![]() Author has written 7 stories for iCarly, and Once Upon a Time. I've been reading fanfiction on this site for quite a while, but I just recently started writing some. I'm starting to understand why people like doing this so much. The reviews, alerts, etc. are addictive! I don't know how quickly I'll be able to write/update with work, family, boyfriend, etc. Rest assured, though, I will be spending some quality time with my laptop whenever possible. I hope you all will enjoy reading my stories as much as I have enjoyed reading yours. Favorite Pairings: Dark Angel--Max & Alec; Vampire Diaries--Damon & Elena; Harry Potter--Harry & Hermione; Twilight--Jacob & Bella; iCarly--Freddie & Carly; Wicked Lovely--Niall & Leslie; Mortal Instruments--Jace & Clary; Nip/Tuck--Christian & Julia; Blood Ties--Henry & Vicki; Buffy TVS--Buffy & Spike; Step by Step--Cody & Dana I love Supernatural, but there really aren't any pairings I especially like. Although, I think Dean and Bella could have been hot together. My philosophy on writing: Good writing requires both great ideas and clear, effective communication. I'm not one of those people who think that, as long as you have a good idea, proper grammar, spelling, etc., doesn't matter. IT DOES. Good ideas get lost in bad writing. It really doesn't matter how good your ideas are if your reader is too distracted by your poor use of language to appreciate them. I'm not saying I'm perfect--far from it. I make mistakes, too. (In fact, I've spotted a few errors in some of my fics here that are really bugging me. The only reason I don't take them down and fix them is because I don't want to lose all the lovely reviews.) I just think it's my job as a writer to make sure my use of language is the best I can achieve. Not to do so is disrespectful to the reader. As a reader, I find it offensive when a writer obviously pays no attention to the basic mechanics of language, so I try not to do that to my readers. I don't offer my services as a Beta because, quite frankly, I wouldn't be able to devote the time and attention to the task that it deserves. I would be doing a disservice to the writer. That's also why I don't ask others to serve as a Beta for me. I wouldn't feel right about asking someone else to give their time and energy to my writing when I can't do the same for someone else. |
