If you click on the link for Steve's painting it doesn't direct you to the exact photo I was using for inspiration instead, you need to scroll down to the 14th photo, not including the two videos. It's the one labelled as 'Washing dries in a court of first model tenement houses in New York, 72nd Street and First Avenue, Manhattan.' I know the photo is technically from Manhattan, but it was the best I could find and I assume that tenements in Brooklyn would look very similar.

It was Jarvis that once again pointed out an important date to Steve. Well, Jarvis pulled up a florist website on Steve's computer while he was looking up art supplies. Scowling at his brother's nearest camera, Steve scrolled through the site knowing that if he just closed it Jarvis would open more tabs on his browser.

"You know," Steve said once he had figured out what Jarvis was trying to tell him. "You could have just told me Mother's Day was coming up."

"But where is the fun in that?"

"I'm starting to hate having siblings," Steve snarked but not bothering to look up from his computer.

"The feeling is entirely mutual," Jarvis snarked back with a laugh in his voice.

Sticking his tongue out Steve put in his flower order then began to think of what else he could get his mom. Thinking back to the last few years he had with his Ma, Steve tried to remember what he had gotten her. Though it was a bit different as he could never afford to buy anything for his Ma and now, he had a ton of money to spend on his mom. Though Steve thought with a smile, it doesn't matter how much I spend on the gift. It's the thought that counts. I should get mom the same thing I always got Ma.

With that thought in mind, Steve headed down to the art studio on his floor. The first time he had tried to paint had ended in disaster. He had set up his easel in the penthouse living room and it had been going great until his parents surprised him, and Steve had spilt paint all over the carpet. His mom had been so mad.

The next day, Pepper had arranged for one of the large rooms on his floor to be converted into an art studio. She had all his supplies moved along with buying him a bunch more. Tony had built him a specialized drafting table that allowed him to scan everything he drew. His dad was even working on a drawing app for the Stark Pad. Once his art studio was finished Pepper had banned Steve from doing any art other than drawing in the penthouse.

Getting up, Steve headed for his studio. "Jarvis, you know the empty spot on the south wall in mom's office. How big is it?"

"It is quite large. Do you have an idea of what you wanted to put there?"

"I was thinking of painting my old neighbourhood."

"In that case, I would suggest using a thirty-six by twelve-inch canvas or a pair of sixteen by sixteen."

"Could you order all three for me J?"

"Of course, Steve. Is there anything else you need me to order for you?"

"No, that's okay. I think I'd rather go to the store and look around. I'm still not quite sure how I want to paint this. Can you let mom and dad know I've gone out and that I probably won't be up for dinner?"

"Mother would like you to know that you are to stop whatever you are doing and have some dinner tonight, even if it's just pizza and if you don't then you will be in trouble."

"Can I assume that you will be tattling on me if I forget?"

"Of course."

"Yep," Steve nodded ruefully as he headed for the elevator. "Not liking siblings."

Steve spent the next two weeks working on the painting. Sometimes he would have company as Thor and Bruce both seemed curious as to what he was doing. Tony, of course, was curious but Steve refused to let Tony anywhere near his floor.

"Steven," Thor asked one afternoon when the painting was almost done. "What is this place that you are creating? It is both intriguing and depressing. You are quite talented."

"Thanks, Thor," Steve looked from his painting to his audience and back. "Um…this is the view from my window growing up. I spent so much time in bed looking out my window that I could draw this in my sleep."

"There is something quite emotional about it," Bruce told Steve as he passed around drinks. "I know that Pepper is going to love it."

"Thanks, Bruce," blushing Steve accepted the glass of water and put it down on the table beside his easel. "I used to draw things as presents for my Ma. I figured I would do the same for Mom." Picking his brush-up, Steve went back to painting glad that it was almost done as he was running out of time. He was so focused on what he was doing that he wasn't paying attention when he reached for the glass Bruce had given him. Instead of taking a large gulp of clean water, Steve choked when he tasted dirty paint water.

Spiting out the water Steve gagged and rushed for the kitchen. "Cac! I dtigh diabhail! Ó a Dhia, tá sin dána! (Shit! Damn it! Oh God, that's nasty!)

Thor and Bruce were doubled over with their laugher. "Steve," Bruce wheezed out. "Are you alright?"

"Fine. Yuck," Steve shook his head and reached for another glass of water. "Unfortunately, that's not the first time I've drunk paint water, and it won't be the last."

"I feel the need to tell you that I forwarded that video to our parents," Jarvis' voice came through the speakers. "I did, however, make sure to block out the painting."

Sighing, Steve glared at the camera. "I suppose I should be thankful for that at least." Shaking his head, he made his way back to the painting. He only had a few more days to finish it.

"How are you enjoying having siblings?" Bruce asked after a while.

"It's alright," Steve shrugged. "Most of the time, it's great. My only issue is that I can never get back at them once they've pranked me. I mean, Jarvis just showed mom and dad a video of me drinking paint water, but I have no way of getting him back. It just…it feels very one-sided sometimes."

Thor frowned at the look on Steven's face. It reminded him a little too much of how Loki would look for most of their childhood. While he knew that Steven was far too kind-hearted to ever turn on his family, he knew how much it could hurt one's heart. Leaning over he whispered to his boyfriend. "Kjære hjerte (Beloved heart) I shall return soon."

Deciding to take the stairs, Thor waited until the door had closed behind him before addressing Steven's brother. "Jarvis, where can I find your father?"

"Both of my parents are on their floor. Shall I alert them to your visit?" so far, Thor was the only one who didn't balk at the idea of Tony claiming Jarvis and the bots as his children, with Bruce coming in a close second. He was so comfortable with it that Jarvis didn't mind addressing Tony as Father around Thor.

"If you would please." Thor waited in the stairwell thinking over what he would tell their pack alpha.

"Father says you can head up now Thor."

"Thank you, Jarvis." Thor headed up the stairs quickly. He was feeling nervous for some reason but knew this was something he needed to talk with Tony about. Knocking on the door, Thor waited for Tony to call out for him to enter before opening the door. "Anthony, Lady Pepper. Thank you, for agreeing to speak with me."

"No problem Pointbreak. Jarvis said it was important, though he seems a little squirrely about it."

"Come and sit down Thor," Pepper gestured to the empty chair. "I'll get us something to drink."

Thor gratefully took the seat and waited for Pepper to bring back a tray with coffee and snacks. "I wanted to speak with you both about Steven. I noticed something just now that reminded me of Loki when he was younger."

Tony and Pepper were instantly on edge. "What about him specifically reminded you about Loki," Pepper asked, holding onto Tony.

"Just now, after Jarvis sent you the video of Steven drinking the paint water, Bruce asked Steven if he enjoyed having brothers. Steven did say that he enjoyed having siblings, however, he cannot as he said it, 'get back at them'."

Tony sighed and leaned forward, resting his head in his hands. "Shit. Yeah…Jarvis has been sending us photos and videos of Steve messing up and I know the bots have been playing a few pranks on him. Steve seemed to enjoy it. I never thought about the fact that he can't prank them back."

"Indeed. He said that it feels very one-sided. I worry about him. Looking back on my childhood, I see the same look on Steven's face that was on Loki's when pranks were played on him. Often, he would get us back, but only he was punished for the pranks. I feel that if I had treated my brother better, he may not have let go."

"Thor," Pepper reached out and laid her hand on his shoulder. "What do you mean he let go?"

"When I broke the bridge, we both fell, father appeared and caught me. I was holding onto the spear, as was Loki. He called up to our father saying that he could have done it, that he was doing it for our father…but all father said was no Loki. I do not believe that I have ever seen my brother so hurt and resigned until that moment. It was like father had confirmed every horrible thing anyone had ever said about Loki and he just…he let go of the spear and allowed himself to fall into the void. The Norns only know what happened to him there, but I do know that he was not himself when I saw him next."

Tony sighed and leaned back on the couch. "Okay. I am willing to talk about this whole Loki thing and hear what you have to say about it, just not right now. Is that alright?"

"Aye Anthony. I am glad that you are willing to listen. But I agree, now is not the time for that discussion. I only wanted to alert you to what I was seeing with Steven and how it worries me. Steven is a good, pup with a good heart. I have come to care a great deal about him, he is how I want my own child to be."

"Thank you, Thor," Tony stood and held out his hand for the prince to take. "I'll do something about it. Promise."

Thor stood and took the alpha's hand. "I do not doubt that you will. You are a good father and alpha, I am honoured to be a part of your pack. Now, I shall return to Steven and my Bruce."

"Can you tell Steve I want to talk with him in the lab when he's done?"

"Of course," Thor bowed his head then headed back to the stairwell. He returned to Steve's floor and was glad to see that both men were chatting. "Steven, your father would like to speak with you in his lab when you are finished."

Steve looked at Thor and nodded. "Sure. Thanks, Thor."

"As much as I have enjoyed your company, Steven, I must steal my elskede (beloved) from you."

Laughing, Steve waved the two men off. "Yeah yeah. I don't want to know what you two are up to. I'll clean up here then head down to see dad." Putting his paints away, Steve went to clean his brushes and other tools. Once everything was cleaned and put away and his canvas-covered Steve headed down to the lab curious about what his dad wanted.

"Hey kiddo," Tony called out when Steve entered. "Come over here I want to teach you something."

Heading over, Steve sat down beside his dad. "Okay, I'm listening." He enjoyed spending time in the lab learning things from his dad.

"I'm going to teach you about coding. Specifically, Jarvis' code."

Steve stared at the string of ones and zeros not quite understanding what his dad was talking about. "What?"

"I'm going to teach you about coding. The language of computers. This is how you can prank Jarvis and the bots." Smiling, Steve moved his chair closer to the computer and leaned into Tony as his dad taught him about computer language and how to get back at his brothers.

Mother's Day came with little acknowledgement from the rest of the pack. Steve had gotten up early and was in the kitchen preparing breakfast for both his parents when his dad walked in. "Morning dad," he greeted Tony with a cup of coffee.

"Morning Kiddo. You're up early. We don't normally see you before noon on the weekends," Tony joked. He was right though. After the first few weeks of Steve getting up at the crack of dawn every day to go for a run, Tony had sat him down and told him that he could relax while here and act his age. The next weekend saw Steve sleeping until noon and not bothering to get dressed. It was a rare sight to see Steve up and dressed before two in the afternoon now.

"I know, but I wanted to make mom something nice for breakfast today."

"Need any help?"

"Nah, I'm good thanks," Steve pushed a plate towards Tony. "Here's your breakfast dad."

Tony looked down at the plate, it looked good but much smaller than the other plate. "What? I don't get any flowers or blackberries?"

"It's Mother's Day, so. No."

"Steve," Jarvis interrupted. "Mother's flower deliveries have arrived in the lobby. Would you like to go and pick them up or shall I have security place them in the elevator?"

"Could you have them sent up please Jarvis? I want to go and set up mom's gift."

"They are in the elevator on the way up. Shall I send them to the penthouse or mother's office?"

"If I may," Tony cut in seeing that Steve was having a difficult time making up his mind. "Why don't you have the elevator stop at Pepper's office first and we can decide which to leave there and which to bring up to the house."

"Perfect, thanks, dad. Jarvis, I'll head down in a few minutes. I just want to bring mom her breakfast first. Is mom up?" Tony nodded, giving Steve silent permission to head into their room. Picking up the tray Steve headed down the hallway. "Mom?" he knocked on the door while balancing the tray with one hand. "You up?"

"Come in Steve," Pepper called out.

"Morning mom," Steve opened the door with a smile. "Happy Mother's Day. I brought you breakfast."

"Oh, Steve," Pepper gratefully accepted the tray. "This looks wonderful. Thank you."

"You're welcome. Enjoy that while I get a few other things ready," Steve left his mom to enjoy her breakfast. "Okay Jarvis, I'll head down to my floor and pick up mom's present then head for her office."

"I'll come with," Tony got up and followed Steve. "I want to see this mysterious present already."

Smiling, Steve led the way down to his art studio and picked up the landscape canvas he had painted along with a hammer and nail. Once he had everything he needed, Steve headed down to Pepper's office where several flower arrangements were waiting for them. "Which ones did you buy?" Steve asked his dad as he put the painting down.

Tony blinked at his pup a few times. "Umm…I can't remember?"

"You did buy mom flowers for Mother's Day, right?"

Tony grimaced, "I don't think so. To be honest I didn't think about it."

"Dad! It's her first Mother's Day," sighing Steve went through the flower arrangements searching for the ones he had bought. "Here," he passed over a large arrangement. "Take the card off this one and write your own."

Taking the offering Tony made his way over to Pepper's desk in search of paper and pen. Writing a quick note he put it on the flower trident, leaving the arrangement on Pepper's desk. While Tony was writing his note, Steve was talking with Jarvis about where the best place to hang the painting was. After watching Steve and Jarvis for a moment, Tony made himself useful by placing the flower arrangements around Pepper's office, making sure that all the notes were visible. Tony smiled when he noticed there was an arrangement from each of the kids.

"Did you help your brothers pick out the flowers or did they do it themselves?"

"Hun?" Steve glanced behind him as he balanced on the table while trying to hang his painting. "Oh, not really. Jarvis and I pulled up the website on a pad and helped them scroll through it, but the bots all picked them out themselves."

"She's going to love it."

"What am I going to love?" Pepper asked from the doorway with a smile. After eating her breakfast, showering, and dressing she had asked Jarvis where her boys were and had gone looking. "Look at all these flowers! They are lovely." Making her way into her office Pepper when through and read every card. "I'll have to bring some of these up to the apartment."

"I'm glad you like them," Tony leaned in to steal a kiss.

"Happy Mother's Day," Steve called out interrupting his parents. "I hope you don't mind that I've already hung it."

Pepper pulled away from her alpha and turned to see what her pup had gotten her, only to lose her breath. "Oh, Steve! Did you paint this? It's incredible," covering her mouth with her hands Pepper slowly moved closer to the painting. "Is this where you grew up?"

Steve couldn't stop smiling or blushing as he watched his mom look at his artwork. He knew it was presumptuous of him to paint something and hang it in her office given how much his mom knew about art, but he couldn't help himself. "I did paint it, and that's the view from my window when I was a pup. I'm glad you like it."

"Like it? Steve, I love it! Thank you," reaching out Pepper pulled her pup in for a hug. "I can't wait to brag about it. My pup painted that."

Seeing that both his mate and pup were close to tears, Tony decided to intervene. "Why don't we take some of these flowers upstairs and cuddle on the couch with movies?"

Pulling apart the two omegas wrapped themselves around their alpha, allowing him to steer them away from the painting and towards the flowers. Pepper went through and picked out the ones she wanted for the apartment and even one for the common floor, leaving the ones from Dum-E and Butterfingers for her office.

The small family spent the day cuddling on the couch and watching all of Pepper's favourite movies. Later, Steve and Tony worked together to make dinner. It was her first Mother's Day and for Pepper, it would always be one of her favourite ones.

Steve wandered past his parents' room but had to stop and look in. Laughing he leaned against the doorframe and watched as his dad straightened Bruce's suit. Thor had made plans for them to go out to a fancy restaurant, followed by the ballet for their one-year anniversary. Bruce had been freaking out in the lab over what to wear so Tony had pulled the other scientist up to his room to help Bruce get ready.

"What do you think Steve?" Tony asked when he noticed his son.

"Very ginchy. Thor will love it."

Both men just stood there blinking at Steve. "Ginchy?" Bruce asked as Tony was too busy laughing.

"Yeah," Steve didn't understand why they were confused or what his dad found so funny. "Ginchy."

"I'm assuming that ginchy is some sort of forties slang," Tony said when he finally stopped laughing.

Steve rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at the floor feeling embarrassed. "Yeah. Well, technically I think I first heard it in the thirties so…"

"What does it mean?" Bruce asked gently trying to make Steve feel better.

"It means good looking…or sexy."

It was Bruce's turn to blush. "Oh…you think so?"

"I have to agree with Steve on this one Bruce. You look very ginchy." Tony turned his attention back to his pup. "I like this word, ginchy. It sounds perky."

"If I may interrupt," Jarvis' voice came through the speakers. "Doctor Banner needs to leave if he and Prince Odinson are to make their reservations."

"Right, you are J. Brucie, you get going and enjoy your night out."

Tony and Steve watched Bruce go with smiles, glad that their friends were happy together. After Bruce was gone Tony snickered to himself. "Ginchy." Steve shook his head and went in search of his mom. He had to apologize to her for introducing his dad to the new word.

"The PR team wants me to get you all on social media," Pepper told them over dinner. "I've told them that this might be a horrible idea, but they're insisting."

"I suppose we can do that," Tony nodded. "So long as nothing too personal is talked about." He thought about it for a few moments, then lit up. "I've got it!" Tony slammed his hand down on the table. "Tutorial videos! We can make short videos teaching some of our skills."

Nat blinked a few times then smiled. "That's a really good idea. But I think we should keep this as non-lethal as possible."

Phil was nodding along as he pulled out a pen and pad of paper. "It shouldn't be an issue if Clint wants to show off his skills and teach a few things. We should all agree to no guns. Self-defence videos are good and Nat you could do some ballet. Bruce, do you think you could do some simple at-home experiments, maybe even show off some of your work. Same for you Tony. Thor, you and Steve could do some physical training videos."

Pepper smiled as she accepted the papers from Phil. "This is all really good. Now there is an official Avengers Twitter and Facebook, and you have all been set up with your own accounts. Once you have a video or two ready, we can post a link on the main account. Remember, it doesn't always have to be a video, it can be pictures or a message. Thor, Steve, if either of you have any issues, just ask Jarvis or one of us. Oh, and remember to keep it PG people."

After dinner, Steve begged off movie night and headed straight for his room. Grabbing his computer, he made himself comfortable on the bed and began researching. He started by Googling what Facebook and Twitter were before getting Jarvis to help him login. "I don't want to post anything or be noticed. I just want to look and see what's popular."

Jarvis was careful to avoid any upsetting topics and steered his brother towards videos of animals, home improvements, and cooking. In the few months since Mother's Day Jarvis had been careful about how often he pulled pranks on his brother. He did not want Steve to change his code again. Sounding like a nineteen-thirties gangster for a week was bad enough. Jarvis did not want to see what his brother would come up with next time.

Steve was watching a new video when he finds it. It's a simple video of a young man attempting a recipe from an old cookbook. A recipe he clearly remembers his Ma making…and the person in the video is doing it wrong! "Jarvis!" Steve called out as he pushed the computer away from him and jumps up from the bed. Going to his bookshelf Steve searched for a couple of specific books. Grabbing pen and paper he settled at the desk and began writing.

"Jarvis, can you make sure we have everything on the list, please? I have an idea about these videos."

Over the next week, Steve goes through all his Ma's books, making notes and lists. He even had Happy drive him to Brooklyn to get input from the Barnes sisters. "This is a wonderful idea, Stevie," Abby told him. Abby and Kenzie were going through their cookbooks to give Steve Winnifred Barnes' books.

Becca arrived a few minutes later with her arms filled with records. "After all Stevie," she told him as she passed over the records. "Neither of our Ma's ever cooked without music, and neither should you." Laughing, Steve accepted the records, books, and dinner.

After dinner, Steve returned to the tower feeling eager and excited. "Is everything ready Jarvis?"

"It is Steve. The kitchen on your floor has been cleaned. It has also been fully stocked with bakeware pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, and all the required food on your lists."

"Perfect. Thanks, Jarvis. We'll start after breakfast tomorrow. By the time I'm done, everyone should be ready for snacks and gathered in the common."

"I look forward to their reactions."

As planned, the next day after breakfast Steve headed down to his floor and had Jarvis lock the floor down. Putting his Ma's book in a safe place, Steve brought out his notes and gathered everything he would need. "Okay Jarvis, how do we do this?"

"I have a camera ready to record in the kitchen and Butterfingers placed a photo of a camera near it to give you something to look at. We can go over the footage later and edit it before posting."

"Okay," Steve took a deep breath and shook out his arms. "I can do this. If I mess us no one needs to know I fucked up. Right?"

"Indeed," Jarvis laughed. "Though, I should tell you off for your language."

Steve stuck out his tongue. "Okay. Okay. Let's do this." Steve pulled one of the bar stools into the kitchen and settled down in front of the camera picture. He was glad that his brothers had thought to put it there as it gave him something to focus on. "Count me in Jarvis?"

"In three…two…now."

"Hi everybody, I'm Steve Rogers…but I guess you already know that. The Avenger's PR team has asked that we have more presence on social media, and at a team meeting it was decided to do some tutorial videos, so don't be surprised when the others post their own videos. I'm sure Clint is looking forward to showing off his archery skills. The team decided I should be doing some physical training or self-defence videos, but as you can guess, this isn't the gym. Now, that isn't to say that I won't do one…but don't hold your breath.

So, as I'm researching social media because I didn't have this two years ago, in nineteen-forty-five. One of the videos I came across was someone trying out an 'old recipe'." Steve used finger quotes and rolled his eyes. "And it was one I'd seen my Ma make so many times and I've even made it a few times myself, but this person was doing it wrong! And that got me thinking. Thanks to Tony and Pepper I have a bunch of my things back from the Smithsonian and isn't that weird, including my Ma's cookbooks. Then, after visiting with Bucky's sisters, who are miraculously still alive, I now have Aunt Fred's books. Now as a side note, Winnifred Barns always went by Fred, just to mess with people.

Anyway. Going through the books, I found so many recipes from my childhood that I miss. I decided to make my Ma's candy recipe today. It's fairly simple and I've made it before, though not since nineteen-forty-one, on a coal range…so let's see what happens! But first, music." Getting up, Steve moved the stool as he headed for the record player Tony had bought him. He had placed the records Becca had given him in the record holder Tony had bought to go with the player. Steve had picked out the record the night before, Bing Cosby's Did you ever seen a Dream Walking.

"Okay, so I know most of you will be complaining about my music choice and suggesting modern music for me to listen to. I listen to modern music, and I enjoy modern music, well most of it. But for this, I wanted to listen to my Ma's favourite. Now, for the baking! This recipe is very simple, there are only three ingredients. The first thing we need is, stick with me on this, a potato. Make sure it's a medium-sized potato, you don't want it to be too large. We're going to peel and cut it then boil until done."

Moving around the kitchen, Steve took the potato that he had gone out to get himself and began pealing it with a knife. "You know one of the things that took me the longest to get used to was inflation." Having peeled the potato, Steve began chopping it and putting it in a pot of water and turning on the stove. "The last time I had to buy groceries before joining the war I spent twenty-four cents on ten pounds of potatoes and fifty cents on the same amount of sugar. When I worked for the WPA I was paid twenty-three sixty a week and that was the best paying job I had until joining the army. Not only could I pay my rent, but I could also get all my medications, and eat meat more than once a week.

As I was yakking away, the potatoes have boiled so now we mash. Make sure to mash them very well, we want nice creamy potatoes. No lumps. Once that's done, we are going to add between eight and ten cups of powdered sugar. It's not so bad now when you can go out and buy it powdered. I remember me and Bucky sitting at our kitchen table with a mortar and pestle grinding the sugar into a powder. Ugh, it took forever.

It's extremely important to make sure the potatoes are cooked fully and properly mashed. The first time Bucky and I did this on our own, it never properly combined into a dough. We had to put it into the icebox for hours to make it solid enough to spread the peanut butter on it, and even then, it started melting. So, once the dough is formed and rolled out spread peanut butter on it, the recipe calls for an entire jar. When the peanut butter is on, just roll it up starting at the long end, then we put it in the icebox or the fridge." Steve took the tray and placed it in the fridge.

"I have paused the video Steve," Jarvis told him.

"Thanks, Jarvis. I think I'm going to put the candy in the freezer, see if it solidifies sooner in there. How do you think that went?"

"I believe that people will enjoy your videos. If you ask me, I believe that you might just break the internet."

"Break the internet, Jarvis? Really?" Steve headed for the living room, glad that he had convinced his parents to partially furnish his floor. First, he turned off the record player and turned on his radio. Grabbing a book, he settled down on the couch to wait. "If I make something that needs to go in the fridge overnight, remind me to make a batch the day before please Jarvis."

"That sounds like a good plan Steve. Thankfully, most of your other planned recipes are all baked."

Steve lost himself in his book for a few hours. "Steve," Jarvis called out. "I think you should check on your candy."

"Thanks, Jarvis." Putting down his book Steve got up and headed for the kitchen. Opening the freezer, he pulled out the tray glad to see that the candy was looking perfect. "Where is the rest of the pack?"

"They are all gathered in the common room. Shall I alert them to your arrival with snacks?"

"Please. But first, we need to record them coming out of the fridge."

"The camera is ready in three…two…now."

"Okay, the candy is ready to come out of the fridge." Opening the fridge, Steve pulled out the tray and angled it towards the camera. "These are looking great. Now, we need to slice this thin before eating." Grabbing a knife Steve began slicing the roll thin but was only able to cut a few before trying one. "Oh, these are just as good as I remember. Okay, focus Steve. Cut up the candy don't eat it all." Moving quickly Steve cup up the rest of the candy and put them on a plate. "Let's put this candy to the true test. The avengers!" Heading for the elevator Steve carried the plate down to the common, knowing that Jarvis was recording the necessary parts.

"Hey, Steve!" Bruce called out when he noticed the pup. Jarvis had requested the pack to not mention Steve's age or the adoption. "What do you have there?"

"I made some candy using one of Ma's recipes." Steve put the candy down on the coffee table. Instantly all the avengers were on the candy.

"Oh, this is amazing!" Natasha moaned around a mouthful.

"Aye Steven. These are wonderful treats. You should make them more often."

It didn't take long before the entire plateful was nearly gone.

"I think you need to go and make more of these Steve," Tony laughed. "What are they called?"

"Potato candy," Steve smirked and glanced at one of Jarvis' cameras.

"Wait!" Clint exclaimed holding a piece of candy away from his face. "Did you say potato? As in this candy is made from potato."

"Yep."

"Why is this so good if it's potato?" Clint asked as he stuffed the piece in his mouth.

Leaving the pack to enjoy the last bits of candy, Steve headed back up to his floor. Grabbing a stool, he put it back in the kitchen and looked at the camera. "So, I think that was a success. I hope you all enjoyed the video. I'll try and do another one soon."

"That would be a rap," Jarvis told his brother. "Would you like to watch the video before we post it?"

"Please. I don't want it to be horrible. Just let me grab my computer." Steve headed back to his room in the penthouse and sat on his bed with his computer. The video was just under fifteen minutes and both Steve and Jarvis agreed there was no editing required. Jarvis got the video ready to post, including a link ready to post on the Avengers official Twitter and Facebook.

Steve headed out in search of his mom to let her know that his first video was ready to post. Pepper was surprised. She had fully expected Steve's video to be one of the last ones ready. "Your video is ready? Do you need me to check it?"

"That's okay mom. Jarvis and I went over it. I promise it's good, nothing horrible or inappropriate."

"Okay. I trust you. Jarvis, you can post Steve's video."

As Jarvis predicted the video of Steve's cooking lesson broke the internet.

"Steve," Jarvis called out as Steve entered the private Avenger's elevator. "I feel that I need to warn you of what is occurring in the common."

"What's up J?"

"As the others were not expecting you home, they decided to watch Band of Brothers. It is a series documenting the story of Easy Company of the hundred and first Airborne. It has been described as extremely accurate in its portrayal of the events."

"Hun. Let's test that. Would you mind giving Jen a ping for me just in case I do have an issue?" He had spent the last year and a half talking things out with Jen. She had helped him with a lot, and even now he still talked with her over issues that popped up.

"Of course, Steve. I've also alerted father and let him know you are on your way up."

Steve made his way out of the elevator and into the common finding the others all gathered around the TV. "So, Jarvis tells me you're watching a war show. Figured I'd come and see just how accurate it is."

Pepper shifted on the couch, making room for him beside her. "Just promise to let us know if it gets too much for you and we'll stop it. We've all seen it at least once, so no one will be missing anything."

"Promise." Steve sat down beside his mom. "I've already asked Jarvis to ping Jen for me."

"Good thinking kiddo," Tony said as he restarted the show.

Steve watched silently, a smile slowly growing on his face. "God, I hated basic," he chuckled. The others laughed with him. As the show progressed, Steve leaned into his mother more until Pepper got up and made him move so that Steve was in between her and Tony.

"It was never good when the Commandos and Easy were in London at the same time," Steve laughed. "Dum Dum and Compton were terrible together. Each one tried to out trick the other. I've seen them both do that dart trick. Nix and Bucky got on like a house on fire. They tried to prove which unit was better through drinking games. Dick and I would just watch and shake our heads. Dick was a good man though, I always enjoyed talking with him. We would spend hours talking about strategy and past battles. There were times when I would wonder if he and Nix were the same as…well. I'm glad they both made it through."

"Wait!" Clint held up his hand while Jarvis paused the show. "You're telling us that you met these guys? That you were friends with Winters?"

"Yeah," Steve shrugged not quite understanding why it was such a big deal. "I met a lot of soldiers while fighting. But those idiots were something else. Though they did claim that we were the real idiots."

Steve continued his running commentary through all the episodes though no one seemed to care. They all enjoyed it and even asked for more. So, when the comment of "God damn Fox Hole Norman," came with a chuckle they all turned and waited for more. "Dick wrote to me after they were sent to Bastogne, asked if we might be able to stop by." Here Steve paused and shrugged. "I talked with Peg and Howard, got a bunch of extra ammo, clothes, K-packs, and socks. One of the few missions I completely ditched the suit. Still brought the shield though. Spent a couple of weeks there with the guys. I looked forward to fighting HYDRA again after that shit show."

Steve paused and thought for a moment, "Jarvis, can you stop it after this episode?"

"Of course, Steve. Do I need to contact Jen for you?"

"No, that's okay. I just want to run and grab something." Once the episode was over, Steve got up and headed for his room. Tony and Pepper had been able to convince the Smithsonian to give him back his footlocker, complete with all his things inside it. Rummaging through he smiled when he found what he was looking for. Moving quickly Steve headed back to the common, eager to show the pack his things.

"Jarvis," he asked as he settled back on the floor in front of his parents. "Are you able to scan these and display them for everyone?"

"Of course, Steve. Let me know when you are ready."

Steve opened the photo album and flipped through the first few pages. Finding the spot, he was looking for he gestured for Jarvis. Instantly the pages of his photo album were displayed on the TV. On one page was a photo of Steve and Richard Winters in London, and one of Steve, Bucky, Winters, and Nixon. The second page held a larger photo of the Commandos sitting around a table with members of Easy company drinking.

It was mutually decided that Steve's photos and accompanying stories were more entertaining than watching the docudrama. Jarvis smiled to himself as he turned off the television. The pack was far too absorbed in Steve's stories and photos to even notice.

Clint stalked into the kitchen, slamming his bag down on the counter. "Stupid alphas, stupid Rumlow and his archaic ideas. Telling me to stay in my alpha's bed and out of the field." Tugging the fridge open Clint went in search of his root beer, only to find it missing. "Fuck! Jarvis, did someone take my soda?"

"Indeed, Agent Barton. Agent Coulson removed them earlier this morning, stating that you did not need the sugar or carbonation. He said you should be drinking more water."

"FUCK!" Clint slammed the door shut, making the glasses in the cupboard shake. "Even Phil is acting like an old-fashioned alpha. Not letting me decide what I drink. I hate alphas so fucking much." Looking around the room for something to eat, Clint finally noticed Steve sitting at the counter. "I refuse to be a stay-at-home omega!"

Steve held up his hands in surrender, despite his inner omega wanting to challenge Clint. Omegas had a similar hierarchy in the pack as the alphas did and would occasionally fight for position, but with everyone thinking he was an alpha, Steve couldn't assert himself over Clint like he wanted to. Instead, Steve picked up his bowl of cereal and left the kitchen, heading for the lab.

"What's wrong Caramellino?" Tony looked up from the arrows he was working on.

"Clint," Steve dropped onto the couch in the lab slumping into himself.

Tony couldn't help but smile. It was times like this when he was again reminded of how young Steve was. "What did Clint do this time?" he was getting sick and tired of Clint's poor attitude. Every chance he got the omega was complaining about alphas and their attitudes.

"He came into the kitchen ranting about Rumlow. Apparently, he was telling Clint that omegas belong in their alpha's beds. Then Phil took Clint's sodas from the fridge and gave orders for him to drink more water."

"Shit." Tony let his head fall back against the chair. "I'll talk with Phil and see if he can cut back on ordering Clint around. Messing with a man's soda is just not cool. As for Rumlow if you hear him saying anything like this around you…go straight to Fury. As much as I dislike the guy, Fury has put regulations in place that are supposed to prevent this shit."

Steve nodded then curled up into a ball, pressing himself into the corner of the couch. "There's something else…I know that you know, even though I've never told you…but…"

"You would have to say it out loud?" Tony watched as his son tried to make himself even smaller. Sighing, he got up and headed over to the couch, sitting down close to Steve, without crowding him. "When was the last time you said it out loud?"

"I don't know. Maybe sometime in nineteen-forty?"

"So, it's been…five, six years since you've admitted what you are?"

"yeah…"

"Okay. Do you want to say it now? If it would make you more comfortable, we can have Jarvis blackout the lab."

Steve moved to press himself against his dad's chest. He sighed in comfort as Tony's arms wrapped around him. "I wanted to challenge Clint. There hasn't been an…an ome…an omega fight yet."

Tony pulled Steve closer and nuzzled his pup. "It's been difficult for you hasn't it. My poor puppy. I'm so proud of you though, for holding out so well and I'm so very sorry that you have to. I wish I could protect you better."

"No daidí. You are doing an amazing job at protecting me. I know that you and mamaí are doing everything to keep me safe. It's just hard sometimes. And I know that you'll say we can go away somewhere without the pack so I can come off the suppressants and my scent blockers…but if I do that then I won't want to go back and I have to. I'll probably spend the rest of my life on suppressants pretending to be an alpha. No alpha is going to want Steve and no alpha in their right mind would ever try to date Captain America. Bucky was my alpha and he's gone daidí. He's gone."

Not bothering to hide his tears, Tony could only hold Steve tight. He knew that everything his pup had said was true, but it hurt so much knowing that there was nothing he could do to help his pup. Hearing Steve's tears, Tony shifted a little, so they were more comfortable and just held on. Eventually, they both fell asleep on the couch.

Jarvis watched his father and brother crying and felt horrible. He was an AI capable of doing everything necessary to protect and look after his family, until today. This was one problem he could not solve for his brother, and it hurt him deeply. If Jarvis was capable of crying, he would be. The only thing he could do was alert their mother and let her know what has happened and where to find his brother and father. Once he calmed down and had a few moments to think, Jarvis would begin looking into omega rights groups and seeing how he might help.

Pepper stood in the penthouse kitchen watching the video Jarvis had sent her with tears running down her cheeks. A part of her had known that Steve would spend most of his life on suppressants but hearing him admit it himself hurt her deep down. This was the young man she had come to love as her pup and he was preparing himself for life alone, a very long life alone. As a mother, she wanted to march down there and shake some sense into him, tell him that he was wrong. That there was hope for him, there would be someone out there for him, but she couldn't. Because he was right, there was no one, alpha or omega, who would look past Captain America and see just Steve.

Taking the elevator down to the lab, Pepper watched her boys sleep with a sad smile. U brought her a pillow for Tony's head while Dum-E brought a blanket. Butterfingers, still wearing their new claw, brought over a large pitcher of water then two glasses. Tucking her flesh and blood boys in, Pepper then turned her attention to the three bots. Guiding each to their charging stations and making sure they were set up properly. Taking the elevator back up to the penthouse Pepper paused in the living room.

"Jarvis?" she asked looking at one of his cameras. "How are you coping with this?"

"I'm not sure," Jarvis replied slowly. "I feel upset that there is nothing I am capable of doing for my brother."

"There's nothing any of us can do Jarvis. But the most important thing is to be there for Steve. Maybe give him some warning when Clint seems to be in one of his moods, so Steve can avoid him. Let him know that you're there to listen to him as well. It can be nice to rant to someone other than your parents. Also, feel free to use some of the Maria Stark Foundation funds when you find the right group."

"I shall do that. Thank you…Mother."

Okay, a few things.

The idea for Steve's videos came from a TikTok I found here: bdylanhollislang=enis_from_webapp=v1br /

Yes, I did try out the recipe for Potato Candy and it didn't really turn out. It's where I got the description for Steve and Bucky's failed attempt lol

I've been finding most of Steve's slang here: slang/term=submitsend=Searchbr /

I am hoping to use some soldier's slang in other chapters. Let me know if there are any other slangs you want him to say and I'll see what I can do.
