Chapter.22
Hey guys, hope you are all well. I didn't think I'd be this close to finishing this soon when it came down to this story. Including this one, there are only three chapters left. Hopefully, it feels natural and well earned. And then I can do the second part and really make things interesting. At least interns of genre. Anyway, I do hope you would consider and review down below. I hope you all enjoy the chapter.
The school week had come to a close and it was relatively uneventful. Kenny had little to no progress with Cartman. But he didn't really expect to. Especially with the weight of everything Cartman had done.
But Kenny would be lying if it wasn't the last thing in his mind. He had an important date with a certain young lady. Unexpectedly enough, a certain Hebrew connection had been helping him out.
Kyle had helped Kenny in a number of ways. The first and easiest was his advice and helping Kenny bring down his anxiety.
Secondly he had loaned Kenny one of his nice button up shirts. Even more so, Kyle lent Kenny his fathers cologne.
Kenny had made sure to express his gratitude for Kyle many times. Hoping that it could make up for all the times that he had fallen through for Kyle. But, Kyle stayed humble and told Kenny to not worry about it.
After all, he had a date to worry about.
Heidi and Kenny settled for 4:00 pm on Saturday. Since Kenny didn't have a phone, he would never know if Heidi would cancel or not. So there was always the chance he could get stood up. Even if it was for a good reason.
But, Kenny retained faith in Heidi.
Kenny was passing back and forth in front of the movie theater. He kept parting behind himself. Hoping that Heidi was there.
But, was Kenny truly ready for this? Maybe there was a part of himself that wasn't ready for what ensued. A part of himself that feared that no matter how many times he tried, that he might not have what it takes to be with Heidi.
If Kenny was honest, if truly being in love meant dealing with all this self doubt, then move was truly bull shit.
Kenny looked at his reflection and ensured he was looking his sharpest. He made sure his bangs weren't in his face. He also made sure that the blue collared shirt he was wearing didn't stick out his pants. And that his buttons were perfectly lined up and didn't reveal his undershirt in any way. He was always told to make sure that it didn't stick out in any way. Kenny still brought his trademark jacket just in case. He did live in a mountain town after all.
Kenny also made sure that his pants didn't have any stains or rips in them. As far as clothes go, Kenny's pants were probably the best maintained. He always made sure that they never faded and took extra care to avoid tearing them. This held true even in death. It was either all or nothing with his pants. Kenny had no idea why he valued them so much. Probably something to do with the fact he was poor.
Kenny continued to preen himself until he heard someone call him from a short distance away.
"Well Kenny, don't you look sharp."A voice said
Kenny made a surprised face and looked towards his left. He caught the reflection of a girl with brunette hair in the window.
Kenny smiled. He couldn't help but be happy to be in Heidi's prescensce. But something was different about Heidi.
"Guess I'm not the only one who decided to dress up a bit."Kenny said
Heidi had also taken the liberty of assuming that they were on a bit of a date. She had decided to not wear her trademark beanie. Instead she opted for a hair band that featured a flower on the left side. She also put on some black mascara to make her eyes pop.
Heidi also put a bit more effort into her outfit as well. She put on a sleeveless top that had black and white stripes. It was a bit more spunky than something Heidi would wear as a top, but she had a little advice from Bebe via text. Heidi also wore a white cardigan to cover up her shoulders. The material used was a bit thin but it did its job and looked presentable.
Combined with a blue skirt that went to her knees, Heidi's outfit was considered quite lethal to Kenny. Normally, Kenny would prefer a girl with more revealing clothing. But with Heidi, anything she had looked amazing to him.
From Heidi's perspective, no matter how he phrased it, Kenny still called their little meet up a date. And of course she would at least try to look better than normal. She did still have feelings for him. Even if the weight of Heidi's situation with Mysterion had somewhat changed.
Heidi walked closer to Kenny. Kenny could feel his blood pressure rising and needed some way to not give what he was feeling away.
Heidi tousled Kenny's hair and unbuttoned the first button on his shirt. Kenny could hear his heart in his ears. The combination of her touch and the scent of her perfume was really getting to him. Kenny feared if his heart rate went too high that it might kill him.
"There. There is the Kenny I know and how he would look. You should also untuck your shirt. It looks a bit nerdy like that."Heidi said
"Uuuu..o ya, sure."Kenny said as he pulled himself together.
Heidi could tell something was off. She wanted to pry but her anxiety was just as high as Kenny's. She was just better at making the initial moves and hiding it.
She also did prefer the more rugged Kenny that didn't value his looks. Just a guy that lived as he was.
Kenny could tell that he was acting strange. A conversation seemed to be the best way to distract from that.
"So, how did you get here?"Kenny asked
"Well, I walked."Heidi responded
Kenny's brow moved upward in surprise.
"Wow. Figured your parents would have dropped you off."Kenny replied
"No, they're working today. Just went through downtown."Heidi said
Kenny took a mental sigh of relief. He knew that some of the streets could be sketchy to say the very least.
"That's good. But you should still be careful."Kenny said
Heidi developed a confused look on her face. She knew Kenny cared for her but didn't expect him to make sure she was gonna be careful. But Heidi weirdly appreciated it.
Kenny didn't realize what he had said at first. But after he did, he embarrassingly rubbed the back of his head.
"Careful Kenny, your Mysterion is showing."Kenny thought to himself.
"Sorry...just a habit."Kenny said
Heidi smiled.
"It's okay. I think it's sweet. But I'm a big girl. I can handle myself if I need to. Now c'mon, I want to get down snacks before the movie starts."Heidi said
"Alright."
The pair walked side by side. Kenny felt his anxiety rising again. They were standing so close to one another. They might as well hold hands.
A part of Kenny wanted to. But the other side didn't want to seem weird and overstep any boundaries.
Lucky for our favorite poor boy, the ticket clerk was only a few steps away.
Upon arriving, they were met with a young man in his late teens to early twenties. He had black hair that was trimmed to form a crew cut.
Heidi approached the counter and put down a 20 dollar bill.
"Two for My Crazy RomCom please."Heidi said
The ticket clerk scoffed.
"Sorry, but I think Buddy, Buddy Unicorn 2 is more your style."The ticket clerk said with a slight lisp.
Kenny looked at Heidi. Her face showed confusion.
"What?"Heidi asked
"My Crazy RomCom is too mature for the likes of you squirts. Now choose a different movie or beat it."
"Squirts!"Heidi exclaimed
Heidi's face now reflected one of anger. Kenny thought it would be best to step in.
"Listen here you-
Kenny puts his arm in front of Heidi and pulls out a 20 dollar bill of his own. Kenny puts it in front of the ticket clerk.
"I'll take two for Buddy, Buddy Unicorn."Kenny said in a calm fashion
The ticket clerk takes the money and prints out their respective tickets. Heidi gave him a foul look as he did so.
"Here you babies go. Figured you'd need it. Say hello to your moms for me."The ticket clerk said
Kenny took the tickets.
"Thank you."Kenny says as he begins to guide Heidi to the side of the building.
Kenny guides Heidi to the side of the building, away from the entrance.
"Gews, what was the guy's problem? Also, I think we are a bit too old to be watching Buddy, Buddy Unicorn. And why aren't they inside the building?"Heidi asked
"To answer the first question, he's always a dick. Secondly, we needed to get tickets so we could get to the concession stand without being questioned. I know a secret way into the theater. Hopefully, it's the one playing that movie you wanted to see."Kenny responded
"Really? You know a secret way? Why didn't we do that for the start? We wouldn't have to spend any money that way."
"Because I wanted snacks..can't go to the snack stand without one."
Kenny couldn't help but think about his stomach first. Unfortunately, that would cost him an extra 20 bucks.
"Alright..where is this secret way?"Heidi questioned
"It's around the corner."Kenny said
"Okay."
Heidi and Kenny walked around the corner where they found an alley. It was the backside of the theater.
It had a ladder built into the wall. Kenny put his foot on the ladder and shook a few times to make sure it would stay in place.
"Alright, it should be good to go."Kenny said as pointed upward.
Kenny took the lead to make sure that the ladder didn't fail when he was half way. Unlike Heidi, Kenny could back from a fall like that.
As he climbed the ladder with Heidi behind him, Kenny realized that his righteous virtue of making sure that Heidi didn't die in the ladder kept him from chivalry. He always let the ladies go first.
But something else also clicked for Kenny. If she had gone first...and she was wearing a skirt..then Kenny could probably look up and see her...
Kenny began to blush. He also slapped himself in the face. Mentally of course.
"Shame on you Kenny. She's not just some hoe you can gawk at and fantasize about."Kenny thought to himself.
Upon getting onto the rooftop and pulling himself up, Kenny offered a hand up to Heidi. She gladly accepted. Guess Kenny had found a way to make up for his(not so)lack of chivalry.
Kenny then went over to a vent and peered into a vent. He looked in to see a black screen and a few people taking their seats.
Kenny then removed the vent in a gentle manner.
"Alright, if we're quiet, we should go in unnoticed."Kenny said with a smile.
Heidi nodded her head.
"Ladies first."Kenny said
"Sure."Heidi said with uncertainty. She didn't want there to be a drop and she ended up on her ass.
After making her way, Kenny flowed her. Kenny then pointed to a ladder that led to an exit.
After climbing down the ladder,Kenny and Heidi proceed to exit the theater. After entering the main lobby, It seemed that no one had seen them.
"Sweet. Looks like no one noticed us."Kenny said
"Ya, gonna have to remember that next time I come here."Heidi replied
The pair headed to the snack stand. Heidi kept it simple and just got a medium soda. She didn't want to have to go to the bathroom and leave Kenny alone and awkward.
Kenny wanted to get a large popcorn with a bunch of candy and a large soda. But after noticing what Heidi had bought, Kenny felt a bit strange.
He didn't want to send the wrong message and seemed more focused on stuffing face rather than focusing on her. Kenny decided to just get a soda as well.
Heidi noticed this and couldn't help but feel concerned.
"I thought you said you wanted snacks?"Heidi asked
"No, I'm good with just this. Wasn't really that hungry.."Kenny said
Heidi frowned. She was really concerned. They had gone through the secret passage way to get here and Kenny had spent his own money for him to just get a soda. Heidi didn't buy it.
"Are you sure? If you need money, I can give you some."Heidi said
"It's fine Heidi. I'm good."Kenny followed up.
"Alright."Heidi responded.
Kenny and Heidi looked for the theater that was playing the movie Heidi wanted to see and found it with little effort.
The pair found a place to sit in the back. Kenny preferred the cinematic experience by having an elevated place to sit. Heidi didn't mind, although she did prefer a seat in the middle of the theater.
The move started and it was what Kenny expected.
It was funny and starred the same blonde that was probably doing cocaine before the film. It mainly took place from the women's point of view. Kenny considered taking notes.
There were parts that made Kenny laugh but it was mostly cliche. Girl meets the guy. They don't really get along. They are forced into a situation that gets them closer. Through random, goofy circumstances they get together. Guy finds out something about the girl that makes him feel like shit. He in turn makes her feel like shit.
After she goes back for him at a cliche location, the girl admits feelings and confesses her love for him. Guy feels the same and they kiss and get together. End.
It was predictable but whatever. Kenny was a lot more focused on Heidi than anything else.
He would look over now and again to see her smiling and genuinely enjoying the movie.
Kenny didn't mind feminine stuff or rom coms but they did get a little cheesy. He was happy that Heidi was able to look past that and just enjoy the movie.
Kenny looked down to Heidi's hands. They were normally gloved but today Heidi had them out in the open. She had them just casually chilling on the arm rest.
Kenny then looked at Heidi who had a smile stapled to her face as she watched the movie. Kenny gulped, maybe this was the time to go for it and go for a hand hold.
Normally, he would go for the old arm over the shoulder. However, the chairs were too big for Kenny to try without looking awkward. Also, it felt way too generic and something some sleeze bag would pull on some casual date. And for Kenny, this wasn't just any date.
Kenny was beginning to rethink his move. His hands were getting sweaty and were trembling. What if she reacted? What if she reacted with disgust? What if it was because he was dirty? Or maybe she knew how much of a perv he really was.
Kenny began to stretch his arm out ever so slightly. He looked at his hand and back at Heidi's. Then back at her face then at the movie screen. The back at his hand. Then Heidi. Then the people sitting behind them. Then back at the screen and back at his hand.
The anxiety of executing the hand hold was killing Kenny. He had to do it now or do it never.
Kenny began to go for it. He was inches close..only a few more inches and Kenny would set the tone for the rest of the date.
Before Kenny could actually go for the grab, Heidi turned to grab her drink. Kenny awkwardly turned back to face the screen. Heidi only made a confused face and sipped on her then turned toward the screen to keep watching the film.
As Heidi watched the film, she couldn't help but think about her situation. The film itself reminded her of everything she went through with Cartman.
Fall in love, break up, change and get back together. The steps seemed simple enough. And through her own experience, it was. Perhaps just a little too simple otherwise she wouldn't have ended up as the mess that she had become with Cartman.
But if it weren't for that initial fall out, Heidi may not be sitting next to the boy she was sitting next to now.
Heidi looked to her left to see Kenny watching the movie with a blank expression. One that showed no emotion. She never thought she'd see that from Kenny.
From the time they first spoke to each other to the times he went out of his to make her feel better and vise versa, Heidi had learned that Kenny was a very emotional person.
But the site Heidi was seeing was very unlike him. He seemed almost like a soldier with only one goal of finishing the mission. Be emotionless and get the job done. Little did Heidi know that Kenny was on the verge of combusting(emotionally).
Heidi could feel that something was up with Kenny. Or at least something was bothering him. Whether it was her or something else, Heidi was unaware.
Heidi then looked at Kenny's hands that were clenched. Maybe her touch would put whatever was troubling at ease.
Heidi would be lying if she didn't feel a wave of anxiety come over her. Heidi slowly moved her hand toward Kenny.
As she did this, she couldn't help but think that she may be betraying someone else. That she may be neglecting to consider someone else. Then the thought came to her.
Mysterion. Sure, maybe he wouldn't actually care about the exploits of some random girl on a date. But to Heidi, being loyal to your feelings meant something. It was the foundation of a potential relationship.
If you are loyal to the feelings you have for someone, then when the time comes to be loyal for that someone, it would be easy to stick by them no matter what.
But it was the same methodology that led her to stand by Cartman and embrace her relationship. No matter how shitty it got. She would stay. By her code of ethics and-
Before Heidi could consol the thoughts in her head, she felt her hand touch Kenny's skin.
She looked to Kenny who was looking in his peripheral with a little bit of shock and then towards Heidi. Heidi closed her eyes and smiled at Kenny. It was now or never.
She fully locked her hand with Kenny's.
Kenny responded with a smile of his own. It was a very nervous smile to say the least. But Kenny didn't really mind something like this.
Kenny was also thankful that the lights weren't on in the theater. Otherwise his face could easily be mistaken for a tomato.
Heidi turned her face back to the screen. Her hand still locked with Kenny's. Kenny did the same. Kenny's smile slowly became more natural.
Something just felt so right about it. Two people who cared about each other and enjoyed something together.
"Nothing could ruin this."Kenny thought to himself.
Kenny couldn't help but feel this was all too good to be true.
"Hey random ticket check, sorry folks-wait minute. You're those squirts from earlier! How did you get here?"said the ticket clerk.
Kenny looked at Heidi and she looked right back.
"You never catch us alive!"Kenny shouted
The other people in the theater looked towards the situation that was unfolding behind them.
In one quick motion Kenny grabbed his drink and chucked it at the ticket clerk. He then got up and pulled Heidi to her feet and dragged her along to the hidden exodus they used to enter the theater.
Upon arriving at the ladder they used to get in, Kenny was chivalrous and met Heidi go up first. She went up as fast as she could while trying to keep fit so she didn't fall off the ladder.
Kenny looked back to see the ticket clerk looking akin to an angry rhino on the savannah. He looked truly crazy covered in orange soda.
Kenny looked upward and was disappointed to see that Heidi was up quite high enough for him to fully start climbing.
Kenny knew it was now, never. Kenny unleashed his inner Mysterion and jumped onto the side of the ladder and climbed up using pure upper body strength.
Heidi was almost at the top whilst Kenny was still in range of the ticket clerk.
"You little bastard!"The clerk exclaimed
The clerk jumped to grab Kenny's pant leg but to no avail.
Heidi heard the clerks screech and linked to see right next to her. She was shocked, confused and impressed with Kenny's ability to climb. Heidi went on top of the platform to help hoist Kenny up. After getting up on the platform, Kenny looked back at the ticket clerk who was now climbing up the ladder. The site that met Kenny's eyes was one of a man who was solely powered by his impudent rage.
"What the hell is up with this guy?"Heidi asked
"I dunno, probably still a virgin. Let's go."Kenny said as he grabbed Heidi's hand and led her to the vent.
Kenny let go of Heidi's hand and exited the building with Heidi following suit.
After exiting, Kenny closed the vent.
Kenny then ran over to Heidi who was ready to go down the ladder.
"Cmon."Heidi said as she gestured downward.
Heidi went down first as fast as she could. Kenny looked back to see the ticket clerk with his face pressed against the vent, eyeing Kenny down.
Kenny gulped and looked back to Heidi was partly down the ladder. He'd rather take a chance with the jump than some maniac. He did the same as he did in the theater and climbed alongside the ladder but went down.
Heidi noticed Kenny and upon coming to eye level with him on the ladder, Kenny smiled at her. Heidi reciprocated with a smile of her own.
Kenny seemed to be a fair distance from the ground so he let go and landed feet first. Kenny smiled to himself. But quickly remembered as to why people climb ladders and don't just jump off of them.
Kenny felt an abrupt pain hit his knees. Kenny felt like he was about to cry. He could feel the tears filling his eyes.
"Why do I keep doing that?"Kenny said to himself as he went to grab his knees.
"What?"Heidi asked as she got off the ladder.
"Ooo nothing."Kenny responded
Heidi was curious about what Kenny said but shook it off.
"Do you think he's still coming after us?"Heidi questioned
"Naa. He doesn't get paid enough."Kenny responded
"Good point."Heidi said
The pie looked up at the sky. The sun had already set behind the mountains and the stars were already hanging in the sky.
"Damn, guess we were in there longer than we thought."Kenny said
"Ya it's a longer movie. And we were pretty close to the end with them finally getting together in the end. It was a bit cliche. But the actress did an amazing job. And the main guy...sheeessh. Hunk."Heidi said
Kenny snickered
"Ya, I ain't gay or anything but the man was pretty handsome."Kenny followed
Heidi smiled.
"Ya, but I'm still a bit confused as to why they chose to do a movie with such a basic script and premise."Heidi said as she began to walk
"Eee I guess money talks. And seeing as they both have done Oscar worthy movies before this, they probably had the clout so that they wouldn't have to worry about it hurting their career in any way."Kenny said as he began to walk alongside Heidi.
The pair just started walking along the streets of the cold mountain town.
They talked about the movie, their frantic escape, the ticket clerk and how they kind of felt bad for him but that he was still kind of dick.
They also reflected on their friends and their experiences with them. To Kenny's surprise, Heidi and her friends did get up to some shenanigans. Nothing to the volume that Kenny and his friends would often find themselves in but still interesting scenarios such as getting lost in unfamiliar areas and having to bullshit your way out of trouble.
As the two walked and talked, the world around them seemed to keep moving. The sky grew many shades darker and stars seemed to keep sprouting from it.
The pair eventually found themselves in the local park where they decided to sit in the swing set. Seeing as there are no homeless in the park currently, Heidi and Kenny took advantage of this opportunity. Kenny sat in the left swing whereas Heidi took the one to the right.
Upon making contact with the cold plastic that held the swing together, Heidi shivered and folded her arms. Walking helped them fight off the cold mountain air. Now that they were sitting, it would seem that it would finally hit them.
Kenny noticed Heidi's reaction. He was still holding his jacket and wasn't wearing it. He decided that the girl was to his left. Kenny stood up and walked a short distance to Heidi. He put the jacket on Heidi's shoulders.
"Here."Kenny said as he rested his jacket on Heidi.
Heidi looked back to Kenny.
"Are you sure? It is pretty chilly."Heidi said
"Ya, it's fine. I've dealt with this stuff all the time."
As Kenny took his seat. His teeth made a noticeable chatter.
Heidi rolled her eyes with a noticeable smirk. She knew Kenny was tough but he was still human.
Heidi began to take off her jacket when she noticed that she was still wearing her cardigan. Kenny's parka was warm enough without it. Heidi began to take the cardigan off under the parka. She held it and looked it at for a second.
"There is no way he would actually-
"Aaa I see you have a trade? Well I have you know that I'm not against employing cloths of the opposite gender for survival."Kenny said in a manly voice. He had cut off Heidi's thoughts.
Heidi giggled.
"Alright. Just a fair warning. It's not very usable in this kind of climate."Heidi said
"Duly noted."Kenny said
Heidi passed him the piece of clothing and put it on. Seeing as he did have a bigger frame from Heidi's, Kenny did seem to stretch the cardigan.
Kenny looked toward with a hand on his chin and puckered his lips.
"How do I look?"Kenny asked
Heidi laughed.
"You look great hahaha."Heidi said
Heidi then collected herself. It was just them. No homeless, no family of hers or his. No friends to tell you right or wrong. It was the moment to talk to Kenny about the matters of her heart.
She gripped the parka that was resting on her shoulders and couldn't help but feel like she might be making the wrong decision.
She knew her chances with Mysterion were less than likely. And Kenny was everything she could ask for in a partner. And he had really been there for Heidi when it mattered most. And the same went for her when Kenny was at his lowest.
And the chemistry was undeniable. They had literally just walked around the city of South Park with no sense of the time. When she was with him, the rest of the world didn't matter.
And the fact that Heidi's heart was parted by him just proved how she felt for him. But, Mysterion was doing the same and in the end, maybe Mysterion would be better for her in terms of anything regarding her ex.
Heidi's face noticeably changed to a frown. Kenny picked up on this.
"What's the matter?"Kenny asked
"It's….It's…"Heidi tried to say.
She knew what she needed to say but the words weren't escaping her mouth.
How do you tell someone you're in love with them but you want to consider a potentially "better option". That's not easy for someone with a decent sense of morality. She didn't have it in her to break Kenny like that.
"It's what?"Kenny questioned
"Well...what do you do when your confused…"Heidi said
"Are you gay?"
"What? No! That's not even close."Heidi responded
"Ooo whoops, sorry."Kenny said as he rubbed the back of his head with an embarrassed look on his face.
"But what is then?"Kenny asked
Heidi exhaled.
"Kenny, I'm just in a situation that demands a certain amount of genuine thought so nobody gets hurt. What do you do when you're stuck in a situation like that and can't really tell anybody?"Heidi said
This situation seemed a bit too familiar to Kenny. He knew what it was like having wavered you couldn't tell anybody. There was a sharp feeling in his mind that Heidi may be aware of his revival . But he already tested for that with Heidi seeming unaware.
Regardless of what or how complicated his situation was, Kenny still needed to put it aside and try to understand Heidi's. For her.
"Do you mind if I ask what partook in this situation to make it so complicated?"Kenny questioned
"Ummm I think it's better for the people involved if I don't specify."Heidi followed up with.
"Is it-
"No, it's not Cartman."Heidi said
"Alright, guess she can read minds now."Kenny thought to himself
"Well Heidi, the best thing you can do is why you're doing it right now. Ask for advice and consider all your options. And think. Just sit back and think. Your smart so I know you can find the solution you need."Kenny said
Heidi looked up to Kenny and back to the ground.
"Alright. Thank you Kenny."Heidi said
"No problem."Kenny said
There was a pause. A pause that Heidi would come to regret.
"I...I think I'm ready to go home now."Heidi said
She stood up and waited for Kenny to do the same.
"Ooo sure."Kenny said
Heidi began to walk and Kenny followed as they walked towards Heidi's house.
Heidi was disappointed in herself for not speaking her mind. It made her feel...dishonest. Not to Kenny or Mysterion but to herself. Like how she use to be.
Kenny took off the cardigan as it made him kind of scratchy whereas Heidi kept Kenny's parka on.
There was no talking like there was before. Just silence. Kenny knew something was up.
Had he done or said something to upset her? She didn't seem like the type to get offended at a accusation of homosexuality.
Or was it something else having to do with her friends or family. She had spoken fondly of both when they were talking earlier.
Maybe it was something that if Kenny's understanding. He had experienced some crazy shit before. It did hit harder than expected when your world was turned upside down. Maybe Heidi was going through something like that.
Regardless, whatever was bugging Heidi was begging to bug Kenny. They were having such a perfect day together. For it to get all in the end sucked. Especially since he considered telling her how he felt today. Back at the pro would have been perfect.
Kenny kept talking before he almost rammed into Heidi when he realized that she had stopped.
Kenny looked to his left to see the cornflower pink house that Heidi lived in.
Heidi turned around and locked Kenny in a hug.
But this hug was a lot more emotional than the others they had shared. Instead of her head being up, Heidi had her face buried in Kenny's chest.
It reminded Kenny of when they first hugged.
Kenny quickly reciprocated the hug.
Heidi partly broke the hug to speak to Kenny.
"Thank you for today. It was fun."Heidi said
"Ya, no problem. I had a lot of fun too. You know Heidi, you can talk to me right? About anything. Especially if something is bothering you."Kenny said
"I know. Thank you. I'll tell you soon. Just...right now isn't the time to do it."
Kenny nodded. Heidi brought Kenny back in for another hug. After a few seconds, Kenny partly broke it. Kenny made eye contact with Heidi.
Was now the time to tell her? The time to just go for it?
Then, Kenny heard a car pull up. Based on the look of the car. It seems to be Heidi's parents.
Kenny looked back to Heidi.
"I'll see in school, alright?"Kenny said
"Okay, be safe getting home. My parents can give you ride if you'd like?"Heidi responded
"Thank you but I'm pretty sure I'll be fine."
"Alright…"Heidi said
The pair broke the hug. And both parties went their separate ways.
Kenny gritted his teeth. He chickened out. He had a chance and he didn't act. His inner Mysterion was very disappointed.
Kenny would now have to regroup and rethink. He needed to deal with this.
The sooner Kenny put everything out on the floor with Heidi, the sooner he could figure out his immortality. The sooner he wouldn't have to worry about it once and for all.
And hopefully, Heidi would be right by his side.
Ooo my lord, another chapter done. You probably saw this in the update but I didn't update this story for a month which broke my schedule. But it was important that I had the creative energy to write these chapters. Especially the next two. The chapter following will probably be the longest in the story so far. I also have to be careful with how word things are so it all makes sense. I also was able to finish this sooner. So it looks like I'm going to do this the day after the update...a quick thing that I would like to mention is that Heidi's wardrobe in this chapter is inspired by sleepyeule's design of Heidi on tumblr. I altered one or two things but besides that I kept it pretty similar. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you would consider critiquing and commenting down below. I hope you all have a great day(or night based on where you live.)
