to know this place, the history and the ruins of that castle."
"Don't tell me that one of those ruins is from Lubov Castle?" Helena asked as she opened her suitcase.
"Yes, even from places where monsters might be hiding." Alex pulls out a map. "They say there is a forest of terror, that no one dares to go -."
"This festival will be very long." Helena murmured as she entered the bathroom.
"This will be fun." Remus said with a smile.
The next day, the three of them went out and began exploring Transylvania, entering museums, shops, seeing how the stalls were decorated for the festival and among other things.
WELCOME TO
MONSTER FESTIVAL
Helena, Remus, and Alex watched as they posted the sign at one of the entrances to the town.
"I think I feel welcome." Helena said amused.
Remus laughs.
The day after their walk, they toured more places and, as Alex was promised, entered Lubov Castle.
The castle ruins were burned, but the structure was so strong that it was not destroyed, furniture still remains, some intact paintings, most of them almost or totally burned.
"I've heard stories about this castle, but I never thought I'd be here one day." Helena whispered in surprise.
"Excuse me." the voice of a young man was heard.
Helena sees a boy with hairy ginger hair, brown eyes, a yellow and green shirt over an orange long-sleeved shirt, brown shorts, and blue and green sneakers. He was carrying a huge backpack dangling.
He takes a picture with his cell phone with a flash making her blink.
"Sorry, I wanted to take a picture of that painting, oh what's left of it." the boy said as he approached.
"Just asking me to move is enough." Helena said blinked at the flash.
"Yes, I think I should have asked for that." he said calmly. "First time here?"
"How do you know?" she asked surprised.
"You look surprised by the place, although I don't blame you, it's incredible, it's the second time I've come and it's my favorite ruin." he said with a big smile.
"You are American." Helena said noticing his accent.
"Yes, I am Jonathan by the way."
"Helena."
"Nice to meet you Helena, and are you coming alone?"
"I come with my bro- my great-uncle." she quickly clarified with a nervous smile. "And my cousin." she looking for them with her eyes. "I don't know where they are?"
"Helena!" Alex yelled running closer.
"Oh, there is my cousin."
"Come quickly!" Alex grabs her hand. "We found the painting of Lady Lubov." pulling it.
"Wait, don't pull me." Helena follows him. "Bye Jonathan, it was a pleasure."
"See ya." Jonathan said to later look at the place with a big smile
Alex takes her to a large room where Remus was looking at the remains of a painting where he looks at a beautiful young woman with night black hair, blue eyes, pale skin, black lipstick, she wears a beautiful long black dress and a beautiful black necklace.
"Look, she's there!" Alex said excitedly. "This is Lady Lubov."
Helena approaches surprised, she was undoubtedly a beautiful woman and seemed to be holding someone's hand, unfortunately half of the painting was burned and that is the only painting there is about Lady Lubov.
"I heard that she is beautiful, but I had never imagined it so much." Remus said. "Of course she does not beat the beauty of my wife, God rest her soul".
"You only say it for fear that she will appear in your dreams claiming you." Helena said amused.
Remus felt chills just thinking of that, making Helena and Alex laugh.
After visiting the castle they went to a tavern while they arranged to talk to Mr. Morgan about the position for the contest at the festival.
"Everything is ready." Mr. Morgan said with a big smile as he showed them the sketch of the event venue. "You will be here." pointing it out. "There you will present your delicacies, together with a local contestant."
"Sounds like a good place to me." Helena said.
"Yes, the contest will be in three days, so you will have time to organize yourself, see the decoration of your stand and among other things you need."
"Where do we prepare the breads?" Remues asked.
"The restaurants will lend us their ovens, I recommend that you get up early to prepare all the possible delicacies."
"Understood." Helena said. "We have the decorations ready as it is not the first time we have entered a contest."
"Those were schoolchildren." Remus said.
"But they were contests." Helena said. "More or less we have an idea that we should prepare, we are very grateful that they lend us the ovens in the restaurants, we will try to arrive early so that we can prepare many of our famous breads for these events."
"I'm glad you're here, I'm sure you will win the contest." Mr. Morgan said with a big smile.
"We hope that too, especially first place." Remus said and looks at the sketch. "Look Helena, there is the position of the singing contest, you could also participate".
Helena turns pale when she hears that.
"Do you sing Miss Helena?" Mr. Morgan asked.
"Yes." Remus replied.
"¡No!, of course not" Helena answered scared. "I don't sing, I don't know how to sing at all."
Remus rolls his eyes, amused.
Helena looks at him badly, wanting to hang him.
"I'll go get something to drink, I'll be back right now." Helena gets up and walks away from her, she wanted to avoid asking if she sang.
How many times does she have to tell Remus that she does not want to enter the singing contests, she has done magic tricks with her powers in front of many people, but singing is something else.
"Hey girl." a gypsy woman approaches her. "Do you want me to read your luck?"
"Aaammm, I don't believe in those things." she walking away a little.
"Come on girl, I'm not a fake, let me read it, if you keep thinking I'm lying to you, don't pay me."
Helena stares at her, lost nothing trying and shakes her hand, just hoping nothing had been seen on her vampiric side.
The gypsy begins to read his hand.
"You've lived through a lot of things, you lost your mother when you were very young, then you lost your father and stepmother," the gypsy said, reading her hand.
"Yes." Helena said surprised.
"Poor thing, I'm so sorry," he said without seeing her. "You've lived through a lot of things to survive and... but what do we have here," she smiles and looks at her. "Your Zing will come into your life very soon."
"¿My Zing?"
"Yes, a man who, like you, has suffered but who loves his family, who does everything he can to protect his loved ones, like you." The gypsy said Helena was even more surprised. "I see happiness and a long, long life for both of you." he smiles.
"And -" wanting to know more.
"And that's it, happy service to my girl, I hope I've convinced you."
Helena stares at her hand and then at the gypsy, then looks in her pocket at some money and gives her some coins.
"Thank you my girl, be happy with your Zing." walks away from her.
Helena looks at her palm and thinks about what the gypsy said, but then rolls her eyes and decides to forget it. She very much doubts that her Zing will appear soon and that they will live a long life.
