![]() Author has written 16 stories for Twilight, Hunger Games, and House of Night. This is a picture of Liz Lemon. And yes, she is my hero. About me: Originally I came to this site to read Twilight stories. You see, I was full of rage and disappointment over the epic failure that is Breaking Dawn, and I needed to read stories that were less sucky then that flaming pile of garbage. Fortunate for me, there happens to be quite a few stories here that calmed my inner rage-a-holic, stories that gave our Leah a happy ending. And so, kids, all was well. For a while. But after reading so many stories, I thought I'd take a crack at this whole writing thing, see if I could write better then Stephenie Meyer. Unfortunate for me, I'm pretty sure I'd never get a thing published. So, no rolling naked in piles of money in my future. But, I still like writing, especially fanfiction, since it is really fun to dissect my favorite characters to see if I can't figure out what makes them tick. For instance, I still have a tiny obsession with the wolf pack--particularly Leah. I can't help but wonder what the hell ever happened to her. Sure, Stephenie Meyer says Leah loves being Jacob's beta and is super happy at the end of Breaking Dawn, but we all know better: She's pissed off. Particularly about the craptastic turn her life took. So, instead of waiting for Stephenie to start writing about Leah I've decided to pick up where Stephenie left off. So, most (or dare I say, ALL) of my fanfics revolve around Leah, the wolf pack(s) and daily life in La Push. Although, recently I've thought of branching out and writing other stuff (not in the Twilight universe). But I'm not going to start anything new until I get my butt in gear and finish all my unfinished stories. And even though I've done my research, I've had to fill in a lot of blanks. But I've tried to be true to Leah (or rather my idea of who she is based on info provided). I have a pretty rough idea about what makes Leah tick;why she does what she does, etc. In my mind, Leah Clearwater is a lot more complex then Bella Swan--by leaps and bounds. Leah is actually very delicate on the inside and that is why she comes across as a bit of a psychopath. She is not tough or scary. She's just angry, hurt and very very sad. She is lashing out at everyone because she is miserable with her life as it is (or as Adam Sandler says in The Wedding Singer "I want everyone to be miserable because I'm miserable"). If Leah was as tough as she wants everyone to think she is, she wouldn't have gone off the deep end like she did. Leah Clearwater's life is the polar-opposite of Bella Swan's at the end of Breaking Dawn (pretty much the whole series, for that matter). While, at one point, I believe she lead a semi-charmed life, she ended up losing most of what she held dear (Sam, her father, Emily as her bff, her privacy, her hair, possible future children...the list goes on and on...). All because the vampires settled in Forks. While Bella has every reason to love the Cullens, Leah has every reason to hate them. My first fanfics were difficult for me to write because, while I do relate well to Leah, I didn't know the inner workings of Leah Clearwater. So I'm not pleased with my early stuff. But I've decided to keep all of my stories up so I can see how my writing has evolved. A favorite story of mine is Being Embry Call, a one-shot,--though I never really edited it all that well (note to self: go back and edit)--because it was the first time I felt as though a character was speaking to me while I was writing. I really liked how the story unfolded by itself, because really, I had no idea it would end up the way it did. And yeah, it was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Anyway, I've come to appreciate exactly how much work Stephenie Meyer--and all authors, for that matter--put into each and every one of her novels (but I still think Breaking Dawn was really, really bad--I'm talking Epic Levels of Fail that will be tough to top). Oh, and, I am not a fan of imprinting. In fact, the whole concept bugs the crap out of me. So yeah, none of my stories will be pro-imprinting. That is to say, my characters will be fighting against the foolishness that is the imprint. Have a problem with that? Write your own story (or just read Breaking Dawn over and over again). Moving on... I just wanted to promote some of my favorite fan fiction written by other authors. I know I have a 'favorite stories' link down there but I'm promoting my absolute favorites here: Waiting for the Sky to Fall By: Kobe Grace Singular Solar Eclipse By: HM Grayson Endless Daylight By: Princess Bertha Red Sky at Morning By: Princess Bertha East By: princesswingnut P.S. Click here to listen to a few of the songs that inspire many of my stories - I picked more mellow music then Mrs. Meyer would because this is Leah's story, and in my mind, Leah is much more fragile then Bella, Edward, or Jacob are. BTW, there are more songs (a lot more) but this is the stuff that inspires me the most, RIGHT NOW.). |
