A Friendly Nudge
Charlie paused in his work and leaned back against the leg of his favorite dragon while he watched in admiration as his colleague scrubbed down her own draconic friend.
Ariyana Goldstein was an American witch with a spirit that was as fiery as her dragon. She was also a cousin of Luna's husband, Rolf – and she must have inherited the family love of creatures – because she was just as keen on dragon keeping as Charlie was.
Consequently, Charlie was completely arse over teakettle in love with her. He just didn't know how to tell her…or even if she felt the same way…and so his feelings had gone unspoken for months.
Nevertheless, Charlie's bonded Hungarian Horntail, Neci,* could smell the telltale pheromones whenever his partner was near his desired mate, and also knew…for the same reason…that his interest was definitely reciprocated. Ariyana's Ukranian Ironbelly partner, Alina,** easily realized the attraction, as well. The dragons, who wanted their partners to be happy, therefore decided to meddle and further the match themselves – especially since their humans were obviously clueless about the proper way to initiate mating rituals.
Since the people were so ready and willing, however, it turned out to be a simple endeavour. At the right moment, when the humans were in close proximity, and the male was busy mooning over the female, the dragons simply used their long tails to trip them both. All it took then was a gentle nudge with a draconic forehead on either side to cause them to stumble into each other's arms.
Two sets of human eyes locked onto each other, and apparently no words were even needed between them because…just a moment later…their lips met, as well.
The dragons, meanwhile, just stood back and admired their handiwork with pleasure.
