Chapter.26
Hey guys, hope you are all doing well. I decided to keep updating this story instead of making a new volume. I landed on this decision as I have set up major plot points for this story prior and are all part of the same arc for characters. So I thought they should all stay in one story instead of having readers hop over to another story that may feel like a lag. Anywhale, I hope you all enjoy the chapter and would consider commenting and critiquing down below. Now onto the new life for our new couple ;)
Kenny shot up from his bead with a huge exhale. He looked around his room and looked for any changes. Kenny looked down and found his shirt doused in sweat.
Kenny was breathing heavily and trying to focus his vision in the low light of the room. He was looking for his backpack. It was of great importance that he found it.
After eyeing out its shape, Kenny jumped from his bed. He stumbled and proceeded to bear crawl over to it like a hungry dog who had fresh meat put in front of him.
After opening the zipper and digging through his papers, he found one very important piece of writing atop one assignment.
It was five letters long and one of the Is in it had a little heart just above it. Kenny let a noticeable exhale and proceeded to smile to himself.
After putting the article of paper back in his backpack, Kenny made his way back to his head which he proceeded to collapse onto.
Kenny faced toward the ceiling and began to think to himself.
"So it would seem that everything with Heidi happened to a point….but how far? Are we a thing or did death take that from me. It's funny. I can't remember dying but all of it doesn't seem real."Kenny thought
Kenny's eyes grew heavy.
"Regardless, I still have something with her."
Kenny shit his eyes.
"Something worth fighting for."Kenny thought to himself before fading into sleep.
(Hours later.)
Kenny awoke to the feeling of his bed shaking. Kenny shot up to see his little sister against his bed.
"Cmon Kenny! We are gonna miss the bus."Karen said
"Shit. Sorry Kare."Kenny responded
Kenny got up and ran to the bathroom to make sure that he at least looked presentable. He quickly applied a little bit of cologne in the form of a sample bottle he got from the South Park mall.
After making sure that he didn't have a serious case of bed head, Kenny ran back to his room to make sure he had everything.
Kenny then swung his backpack over his shoulder and made haste to the door where he found his sister waiting for him.
Upon meeting his sister, he gave her a goofy grin.
"Sorry, had kind of a weird night last night."Kenny said as he put his hand behind his head.
The McCormick siblings began walking as Karen continued the conversation.
"No kidding. When I got home, you weren't home. And I heard someone come down the hall late last night. I'm guessing that was you."Karen said
"Ya, just had some business to take care of."Kenny replied, knowing that it was a bit more serious than just business.
"Was it Heidi?"Karen asked
Kenny blushed a bit.
"Kind of…"Kenny trailed off.
Kenny was being a bit dodgy with Karen as he was still a bit uncertain if all the progress he had made had been reversed to any extent.
Karen didn't normally appreciate her brother dodging and being ambiguous with information. She always wanted to know the truth. Especially when it came to her brother.
She decided to back off. Maybe Kenny wanted to surprise with his new relationship with Heidi.
In Kenny's mind, he needed to know more. It seemed like everything had gone smoothly and nothing was reset. But still. Kenny couldn't believe it was real.
Real that he had actually ended up with the girl he was in love with. And that his death hadn't undid it all.
It felt weird. Unnatural for Kenny to actually win something he had desperately wanted.
Regardless, Kenny still held his breath in hopes that the reality was living in now was the one where he found himself victorious.
Kenny looked on into the distance to see the colors and shapes that compromised his friends. It looked like Kenny and Karen had made it before the bus with a little time to spare.
The siblings walked up and took their places whilst saying thier greetings. Karen made sure that her hello to Cartman was no different than that of Kenny's other friends.
"So...how'd it go?"Kyle asked while looking at Kenny.
Kenny looked at his Jewish friend with a confused look.
"What?"Kenny questioned
"How'd it go? Do you and "her" resolve and talk about your issues? See what you did wrong?"Kyle asked again. This time with more detail.
Kenny assumed Kyle using an ambiguous pronoun was meant to keep a certain girl's identity secret in the presence of a certain fat ass.
Upon realizing what Kyle was asking, Kenny could piece together what was going on. It looked like death had evaded Kenny. Based on the evidence he had from Karen, Kyle, and a certain piece of paper.
There was only one way to confirm Kenny theory. That would be to see Heidi and see how she reacts to him.
Still, couldn't help but smile. He actually seemed to be gaining good ground in a battle he always seemed to be losing. It made him begin to laugh.
"Bwahahhahaha."Kenny began to cackle.
All of his friends began to look at Kenny in a confused way. They all proceeded to look at each other.
Karen developed a concerned look. After all, who wouldn't be concerned when their beloved sibling began to laugh out of nowhere like some sort of maniac.
"Ummm...Kenny?"Kyle asked
Kenny stopped laughing and looked at Kyle.
"Get over here you hebrew genius."Kenny said as he pulled Kyle into a hug.
Kyle, who was confused and caught off guard by this, was trying to break Kenny's hold on him.
"Kenny! Chill out!"Kyle said
Cartman looked at Stan. Stan looked back.
"See, trying to take your boyfriend."Cartman said
Stan furrowed his brow.
"Shut up."Stan replied
After breaking Kenny's lock on him, Kyle adjusted himself and gave Kenny a quick look.
"What does that mean?"Kyle asked.
"It means thank you."Kenny replied
Kyle still had a confused look plastered to his face. What the fuck could get Kenny so randomly happy?
Based on his own experiences with Kenny, drugs and being with a certain someone always brought a certain happiness to Kenny.
Seeing as Kenny had backed off of drugs, it would seem that Kenny finally did what needed to be done.
After putting the pieces together, Kyle's face changed from confusion to surprise.
"Wait...does that mean-
"Yep!"Kenny said as he cut Kyle off.
Kyle's expression turned into a smile.
"Well, I'm happy for you man."Kyle said
Although the words that left Kyle's mouth were true, he couldn't help but feel a little twinge of jealousy. It was a similar twinge that came over Kyle when Cartman managed to get back with Heidi.
But unlike that one, it quickly faded away. Maybe it was because Kyle had gotten better at stuffing away his emotions that got in the way of his life. Or maybe it was because he trusted Kenny. Probably just as much as he trusted Stan.
Even with all that considered, it still hurts. Still hurt to always be the one watching somebody else be happy while your attempts continue to be futile. With someone you genuinely liked no less.
"Thanks bro. It means a lot."Kenny said while giving a thumbs up.
Kyle kept the smile on his face, even despite his own emotions, he was still happy for his friend.
Kenny proceeded to walk for a few steps and tussle Ike's hair.
Ike raised a brow and looked at his brother. Kyle remained smiling and just shrugged his shoulders at his little brother.
Kenny then did a quick spin move to avoid contact with Cartman.
Kenny was pretty sure he would die if he tried to hug Cartman. As well as the fact that Kenny was dating his ex-girlfriend.
He instead proceeded to give Stan a big hug. Stan decided to embrace the hug unlike Kyle.
Stan made an awkward smile. He was unsure what what made Kenny do affectionate but just rolled with it.
After breaking up his hug with Stan, Kenny skipped (yes, skipped) back to respective position with glee.
Karen still remained concerned. When Kenny had gotten back to his spot, Karen grabbed her brothers hand.
This caught Kenny's attention and he looked down to see his sisters face with a loathsome expression attached to it.
How could Kenny forget. Forget to involve his sister in this line of affection he was delivering.
Kenny proceeded to pick his sister up and ensnare her in a big hug. Karen's expression changed through out this.
From concerned to shocked to confused to happiness.
Normally it was Kenny always trying to make others happy and smile. It always made Karen feel bad that her brother couldn't help get the happiness he had always been so kind as to bestow on others.
Karen couldn't help but smile as her brother did as well.
The bus finally arrived as the two siblings embraced.
"Poor people are fuckin weird dude."Cartman remarked as he entered the bus.
It was the same ride as usual. Cartman teasing Kyle or butters. Stan and/or butters breaking sit up before Kyle punched him in the Cartman in the face.
But there was one thing that was a little out of place. Kenny was normally ju staring out the window, trying to do homework, or trying to catch up on sleep.
This time, he just leaned his head up against the window and smiled as he looked on at the town he called home.
It all seemed like some sort of dream. It was falling into place without a hitch. He was actually with Heidi.
But Kenny was trying to keep for getting overly excited and wanted to remain calm and smart. Although it seemed unlikely, there could be an off chance that Kenny was wrong so he needed to be smart.
After arriving at school and stepping off the bus, Kenny looked around. If he could 100 percent confirm that he was living in the reality where he gets to be with Heidi, then he would need to find her. Kenny began to walk off from his friends and Karen,
"Kenny?"Karen asked
Kenny was walking farther away. He was having a hard time spotting Heidi's iconic look.
"She has to be here somewhere. She has to."Kenny said to himself.
"Kenny?"Karen said again.
Kenny was oblivious to her call outs. Still hoping to spot Heidi.
"Kenny!"Karen exclaimed.
Kenny gritted his teeth. He didn't want to seem like he was avoiding his sister. But he needed to find Heidi. Kenny had to see her. Even if it meant that he wasn't with her and that last night had never happened.
Kenny decided to turn around and tell Karen now wasn't the time. But after he turned around and made eye contact with Karen and tried to spew something out of his mouth to say to her, a pair of hands covered his eyes.
Kenny would normally try to deliver a kidney shot to someone's gut when someone tried to sneak up from behind him and blind him. But the hands that were covering his eyes felt gentle and smooth. Not threatening in anyway.
Kenny grabbed the eyes with his own in a gentle motion. He felt these hands before.
Kenny developed a smile. Kenny undid the hands and spun them around to meet their owner. Upon seeing her face, Kenny continued to hold Heidi's hands.
"Hello you."Heidi said with a certain gentleness.
Kenny grinned.
"Hey."Kenny said in a goofy way.
After which, Heidi brought her self into Kenny and put her lips into Kenny's.
After a few seconds, they broke it apart and smiled at one another.
It was so incredibly new to both of them. They need a few seconds afterward to make sure what they did was real.
Kenny held Heidi close and put his forehead against hers and smiled. Heidi's face mirrored Kenny's.
"Whhhhuuuu…."Karen said with her bottom jaw hanging down.
Kenny and Heidi turned to Karen. They broke the hug but still held hands.
Neither one said anything. The only reply was that was given was Heidi giving a nod to Karen.
Karen closed her mouth as well as her eyes. Upon opening her eyes she began to run towards Kenny and Heidi and every ally clutched both of their arms. This broke apart Kenny and Heidi's hands but neither was bothered by Karen's action.
"Want us to take you to class?"Heidi asked.
"Yes please."Karen said with a smile plastered to her face.
The new couple walked toward Karen's class with a hand of Karen's in each of theirs.
Little did they know that Kenny's friend had watched the entire interaction.
"Wow. Good for Kenny."Stan said
"Ya. I'm happy for them."Kyle added
"Are you sure?"Stan asked
"Yes. He makes her happy and vise versa. For a true friend, that's all that should matter."Kyle responded
"Alright."
Kyle and Stan then looked to Cartman.
Cartman simply looked at both of the boys and shrugged. Cartman began walking to his locker.
Stan and Kyle just shrugged and followed suit.
Meanwhile, Kenny and Heidi were guiding to Karen to her class(which she knew how to get to by the way).
Karen had both of their arms locked in hers and had a smile adorning her face. From time to time, Heidi would look down to see the young girl smiling making her smile in return and would see doing the same.
Finally, the trio arrived at Karen's class.
"Have fun in class today Karen."Heidi said
Karen nodded and gave Heidi a hug. Heidi returned it.
Afterward, Karen gave her brother a hug.
"I'm so happy. You did it Kenny."Karen told her brother.
"Ya, guess I did. Have a good Kare. And let me know if you need anything."Kenny said
Karen nodded and broke the hug.
After Karen had left the couple, the original locked their hands back together. And made their way to Heidi's locker.
Although he had no problem walking Karen to her locker, Kenny would be lying if he didn't want to spend his first day dating Heidi with just...well Heidi.
After all, the undoing of all this was a likely possibility. He wanted to hold onto what he had gotten and never let go.
Kenny would look toward Heidi as they walked. She would notice his glance and smile. This made Kenny's body tingle from the top of his head to the soles of his feet.
Little did Kenny know that he was doing the same to Heidi. Every time he glanced, every time he fixed his grip on her hand, Heidi had an overflow of emotion through her body. It was almost like a high to her.
And Heidi couldn't lie, it was getting addicted.
It had gotten to the point that she didn't notice her friends near her locker. She was so fixated on her new relationship that the world outside of them didn't even seem to exist.
Kenny stopped walking which brought Heidi back to reality.
"I need to grab some stuff from my locker. I'll see you in class, alright?"Kenny said
Heidi smiled and nodded.
"Alright."Heidi said with a smile.
Kenny and Heidi broke their lock on each other's hands. After which, Kenny and Heidi proceeded to lock each other in a hug. Kenny and Heidi then had a bit of a dummy moment.
Hugging was great and all but they can hug anyone. There's something special that you should only be doing with your partner. Well...at least most people.
The pair broke the hug and they met each other's lips with their own.
After a few seconds, they pull apart from each other.
Both Heidi and Kenny smile, still not believing that this is reality.
But alas, Kenny had to get his stuff for class and Heidi had some stuff to address with her fitness who were feet away. Kenny turned and slowly made his way away from Heidi but not before laying a kiss on her head.
Heidi smiled and let Kenny go his way.
After turning away from Kenny, Heidi looked toward her friends who were looking right back at her. They all had a smile.
Heidi just continued to her locker and began to to grab her things from it.
All fo her friends began to look at each other. It appeared that Heidi was going to spill the details on her own mind.
"Are you seriously not gonna act like we didn't just see all of that?"Bebe said
Heidi peered from her locker and rolled her eyes.
"So how did you decide to go with Kenny versus the other guy?"Wendy asked
"Well...the other guy. He wasn't the guy. And it wasn't real enough to him. But it was real to Kenny…And that's what I needed...something real...ya know."Heidi responded
"So you aren't double timing?"Bebe chimed in.
Both Heidi and Wendy(and some their other friends.) rolled their eyes.
"No, Bebe. I'm not double timing. It's just me and Kenny. The other guy is gone."Heidi responded
"Well, hopefully he's not too gone. I would take a shot at him if he's cute enough."Bebe added
"Tsshhh you'd date anyone."Nicole said which caused the group to giggle except for Bebe.
Meanwhile, Kenny had arrived at his locker where all of his friends were confirming his new relationship with Heidi.
"So…Are you and Heidi..."Stan hesitated knowing that Kyle and Cartman both had a history with Heidi and didn't want to upset either of them.
Kenny nodded in response.
Kyle gave Stan the okay and Cartman didn't seem to be paying attention to them.
"Congrats Kenny...I'm happy for you bro."Stan said
"Thanks man. And thanks again Kyle. If it weren't for you, I don't think I would have gotten this far."Kenny said
"Ya, no problem."Kyle responded.
Kyle, who was happy for his friend, still felt a twinge if something else inside him.
"Tsskk."Cartman let out from his locker
The boys paused and looked towards Cartman who was hidden behind his locker door.
The boys waited for Cartman to say something but he remained silent.
Kenny knew that he would eventually have to deal with cartman. And the sooner the better.
"What is it?"Kenny said to Cartman
Cartman ushered no response.
The lack of cooperation made Kenny grit his teeth and furrow his brow. He wasn't gonna give Cartman any room to be smart ass or be snide. He needed to non this in the butt.
Kenny began to walk toward cartman's direction.
"Ken, you don't need to-
"You got something to say fatass? Well, I'm right here."Kenny said after cutting off Stan who was trying to halt the interaction.
Cartman drew his face from behind his locker. A look of confusion adorned his face.
"Butters sent me meme. It was funny."Cartman finally said
Kenny, who felt a bit stupid and a bit too rash, was beginning to develop a look of confusion.
Stan blew a mental sigh of relief as he really didn't want to deal with beef this early in the day.
"It wasn't as funny as that new whore of yours and how quick she is to show someone her cooch. Tell me Kenny, have you seen it yet? I'll be honest "Cartman said
"Ooo god dammit."Stan thought to himself
"Listen here Cartman and listen well. I don't give a fuck what you think. And personally, I wish I did. But you are such douche licking cum twat, that you'll find a way to make me. And I swear to god, if Heidi is involved in that any way, shape or form, I will fucking destroy you. Even if it fucking kills me. Do you understand?"Kenny said. The tone of Kenny's voice began to change more to the tone of Mysterion.
Cartman snickered a bit. This aggravated Kenny. But he kept his cool as to not play make scene.
"Ooo Kenny, you are already dead."Cartman responded with a sinister look in his eye.
Before Kenny could even think of a response, the bell for class rang.
"Welp, I don't know about you guys but I think I'm ready to learn."Stan said as he began to walk away from his friends.
Kyle followed behind. Kenny turned away from Cartman and grabbed his things from his locker.
Kenny locked his locker and looked back to Cartman who was till by his own locker. Cartman was till heavily fixated on his phone.
Kenny looked down toward the floor of the school and back at Cartman.
A few words came back to Kenny's head. Words that weren't spoken that long ago by Cartman himself.
And seeing as he would be the only person that would remember them, maybe they would resonate.
"Ya know Cartman, when you asked what happened to all of us. Well, it was never us. It was you. Always fuckin you man."Kenny said before turning away to walk to class.
Cartman looked toward Kenny and spoke no words.
He then turned his attention back to his phone.
On it read a text that was typed out by Cartman.
"We need to move on this thing now."It read
Cartman sent the text. He received a text a few seconds later.
"Are you sure? Somethings still aren't ready. You still don't have the bait."the new text read.
Cartman smirked to himself.
"Don't worry, it will all fall into place."Cartman's typed
Ooooo vey another chapter done. Didn't have a a lot of time to write these past few weeks. I will be going back to schoo so the rate at which I can publish chapters may slow down.
