"Hey Kara," Alex said as she made her way through the door and set food down on the counter. She went over and hugged Kara as Maggie came through the door a few seconds later and hugged Kara as well.

"Hey thanks for picking up the food," Kara said as Alex nodded her head.

"Is Lena here yet?" Maggie asked as she looked around the room.

"No, she texted me a little bit ago. She got caught up in a meeting, but she should be here soon," Kara said.

"Okay good. How are you two doing?" Alex asked as she grabbed a glass of water and sat down.

"Okay. It's hard somedays. We have been trying to stay at each other's places like once or twice a week just to ease back into things," Kara said.

"I think it's probably a good idea," Maggie said as Kara nodded her head.

"It is. It's been an adjustment. You know we are both just stressed with work and everything so that doesn't help. This last week especially we have just been really short with each other," Kara said.

"I mean that is going to happen in every relationship. I know it's probably a little harder given everything you two have gone through the past few years. You know Maggie and I were thinking about going to see mom for a weekend. Maybe you and Lena should come up with us. It might be nice for you two to get away from the city and just have a weekend to relax," Alex suggested.

"Yeah, that could be nice. I will run it by Lena. I guess I should probably tell Eliza we are back together," Kara said as Maggie laughed.

"Little Danvers, you haven't told her," Maggie said.

"No! I have been busy. We have only been back together for like a month or two. Eliza knew she was back in town. I just didn't get around to telling her the part about us," Kara said trying to defend herself as the door opened up and Lena walked in.

"Hey, sorry I was running late," Lena said as she hugged Maggie and Alex.

"No worries. We just got over here a few minutes ago," Alex said as she started pulling the food out. Lena went over and kissed Kara quickly before setting her bag down on the counter.

"Hey so how would you feel about going up to Midvale next weekend? Alex and Maggie are going up and they suggested we go up as well. I understand if you have too much work or anything like that," Kara said as Lena sat next to her at the table.

"I should be able to clear my schedule for a few days," Lena said as Kara looked at her.

"I am sensing there is a but…do you not want to go?" Kara asked seeing Lena looked hesitant.

"No of course I do. I love going up to Midvale. It's just…I haven't talked to Eliza since I left and I'm not sure she is my biggest fan right now," Lena said as she took a bite of her food.

"Hey, my mom loves you Lena you know that. No matter what happened between you and Kara. Plus, you sort of saved her life," Alex said.

"Well, she doesn't know that I did that. I don't think I should tell her that," Lena said.

"Yeah, I agree. I don't want her to know about that," Kara said. "Alex is right though. She does love you. I am sure she would be really happy to see you," Kara said as Lena nodded her head.

"Alright it's settled then. We will all go up," Maggie said as they all started to eat. Alex and Maggie stayed for a few hours and left after watching a movie. Kara closed the door as they walked out and turned back around to Lena.

"Did you want to spend the night?" Kara asked.

"Sure, I would love to. I'm just going to go take a shower and change into some different clothes," Lena said as she made her way to the bathroom. Kara pulled her phone out and dialed Eliza's number.

"Hey honey," Eliza said as she answered her phone.

"Hey how are you?" Kara asked.

"I'm doing good. What's been going on with you?" Eliza asked.

"Well, I was talking to Alex and Maggie, and they mentioned coming up to see you next weekend. I wanted to see if you had room for two more," Kara said.

"Two? Are you and Lena back together?" Eliza asked.

"What? How did you know?" Kara asked.

"It was just the way you mentioned her name when we were talking last time. I just guessed," Eliza said as she laughed quietly. "I would love it if you two came up. How are you doing with all that?" Eliza asked.

"We are taking it week by week. I am not going to lie it hasn't been easy. There are still a lot of hurt feelings and stuff. It's been stressful this week and I just thought it might be good to get away from work for a few days and leave the city," Kara said.

"Of course. It should be fun having all my girls together," Eliza said.

"I can't wait," Kara responded. They talked for a few minutes before Kara hung up. She turned her head seeing Lena walk into the main room dressed in sweats. She made her way over to the couch and snuggled up next to Kara. "Eliza seemed excited about us coming up," Kara said as she kissed Lena's head.

"Good. I really missed seeing her," Lena said. "I think that was the hardest part about leaving was not getting to see everyone all the time," Lena continued.

"Well, they all missed you. I know I missed you," Kara said as Lena looked up at her.

"I missed you too," Lena said as she kissed Kara and laid her head back down on Kara's shoulder.

*A Week Later*

Alex pulled the car up to the house as Eliza came outside and started to hug the girls as they got out of the car. Eliza stopped when she got to Lena. She saw Lena hold her breath before she pulled her into a hug.

"I missed you honey," Eliza said as Lena nodded her head.

"I missed you too," Lena said as the two pulled back from the hug. Eliza helped grabbed some bags and got them into the house. Lena and Kara took their bags to the room they were staying in. Kara set the bags down and turned around as she saw Lena smiling. She wrapped her arms around her.

"What are you thinking about?" Kara asked.

"I'm just happy to be here. I forgot how much I loved coming to Midvale. It just feels like home you know," Lena said.

"I know what you mean. Even when I first got here this place just always gave me a sense of peace. When I first moved to the city it was so loud all the time and I used to just come back here sometimes to get away from all the noise," Kara said as Lena nodded her head.

"Let's get back out there," Lena said as she kissed Kara before heading back out into the main room. Eliza was getting food ready as the two walked in.

"Want some help?" Kara asked as Eliza nodded her head.

"Sure honey. Why don't you grab the plates and stuff and set the table outside," Eliza said as Kara nodded her head and went outside leaving Lena alone with Eliza. Lena shifted uncomfortably before clearing her throat.

"Umm I just wanted to apologize. I'm sure you aren't too happy with me for everything that happened," Lena said as Eliza stopped what she was doing and turned towards Lena.

"Lena, I don't hold any feelings against you for the choices you made. I love you like one of my daughters. Regardless of what happens with you and Kara I will always be here for you. All I want is for you to be happy," Eliza said as Lena nodded her head. Eliza pulled her in for a hug before pulling back.

"Alright what can I help with?" Lena asked.

"Why don't you cut up some cucumbers for the salad," Eliza said as Lena nodded her head and went over to the counter.

"Hey," Eliza said as she came out to the deck and sat down on a chair next to Kara's. It was a clear night out and Kara wanted to take a few minutes to look up at the stars.

"Hey," Kara said quietly as she continued to look up at the sky. They sat in silence for a few minutes before Kara spoke.

"I miss them," Kara admitted as she turned and looked at Eliza.

"I know you do sweetie," Eliza said as she reached over and grabbed Kara's hand. "You know some nights I just come out here and sit and think about Jeremiah. Where he might be. It's hard," Eliza said as Kara nodded her head.

"I wish they could all be here you know. I wish you all could have met," Kara said as she looked back up. "Thank you," Kara said looking back at Eliza.

"For what?" Eliza asked.

"For always treating me like I was your daughter. For always making this place feel like a home. For accepting Maggie and Lena into the family the way you did. For all of it," Kara said.

"Kara you are my daughter. You were from the moment I first saw you. When Jeremiah left it was really hard, but you and Alex kept me going. Lena and Maggie came around and filled in some of the holes I felt in my heart," Eliza said as Kara nodded. They sat for a few more minutes before Kara stood up.

"I should get back in there. Lena is probably done with her shower, and I am getting tired," Kara said as Eliza nodded her head. "I love you," Kara said hugging Eliza.

"I love you too," Eliza responded as they both made their way inside. Kara made her way to the bedroom and smiled seeing Lena in bed reading.

"Hey how was you shower?" Kara asked as she grabbed some pajamas from her suitcase.

"Good," Lena responded looking up from her book.

"I'm just going to change and brush my teeth," Kara said as she made her way into the bathroom. She came out a few minutes later as Lena set her book down on the counter and opened her arms up for Kara to cuddle with her. Kara happily got into bed and snuggled into Lena's side. Lena kissed Kara's head before laying her head down. Lena eventually heard Kara's breathing even out and fell asleep a few minutes later.

Kara shot up in bed looking around. She saw the clock and noticed it was close to 3am as she tried to lay back down. She felt Lena moving next to her and quietly got out of bed not wanting to wake her. She made her way to the kitchen and opened the door to the deck. She made her way down to the sand and sat on the beach just listening to the sound of waves coming into shore. She sat for a few minutes before making her way back inside. She got back into bed and laid down as Lena sat up slightly.

"You okay?" Lena asked as Kara laid next to her.

"I'm okay just needed to get some air," Kara said as Lena laid her head back down.

"Bad dream?" Lena asked as she wrapped up Kara in her arms.

"I guess," Kara said.

"Kara, I can feel you shaking. Do you want to talk about it?" Lena asked as she looked at Kara.

"Midvale is one of my favorite places but it's also a place that brings up a lot of old memories. I guess I sometimes just think about my past a lot when I'm here. This is where I found a new family but it's also the place I came to when I first got to Earth. It's the place where I grieved what I had lost so it's just hard sometimes," Kara said as Lena nodded her head.

"I'm sure it is," Lena said as she waited to see if Kara would continue.

"I just…tonight was one of those nights where I missed my parents more than I normally do. It just hit me all of a sudden," Kara said as she felt Lena grab her a little bit tighter.

"Grief comes in waves. There are somedays where I miss my mom and just wish she could be here you know," Lena said.

"I wish I could have met her," Kara said as Lena smiled sadly.

"She would have loved you," Lena said as she kissed Kara. Lena was silent for a few minutes knowing Kara was still awake she cleared her throat. "You know I have never been able to go back to Ireland. I mean I haven't been there since my mom died," Lena said as she felt Kara squeeze her hand. "I want to at some point…I am just…," Lena trailed off.

"Scared," Kara said as she watched Lena nod her head. "If and when you think you are ready to go back let me know. I would love to go with you and see where you came from," Kara said as she wiped a tear that came down from Lena's eyes.

"I love you," Lena said as she fell back into silence.

"I love you too," Kara said as she kissed Lena's head before closing her eyes.

"Hey, I thought I might find you out here," Alex said as she made her way through the clearing and laid down next to Kara who was looking up at the sky.

"How did you know I was out here," Kara said as she looked over at Alex.

"I couldn't sleep, and I heard you get up. When you didn't come back after a few minutes I just assumed you would come out to this spot," Alex said as Kara nodded her head.

"I guess some things never change," Kara said as Alex smiled at her. "I remember the first time you brought me out here," Kara said.

"I will never forget that night. I just wanted you to feel safe so I thought maybe if I brought you out to my special place you might feel a little more at home…or as at home as you could have felt," Alex said as she looked over at her sister.

"It meant more to me than you will ever know. It's crazy to think back to when I first got here. That feeling I always had that I would never feel at home again. You kept chipping away though and eventually it started to feel like home…it feels like home when I am with you," Kara responded.

"I know what you mean. Do you remember the night of dad's funeral? We came back from the cemetery and we just all sat in silence for so long. Mom finally got us to talk and forced us to eat food," Alex said with a sad smile. "We didn't want to sit at the table and eat without him…it didn't feel right. So, I suggested we all come out here and eat together," Alex said as she felt Kara grab her hand.

"It was the first time all three of us had come out here together. I know how devastated we all felt in that moment but being there with both of you and being able to look up at the sky and know my parents were there with Jeremiah was comforting in a way," Kara said as Alex nodded her head.

"God, I just miss him so much," Alex said as a few tears fell from her eyes. "I just wish he could have met Maggie and Lena. I know he would have loved them. He would have been so proud of you and everything you have done," Alex said.

"He would have been proud of you as well. Everything we have done in our lives. What we have accomplished. Who we have become," Kara explained. "I know he lives on in us and everything we do," Kara said.

"Just like your parents, Lena's mom, and J'onn's family. We remember them by actions and carrying their legacy in the choice we make. I think how unfair it is for all of us to lost what we have lost. It helps a little to know all that we have gained along the way as well," Alex said.

"Makes the hurt a little less. It will always be there but it's not quite as painful as it used to be," Kara said as the two fell into a calm silence. Both of them staring up into the sky as the sun began to rise. "We should probably head back in," Kara said as the two stood up and made their way back to the house. They found Eliza sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee. They made their way over and sat on the couch next to her.

"How long have you been up for?" Alex asked as she pulled her feet up towards her.

"Just a few minutes. I knew you girls were out at the spot. Figured I would come out and watch the sunrise," Eliza said.

"How do you always know when we are out there?" Kara asked as Eliza laughed.

"Mother intuition," Eliza responded as Alex and Kara smiled.

They fell into silence as they watched the sunrise over the water. It was quite and calm. Just like all those years ago when they sat in the same position in what was one of the worse days of their lives, they sat now with a sense of hope they never knew they would find.
