The bell rang, singling the end of classes for the day, and Allan, having already packed his stuff, walked out of the door. Today was Tuesday, exactly 1 week since he got the Ghostricks and finally time to go to the after school dueling club that got skipped last week on account of the weather.
It didn't take him to long to get to the art room that was used for it (apparently the Library can have a whole section dedicated to a card game but the Gym can't have a duel field in it), only a couple minutes, but when he got there, something was off... normally due to not having a class in it during the last period of the day, the door was closed and locked until Mrs. Ketto came in an unlocked it, this time it was open a jar. He started slowly pushing the door open and felt some resistance. 'The Custodians do everything they can to keep everything in top shape.' He thought to himself, 'There is something off about this.' He made sure he was a step back from the door and gave it a shove to open it the rest of the way. And with a resounding "Clang!" a bucket full of water hit the floor in the exact spot Allan would have been if he kept going forward as he walked, prompting the motion lights to turn on at that time. 'Again?' Allan thought before speaking up, "Alright, who decided to try and get someone with that prank?"
There was some murmur from everyone still in the hallway on there way to the buses, or just on their way home, mostly a mix of "Beats me." Telling Allan that it was likely not anyone there, and as he walked in he noticed that the room was devoid of anyone else in it, but with no other way in or out (besides that fire exit that would have set off an alarm if someone used it) that would normally be impossible as the prank would require the person to be inside to set up and block off the only way out.
Stein showed up at Allan's right side and said "I swear it wasn't me or any other Ghostrick, you made it clear why that trick wasn't allowed with water buckets." He stated, referring to when Allan told them about his rules and what may happen if the bucket doesn't fully empty itself before it hit's the victim's head.
"That can be a little hard to believe." Allan said in a quieter voice as he went to grab some paper towels from the classroom sink, "As it seems like the ability to walk through walls is necessary to get out of here without setting the trap off on the way out."
Stein shrugged at that as Allan started trying to mop up the mess caused by the water spill, then something occurred to him "Well, that have been a few other instances of pranks happening that none of us knew about. Maybe there are some other prank loving duel spirits around we never saw?"
"Then please go look for them and explain to them why this is dangerous." Allan replied.
Stein shrugged once again and said "Okay." before leaving the room.
It took a few more minutes before the club got started, Mrs. Ketto came in and (after Allan told her what happened) asked Allan to stop trying to mop up the mess with paper towels, there was something better for the job. Then everyone else started coming in, including Tim and a new face, the girl he mentioned before.
"Thanks again for showing me those books to help her out." Tim said.
"No Prob." Allan replied with a smile as he turned to the new girl, Lucy, "Did you find a deck you wanted to try out."
"Yep." Lucy replied, "Though I don't have the cards for it yet, I asked my dad for help, but they haven't come in yet."
"Well, in the meantime we got loaner decks for you to try." Tim said as got up, "Here, I'll help you pick one." He then added as he walked toward the case of loaner decks Mrs. Ketto brought in.
"Oh, thank you." Lucy said as she also got up to follow him.
"Yo! Allan." Came another voice, as Allan turned to see another frequent visitor of the dueling club, though Allan could not remember this guy's name. "Know what someone means when they call somebody a Mystic?"
Allan froze a little bit at that before asking, "Why?"
"Overheard the term from the TV when my parents were watching the news last night." He replied, "It sounded like something supernatural based, so I figured you would know what it meant considering all those books you read between duels here."
Allan did know what the term meant, but it wasn't from a book and It hasn't even been a full 24 hours since he did learn it. "It means that person has a deeper connection to the supernatural side of the Duel monster's game then most others. Usually brought in by a magical object or being chosen by some higher power, a Mystic is someone who has some sort of Magical power that is related to the game."
"Like being able to see duel spirits." The guy asked.
"I don't think so." Allan reasoned, thinking that the Ghostricks wouldn't have been surprised at him being a mystic is seeing duel spirits was something only Mystics could do. "More like, starting up some sort of magical duel when your life is threatened so that bullets can't hurt you until you are beat in the duel."
"Oh, Okay. Makes since, the news did say something about a duel when talking about the Mystic." The guy said. "Thanks."
"No Prob." Allan said automatically, as there really shouldn't have been a problem with answering that question. So why did he still feel like there was?
"And where back." Tim said coming back with Lucy. "You feeling up for a duel?"
"Against you or Lucy?" Allan commented, "Keep in ind that my deck can be annoying to go up against."
"I'll face you first, with Lucy watching." Tim started.
"And then I decide which one of you two to face with the loaner deck after that." Lucy added.
Allan shrugged, commenting with an "Okay."
"Oh, and before I forget." Tim said before pulling something out of his backpack, "Here's an early birthday present for you." he then handed Allan three cards that were all contained in a (stretched out) card sleeve. "Something tells me you'll like it."
Pulling the cards out of the sleeve (the backs were on the clear side so Allan couldn't see what it was right away) Allan took a peak at the cards and his eyes widened. Before him were three copies of 'Ghostrick Angel of Mischief'. "Oh Yeah, this is a must have for my deck."
Tim smirked, "And now you get a chance to try it out. Lets go." he said as he put his play-mat down and sat his deck on the designated Deck Zone.

There wasn't anything else extraordinary that happened that week, most noteworthy thing to Allan that happened was the school counselor asking to see him Thursday afternoon after classes. Apparently his parents did in fact contact the school and ask them to see if something like therapy would be necessary for him after what happened on Monday... Based off of how things went, Allan suspected that he would be staying after on Thursdays more often from now on, though with perhaps a specialist instead of the counselor he got that week.
However, while nothing particular happened to Allan for the rest of the week, it was a bit of a different story for the Ghostricks.
"Seriously? He's suspecting we did that?" Witch asked.
"I guess it makes since." Dullahan stated, "I saw that room and without intangibility you can't really pull that prank and get out of there without setting off an alarm. And we are the only ones with those abilities that he is aware of."
"I tried to search around for anyone else, but so far nothing." Stein commented.
"Ugh." Witch groaned, "You should have came to us sooner, if all of us looked, there is no way the perp could hide."
"Agreed," Mary said from the window, "Once we get back to the school tomorrow we should split up and start hunting down the culprit. At the very least so Allan won't get on our case on any more pranks they do."
"I call a team that lets me nap through the search." Socuteboss said.
"Not gonna happen." Alucard replied, "And we will probably have to do more then just find the culprit."
Doll tilted her head, "Why is that?"
"Sunday night, he went out to find where more of us were, and got into a sort of shadow game for his troubles." Alucard began, "And then Monday, he got shot at because he wouldn't drop the packs that held the cards some of us were connected to."
Nekomusume figured out what Alucard was getting to, "You think he will hold us accountable for the threats to his life, that we are to owe him anything?"
"That's not right. It's not like we are the ones that put him in danger, the danger just came to him without us being able to do anything about it." Jackfrost shouted.
Alucard put a hand up to stop Jackfrost from saying more, "I know that, and Allan dose too... but it been made clear to me that even if Allan repeats the logic to himself, it is no guarantee that the less-logical part of every human mind would find someway to have Allan at least subconsciously tie the danger to us... he is just a kid after all, even by human standards, listening to logic can he hard."
Warwolf put a hand to his chin in thought, "Okay, I can see that... but what dose it have to do with making him aware that we aren't the ones setting up those non-allowed pranks?"
"Well, lets say that maybe in the future, he finds himself as the unfortunate victim of another one of their pranks, but unlike Tuesday, isn't able to get himself out of it and winds up hurt." Alucard says, "If that happens, and he knew that we know who set it up but didn't try anything to get them to stop..."
A moment of silence fell the group as they realized what Alucard was getting at. Then Yuki-onna spoke up and finally finished the thought, "It would put us in ever worse light to his eyes, and make him wonder why he even bothers keeping us around."
"And as the one with our cards," Dullahan continued, "It wouldn't be hard for him to create a situation similar to what separated us all before... if not worse since he's a Mystic."
Yeti then held onto to Yuki-onna, bringing her close to his body as he said, "I'd rather not risk everyone getting separated again, especially not so soon after so many of us came back together again."
No one really had anything to add to that... so they made their decision and the next morning, as Allan went to finish off school for that week, they would set out to to find the source of the pranks.

Nekomusume poked her head up through the back wall of the classroom she starts scanning, trying her best to avoid making a sound as she dashed from cover to cover while making her way to the front.
"What are you doing?" Yuki-onna asked the fellow female duel spirit as she just floated to her position.
"Being stealthy. Full classroom. I don't want to let everyone know I am here." Came the reply.
"These people literally cannot see nor hear us." Yuki-onna stated as she waved her hand in front of a random student's face. Proving her point when the student had no reaction. "It is completely unneeded."
"Yeah, but it is a lot more fun to do it this way." Nekomusume replied without changing her approach. In one more leap, she got herself to be right underneath the Teacher's decks, and then quickly cat-climbed to the top with a big smile on her face before seeing Jackfrost was already there.
"Already looked, nothing here."
"Darn it!"
"Umm, I think I hear some voices coming from the teachers lounge." Yeti commented from the doorway.
"Okay, Let's go!" Nekomusume said before getting on all 4s again "Stealth mode" she then added as she 'steathfully' made her way out of the room.
Yuki-onna gave a small face-palm at the cat girls antics, but not without a smile on her face.
"I guess to be fair, if it is other duel spirits, being sneaky to catch them in the act may be a good thing." Jackfrost stated.
"True." Yuki-onna replied, "but it would only really work if she was actually trying to be sneaky." She then said as she floated out of the room.
Thankfully, the teachers lounge wasn't to far away. And sure enough when the 4 of the got close and started listening, some unfamiliar voices could be heard, and none of their owners were among the teachers in the school.
"There's the water jug. Okay, so who brought the laxatives?"
"Rocksies has it."
"What? No I don't. Bringing them was your job."
"And I handed them to you once we got here for safekeeping."
"No you didn't"
That's three voices, voices, 2 of them arguing. Yeti whispered to Yuki-onna asking, "Is slipping laxatives to people a prank Allan allows?"
Yuki-onna pulled her memory back to the first night while Allan was asleep and everyone was going over their various pranks to see which ones fit his rules. "I don't think so... Allan never directly used it as an example, but tampering with food and drink is a risky one. And medication tampering even more so. This dose both."
"Then it sounds like we got our culprits." Jackfrost said.
A 4th voice from the Teachers lounge spoke up saying "Would you two cut it out, I brought some spares to make sure we got some."
"Thank you." the first voice said.
"Looks like we better act out, else we see why Allan's against it." Nekomusume said as she went through the wall to confront the 4.
Yuki-onna quickly turned to Jackfrost and said "Get Alucard, we'll hold them off."
Jackfrost saluted as Yuki-onna and Yeti entered in as well.
There were 4 duel spirits there, all looking pretty similar, like a set a quadruplets, all wearing similar outfits, but in different colors and all having different hair. A Blue one that had water-like hair handing the laxatives to a red one with Flaming hair, and a yellowish-brown one with literal rocks for hair in a small grapple with a green one with normal green hair... if one ignores how it looks like it was out in the wind for far to long.
Nekomusume, having come in first, was already half way through the room without the 4 noticing her. No sound was made and her movements were swift and graceful, and before long she pounced up and swiped the laxatives from the red one's hand right before he could phase them into the water jug.
"What the?" The red one called out once he realized the laxatives were taken out of his hand, before turning his head to see Nekomusume attached to the wall, Laxatives in hand.
"Sorry boys. Your prank has been called off." She stated.
"What?" Said the Blue one.
"Why?" The yellow-brownish one said.
"Who are you?" The green one asked.
The cat girl smirked, "I'm 'Ghostrick Nekomusume', one of many Ghostrick monsters around here. Before we answer the 'Why?' how about you all introduce yourselves first?"
"Were the Prank-Kids," The red one stated, "Doing pranks is our thing, so why are you stopping us?"
"Because your pranks have almost dealt a blow to the owner of our cards." Nekomusume stated.
"What don't know how to deal with a joke?" The rock-headed one asked.
"It's not the action of pranking, it's how harmful the pranks can be." Yuki-onna said from behind them, prompting the 4 of them to turn and see her and Yeti.
"How bad could it be? We just want to see how many teachers we can get to cut down there class times by causing them to use the bathroom." The Green one stated.
"And cause heavy water-filled buckets to fall on people's heads, and stick people in their rear with sharp pointy things." Yuki-onna added.
"And in this case..." Nekomusume continued as she slinked to Yuki-onna's side and started reading the laxative package, "risk, some serious dehydration or cause allergic reactions to the soy used in this, or rupture their appendix or cause internal bleeding... " She then blinked a bit, as she re-read that. "Oh Dang, yeah this one is definitely a no go."
"So what? We just want to have some laughs." The red one stated, "If you are to concerned about your boss, we can agree not to throw any pranks at them if you give us back the laxatives, Okay?"
"Sorry, that won't be enough." Came a Transylvanian accent, as Alucard phased in through the ceiling jackfrost in tow, "You see, you're not the only pranksters around, our owner likes them too but he has rules to make sure no one get's hurt in those pranks."
"So you all decided to be the prank police or something?" The green one asked, though it came out more like a statement. "And how many of you are there?"
"Something like that." Alucard stated, "and right now, there is almost 20 of us here in the school."
All 4 Prank-kids paused at hearing that and started started exchanging glances, and it didn't take much for some of the present Ghostricks to find out why. The 4 Prank-kids were probably willing to start up a fight in order to keep their pranks going, but 4 against 20 were not good odds.
Then the red one's face light up as an idea came to them. "Well, hang on, we're duel spirits, if there is a conflict between us, the way to go about it is with a duel. Namely between the two that hold the decks we are in."
"Only if neither side wants to give up their position on the matter." Alucard says, "if you do, you cold at least keep on pranking right away, as opposed to being put on pause about it until the duel can be arranged."
"Naa, I don't think any of us want any restrictions on what we can or cannot pull for pranks." The green one pitched in.
"And while our deck's holder cannot see us, we can pretty easily nudge him in the direction for a duel or two." The blue one commented.
The Ghostricks definitely didn't seem to like this, though none of them could bring up a counter. "Very well then." Alucard then stated, "Lets get the terms set up, we get the duelist that hold us to duel each other and put the bets on that... a regular duel, not any type of shadow game, and if our side wins you have to abide by the same rules we follow for your pranks."
The yellowish-brown one shrugged, "Okay, but if our side wins, then none of you or any other duel spirit you all ally with is allowed to interfere in any prank we want to unleash, unless you are helping us."
"Sounds fair, everyone in agreement?" Alucard said, turning to everyone else in the room. It was mostly acceptance, no one really had an issue on the terms, but the Green Prank-kid raised his hand.
"Quick question, since we never saw each other during Recess, I know that our duelists don't share a recess block, so when is a good time to arrange a duel between them."
"Probably during duel club." Yuki-onna spoke up. "They have a meeting and duels every Tuesday after school, and anyone is allowed, our guy already goes each week, so if you get your person to attend, it would be easy to get one started at that time."
The Blue Prank-kid turned to the red one. "Can we wait till Tuesday?"
The red one seemed to think for a moment before saying, "I suppose that's fine."
And with that... the rules of the duel were set.

"So let me get this straight." Allan said while on his way home. "You found out who else was launching those pranks. And now I have to duel them to get them to stop?"
"Well, not duel the pranksters directly... they were duel spirits. So you will be dueling the person who has their deck." Alucard stated.
"Wish you could have asked me about that before signing me up for it."
"Sorry, but you weren't available and we had to make a move... it won't be a shadow game, for you it is just some regular duel that would be happening at a time when you are dueling anyway."
"Ehh, don't feel to bad about it." Nekomusume interjected floating up to his side, "Duel spirits like to make these types of decisions all the time and most people never notice. In fact I am pretty sure most of the most iconic rivalries in that dueling history book you have on your shelf, were caused in part because of the rivalries of the duel spirits that each duelist had without knowing."
"Huh, interesting." Allan noted, he will need to file that tidbit away, might be helpful for future notice in case he needs to do something like distract one person with a duel, but can't be the one dueling. "Well, I guess if it is happening at a time convenient to me and it isn't like what happened at the Museum, then I don't have much of any reason to complain."
"One more thing." Yuki-onna stated, "We never got their exact names, but they called themselves the Prank-kids. Know anything about that play style?"
"Hmm, it sounds familiar, but I am drawing a blank." Allan admitted "Thankfully, we have the weekend to do some research and prepare a counter strategy. Think they'll do the same?"
"Unlikely." Alucard stated, "One of them said something about there person not being able to see them. So that guy may not be aware that he will be dueling a Ghostrick user soon."
Allan smirked, "Then we got the advantage." Then he turned the corner and blinked, as there was an unfamiliar car in the driveway. 'Hmm, strange. I don't think Mom or dad said anything about having a guest over.' he thought to himself. 'And they don't have anything special going on today either, so what is left that could prompt someone coming to our house? Please don't be anything bad.' Cautiously opening the door, Allan spotted his mom and one other woman at the dining room table, the latter then promptly turned and saw him.
"Ah, there you are." She stated, "Allan before you get started on anything we got to do something real quick."
'Before anything? Even homework?' Allan thought, though the latter made no difference since he already finished his homework during class again. "What's going on?"
"Nothing major, hopefully." she muttered that last part. She then turned to the other woman and said, "Ms. Konopa , this is my son, Allan."
"Hello Allan." said the woman, "I'm Rebecca Konopa, and I am with the Government's Department of Enhanced Dueling' or DED for short. I just want to ask some questions related to how you initiated that Mystic defense duel last Monday."
'Ooooooooooooh..'

Tuesday came around again and when the bell rang Allan was off once again to the dueling club. Nothing particular happened throughout the day nor Monday but the Ghostricks did seem to be trying to stay more alert then usual... well except for Socuteboss, she just seemed like she wanted to be sleeping all the time. He saw no indication of the Prank-kids at all throughout the day and even on the trip to the art room the duel club used he didn't see anything. The regular people started coming in the room as usual and Lucy appeared just a bit before Tim did, still no sign of the Prank-kids.
"Oh, by the way." Ms. Ketto interjected as everyone was getting started, "I have something new for you all." She then reached into her bad and pulled out what seemed to be a bunch of high-tech versions of a dueling mat. "Provided that you all can take care of them, I have some new holo-dueling mats for you all to try out. You play the duel like normal, but it should be like you're dueling in a Duel Box if you use these."
"Aw man." Witch cried out from beside Allan, "That means the holograms will be to small for us to posses."
Allan himself was thinking something different, 'Those things are new, where did she get them from? They look rather pricy.'
However before much else could happen the door opened once again, and then Allan saw it, coming right alongside a rather chunky looking guy were 4 duel spirits that looked rear identical with each other with the exception of their colors and hair style. The 4 Prank-kids had arrived.
"Hey, uhh, this where the Dueling club is?" The guy said as the 4 Prank-kids shot glares in Allan's direction... or at least in the direction of the Ghostricks right beside him.
"Yep." Ms. Ketto stated, "Just write your name down on this little sign up sheet here and you can start looking around for a duel." She replied tapping on a piece of paper in a binder.
"I'll even be your first opponent." Allan immediately said raising his hand. Normally he wouldn't be the one offering to duel someone brand new to him, but it didn't take much to figure out that this guy was likely the guy holding the Prank-Kids cards in his deck, so he might as well not waste time and get the duel started.
"You are all going down." The red Prank-Kid, Prank-Kid Lampsies, stated to the present Ghostricks.
"We'll see about that." Nekomusume replied.
"Oh sweet, you got the new Holo-dueling mats?" the chunky looking guy stated.
"As long as everyone takes good care of them." Ms. Ketto said.
"Want to use them for the duel?" Allan asked the guy.
"Sure," The guy said as he picked up a coupe of the mats. "Names Kijirada by the way."
"I'm Allan." The Ghostrick user replied, not sure if he was going to remember Kijirada's name by the end of the day, but hopefully the duel will be memorable. New Dueling mats that project holograms for the duel aside, nothing seemed out of the usual for the duel. There was some rock-paper scissors to decide who went first (Allan chose paper, Kijirada did scissors), decks were shuffled as usual, and all in all, for most people in the room, there would be no difference from watching this duel and watching any other duel going on around it that was also sing some of the holo-dueling mats. But to the duel spirits, it was something else entirely.
"Duel."
"Lets get this show going." Kijirada stated as he saw his 5 card opening hand. "I'll start things off by summoning 'Prank-kids Lampsies' to the field."
"All is takes is one of us." Lampsies said as he saw a miniature version of himself appear on the field.
Prank-Kids Lampsies... Attribute:Fire, Type:Pyro, Level:3, ATK:1500 DEF:500
"And now I'll use Lampsies to Link summon." Kijirada continued as he went for his extra deck and the Lampsies on the field turned into a red arrow. "I summon the Link-1, 'Prank-Kids Meow-Meow-Mu'." Coming out onto the field was some sort of orange cat-like monster that had bits of yellow, blue, red, and green swirls all going around it.
Prank-Kids Meow-Meow-Mu... Attribute:Earth, Type:Rock, Link-1, , ATK:1000, Arrows: Bottom
Nekomusume's head perked up at that, "Kitty?"
Before anyone could say anything more to that, Kijirada continued his turn "When one of the main deck Prank-kids are used a either Fusion or Link material, I can summon another one from my deck and gain a bonus effect. Since Lampsies was used, he can deal 500 points of damage to you as I get to summon Fansies from the deck." At that, a small copy of the green prank-kid appeared on Kijirada's field as a small fireball showed up and blew up in Allan's face.
Allan's LP: 8000 – 7500
Prank-Kids Fansies... Attribute:Wind, Type:Thunder, Level:1, ATK:0 DEF:2000
"Ha! First damage!" Fansies exclaimed.
'That's not much of an achievement.' Allan thought in response.
"Now I use Meow-Meow-Mu and Fansies for another Link Summon!" Kijirada continued as another Link portal appeared, "Say hello, to the Link-2, 'Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Doo'." This time coming out of the portal was some sort of white bird, with the same spirals on it as the cat.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Doo... Attribute:Wind, Type:Thunder, Link-2, , ATK:2000, Arrows: Bottom, Left
"Fansies can let me send any Prank-kid card in my deck to the GY when summoning another Prank-Kid with it's effect, and when Dodo-Doodle-Doo is Link summoned I can add another Prank-Kid card to my hand." Kijirada said as card effects went off. "So I'll add 'Prank-Kids Pranks' to my hand, send 'Prank-Kids Plan' to my GY, and summon 'Prank-Kids Dropsies'." At that, a mini-version of the Blue prank-kid appeared to the field.
Prank-Kids Dropsies... Attribute:Water, Type:Aqua, Level:2, ATK:1000 DEF:1000
"Next I'll use Dropsies and Dodo-Doodle-Doo to Link summon again." Kijirada stated. "I could go for a Link-3 here since one of the monsters is a Link-2, but instead I'll just go for another Link-2 in 'Prank-kids Bow-Wow-Bark'." At that a Red-two headed Dog appeared with the same types of swirls around it as the other two Link monsters.
Prank-Kids Bow-Wow-Bark... Attribute:Fire, Type:Pyro, Link-2, , ATK:2000, Arrows: Bottom, Right
"Dropsies lets me gain 1000 LP with it's effect as I get to summon 'Prank-Kids Rocksies' to the field." he continued as the last Prank-kid appeared to the field.
Kijirada's LP: 8000 – 9000
Prank-Kids Rocksies... Attribute:Earth, Type:Rock, Level:4, ATK:1500 DEF:1500
"Oh, and if you notice I put Rocksies right under Bow-wow-Bark so that bottom arrow points to it, that means Bow-Wow Bark gives Rocksies an extra 1000 ATK." Kijirada quickly added.
Prank-Kids Rocksies... ATK:1500 – 2500
"Now It's time for me to play a different card from my hand, namely 'Thunder Dragon Fusion'." Kijirada continued. "This card lets me summon a Thunder-type Fusion monster from my extra deck by spinning it's material from my field, GY, or Banished Pile."
"It may not be a Prank-Kid card, but it works out wonders for summoning the big guns!" Rocksies stated.
'So he did play that... well, good thing he is using it now.' Allan thought to himself.
"I shuffle the Dropsies, Lampsies, and Fansies in my GY back to my deck." Kijirada stated as he started to chant, "Fire, water and wind, Drops, Pulses and Ramps, time to unite to Prankster's powers to form a giant to take down anything! Fusion Summon! Rise up! Prank-Kids Battle Butler!" At that, a Giant machine (relatively speaking, it was more the size of an action figure) came out from the Fusion Vortex, seemingly piloted by Fansies, Lampsies, and Dropsies.
Prank-Kids Battle Butler... Attribute:Wind, Type:Thunder/Fusion, Level:10, ATK:3000 DEF:3000
Kijirada's eyes suddenly lost focus for a bit as he needed to hold his head in his hand, "Oh, Man, that was a thing."
"You Okay?" Allan asked.
"Yeah, I just thought that since these were duel mats and that Link summoning is easy, I wouldn't have to worry to much of the strain caused by making a play like that." Kijirada replied.
"These Holo-Duel mats are made by Delg Duel Tech," Lucy stated watching the duel "they've been known for pointing out there exact numbers and not exaggerating anything. So if there were advertised as being like dueling in a Duel Box, it's going to be like that."
"Need a minute?" Allan asked, "we don't have an official timer on this, so the only timer to worry about is until the club needs to be done for the day."
"I think I should be good." Kijirada stated, "I end my turn."
"Then it is my turn." Allan said drawing a card, his hand contained 'Ghostrick Renovation', 'Ghostrick Doll', 'Chain Disappearance', 'Ghostrick Parade', 'Spirit Barrier', and now 'Dark Core' was added in as well. "I activate Ghostrick Parade, with this, no face-down monsters can be attack targets. However, they also cannot stop direct attacks."
Tim blinked as he saw that, "Another Filed spell with that effect? Just how many do you got?"
"Now I'll activate 'Dark Core', and discard 1 card from my hand to Banish a monster you control." Allan continued, discarding 'Ghostrick Renovation', "I'll banish Battle Butler." He then said as the Fusion monster got sucked up into some sort of black hole. "I'll now set a monster and play 3 cards face-down and end my turn."
"Ha! That's it? That's nothing." Lampsies said.
"Don't get to excited there." Alucard cut him off, "This duel has just begun."
"My turn then." Kijirada said as he drew a card. "I use my Rocksies for another Link summon, and call out my second Meow-Meow-Mu." At that the little Rock head turned into another cat-like monster. "And Now, with my monster's effect, I can banish a card in my hand to draw 1 and then summon another Prank-kid." Kijirada continued, "I banish 'Fusion Recovery' and summon Fansies to the field again."
Allan smirked, "The I activate my trap card, 'Chain Disappearance'." Allan said revealing the card. "Since a monster with 1000 or less ATK was summoned, this card Banishes it and all copies of it in your hand or deck."
"Ah, shoot." Kijirada stated as he began to search his deck again for the remaining copies of Fansies.
"Wait, it hits all of me?" Fansies declared/asked. "But that practically takes me out of the whole duel from now on."
"And other copies of Battle Butler, as now in order to summon it we would need another Thunder dragon Fusion card." Rocksies said.
"But why would he even run that card, it's not at all that practical." Lampsies asked.
"Well, it as 2 valid targets among you 4." Alucard interjected. "And you all really like summoning each other, so it's very likely to go off against you."
"So what? That is only helpful in this exact... match-up." Dropsies said slowing down as realization hit, he turned to look at Allan who was looking directly at him with that smirk still on his face.
"Unlike Kijirada, Allan CAN see and hear us. So there is no reason why we couldn't tell him of a duel we scheduled up for him." Alucard stated, "So why wouldn't we tell him and give him time to prepare?"
"Okay." Kijirada stated, as he found his last copy of Fansies and got them all in the banished zone. "Thankfully I have more Prank-kids, I summon another Lampsies. And use him and Meow-Meow-Mu to Link summon another Dodo-Doodle-Do." He said as another Bird-like monster appeared.
Lucy gave a small giggle, "Man, Dodo-Doodle-Do, Meow-Meow-Mu, these alliterative names the Prank-kids monsters have are so cute."
"Like before Lampsies can dish out some damage and summon another Prank-Kid. While Dodo-Doodle-Do can use it's effect to search out another card, in this case 'Prank-kid Pandemonium'. And I summon a Dropsies." He said that as another copy of the blue one showed up again.
Allan's LP: 7500 – 7000
"Now for the battle phase." He continued without stopping "Since you only have 1 set monster and that field spell, everyone is out for direct attacks, and since Bow-Wow-Bark is pointing toward Dodo-Doodle-Do, the latter gains 1000 ATK."
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:2000 – 3000
"Dodo-doodle-do attacks." Kijirada stated as his Bird charged.
"Hold-up, with Parade out, each of your attacks will let me add any Ghostrick card of my choice to my hand. And when Parade activates to do this, I'll chain my set 'Spirit Barrier'." Allan said revealing a set card and making a yellow barrier appear around him to protect his life points. "Spirit Barrier makes it so your attack won't do any battle damage while I still have a monster out, and with Parade I will add 'Ghostrick Lantern' to my hand." The Bird slammed into the Yellow barrier like it was a clear window. Before peeling back and retreating.
"Should have figured you would have something to keep your Life points safe." Kijirada said to himself, "I set a card and end my turn."
Allan Drew his card and saw it was, 'Ghostrick Warwolf'. "Okay First up I flip summon my 'Ghostrick Doll'." He said as a Bisque doll walked out of the parade. "And to join her is 'Ghostrick Warwolf'." he then followed up with a hologram of the bipedal wolf appeared and literally leaped onto the field.
Ghostrick Doll... Attribute:Dark, Type:Spellcaster, Level:2, ATK:300 DEF:1200
Ghostrick Warwolf... Attribute:Dark, Type:Zombie, Level:3, ATK:1400 DEF:1500
"Hold up." Kijirada cut in, "I activate my set card. 'Prank-Kids Pandemonium', with this I can Fusion summon right now, So I will fuse my Dropsies with my Dodo-doodle do in order to Fusion summon." He then said as another Fusion Vortex appeared and he started to chant, "The Silly Pranksters know no limit and will blast off at the speed of light to get their goal. Fusion Summon. Appear. Prank-kids Rocket Ride."
Prank-Kids Rocket Ride... Attribute:Fire, Type:Pyro/Fusion, Level:5, ATK:2000 DEF:0
"And Thanks to Dropsies I gain another 1000 LP and can summon another Rocksies to the field." He then said as another monster joined his field.
Kijirada's LP: 9000 – 10000
'He must not have Weather Washer, cause that is a far better fusion for this situation.' Allan thought before saying "Then I'll go to my end phase, where Doll's effect will force all of our face-up monsters face-down."
"Link monsters can't go face-down, to Bow-Wow-Mark is immune." Kijirada stated.
"Doesn't matter, I also get to summon a Ghostrick from my deck face-down as long as it's level is less then the number of monsters flipped down, since 4 go down, there is more then enough room for any Ghostrick of my choice, and I choose 'Ghostrick Jiangshi'." He said pulling the card from his deck and placing it face down.
"My turn then." Kijirada said drawing a card. "First up, I discard a card to activate 'Twin Twisters'. " He said, Pitching a copy of 'One for one' that was in his hand, "So Now I can destroy two spell or trap cards you control, I'll get rid of that Spirit Barrier and that set card."
"Ha! Ain't no hiding behind that Barrier forever!" Fansies declared.
Allan's smirked, "That set card was my first copy of 'Jackpot 7', which now means it can banish itself with it's effect." He said showing the card.
"Oh, Boy, there he goes again." Tim stated.
"What dose that mean?" Kijirada asked.
"He's referring to how I like to go for alternate win conditions when I can." Allan answered, "And 'Jackpot 7' is one of them, If all 3 copies get banished with that effect, I win the duel."
"Oh." came the reply, with Kijirada looking a bit worried, "Well then, I guess I better take you out as soon as I can then. I flip summon the Prank-Kids Rocket Ride and Rocksies that you flipped face down earlier." He then declared as the monster emerged from their shadowed forms. "Then I summon, 'Prank-Kids Dropsies'." He said as another Blue Prank-kid joined the field. "I now Use the Dropsies and Rocksies on my field to Link summon a my Third Dodo-doodle-do." He then said as another copy of the bird Link monster appeared again. "And with their effects Rocksies and Dropsies can let me summon a third Rocksies and another Lampsies to the field. All the while I gain another thousand life points, banish a card to draw 1 and search out another Prank-Kids card from my deck."
"Ugh, why can so many things happen off of just 1 action?" Witch stated/asked.
"Cause were awesome." Fansies stated as Kijirada added 'Prank-Kids Place' to his hand before banishing it to draw 1.
Kijirada's LP: 10000 – 11000
"I got Dodo-Doodle-Do in the spot Bow-Wow-Bark is pointing to, so it gains 1000 attack." Kijirada then added.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:2000 – 3000
"Next I will use my newly summoned Rockies and Lampsies to summon another Bow-Wow-Bark next to Dodo-Doodle-Do." He then said as another two headed Dog appeared, powering up Dodo-Doodle-Do even more with it's right arrow.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:3000 – 4000
"And while Rocksies can't use it's effect again this turn, Lampsies can still burn you for another 500 while I bring out my third Dropsies." He said as another fire ball went into Allan's Face.
Allan's LP: 7000 – 6500
"Battle Phase, Dodo-Doodle-Do direct attacks." He declared.
"Parade's effect goes off then, and lets me add 'Ghostrick Jackfrost' to my hand," Allan said "and then I will chain 'Ghostrick Lantern' in my hand to negate the attack and summon it face-down." He said as the mini version of Ghostrick Lantern blocked the Beefy Bird's attack.
"Rocket Ride, attacks as well." Kijirada stated.
"Then I'll add 'Ghostrick Panic' to my hand and Chain Jackfrost's effect to force Rocket Ride face down and summon him." Allan Countered. Deflecting the Rocket.
"But Now your open to my Bow-wow Barks and my Dropsies, and they all attack." The Prank-Kids duelist stated.
"But this means I also get three more cards to my hand, I choose Ghostrick Mummy, Witch and Museum." Allan stated as he braced for the attacks.
Allan's LP: 6500 – 4500 – 2500 – 1500
"Next I'll play 'Prank-Kids Pranks'." Kijirada stated, "At m end phase, I shuffle 3 Prank-Kids cards back into my deck and Draw 1. I shuffle all three Rocksies. My turn's at an end."
"My Draw then." Allan stated, Drawing his card and smiling at what it is. "First up, Parade keeps my opponent from taking any damage, so I will replace it with my Museum." He then said as the area around him changed from a cartoonish Parade to a cartoonish Museum. "And Now I will set 2 cards and flip summon 'Ghostrick Warwolf', who's effect now deals you 100 damage for each set card on the field." He then Declared as the Warwolf in question attacked with what seemed to be some sort of visible directional sound attack to deal the damage.
Kijirada's LP: 11000 – 10400
"And Now Let's flip summon everyone else here." Allan sated as Jackfrost, Lantern, Doll, and Jiangshi all appeared beside him.
Ghostrick Jiangshi... Attribute:Dark, Type:Zombie, Level:3, ATK:400 DEF:1800
"And with Jiangshi's effect, I'll use this opportunity to add 'Ghostrick Ghoul' to my hand." He then added, getting another search off. "Now you had a big play, it's time for mine. I Overlay the Level 1 Ghostricks Jackfrost and Lantern." He then declared as the two monsters turned into purple streams of energy that flowed into an overlay network and Allan Chanted, "Ride through the night, and embark on the battlefield! Not Even death can stop this Soul! XYZ Summon! Rise up! Rank 1! Ghostrick Dullahan!" The Rank-1 Ghostrick Xyz appeared ready to fight.
Ghostrick Dullahan... Attribute:Dark, Type:Fiend/Xyz, Rank:1, ATK:1000 DEF:0
"And by putting in my extra monster Zone, I free up two monster zones for me to summon Ghostrick Mummy and Ghostrick Witch with with Mummy's effect." Allan continued as he summoned two more Ghostricks.
Ghostrick Mummy... Attribute:Dark, Type:Zombie, Level:3, ATK:1500 DEF:0
Ghostrick Witch... Attribute:Dark, Type:Spellcaster, Level:2, ATK:1200 DEF:200
"And Now I'll overlay, The Level 3 Ghostricks Jiangshi and Warwolf." Allan continued.
"Your doing consecutive Xyz summons?" Kijirada asked/stated.
"May the watcher of the playful pranksters appear hear and now, and with his royal blood make himself known as one to not be trifled with! XYZ Summon! Descend! Rank 3! Ghostrick Alucard!" Allan Chanted as his Vampiric Xyz monster rose to assist him.
Ghostrick Alucard... Attribute:Dark, Type:Zombie/Xyz, Rank:3, ATK:1800 DEF:1600
"And after all of that, I still ain't done, after all Witch and Doll are both Level 2, so I can go for one more." Allan stated. As those two also turned into streams of energy as a third Overlay network appeared and Allan chanted, "May the magical daemon of sleep come forth to render enemies to an eternal rest! Xyz Summon! Come Forth, Rank 2! Ghostrick Socuteboss!" He said as the Rack-2 Ghostrick Xyz monster appeared, looking ready to fall over and take a nap.
Ghostrick Socuteboss... Attribute:Dark, Type:Spellcaster/Xyz, Rank:2, ATK:1400 DEF:1200
"Hey hey, Foul FOUL!" Lampsies shouted though only Allan and other duel spirits could hear him. "You all are using your own energy and power to help fuel the summons and put less strain on your duelist, That's unfair."
"No it isn't, we are literally the monsters Allan is summoning." Dullahan countered. "We have the right to make it easier for Allan to summon us, if you all had the duel spirit that was ties to Dodo-doodle-do with you, it would be able to do the same each time Kijirada summoned him. It is allowed."
"Dullahan's effect gives it an extra 200 ATK for each face-up Ghostrick card." Allan said trying his best to ignore the Duel spirit's bickering, "With 4 monsters and 1 spell, that means he gains 1000 extra attack points."
Ghostrick Dullahan... ATK:1000 – 2000
"And while we are bringing up monster effects, I'll use Socuteboss's effect and detach an Xyz material to destroy any face up monster you control who's attack points are less the the total sum of all my Ghostricks' attack points." Allan stated as Socuteboss yawned, grabbed an orbiting Xyz material, shoved it in her pillow and threw the Pillow at one of the Bow-Wow-Barks, vaporizing it and leaving a big X where it once was.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:4000 – 3000
"You know what, I like that effect, so I think I'll go for it again." Allan stated.
"It's not once per turn." Tim asked, surprised, it sounds like it should be a once per turn effect.
"Oh it is, but a soft once per turn, not a hard one like those Prank-kids." Allan clarified, "So If I summon another Socuteboss I can use the newer copies effect. And by banishing the Ghostrick Renovation in my GY, I can Summon another Socuteboss right on top of another Ghostrick Xyz I have out. So sorry to Alucard, but there is going to be another girl replacing him on the field." Allan stated as he took the Renovation out of the GY.
Alucard just shrugged at that and said, "As long as there are reasons beyond 'Need more girls' I don't think there is anything to complain about." He stated as the images showed his miniature form get put into another overlay network.
"And Now with a second Socuteboss, I'll use her effect again." Allan continued as the second Bow-wow-bark was vaporized in the same fashion as the first, leaving behind another X.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:3000 – 2000
"Time to Battle, Dullahan attacks Dodo-Doodle-do." Allan declared, "and with Dullahan's effect, I can detach an Xyz material to halve your monster's attack." an Orbiting Xyz material got absorbed into the mini Dulahan's sword as it charged at the Remaining Link monster, and sliced it in half.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:2000 – 1000
Kijirada's LP: 10400 – 9400
"And now one of the Socuteboss will attack Dropsies." Allan declared as the Xyz monster floated over to the Effect monster, gave it a wink, prompting Dropsies to go super red in the face before it was smacked by the pillow hard enough to turn to gold dust.
Kijirada's LP: 9400 – 9000
"The effect of Museum forces monsters to go face down after dealing Damage." Allan explained as the two Ghostricks that attacked went hid from sight. "And During the End Phase, Doll's effect will force Mummy, Rocket Ride and my other Socuteboss down as well, but lets me summon a Ghostrick Yeti face down to join them on my field. Turn end."
Kijirada blinked for a bit and face palmed as the X's on his field vanished, "Why didn't I use 'Prank-kids Plan', I could have used the GY effect during one of those attacks to repel them."
"Slight headache from Link summoning 7 times and Fusion summoning twice in a short time span?" Lucy offered.
"Maybe." Kijirada said as he drew a card. "I activate 'Dark World Dealings'. With this we both draw a card and then discard a card."
"Hmm, this would be a really good time to draw my second 'Jackpot 7' then." Allan commented.
Kijirada raised an eyebrow, "Why's that?"
Seeing that Nekomusume got the hint and started diving into the deck, Allan said "Because it's effect to Banish itself doesn't care how it got to the GY, as long as your card effect was the cause, it can be from the hand, deck, field or even the banish pile to go off." Nekomusume's head popped up with a big thumbs up as Allan reached for his deck. "As such If I draw my second 'Jackpot 7' from your spell, I can choose to have it be the discard from it and be just 1 card away from winning." Drawing the card, he feigned surprise as he then said, "Huh, I guess the 'If' wasn't much of a keyword there." He then said as he smiled and revealed that he did in fact draw another 'Jackpot 7'.
Any humans watching the duel then looked super surprised. "Whoa Hang on. Let me get this straight here." Kijirada the said, "So from now on, if I play any card that sends cards to your GY, there is a solid chance I could just loose outright if it hits a third 'Jackpot 7'?"
"At the moment. Yes." Allan replied.
"Aw, shoot." He then said as he looked back at his available options, now second guessing most of them.
Lampsies was fuming as he saw this gritting his teeth and holding back what Allan could only assume are words that are not suppose to be said in the presence of Kids.
"You wanting to get on our case for giving Allan's Draw a boost?" Alucard asked.
"Yes." Lampsies said, "But I can't since the 4 of us were doing it with our guy subtly as well. And if he was running a better build or playing the deck better we would have won already."
'Ahh, the advantages of being able to talk to your cards.' Allan thought to himself.
"I flip summon Rocket Ride again." Kijirada then stated, As the monster rose up yet again, "And with Rocket Ride's effect I ca tribute it to summon 2 non-Fusion Prank-Kids cards from my GY." he followed up with as the monster Vanished and a Bow-Wow-Bark and Dodo-Doodle-Do showed back up on his filed again. With the Big Birdy at a spot where the Doggo could point to it.
Prank-Kids Dodo-Doodle-Do... ATK:2000 – 3000
"Rocket Ride prevents them from attacking this turn." Kijirada said, "But they can still be used as Link Material for one more Link summon." He added as a new Link Portal opened up. "And Link-2 or higher monsters can be treated as multiple monsters for a Link summon. Since I'm using 2 Link-2, that adds up to a Link-4." He the said as the 2 monsters each split into a total of 4 streams of energy, then went to fill out the Link markers. "Battle Butler isn't the only Big Gun I have, Say hello to the Link-4 'Prank-Kids Rip-Roaring-Roaster'." Coming out of this portal was a relatively large Blue Dragon, about as large as the Battle Butler and having all the same swirls around it that the previous Link monsters had.
Prank-Kids Rip-Roaring-Roaster... Attribute:Water, Type:Aqua, Link-4, ATK:3000, Arrows: Bottom, Right, Left, Top
"Okay, Big-Gun number 2!" Dropsies said with excitement.
"But it's effect hit's back row, using it could be the end." Rocksies pointed out.
"But he still has more attacks points then needed to win with a direct attack." Dropsies replied, "And the Museum is allowing that to happen right now."
"Rip-Roaring-Roaster attacks." Kijirada stated. As the Dragon created a sphere of pressurized water in it's mouth.
"Hold up, I activate a Trap card." Allan said, Grabbing a set card. "'Ghostrick Scare'. I can flip up any of my set monsters to face-up defense position and for each Ghostrick I flip, I can force one of your monsters face-down."
"Oh yeah, I forgot you searched that card out." Kijirada commented, "Aw well, Rip-Roaring-Roaster is unaffected by that last bit since it is a Link monster, as all that card can let you do is flip up a monster to take the heat of the attack in your place."
Allan smirked at that. "Not exactly." He said, Before grabbing two of his cards. "I re-flip up my two copies of 'Ghostrick Socuteboss'." As the two monsters revealed themselves they both looked at the Dragon and seemed to give a small pout. At that point the Dragon cut off it's attack seemingly embarrassed as it's face started to turn red.
"Wait, shouldn't I get a replay or something?" Kijirada asked wondering why his dragon cut off it's attack.
"You would, but I got a Socuteboss style attack lock-down right here." Allan said with a smile, "You see Socuteboss has another effect that prevents her from being an attack target as long as I have at least 1 other Ghostrick on the field. They can't count themselves but they can count each other, so having 2 or more out means none of them can be attacked, and unlike the Field spells, this protection CAN stop direct attacks as well. So you have no targets to attack."
"Seriously?" Kijirada asked, "First a Spirit Barrier lock-down and now this? How well can you stall out with that deck?"
"Enough that I can tech in a copy of 'Final Countdown' to this deck as another alternate win condition and actually pull it off." Allan replied.
Tim then sighed at that, "It has been proven." He said somewhat dejectedly. Prompting Lucy to 'there-there' him.
"Great." Kijirada said, as he looked down at his hand again. "I set one monster and one other face-down card. Then, during my end phase, Pranks can let me shuffle back another three Prank-Kids cards and draw one." He then grabbed three of the Link monsters in his GY (two 'Dodo-Doodle-Do's and a Meow-Meow-Mu) "But since I am grabbing three Link monsters they all go back to my extra deck instead." He then stated as he still got to Draw a card. "My Turn's Over."
"Then I Draw." Allan said, Drawing his card and seeing it as 'Kinka-Byo'. "I'll start by flip summoning my remaining set monsters." he then declared as Ghostrick Mummy, Yeti, and Dullahan all rose up.
Ghostrick Yeti... Attribute:Dark, Type:Zombie, Level:3, ATK:300 DEF:2000
"When Yeti is flipped Face-up his effect can give one Ghostrick I control protection from destruction by battle or card effects this turn." Allan said as the small furry beast created some Icy-Armor for Dullahan. "Next I'll Overlay Mummy and Yeti for another Xyz summon." Allan said as another copy of Alucard hit the field. "And Now I'll use Alucard's effect, By detaching an Xyz material I can destroy any set card on your field. So Let's get rid of that back row, shall we?" He then said as the mini-Alucard turned one of it's orbiting overlay units into a Purple bat that flew out toward the set card.
"Well, there went my 'Magic Cylinder'." Kijirada said as he moved the card to his GY pile.
"And Now I summon 'Kinka-Byo'." Allan declared as a little cat monster showed to his field, "Upon summoning this little guy I am allowed to special summon a Level 1 monster from the GY, So I'll being back Lantern." At that the Cat's shadow took the shape of and transformed into the tiny little Lantern Ghostrick. "And with 2 more Level 1s Lets say hello to another Dullahan." He then said as the two went into another overlay network and a second copy of the headless Horseman appeared next to the first. "I now have 6 Ghostrick cards out, 5 monsters, 1 spell, so my Dullahans gain 1200 ATK with their effects."
Ghostrick Dullahan (x2)... ATK:1000 – 2200
"The Combined attack points of these monsters is 9000." Allan stated, "That's enough for game."
"If you make it past my Dragon." Kijirada said.
"True, so let's do just that." Allan said, "I detach one Xyz material off of one of the two Socutebosses here to wipe out your dragon since it's attack points are less then the aforementioned total." He then said as the Socuteboss with only a single Overlay unit left grabbed her's and ate it, then she floated over to the Dragon inspecting it with a smile on her face, while also prompting the Dragon's entire hue to go from blue to red.
"Only one play left to win this then." Kijirada stated, "I chain Rip-Roaring-Roaster's special ability, and Tribute it to destroy all spell and traps cards on your field." The Dragon then backed far away from Socuteboss in a hurry before creating a small storm to hit Allan's field.
"I see." Allan stated as the are around him turned back to normal. "This will destroy Ghostrick Museum, making it so I can no longer direct attack around that set monster."
"Yeah, I'm still in this." Kijirada, which got some cheers from the Prank-Kids he could not see or hear.
"Actually, no your not." Allan stated immediately squashing those cheers. "Because the fact that it destroys all of my spells and traps means it also hits a card you really didn't want to hit." He then followed up on pointing to his one remaining face-down card.
The storm died down as realization dawned on Kijirada face. "So that card is..."
"My Third 'Jackpot 7'." Allan finished revealing the card.
"Nooooooo!" All 4 Prank-Kids roared at seeing the card hit the GY, triggering it's effect.
Then arising to Allan field, a giant(ish) slot machine with a Pot of Greed on top (albeit missing a piece) made itself known, all three slots then spun and landed on 7 as a Light began to shine and build up from inside the Pot, where it then started to flow out, taking the form of hard-light coins.
"Aw man." Kijirada stated as he closed his eyes and allowed the coins to wash over him. Not long after all the holograms vanished and the Holo-Duel Mat Allan was using light up with a victory jingle.
"Do be fair, you had a Life point lead throughout practically the entire duel." Lucy said to Kijirada.
"I think this duel should show that Life points don't really matter as much as some people would have you think." Kijirada replied as he picked his cards up.
"Well, my dad would agree with that." She muttered to herself.
"Want me to point out some of the errors you made?" Allan said, spotting a few of them rather easily since he did research on how the Prank-Kids deck works over the weekend.
Kijirada then shrugged and said "Okay." as the group then started to talk and get another duel going.
What most members of the group were unaware of were the reactions of the duel spirits with the Prank-Kids all crying. "Well, there went most of the laughs we could possibly get while here." Lampsies said.
"At least if you follow the rules Allan gave us, the laughs you will get won't be undermined by putting someone in the hospital." Nekomusume commented.
"Yeah, but restrictions and limitations can be so boring." Rockies said. "I want to go all out."
"How about instead of thinking of them as 'limitations', try thinking of them as challenges to get around." Mummy commented.
Witch also interjected, "And if you aren't up to a challenge, I noticed that there are more then just a few superstitious people in the sports teams and theater club here. Making low-effort laughs really easy to pull off."
"How about you at least hear the rules before judging how good or bad they are?" Alucard said.
The 4 grumbled a bit before resigning to the agreement, "Fine." Fansies stated.
Socuteboss then looked at the 4 pout-y faces they were giving and chuckled, saying, "Aww, you 4 look so cute like that."
All 4 of them stumbled at once in perfect harmony at that, "Cute!?" Dropsies then said all their faces started to turn an interesting shade of Crimson.
Linebreak
A few ours latter, somewhere else in Duellum city, another duel was concluded. The looser of the duel screaming out in pain as a direct attack went out at them.
"What the- why did that hurt?" The duelist said as a wave of darkness they couldn't see engulfed them and they vanished.
"And yet another failed search." The winner said, "This is getting rather annoying." They continued. Demonic voice layered over the voice of the boy who's body it was using. In then walked out of an alleyway and started looking around for something, "There has got to be something I can use to boost my odds of finding that Mystic." They said as there eyes spotted some sort of poster and walked toward it. The Poster was advertising The 5th annual Multi-school dueling festival at the Duellum Community College, held on October 31st... just a few more days away, primarily for the schools that helped set it up, but anyone and everyone was allowed to come.. A smirked formed on the lips of the boy even though his eyes remained distant. "Well, this might help." They then said. Even if the Mystic isn't there, there will be a lot of people there the being could add to it's collection.
AN:
Well, wasn't this a nice breather chapter... Allan's life wasn't in danger, we got a couple tidbits that could be used in future stories for world building. and we got to see someone badly play a meta deck because apparently Prankids are meta.
Next up... Allan's life is going to be put back in danger. Oh, and there is a way you could make figure out the identity (or at least the name) of the force Allan is going to go up against before the next chapter comes next week... the hint comes in the names of MOST of Allan's opponent up till now, as they follow a theme that is carried on.
