Chapter.23
Hey y'all, hope you are doing well. It turns out I'm a liar because it looks like I'm gonna write another chapter. I fell on this because I want everything to come together properly as I don't want the chapter to feel bloated. So buckle up buck-a-roos. Anywhale, I hope you all enjoy the chapter. If you could comment and/or critique down below. It would be much appreciated.
Kenny and Heidi would be on good terms when they talked. Neither one of them shared contempt for one another. But when it came to themselves, they were loathing thier actions.
For the rest of the weekend, Kenny kept running the date through his head and was trying to find out what he did. He even tried remembering exact word for word sentences and looked into if what he had said had any negative contiations and compared them to previous conversations he had with Heidi.
Considering there was a lot of words shared between the two on the date, this was proving to be quite the task for Kenny.
Kenny was in the school hallway at his locker when he noticeably put his head against his locker. Kenny just couldn't put it together. Hat had he done? His two friends and Cartman looked at each other with confusion.
"Umm Kenny. You alright buddy."Stan asked
Kenny snapped out of his thoughts and looked toward Stan, Kyle and Cartman.
"It's just….it's.."Kenny failed to get the words out.
He looked at Cartman and could sense where his reluctance to say anything was coming from. He didn't have the energy or the mindset to deal with anything Cartman was gonna say or do if he mentioned anything that had to do with his date with Heidi.
"Kyle can I have a word?"Kenny asked
Kyle had a befuttled look on his face.
"Sure."Kyle replied
Kenny began to walk in the opposite direction of his friends with Kyle following.
Stan and Cartman raised a brow
"Damn Stan, looks like Kenny is trying to steal your man."Cartman commented
"Shut up."Stan followed
Kenny and Kyle kept walking until that had turned the corner of the hallway and were a sizable distance from cartman. Then, Kenny stopped with Kyle follwing suit.
"So Kenny, what's up?"Kyke asked
"Uuu I think I may have messed up but I don't know."Kenny said
"Does it have to do with your date with Heidi?"Kyle questioned
"Ya. It was wierd man. It was all going so well then she randomly shut down on me towards the end. She said she was dealing with something but she wouldn't tell me what. All I know is that Cartman isn't involved."
"Well that's good to have confirmation that it has nothing to do with Cartman. Did you say anything offensive?"
"I don't think so. I just wore her cardigan and pretended to be fabulous which you know...I am."Kenny said
Kyle rubbed his chin and thought. He knew Kenny could be goofy and did sometimes act a bit femine. But that shouldn't be enough to offend. And Heidi would probably laugh about and not just get offend out of nowhere if she did have a problem with it.
Also, Kenny did mention about her being involved in a situation that seemed to be upsetting her. Seeing as she didn't want to tell Kenny about it. Maybe she tell somebody else. That only maybe her friends.
That seemed like the best option. That way if Kenny did do something to upset her, she would probably tell them and inturn, might tell Kenny. And if not, maybe they could enlighten him with the situation she is in.
Kuke snapped his fingers and shocked Kenny a little
"So here is what you should do. I think you should and ask and talk to one of her friends and see what she told them. Seeing as they are her friends and that you care about how you made her feel, they may tell you what's up."Kyle said
Kenny gave a nod.
"Good thinking."Kenny said
"We still got a few minutes before class so if I was you, I'd go out and find one of her friends."Kyle suggested
"Alright, thanks bro. I owe you."Kenny said as began to move away and get ready to look for one of Heidi's friends.
"No problem."Kyle said as he turned back to his locker.
Kenny clenched his fists and began to look for one of Heidi's friends. He was primarily looking for Wendy as she seemed the most sound.
Kenny definitely respected the other girls in Heidi's friend group but some of them could be a little too "girly". More of just wanting to hear the tee and give some advice they saw in a movie or in a book rather than actually find a realistic solution to the current situation.
Kenny couldn't really blame them, he didn't mind a little bit of gossip. Unless that gossip revolved around him.
Kenny kept looking from left to right and hoping to see someone he knew was friends with Heidi.
"Damn, where these fuckin girls?"Kenny said to himself.
The time before class was waiting and Kenny didn't want to push off anything any longer. Especially not after that date.
Kenny kept eyeing around until he saw a girl with curly blonde hair in a clad red outfit. After the whole karaoke experience, Kenny could presume that Bebe was considered one of Heidi's closer friends.
From what Kenny was told from his friends as well as his own experiences, it seemed that Bebe could be seen as his alternate female self.
Besides from being blonde, Kenny as well as Bebe definitely were the type to somewhat judge someone based on physical looks. Kenny likes to think he has a bit more depth than that as too accept someone based on their personality and morals than just their physical
Looks.
Kenny was hoping that the same would rain true for Bebe. And she wasn't the gossipy type of friend.
Kenny apporicaged the blonde and gave her a tap on the shoulder. Bebe pulled her face out from her locker in surprise.
"Ooo, hey Kenny. What's up?"Bebe asked
"Hey Bebe. Mind if I ask you a few questions?"Kenny questioned.
"Sure, is it about Heidi?"Bebe said with a smirk.
"Well ya. I was just wondering if Heidi said anything about what happened this weekend."
"She said everything went fine. Why? Did something happen?"
Kenny began to look down.
"Well everything was going great until she just went mute all the sudden. I don't know if I did something that upset her so I decided I should ask one of her friends to see if any of you guys know anything."Kenny said
"To be honest, she really didn't say much. Just that everything went fine."
"Ooo…"Kenny responded
Kenny was begging to think that Heidi wasn't into him as much as he thought.
Bebe noticed the sudden change within Kenny and decided to act.
"Well, how about this? What if I go and ask her for ya."
Kenny looked back to Bebe.
"Really?"Kenny asked
"Ya, me and Heidi are tight."Bebe said while she crossed her fingers together.
Kenny then developed a smile.
"Thanks Bebe. That would be great!"Kenny replied
"For sure."Bebe said
The bell rang signalling the students to get to class.
"Alright. Thanks. I'll see you around."Kenny said as he turned around to get to class.
Bebe smiled and headed towards class herself.
Bebe's mind began to think of ways to address the problem at hand.
"So you didn't have it in ya Heidi, didn't ya?"Bebe thought to herself
It was apparent that Heidi did like Kenny. But if she really wanted to pursue something with this mystery person, she would need to do what needs to be done to set borders with Kenny.
Bebe never really found herself in that kind of situation. She was more of a first come, first serve kind of girl when it came to relationships. Or whoever was the hottest or had the biggest wallet...sometimes. Therefore, her only experience with this kind of situation was through movies and books.
Bebe considered herself lucky that she wasn't the one caught in this problematic situation.
But in the end, she was Heidi's friend. And that would require making sure that her friend did what needed to be done. Not for Bebe's issues but just for Heidi's.
Bebe came upon a small group of her friends which included Heidi. She seems to be happy.
"Well, looks like I gotta be the ball buster."Bebe thought to herself
Bebe snuck around her friends and got as close to Heidi as possible. Bebe then procceded to lower a brow and forged a wide smile on her face while leaning on a locker.
It didn't take Heidi to notice this. She was a little confused and felt a bit awkward. But she could guess what this meant. Bebe only acted like this when she knew something.
Bebes other friends such as Wendy and Nicole also looked at Bebe in confusion.
Heidi finally decdied to indulge Bebe and her wierd expression.
"Ummm what's up Bebe?" Heidi asked
"Ooo nothin much. How about you? Have a nice weekend?"Bebe questioned
"Ya, it was fun I guess."Heidi responded
"Was it?"Bebe in a unbelieving tone.
Heidi paused. Did Kenny say something to Bebe?
"Bebe what's this about?"Heidi asked
"Ya, you trying to start something?"Nicole said to Bebe.
"No of course not. I'm just trying to be a good friend and make sure you follow through with things."Bebe replied to Nicole's comment
Heidi's mind was decided. She could guess what Kenny had told Bebe.
"What did Kenny tell you?"Heid questioned
Bebe gave up her cocky look and exhaled.
"Well, Kenny told me nothing but good things. Until you went radio silent out of nowhere. He thought he may have done something. Tell me Heidi, had he?"Bebe said
Heidi faced Bebe.
"Well it was all great. But I thought I would be able to tell him about everything you and Wendy discussed with me. But when the moment came to, I couldn't do it. I hated that couldnt and it really hurt but I couldn't do that Kenny after the great day we had. So I was kind of in my own head and developed a bit of contement for myself."Heidi answered
"So you went silent on him?"Wendy asked
"Well...I didn't mean to. But I just couldn't really say anything after that. I didn't mean to make him feel like he did anything."
Heidi put her head against her locker in disappointment.
"I don't normally agree with Bebe's way of haggling you, but she's right. You need to do this Heidi. Not just for yourself but for Kenny."Wendy said
"Ya, see I'm right."Bebe added
Wendy shot her blonde friend a glare but quickly turned back to Heidi.
"Wait what's going?"Nicole asked
"Heidi likes Kenny and vice versa. But she likes someone else as well. But she doesn't want to lead Kenny on so she's trying set boundaries. But she also seems to be procrastinating."Bebe said
"Oooo."Nicole answered.
"Ya, Heidi you really need to do something about that."Red added.
Heidi put her hand up as well as raising her head from the locker.
"Alright, I'll ask Kenny to meet up with me at Starks pond. I'll do it once I get into class. Happy?"Heidi said as she faced Bebe.
Bebe and Wendy looked at each other and nodded.
"You have to tell Kenny everything today. The sooner the better."Wendy said
"Ya, do it after school. No more procrastinating."Bebe said
"What? Today? Really?"Heidi exclaimed
Heidi looked around at her friends. They all had thier brow furrowed. Ready to counter any detests Heidi was planning.
Heidi exhaled.
"I guess...your right. I'll talk to him and tell him everything.."Heidi said
All the girls nodded as the bell rang.
Bebe put a hand on Heidi's shoulder.
"Your time to shine."Bebe said to her friend
Heidi's eyes widened and she began to make her way to class.
Heidi could feel the anxiety build up in her gut. She was hoping that it wouldn't make her gassy. Asking something serious and proceeding to rip ass wouldn't not be the best way to get her message across to Kenny.
Heidi kept her eyes on the ground as she kept track of her steps as she spoke to herself in her thoughts.
"1.2.3"
"What if this it? What if this the beginning of the end for me and Kenny."
"4.5.6"
"How is he gonna react? Will he hate me?"
"7.8.9"
"No, I know Kenny better than that and he knows me better than that. Still...it's one thing to break my heart, it's another to break his at the same time."
"10."
Heidi shut her eyes as she began to anticipate the pain she would bestow on herself and the boy she may be inlove with.
"You got this!"Wendy shouted behind from Heidi
Heidi looked back and saw Wendy along with five of her other friends. Heidi rolled her eyes but still appreciated Wendy's words.
Heidi enter the door that led into her fourth grade class. There he was. In the same orange hoodie, blonde hair, and smile.
Heidi walked to her desk put her things down and took her seat next to Kenny.
"Hey Heid's"Kenny said with a positive energy.
"Hey Ken."Heidi said with a melancholy tone as she looked away from Kenny.
Kenny could pick up on this and decdied to ask.
"You alright? Does this have something to with the what happend on Saturday?"Kenny asked
"Well uuu…"Heidi failed to say.
Kenny was looking at Heidi with a concerned look.
Heidi looked in front of her and noticed her friends looking at her and Kenny out of the corner of their eyes.
Heidi could feel the gaze and the pressure of everything coming down on her.
"Heidi?"Kenny asked
Heidi looked back at Kenny and could feel his concern. His energy was enough to get the weight off of her chest.
Heidi took a breath and looked at Kenny in the eyes.
"Kenny, do you think you could meet me at Starks pond, after school today? We...we have to discuss some things."Heidi said
Kenny was suprised but his answer was obvious.
"Ooo, of course."Kenny said
There was pause.
"Thank you."Heidi responded
Their conversation ended there.
Kenny looked toward Heidi. She maintained the same melancholy facid.
Kenny just hoped whatever was bothering Heidi, was something he could fix.
(Hours later.)
It seemed as if Heidi was saving all the talking to towards the end of the day. She didn't say a word to Kenny. To the point that she actually left without Kenny.
Kenny was now walking to Starks pond and pondering what could be bothering Heidi.
"Is it girl drama?"Kenny thought.
Kenny was pretty sure Heidi wouldn't beat around the bush for that kind of drama. She knew Kenny would invite that kind of juicy stuff.
Was it her family? Kenny had vented but his plenty enough, but had Heidi vented about hers enough to him. Kenny would like to think that she would be willing to tell him such things as he did respect the Turner parents. Although, if something drastic had happened, such as an affair, he could see Heidi becoming pretty down on herself. But Kenny had seen her parents together the last fews. From that, Kenny could deduce that the Turners weren't going out fo thier way to dodge each other for some side action.
Was it...another guy. Was Heidi about to do the same thing she had done to Kyle when she wanted to get back together with Cartman. Kenny gritted his teeth at that thought.
It would be a very Cartman thing to do to try and control Heidi agin. In which case, Kenny might want to consider mixing his fist with Cartman's face. Unlike Kyle, Kenny was willing to fight till the end for Heidi.
What if it wasn't even Cartman? Somebody else entirely? Maybe...just maybe she did take a bit of offense with the gay joke. Maybe Heidi was a bit sexually curious...and maybe the person she may be attracted to isn't even a guy.
Kenny tussled his hair. Whatever was bothering Heidi was giving Kenny a total mind fuck. He neeeded to be in a better place mentally than this for whatever Heidi needed to tell him.
Kenny heard a final crunch in the snow when he looked up to see Heidi sitting on a bench at Starks pond. Her hands folded together. The same beanie laying atop her head.
Kenny swallowed his own and exhaled
"Heidi?"
Boom another chapter closer. Sorry about the cliff hanger. It's not the place I would have liked to stop writing but I didn't want everything to feel too bloated. I'm not the biggest fan of cliff hangers because they are normally terribly placed *cough, cough* Attack on titan season 4 part 1 *cough, cough*(manga readers know what I'm talking about). But I am content with the way I wrote this chapter. There are some fixes I'll do when I go back and adjust things for a rerelease. But besides that we good. It was a bit shorter then most of my recent chapters. Anywhale, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I would appreciate any comments and criticism down below. I hope you all have a nice day( or night based on where you live.)
