A Wooing Marauder
Sirius peered over his friend's shoulder and read aloud the note that James had just written. He made an over-exaggerated gagging noise when it turned out to be yet another terrible love poem.
My Lily of the Valley,
You are so fair,
You make my heart beat faster,
With just a flick of fiery hair.
"That's the worst one yet!" he proclaimed and glanced over at Remus, who shook with laughter.
James was unconcerned. "None of you savages have a poetic soul…nor do you suffer for your craft in the pursuit of true love." He sighed dramatically before he folded the note and placed it into the jaws of the rat who waited on his desk.
"Here, Pete. Put it on her pillow this time. It took her ages to find the last one. Don't slobber on it, either!"
The animagus nodded before he jumped to the floor and ran through the door. A moment later, loud shrieks let the other boys know that he had made it to the girls' dormitory.
"Excellent!" James exclaimed at the sound and clapped his hands excitedly when Pete ran back in and transformed. "Now, who wants to play some Quidditch before dinner?"
