A/N: This is something that happened pretty early on in the game, and I made a note of it but didn't get around to actually writing out as a chapter until now.

- Geralt's Diary: And All I Got Was This Piece of Bread -
I stumbled across the lair of an elemental that was so much higher leveled than me that I couldn't even tell what its level was. I tried to fight it anyway. That went about as well as you'd expect.
But it was guarding a treasure, and I really wanted the treasure, so I went close enough to it to get it to chase me, and then after I'd led it far enough away, I ducked out of its line of sight and doubled back to go get the treasure.
After all that effort, and since it was such a high level monster, I was expecting some really amazing treasure. When I opened the treasure box, all that was in there was a single piece of bread.
