Muggle Luxuries
Remus heaved a huge sigh of relief as he sank gratefully into the bath that Dora had thoughtfully prepared for him. The soothing heat of the water helped to ease his abused muscles after the trauma of his full moon shift the night before and then again just a short time earlier that morning.
As he soaked the worst of his soreness away, Remus marveled about why most Wizarding folk preferred standard cleansing charms over such a luxurious experience. He knew that water bathing had been sneered at by the majority of Purebloods throughout history since it was considered to be an unsanitary muggle-inspired activity. That may have even been true once - especially during the times when water was so hard to collect and heat that entire families had to take turns with the same tub. However, with the advances of modern muggle plumbing, such hygenic worries were mostly obsolete.
They just don't know what they are missing, Remus mused, grateful to his muggle mother for teaching him. Then, when he felt sufficiently healed, he found that he was also extremely thankful that his wife had been raised by a muggleborn when she decided to join him there, as well.
