Mating Ritual
It was a complicated dance with many steps that pulsed in a slow, but fiery, rhythm that could not be heard by most...only felt by those lucky enough to participate in its execution.
Necks stretched out, straight and strong,
Tail plumages prominently displayed,
Wings spread wide and slowly pumped to match the beating heart,
Sparks flying…quite literally…between the partners,
Their magic intertwined.
It was an excruciatingly slow dance at times, but it was also a tango of seduction...and Fawkes was experienced enough to know that some things - especially a phoenix mating ritual - should never be rushed.
