The Journey Begins
Three kids were watching the Pokémon League Finals on TV
"This is very amazing, I can't wait to become a Pokémon Trainer." A boy named Ritchie said
"Yeah, I'm excited to become a Pokémon Coordinator" A girl named Mallow said excitedly
"Bounsweet." A fruit-like Pokémon named Bounsweet said
"What about you, Ash?" Ritchie asked
"I'm hoping to win both the Grand Festival & Pokémon League." Ash said
"Come on, use Sleep Talk." A parakeet-like said to the TV "Darn it, he returned Nidorino."
"Sorry Chatot, he probably didn't teach Nidorino Sleep Talk." A Female Meowth said before thinking "I hope I get a chance to compete in a contest"
"Meowzie has a point." Mallow said
"Trainers like these are very sloppy these days, I certainly hope you won't be like that Ash." Chatot said
"Don't worry, Chatot, I won't." Ash chuckled
"Ruff Ruff!" A Shiny canine-like Pokémon called Rockruff barked as it sat on Ash's lap
"I guess you'll be cheering me on, Huh Blue?" Ash said as he petted Blue's head
"Ruff." Blue barked
After the finals were over
"Wow, that was awesome." Ash said
"Yeah, I'm glad that guy won." Ritchie said
"He just got lucky because of that Onix of his." Chatot said with stubbornness
"Kids, it's time for bed." Ash's Mom Delia said.
"Oh right, I have to get home." Ritchie said as he stood up "See you guys tomorrow."
"Bye Ritchie, get home safely." Ash said as Ritchie left
"Let's get ready for bed, Ash." Mallow said "Tomorrow's the big day."
"Right." Ash nodded
Ash & Mallow slept in sleeping bags to get ready for tomorrow. The next morning as the sun rised
*Beep!* *Beep!*
Ash Ketchum & Mallow yawned as he turned off his alarm clock
"Well, today's the day, Mallow." Ash said as he got out of bed
"Yay." Mallow said excitedly
Ash got dressed in a black short sleeved shirt with a Charizard on It with a red denim jacket over it, blue plants, green & white shoes, red fingerless gloves, a Pokémon League Expo Hat, a Poké Ball necklace which was a gift from Mallow. Mallow was wearing a pink tank top with a green denim jacket over it, green shorts, green shoes & a Love Ball necklace which was a gift from Ash. After they got dressed, they went downstairs & saw his mother Delia Ketchum making breakfast
"Morning Ash, morning Mallow." Delia said
"Morning Mom." Ash said
"Are you two excited about today?" Delia said
"I sure am." Ash said "I'm gonna catch a whole lot of Pokémon & become a Pokémon Master."
"Yeah, & I'm gonna catch a lot of Grass Types." Mallow said
"That's good to hear." Delia smiled "Go on & eat your breakfast, you can't travel without an empty stomach."
After Ash & Mallow ate breakfast, they headed to Professor Oak's Lab where they met Ritchie. Ritchie was wearing a green short sleeve shirt with a Charmander on it with a light blue denim jacket over it, blue pants, blue shoes, & a Hat.
"Professor Oak, We're here." Ash said
"Hello there, Ash, Mallow, Ritchie." Oak said "You're just in time."
"Yep, & We're ready to choose our first Pokémon." Ritchie said
"Splendid & there's someone who wants to see you, Ash." Oak said
They went to the living room & saw a man with maroon hair, green eyes, & wear a Pokémon Professor outfit
"Uncle Cerise." Ash said surprisingly
"Hello Ash, it's good to see you." Cerise smiled
"What are you doing here?" Ash asked
"I just thought it would be nice to visit my nephew on the day he becomes a Pokémon Trainer." Cerise said "Also, there's something I wanna ask you after Oak & I give you your first Pokémon."
"Hey." A voice said
Everyone & saw Professor Oak's grandson, Gary Oak.
"Dang it, can't believe you guys got here before I did." Gary complained
"No use in complaining about it, Gary." Oak said as he pulled out 4 Poké Balls "Now, let's get started."
Oak sent out 4 Pokémon
"Charmander." The first Pokémon said
"Bulbasaur." The second Pokémon said
"Squirtle." The third Pokémon said
"Pikachu." The fourth Pokémon said
"These four Pokémon are Charmander who is a Fire Type, Bulbasaur who is a Grass Type, Squirtle who is a Water Type, & Pikachu who is an Electric Type." Oak said
"Ladies first, Mallow?" Ash asked Mallow
"Okay, I'm going with Bulbasaur." Mallow said
"Bulba." Bulbasaur smiled as it jumped into Mallow's arms
"Ash, which Pokémon will you choose?" Cerise asked
"Well, lately I didn't what Pokémon to choose." Ash said "But after seeing the fourth option, I've made my decision & I choose Pikachu"
"Pika." Pikachu said happily as it jumped on Ash's shoulder
"I'm gonna go with Charmander." Ritchie said
"Char." Charmander said excitedly as it jumped into Ritchie's arms
"I'm gonna name you Zippo." Ritchie smiled
"Heh, you guys are lucky that I was going with Squirtle anyway." Gary smirked
When Professor Oak & Cerise gave them their Pokédex & Poké Balls
"Ash, Oak & I would like to put something special in your Pokédex." Cerise said as he pulled out a Poké Ball "Come on out Rotom."
Cerise sent out a Pokémon named Rotom
"Rotom." Rotom said as it linked into the Pokédex
Suddenly the Pokédex gained eyes & a mouth
"Rotom Dex, reporting for duty." It said as it saluted
"Wow, that's awesome." Ash said in amazement
"Rotom Dex, show Ash what you can do." Oak said
"Yes sir." Rotom Dex nodded as it scanned Pikachu
Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon, an Electric Type. This Pokémon has electricity-storing pouches on its cheeks. These appear to become electrically charged during the night while Pikachu sleeps. It occasionally discharges electricity when it is dozy after waking up.

Known Moves: Thunder Shock, Growl, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Double Kick, Thunder Wave, Electro Ball, Thunder Punch, Reversal, & Volt Tackle
"How come that loser gets a special Pokédex & not me." Gary thought with jealousy
"Also, there's something I wanna offer you." Cerise said
"What's that?" Ash asked
"Well, I'm offering to keep the Pokémon you've caught at my laboratory." Cerise said
"Really?" Ash said surprisingly
"Yes, once you've caught more than 6 Pokémon, you can send them to my laboratory so I can watch over & study them. You can also call me when you're ready to switch Pokémon." Cerise said "How's that sound?"
"Sounds like a great deal." Ash said
After they left the lab, Gary & Ritchie set off on their journey as Ash & Mallow went to Ash's house where Delia, Chatot, Meowzie, & Blue we're waiting for them
"Hey Ash, did you get your Pokémon?" Delia said
"Yes Mom, meet Pikachu & Rotom Dex." Ash said
"Pika." Pikachu smiled
"Greetings Mrs. Ketchum, I am Rotom Dex, Ash's Pokédex." Rotom Dex said
"Well, it's nice to meet you, I'm Delia, Ash's mother & this is Chatot, Meowzie, & Blue." Delia said
"Ruff." Blue barked
"Hi." Chatot said
"Hello there." Meowzie said
"What?! A talking Meowth, how is that possible?!" Rotom Dex exclaimed
"Chatot was the one who taught me how to talk." Meowzie said
"Yep, I taught her everything I know." Chatot said
"Did you two pack everything you need?" Delia said
"Yes Mom, we're all set." Ash said
"Good, before you go, will you take Meowzie, Chatot, & Blue with you?" Delia said
"Sure." Ash said
Delia gave Ash Meowzie's diamond encrusted Luxury Ball, Chatot's Nest Ball, & Rockruff's Great Ball as Rotom Dex scanned the Pokémon
Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon, a Normal Type. Meowth withdraws its sharp claws into its paws to slinkily sneak about without making any incriminating footsteps. For some reason, this Pokémon loves shiny coins that glitter with light.

Chatot, the Music Note Pokémon, a Normal & Flying Type. It keeps rhythm by flicking its tail feathers like a metronome. It imitates human speech.

Rockruff, the Puppy Pokémon, a Rock Type, When it rubs the rocks on its neck against you, that's proof of its love for you. However, the rocks are sharp, so the gesture is quite painful
