~ You've Got Snabies (Snake Babies) ~

Due reasons beyond Gabriel's comprehension, the archangel was babysitting Query the demon toddler - the daughter of Beelzebub and Crowley. The child was somewhere around the equivalent of three or four human-years old (not that this information did Gabriel any good, since he knew nothing about human children, either.)

Gabriel was normally an early riser, but found himself being awakened even earlier than he liked to get up.

"Time for snekfast!" the child said as soon as Gabriel opened his eyes.

"Snekfast?" Gabriel repeated, nonplussed.

"Snake breakfast!"

"You eat snakes for breakfast?"

Query scowled at the angel.

"I'm the snake! I eat the breakfast!"

"Do demons even need to eat..." Gabriel barely managed to restrain himself from calling it 'gross matter' - which he did only because he thought the child wouldn't understand what he meant by the phrase, not because he was making any effort to be polite. "...food?"

At this point the child gave up on attempts at verbal communication and began to cry.

Not knowing what to do in this situation, Gabriel panicked.

The crying soon attracted the attention of the other archangels, whose bedrooms were in the same hallway as Gabriel's. Sandalphon immediately joined Gabriel in panicking. Uriel called them both hopeless, while Michael picked up the child.

Michael actually had some idea of what to do with a small child, and soon enough Query's distressed wails quieted down to a discontented whimper, and the archangel was able to ask the child what was wrong.

Michael was also baffled by the term "snekfast" at first, but with further questioning she determined that the child was hungry.
