Battle for Mewni - The Big Finale!
Without their king, the Mewman people had nothing left standing in Ludo's way. He did a complete overhaul of the castle decorating it with paintings of himself, he had his new insignia plastered all over the place, statues made, and he even had a song written about him. The current "King" was standing at on a balcony, the Mewman people gathered below, all of them listening to the song about Ludo, currently being sung by a child's choir.
~Born to the wild, a gift from above~
"~A story of triumph, a story of love~"
"~An army of rodents with he at the helm~"
"~He toppled the old king, brought peace to the realm~"
"~Handsome and fearless and brilliant and tall~"
"~Beloved by Mewmans, he tends to us all~"
"~Our dearest King Ludo, he tends to us all~"
"Ah, yes, this is wonderful. Let's hear it for Ms. Bucket and the Mewni's Youth Choir! Yeah?" Ludo said looking down at the Mewmans.
The people of Mewni glanced at one another and applauded tepidly. A set of rat guards gathered around them holding up spears in a threatening manner causing the people to cheer with much more vigor and enthusiasm.
"Good. Huh?" Ludo's hand wand glows and he looks at it. "Oh, you're right. You're right, they were a touch off-key."
He pointed his hand at the choir.
"Levitato!"
The children scream as they are sent flying off high into the sky.
"Singin' with the angels. Play me off, boys!" Ludo said gesturing to some rats on instruments.
With a proud smirk, Ludo walks back into the castle heading to an elevator. Manfred stood next to the lift awaiting orders.
"Throne room, sir?" Manfred asked
"Full steam, Manfred!" Ludo said
"Yes'm."
The elevator doors open and Ludo steps in with two rat guards.
"Hmm. Remind me to Levitato Manfred," Ludo said
As the elevator goes down soft music starts to play and Ludo hums along to the tune.
"That is, this is catchy."
As he was listening to the music a grate from the elevator ceiling opens and a large figure drops out. They grab both the rat guards disposing of them.
"Huh?"
Ludo turns around and lets out a scream seeing someone in a large crude rat costume. He grabs for the elevator's emergency phone yelling.
"Manfred! Manfred, my most trusted ally! I need you!" He shouted
The figure grabs the phone's panel and rips it right out of the wall. The elevator let out a ding as it reached its floor. As the doors opened the rat costumed figure kicked Ludo through the open doors and then they stepped out.
The person reached up removing the costume head, revealing one Star Butterfly.
"Where's my dad?" Star asked sternly
"Star Butterfly?" Ludo questioned with a scrunched brow.
"Where's my dad?!" Star shouted charging at Ludo.
"Are you out of your mind?" Ludo raised his hand casting a spell.
The top of the rat suit is vaporized, but Star is left unharmed. She rips off the rest of the suit lunging at Ludo tackling him. Ludo manages to get out from under Star, and raised his hand for another spell but pauses looking at his hand.
"Hmm? Hmm? Right now? But it's not a good time," He spoke to his hand.
"You're talking to your hand, dude," Star said confused and weirded out.
"Hold on! I have to take this." Ludo holds his hand up to his ear shaping it like a phone. "I...Look, this is not a good time to have this conversation."
As he walks a few feet away Giant Spider jumps on Star wrapping her up in webbing.
Ludo stops talking to his hand and looked at Star. "Okay, so my hand says I can't destroy you, so I have to put you in the dungeon."
"For the last time, where is my dad?" Star said struggling in her webby restraints.
"Didn't you hear the song? Ohhh. I defeated him." Ludo let out a small chuckle. "I Levitato'd him. And now I'm king."
Star raised a confused brow. "You what-a-ta-tay-to-ta-tah-to?"
"Levitato. Ta-tato. Tato! Levitato! You're the princess of Mewni, and you don't even know Levitato?" Ludo laughed
"You don't know, do you? You're being controlled, Ludo," Star said
"You're right. You're right, I am being controlled. Controlled by my lust for power!" Ludo said
"No, Ludo, you're being controlled by Toffee," Star corrected
"What? No, Toffee's dead! I did this. Me. See that?" Ludo gestured to one of his banners. "Me! Me! And now I'm doing this, too. Take her to the dungeon!"
Eagle flies by grabbing the web cocooned Star carrying her off.
"It's your waaaaaand!" Star cried out as she was taken away.
As the princess was hauled out of the room Ludo stared down at the gem deeply embedded in his hand.
The dungeon doors were slammed open and Star was tossed in. She was quickly grabbed by the rat guards and shackled up.
Star narrowed her eyes at the guard. "Ugh! You think you're so tough!"
The rats gave Star an angered squeak before exiting the room.
"Get back here, you jerks!" Star shouted
Two rat guards were posted outside the doors of the dungeon, none of them paying attention as Star kept shouting.
As one of the rat guards glanced to the side his partner was grabbed and pulled away. When he looked back he froze seeing a larger figure had replaced the other guard, the person wearing a mouse style full-body costume.
Star stopped her shouting as she heard fighting coming from outside the dungeon doors. Only a few seconds pass before the dungeon door opened and in stepped the mouse costume-clad person. Star raised a confused brow as the person grabbed the head taking it off.
"Marcia?" Star said
"Star!" Marcia smiled
She stepped fully out of the costume and brought out a key unlocking Star's restraints.
"Your back! I was so worried! It's a terrible time for a reunion but I'm still glad to see you!" Marcia said
"Marcia!"
Star smiles as she and Marcia embrace in a joyous hug. As they pull away Star hears an odd sound coming from Marcia's stomach.
"Your stomach just made a weird noise," Star said
"Yeah, that was supposed to be a surprise." Marcia unzips her sleeveless hoodie revealing a crushed box of cereal. "I brought you this part of a care package for you. A box of Captain Blanche's Sugar Seeds. Sorry, there's none left. Me and your dad ate 'em all when we were locked up in the dungeon."
"Aw, man, you guys got to eat cereal together in the dungeon? Jealous," Star said
"Star, your dad, he-"
"Yeah, I know. Ludo tev-a-tay-tato-ta-potato'd him. If Ludo mastered it, it can't be dangerous," Star said
"I think it's kinda bad, Star. I saw you dad get launched in the sky, maybe even space," Marcia said
"Marcia, honestly, he's been through worse." Star gave a small somewhat dark chuckle. "Way worse. I think we have bigger problems right now."
"Well, you're in luck, Star." Marcia purses her lips and starts making bird calls.
When nothing happens she looks up before making the bird calls again.
"Come on, guys, we practiced this." Marcia huffs. "Mourning dove!"
"That's not what doves sound like on Mewni," Foolduke said
"Argh! Just get down here," Marcia said
The vent shaft opens and out drops Foolduke, Ruberiot, and Mime Girl.
"Star, allow me to introduce…" Marcia pulls out a beret placing it on her head. "la resistance!"
She pulls out a map unfolding it and placing it on the ground.
"The easiest way to depose a ruler is to destroy his credibility. So," Marcia pulled out a small device. "This virtual pet will represent Ludo. And this 650 dollars is us. And this feather is bird and spider. Normally, they're always with him or nearby, except bird and spider break to feed every five hours. When he's alone, we take this air duct to the throne room. And that's when Foolduke hits him with-"
"Rubber chicken!" Foolduke smiled pulling the prop out.
Marcia gave her a flat look. "Nope."
"Uh, how about whoopee cushion?" Foolduke said
Marcia facepalmed. "No, we talked about this before. Ruberiot?"
"I have a ripping parody song I've been working on," Ruberiot said
Cue second facepalm from Marcia.
Star crossed her arms. "He is great at ruining people's lives with songs. Marcia, it seems like you guys are just kinda playing pranks."
"Yeah, we're still working on that payoff part." Marcia leaned in close to Star. "You do see what I'm working with right?" She whispered, gesturing a thumb to the trio.
Star looked and nodded her head. "Yeah, I see yah. Okay, look, what you're doing here is, like, totally super-admirable, and Marcia, that beret is like super cute on you, but Ludo is not the problem here. Toffee is controlling him."
"Wait Toffee?! As in the guy who blew up, Toffee!" Marcia said
"Yup," Star said
"What is he-How is he doing it after he got blown up?" Marcia questioned
"He's in Ludo's h-"
Star was cut off by the dungeon doors swinging open. There stood Ludo holding a tray of tea.
"Actually, Star, I was thinking ab-"
When he sees the others in the room he drops the tray.
"Guards!" Ludo shouted
Rats storm the room and the next thing everyone knows, the entire group was chained to the wall, all but Star that is.
"You'll never silence the resistance!" Ruberiot exclaimed
"You!" Ludo pointed at Star. "You're coming with me! Levitato."
Ludo cast his spell and Star is lifted off her feet.
"Whoaaah! What the heck?" Star swung her arms and swam mid-air confused. "Oh, of course."
Ludo leaves the room taking Star with him.
Marcia let out a sad sigh. "I've been imprisoned far too much for a girl my age."
Seeing as they were changed up Ruberiot, Foolduke, Mime Girl, and Marcia, only had one weapon at their disposal. Their voices, well minus Mime Girl.
"We are the resistance! We remain insistent!"
The group continued to chant loudly until the rats came in the room, one now wearing Marcia's beret and they were obviously peeved by the shouting.
"We're the resistance!"
"You can't silence the resistance! And gimme back my beret," Marcia snapped at the rats.
The rats squeak angrily and approach Marcia brandishing their spears.
"Wait, why are you...?" Marcia pulled her head back as the rat shoved the spear close to her face. "Actually, the resistance can be quieter."
"Be brave, Marcia! You may fall, but the resistance lives on!" Ruberiot said
"What?! Why just me?" Marcia cried
The spear gets closer to Marcia's face and her fear starts to turn to anger.
"I. Can't. Stand. Rats!"
Marcia's necklace glows brightly and her eyes go wide with an animalistic feral like glint. She lets out a hiss that easily startles and scares the rats, causing them to take several steps back from the girl, which puts them directly in the pathway of an unseen intruder. The rats are grabbed and beaten up before being tossed away at a wall, their furry bodies breaking through and creating an escape hole.
"Karate girl!"
Marcia gasped happily, "Buff Frog!"
"And…" Buff Frog steps aside to reveal Moon.
"Marcia!" She exclaimed
"Queen Moon?!" Marcia said
Moon runs over to the girl and her cheeks glow. She raises a hand and swiftly chops through Marcia's chains.
"Where's Star?" Moon asked
"Ludo took her. We have to find him before he does something awful," Marcia said
"What about," Buff Frog gestures behind him. "Arts-and-crafts friends?"
Marcia looks at the three before turning away. "The resistance will live on without me."
"Aw," Ruberiot said
"What?" Foolduke said
Mime Girl remains silent but she starts to cry.
Moon, Marcia, and Buff Frog exit through the hole, the monster grabbing the two women hopping from balcony to balcony. He gets to the last one but almost misses it clinging to the edge.
"Star!" Moon exclaimed, pulling herself up.
Marcia climbs off Buff Frog and the monster pulls himself up. The three look across the way to see Star standing on the balcony of an adjacent tower, Ludo right next to her.
Star turns to the three giving them a sad smile. "Hey, Mommy. Hi, Marcia."
There's a hollow neigh as the ghost of a horse exits Ludo's wand hand.
"I, uh...I'm sorry, you guys," Star said
Moon leans against the edge, tears welling up. "The...The Whispering Spell. No! Star! You get...you get away! You run away from there!"
"It's too late, Mom," Star said
"So does this mean that everything's back to normal?" Ludo asked Star with a big grin.
"It's not over yet," Star said
"What do you mean it's not-"
The wand gem illuminates brightly before exploding, taking the entire tower, including Star and Ludo with it.
"No!" Moon shouted
"Star!" Marcia cried out.
"No, no, no! Buff Frog, we have to go now!" Moon said
Buff Frog picks the two up again and makes his way down to the large crater, where the tower once stood.
"Star! Star!"
Moon starts digging through rubble trying to locate her daughter. She pushes away a chunk of the tower debris to reveal Ludo. Moon glares with tears in her eyes and picks up Ludo shaking him.
"Ludo! Where's Star?" Moon said
Ludo's eyes flutter open revealing pink orbs.
"Where is my daughter?" Moon said
"Mom! Mom, mom! I'm in here!" Ludo spoke with Star's voice.
"Star? Is that you?" Moon questions
"Yes, it's me!"
Moon hugs Ludo's body. "Oh, thank goodness! Oh!" She places a kiss on Ludo's head.
"Mom, stop it." Star giggled
"Oh, Star! Where are you?" Moon asked
"Well, I-I'm totally fine, but, uh, but, ah...I don't exactly know where I am," Star said
"That's okay, sweetie. The important thing is, you're safe. Just stay right there. And no matter where we'll find you," Moon said
As she spoke Ludo's eyes started to flutter before closing completely.
"Star? Are you still there?" Moon asked but she received no response.
Ludo's eyes started to reopen but instead of pink, they were green.
"Hello Moon," Ludo smirked but this time it was Toffee's voice that filtered out.
"Toffee," Moon gasped
Ludo's body lifts out of Moon's hands floating in the air before the trio.
"Give us back Star," Moon said
"Oh, of course. But I'd like something from you first. Something that belongs to me." Toffee held up Ludo's hand revealing a missing finger.
Moon glares at him but reluctantly pulls out the vial containing the finger.
"Take it."
She places the finger in Ludo's hand and as he closes his fist the finger reattaches to his hand. Ludo smirks before his eyes got dark and empty.
Suddenly Ludo's arm shoots out and starting from the missing finger Toffee starts to reform around Ludo's body. Marcia, Moon, and Buff Frog all watch with wide eyes as the lizard forms fully. When he's whole again Toffee examins his body, everything back in place, he was even wearing his business suit.
Toffee looks to the trio before he gags and coughs. He opens his mouth and vomits out Ludo.
"Yeech," Ludo moaned curled up and covered in a dark bile.
"Where's my daughter?" Moon said
"Where's Star?!" Marcia shouted
Toffee extended his hand out which had the cursed half of the wand gem in it. He closes his fist crushing it.
"She's gone."
With that said Toffee turns casually walking away.
Buff Frog and Marcia gasp but the Queen remains silent. Her shock and sadness quickly turn to anger as she clenches her fist. Dark tendril veins start to run up her arms extending past the long gloves she wore, and the gem-shaped marks on the cheeks go from pink to an ominous dark purple.
Moon lets out an angered sorrowful cry before running at Toffee attacking him. Toffee lets out a sigh easily deflecting Moon's attacks. Moon cries out as she pulls back and pulls out Star's wand, placing it directly on Toffee's chest.
"I call the darkness onto me from deepest depths of Earth and sea! From ancient evils unawoken, break the one who can't be broken! From blackest night I pledge my soul and crush my heart to burning coal! To summon forth the deadly power to see my hated foe devoured!"
The spell does nothing and Toffee just stares at Moon with an unamused flat look.
"Are you finished?"
A fist suddenly goes through Toffee's chest and Moon is surprised to find Marcia right behind the monster. The lizard frowns glancing over his shoulder at the crying girl, as his chest wound heals up.
"Give her back!" Marcia cried tears going down her cheeks. "Give. Back. Star!"
The jewel in Marcia's necklace glowed and red light shrouded Marcia's form. Her hair was blown back as Marcia let out a deafening roar, sounding very much like a lion.
Moon, although tears still going down her face, is surprised and taken aback by the power coming from Marcia.
Marcia clenched her fist and what looked like a giant clawed paw made of light surrounded it. She punched forward again this time her fist going through Toffee's stomach leaving behind a much larger hole.
Marcia huffed as she pulled back her hand and the red light died down. Marcia then felt incredibly drained and she's disheartened when Toffee's body easily heals his wound again.
Toffee fully turned to the girl scowling, looking a bit annoyed. He grabbed Marcia by the neck causing the girl to gasp as her air is cut off.
"Is your little temper tantrum over?" Toffee said
Marcia claws at the lizard's hands trying to break free. She's finally let go when Toffee throws her, sending her flying harshly into some rubble. Buff Frog gasped running over to Marcia checking over the girl.
Marcia groaned her body aching as the jewel on her necklace glowed and pulsed. As Buff Frog attended to Marcia, Toffee turned facing Moon again. He grabs the Queen by the shoulders and shoves her back causing her feet to dig into the ground until she's buried up to her waist.
Seeing everything taken care of Toffee once again tries to leave but is stopped when something grabs his pant leg. He glances down to see Ludo.
"Please...just tell me. Did I have any part to play in this?" Ludo asked
"No," Toffee said
Ludo's mouth trembled as tears form and he lets go of Toffee.
"Karate girl."
Marcia jolts in her spot as someone claps in her face.
"Wake up. Uh, I think the queen, uh, needs help," Buff Frog said
He gestures to Moon, the woman still buried in the dirt holding Star's wand. Moon was trying to put the broken gem fragments back in the wand.
"Come on, come on. Why won't you fit? Come on," Moon mumbled crying.
"Queen?" Marcia asked, approaching the woman.
"M-Maybe if I-I put the wand back together, it'll, it'll, it'll bring her back. But this piece won't fit," Moon said
"Here." Marcia held up a fragment. "Try this one."
As the three tried to piece together the wand, the ground suddenly starts to shake. The wand levitates out of Moon's hand surrounded by a golden light. The remnant pieces of the wands gem float up and come together repairing itself. The newly formed gem goes into the wand and it takes on a new form. A hand reached out of nowhere grasping the wand and everyone gaps as Star appears, the princess shrouded in the same golden light.
Star's body dances in the air as she started to transform. She grows two extra sets of arms making six in total. The horns on her accessory headband grow longer and her hair goes up into two braided pigtails. Her outfit changes into a sunset style flowing dress. When Star opens her eyes they're bright and yellow, shaped like diamonds and large beautiful sunny wings spring forth from her back.
"Star!" Moon gasped happily
"Hi, Mom!"
As Star spoke her voice came out distorted, somehow being both deep and high pitched.
"Hi, sweetie. Don't you look lovely," Moon said a bit confused but still happy.
Star's smile drops. "Where's Toffee?" She asked in a much more threatening tone.
Moon patient ahead to where Toffee was still nonchalantly walking away, completely unaware of the powerful princess behind him. He pauses as if finally sensing the girl but it's too late. Star points her wand at Toffee, and just as he turns around he's met with a powerful blast of golden light. He yells and shouts as his body disintegrates. When the attack is over the only thing left of Toffee is bones and dark ooze.
Star's form starts to float down as she slowly starts to go back to normal. She lands on the ground face down, staying still for a moment before her head shoots up, the princess letting out a gasp.
"Star!"
Buff Frog, Moon, and Marcia all run to Star dogpiling the girl in a hug.
"Oh, my baby!" Moon said
Star smiled looking up to everyone. "Hi."
Everyone smiled back. "Hi."
The heartfelt moment is broken by a disturbing squelching noise. Everyone looks to see the oozy remnant of Toffee dragging himself towards the group.
"You think you've won? Ha! You don't make the plans! I do! Me! Only I know how this all turns out!"
Toffee crawls slowly to the group but he's only able to pull himself forward once before a pillar falls atop of him, crushing him. As the dust from the impact of the pillar clears, out steps Ludo, hands raised as he bore a smirk.
"It turns out you're dead. That's what you get! Hey! Look! Look what I did! All by myself!" Ludo smiled holding up one of Toffee's eyes. "'Oh, no! I can't see a thing!' Ha-ha!"
"Do you think he's really gone?" Marcia questioned
"Looks pretty gone to me," Buff Frog said
"Can't get more gone than that!" Ludo laughed
As the group stared at the fallen pillar none of them saw Moon wince in pain. She pulls down her gloves to reveal the purple tendrils angrily staining her arms.
"Eclipsa!" Moon whispers before running off.
"Star, I've never seen you do a spell like that before," Marcia said
"Yeah, I'm not sure what that was," Star said
"Okay, princess. I think we can both agree that I've got some stuff to work on," Ludo said holding up a pair of dimensional scissors.
"You want me to cut off the beard?" Star questions
"No! Throw me back in the void. I need...to find myself," Ludo said handing the scissors over.
Star is perplexed by Ludo's request but takes the scissors opening a portal.
Ludo jumps into Star's arms. "I'm ready."
"Do you, uh, need a minute with them?" Star questions
Ludo looks over to see Giant Spider and Eagle.
"What, them? I'm sorry. I have intimacy issues. Try to move on," Ludo said to them.
"Okay. Well, here goes," Star said
Ludo cries out as he's tossed into the portal. Star uses her new wand to make a bag of Gold'n Crispz chips and throws it into the portal too.
"Good luck," Star said as the portal closed up.
Marcia walked up. "I'm sure if he survived once he can do it again."
"Yeah, you're probably right. Also Marcia when did you get those?" Star asked
"Get what?" Marcia asked
"Thooose," Star said pointing at Marcia's head.
Buff Frog stepped next to Star examing Marcia.
"Were those not always there? Girl looks same to me," Buff Frog said
"No, no, no, no, no!" Star shook her head. "I know one best gal pals and those were not always there."
"What?! What are you guys staring at?" Marcia asked
Star pulled out her compact phone using the mirror function before facing the mirror towards Marcia.
"What the?...Whauhhh! What are those?!" Marcia shouted, grabbing the mirror bringing it closer to her.
Resting atop Marcia's head was a cute little pair of fuzzy cat ears. The fur of the ears were black with red tips.
"Where did those come from?!" Marcia shouted
Star slowly reached up and gingerly poked one of the ears. Both girls jumped when the ear twitched.
"Ahhh they're real! I can feel them move! And what happened to my teeth!?" Marcia cried, finally noticing something off.
Marcia's canines had elongated a bit and grew shaper, coming to a fine point.
"Uhm Marcia." Star gestured behind Marcia and the brunette looked over her shoulder.
"Ahhh! There's a tail too! I have a tail!" Marcia shouted
Protruding from Marcia's tail bone was a long black cat's tail, the tip of it red, the pattern matching the ears on her head.
"Aww, Marcia you look so cute!" Star gushed
"Star! This is not normal!" Marcia said
Marcia continued to freak out until the sound of singing drowned her out.
"~An army of eagles with he at the helm~"
"~Rescued the children and brought us all home~"
Everyone looked to the sky to see the kids Ludo had sent flying into the sky riding atop a giant eagle, a large flock of the birds coming their way.
"~Handsome and fearless, valiant and strong~"
"~Our dearest King River we praise him in song.~"
Riding atop the biggest bird was River, the King throwing his arms up cheering at the top of his lungs.
"Whoo! Woo-hoo!"
"Papa!" Star cheered running over as the eagles landed.
"That was amazing!" Marcia said
"Ever since Ludo Levitato'd me, I've been living among the eagles. They made me their king, too! Where is Moon Pie?" River said
"I don't know. She was just here," Star said
Moon was out of breath as she ran. She raced all the way to Rhombulus' crystal room, which housed the frozen Eclipsa. Moon starred up panting, as she made sure that the former Queen was still encased in the crystal.
Seeing that Elipsa was still frozen and the crystal intact, Moon let out a relieved chuckle and turned, walking away. When she's just out of sight a small crack forms on the crystal.
