AN: This chapter isn't going to be a long one because of how busy I am at work. Honestly, summer is the worst time for me and I can't wait until its over. Still, I didn't want to leave you without an update so here is something small for you guys. Next chapter will be longer I promise that.

Disclaimer: I do not own The Amazing World of Gumball, nor do I own Alaska who is the character of Amethyst Wereraven. This story is adopted from her own "Dragon Rider" story.

After more time had passed, the citizens of Elmore eventually went back to their daily lives despite the new changes that had occurred. Gumball was finally able to show his face around without cameras or news crews hounding him although there were a few little kids who wanted to know what it was like to almost get eaten or rescued by the Dragon Rider. Still, now that he was free to roam around again, Gumball decided to take this opportunity to show Alaska around town. With her size now like that of a common stuffed animal, it was easy to hide her in a backpack or pretend she was just some toy if people got really curious.

It also felt good to go around to his favorite places and hang out with his friends and girlfriend. Sure, he had to do his Dragon Rider training once and awhile, but it was a small price to pay for the ability to walk around in public again. Even if he was regularly putting bath salts in his tub to help him deal with the burning muscle and bone pains he was getting on a daily basis from said training.

"...and thus the point of history is pointless because everything always repeats itself and we're doomed to never learn from our mistakes," Miss. Simian lectured from her desk before going on about more garbling nonsense that made the students in the classroom all moan like zombies. Even Fred, the actual zombie, seemed to be rotting even faster than normal in the back.

Gumball was starting to wish he hadn't come out that he was alive, if only to stop going to school. His recent near-death experiences were not enough of an excuse to slack on his school work according to his mother, and so he was forced to return to his prison cell that was his desk. Still, he was able to avoid getting any homework or tests he missed due to his "traumatic experience".

Finally, the bell rang and Gumball was the first one to zip out of the door and into the school hall before he could hear anymore of the evil demon monkey from Hell. He quickly made for his locker where he opened it only to avoid a small burst of flames that nearly burned his fur off. Narrowing his eyes, he was about to speak to the creature in his locker when he noticed that Teri was looking at him from the other side of the lockers with a raised eyebrow. Grinning nervously, Gumball rubbed the back of his head. "Um, my textbook suffers a case of uhhh spontaneous combustion?"

"Right..." Teri muttered before walking away while rolling her eyes.

Sighing in relief, Gumball glared at an equally glaring Alaska who didn't look too pleased at her big brother. "Watch the fire, Alaska. You almost burned my face off. And got exposed."

"Well, sorry for not feeling in a good mood when you've forced me to sit here for the past eight hours," Alaska grumbled before sticking her tongue out. "Also, get new gym socks. They smell like sweat and rotten cheese."

"Look, you wanted to come with me to school," Gumball said as he got his backpack and opened it for Alaska to crawl inside. "You insisted on coming because you thought it would be interesting."

"Well, I meant by exploring the place! Now that I'm small, I can crawl around and sneak past people!" Alaska argued from inside.

"Not everyone is bigger than you, Alaska," Gumball explained quietly as he passed Mr. Smalls. "We got a walking potato, a banana, and a winged eyeball with mental powers that can shatter minds. I think they would be able to see you clearly."

"...you have a flying eyeball with psychic powers as a student?" Alaska asked in disbelief. "How can such a thing even be born? Like were his parents also floating eyes or-"

"There are some things that, I think, need to not be asked because the answers may be worse than the question," Gumball interrupted as he noticed Darwin and Anais walking towards him. "Hey, gang. We ready to have some fun in the afternoon to numb our brains until we forget all we learned?"

"Says you," Anais snorted. "Unlike you two, I listen in class."

"That's 'cause you're lucky to be born with such a high IQ to the point that I sometimes wonder why you can't just go to a higher grade, and graduate early," Darwin pointed out.

"I'm not in that fast of a rush for college," Anais replied while sighing. "Especially with how expensive it is."

"Wish I could go to school," Alaska said, poking her head out of the backpack. "I miss learning. Don't ge tme wrong, learn from you three was fun, but I kinda wish I could do more."

"You mean learn from me?" Anais corrected her dragon sister.

"Hey, I was teaching her stuff long before you joined our little secret club," Gumball argued.

"Gumball, you told her that the moon was made of cheese when you were in the fourth grade," Anais replied, deadpan.

"Wait, it's not made out of cheese?!" Darwin asked in horror as he put his fins to his head. "My entire mind has been blown!"

Anais raises an eyebrow at her adopted brother before shaking her head. Sometimes she was thankful she got her mother's genes more than her father's. Okay, more like everyday she was counting her blessings, but she was trying to be nice.

"Anyway, can we do something fun? Both to deal with all the massive boring school stuff and so Alaska can see more of the outside world?" Gumball asked.

"Alright, let's head to the mall and see what's there," Darwin suggested. "That place has everything."

"Yeah! Let's go!" Alaska cried out.

"Did you just hear a roar?" A student nearby asked, as a few others looked around.

Gumball, Darwin and Anais quickly went "sshh" to Alaska who muttered apologies before they took off before people could ask questions.

"Wow! Look at that thing! And that! Oh my gosh I want to see it all!" Alaska cried out in joy from the backpack.

"I told you the mall was a good first place to show her around," Darwin said with a smirk as he, Gumball, and Anias walked around one of Elmore's most popular hang out sites. Alaska had sparkles in her eyes as she saw this wonderful place for the first time in her life.

Gumball couldn't help but smile upon feeling her emotions. One of the things he always felt bad about when raising Alaska was that she couldn't see the rest of the world like he could. She always wanted to go and see the sights, experience the things normal people do, or have a part in one of his crazy adventures. Yet, despite the amazing world he lived in, dragons didn't exist and it was his fear of her being hurt or captured that prevented him from taking her out into the public. But now, seeing his sister all happy and excited, it was like looking at a little baby dragon all over again.

"I still think we should have brought E-4 with us," Anais said, looking around while making sure nobody was focusing on them. "At least to keep you out of trouble."

"Oh, come on," Gumball said, waving his hand in the air. "E-4 doesn't need to follow us 24/7. Sure we could have said he was Bobert's cousin or something, but I think we could use a break from training."

"Especially since he had us running down a mountain with giant boulders after us," Alaska grumbled as she crossed her arms. "I had to stay small and not use my wings the entire time."

"So what do you want to do first? Get a bite to eat? See a movie? Or wander around until we see something interesting?" Darwin asked with a smile. "Personally, I could go for some lunch. Especially since Mr. Dad ate all the eggs and bacon this morning."

"I swear, one of these days, we're going to learn our father's having a heart attack and none of us are going to be phased by it," Anais whispered, shaking her head. "But I could go for a salad."

"Alright, food court it is!" Gumball proclaimed as they made their way towards the escalator to get to the next floor. Unbeknownst to any of them, however, they were being watched by a dalmatian in what appeared to be normal clothing and reading a paper on a bench. However, he had a pair of shades on him that was eyeing directly at the three.

"They're heading to the food court," The dalmatian whispered to himself seemingly, but hidden under his collar was a microphone. "Should I follow?"

"Do so, but subtle."

Agent Blue Hound watched on the monitor inside the room he and Agent Red Tail were sharing where they had a clear view of their current target: Gumball Watterson. Although he was originally Zach Watterson, his parents legally changed his name to the nickname that everyone in town seemed to call him. Though, what kid wanted to be called "Gumball" was Blue Hound's guess.

"So you think we should be following this kid?" Agent Red Tail said, leaning on the table while her tail flickered back and forth. "Do you suspect him to be the Dragon Rider?"

"No," Ange Blue Hound answered while lighting up another cigarette. "However, he's had two encounters with these monsters, along with his siblings and his girlfriend. Plus, based on the information we've looked up on him it seems trouble has a way of finding this kid."

Agent Red Tail snorted as she pulled out a large file and opened it. "I'll say. They even have him listed as an 'Emergency Response' involving anything that has to deal with him. I still can't believe he actually turned his town into a real life video game. I don't know if I'm jealous or worried."

"Either way, strange stuff happens to this Gumball Watterson, so I'm going out on a limb and saying if we follow him we might get a lead on what's going on," Agent Blue Hound replied, letting out a puff. "We also put agents on his girlfriend, a few of his friends, and his parents. Hopefully, we'll get something."

"And if not?"

"Not our taxes paying for this."
