Chapter 11: Meeting the Wizard King and Promotions
"Huh lord Julius wants wants to meet us and invite us to the valor ceremony" Asta said to Fuegoleon, currently Asta along with Leo, Ruben, Leah and Margret was inside Fuegoleon office and after breakfast Fuegoleon had told the five of them to come to his office as he had something to discuss with them.
"Yes that is correct even though I gave the report to lord Julius about your mission in the dungeon he still wish to meet with the ones who was assigned with the dungeon" Fuegoleon said.
"No doubt he probably wants to meet Asta and wanting to know more about his anti-magic" Fuegoleon thought as he mentally shook his head at the wizard kings antics.
"Wait a minute captain with the valor ceremony does that means that all of here has been promoted?" Ruben asked.
"Yes that's exactly it Ruben all of you have done an excellent job recently so much that the wizard king himself has recognized your efforts" Fuegoleon said.
"Really that's awesome but I just recently got here...I didn't feel like I did anything worthwhile" Asta said.
"Come on Asta you know that you worked harder then anybody else here since you became a part of our squad in my opinion you deserve this promotion" Leah said as she smiled at her friend.
"I agree" Margret said quietly as she gave Asta a small smile and Leo grinned and gave Asta a thumbs up and Ruben smiled a bit and nodded in agreement.
Asta smiled at his squadmates "thanks guys".
"With that said Asta Leo and Ruben you guys can stay here for a bit and meet up with the people who you went on the dungeon mission with in the mean time Margret Leah and I will go on ahead and wait until ceremony starts, does everybody understand" Fuegoleon said.
"Yes, sir!" everybody said.
"Good then everybody is dismissed Leah and Margret we will head out right now" Fuegoleon said said too the two ladies.
"Understood" Leah and Margret said.
After that Fuegoleon Margret Leah had left and made their way towards the site where the ceremony was in the mean time Leo, Ruben and Asta took the extra time to get prepare and get ready for their meeting with the wizard king and Asta was wondering just what Julius was like in person after hearing and studying about him.
After about an hour Leo, Asta and Ruben had started to leave the base and head own their way into meeting Julius and going to the ceremony after about a couple of minutes it wasn't long until Asta, Ruben and Leo were standing in front of the magic knight headquarters.
"Wow so this is the magic knight headquarters and I thought our base was huge" Asta said as he was looking at the large castle.
"Yes even I have to admit it is pretty impressive" Ruben said as he chuckled a bit.
"Well then we shouldn't keep the wizard king waiting lets get going" Leo said with a grin on his face, as the trio was walking they looked up ahead and saw Noelle, Yuno, Mimosa and Klaus.
"Oh hey guys!" Asta yelled as he saw his friends.
"Asta its been a bit over a week since we last saw you are you all healed up now" Klaus said as he went up to Asta as he was worried about him.
"Yeah I'm all better it's all thanks to you Mimosa thank you" Asta said as he gave Mimosa a smile and Mimosa blushed a bit which Noelle noticed.
"Oh i-it's no problem at all A-Asta" Mimosa said as she turned away from Asta much to his confusion.
"Hey Noelle, it's good to see you again where's Luck?" Leo said.
"Yes I thought for sure that Luck would be with you" Ruben said to Noelle causing the silva royal to sigh a bit.
"Well our captain pretty much told Luck that he couldn't go because he would just cause a ruckus during the ceremony, which I actually agree with so instead he went on another mission with another member of our squad Magna" Noelle said.
"That makes sense that was pretty wise of your captain to do that" Ruben said "perhaps I shouldn't judge Yami Sukehiro too harshly after all he is a captain despite his reputation" Ruben thought.
"Well I'm glad that your here Noelle, its good to see you again" Asta smiled at Noelle and Noelle blushed a bit.
"A-ah it's good to see you again as well Asta I'm glad that your all healed up" Noelle said.
"Yeah same here, I'm just glad your alright after what happened back at the dungeon" Asta said.
Asta then looked at Yuno and smiled as the two of them did a fist bump "your looking good Yuno I hope you haven't been slacking off because I'm getting stronger everyday" Asta said to his brother in arms and rival.
"Of course not, how can I be wizard king if I'm not getting stronger" Yuno said as he smiled at Asta.
"You got a point expect that I'm going to be the wizard king" Asta said.
"Heh as if" Yuno said.
After that moment the group was making their way towards the magic knight headquarters and during that time Noelle and Mimosa was walking together and Noelle noticed that something was up with her cousin.
"Mimosa is there something wrong?" Noelle asked her cousin.
"Well the truth is.,.every time I see Asta I just have this longing feeling in my heart and ever since the duengon I can't get him off my mind...what's happening to to me Noelle" Mimosa said as she blushed a bit.
Noelle widen her eyes as she realized that Mimosa has a crush on Asta.
"Really him?" Noelle said as she looked at Asta she really couldn't see why Mimosa would fall in love with a peasant "although he is pretty cute...wait what am I'm saying!" Noelle thought.
"Well his kindness is one of the reasons I like him" Mimosa said.
"Well...you might have a point...not to mention his muscles..." Noelle quietly said.
"Lets see it seems like the entrance is suppose to be here" Klaus said as he looked and he saw that Julius was in front of the entrance.
"How it's going young magic knights" Julius said causing Klaus Ruben and Leo to bow
"Lord Julius it's an honor sir!' Klaus said.
"It's you Julius Novachrono the 28th wizard king" Asta said causing Yuno to widen his eyes in shock that he was seeing the wizard king and that Asta was able to recognize him.
After that the magic knights were able to brief their mission with Julius.
"Good job getting this this magic is likely the most important thing" Julius said to Yuno.
"You can read it?" Yuno asked the current wizard king.
"A little bit" Julius replied.
"The most important thing that's pretty amazing Yuno" Asta said to his best friend and rival.
"Hey can you show me what this magic look like please!" Juius excitedly said to Yuno.
"I only been able to use it once in the dungeon...but I haven't been able to use it again since that day forgive me" Yuno said.
"Is that so that's too bad" Julius said as he had a disappointed look on his face.
He then smiled "so the wind sprit sylph has chosen him for this generation" Julius thought before saying this to Yuno and giving him back his grimiore.
"All I can say right now is that this magic will grow along with you and one day become something amazing, so treat it right" Julius said causing Asta to take out his Grimiore, he knows that Julius was really intelligent and was in simple terms a geek when it comes to knowing a lot about magic in general so he might know what the words in his grimiore mean.
"Um lord Julius there some unknown words in my grimiore I was hoping you can take a look and maybe try to read it" Asta said as he opened up his grimiore and showed some pages to Julius.
"Hmm this is totally unreadable...I've never seen this writing system before" Julius said to the young crimson lion king member.
"Really aww man well thanks to these words I can be able to use this" Asta said as he was able to take out his second anti magic sword.
"Ohh that's your second anti magic sword right!" Julius yelled in excitement into seeing Asta's recently new sword.
"The power of anti magic do you mind if I can hold your sword?" Julius said.
"Sure be my guest" Asta said as he handed the sword over to Julius.
"Woah it's so heavy!" Julius said as once he grabbed the sword he was barely able to lift it.
"Are you alright sire!" Klaus said to Julius.
"I'm surprise your able swing this thing around" Julius said however Yuno Leo and Ruben wasn't since they knew how hard Asta has trained his body everyday and he was pretty much a physical monster.
Julius then noticed something was off and he looked and saw that Asta second sword was absorbing his magic "it's absorbing my magic..." Julius thought and he smiled a bit.
"I see..." Julius said to himself before giving the sword back to Asta "thanks, here you can have your sword this isn't something I can handle haha" Julius said before saying to Asta.
"This is a sword that can only be handle by you since you have no magic" Julius said causing Asta to smile a bit.
"That aside you guys did some fine work out there everyone of you deserve your promotion I thank you on behalf of the kingdom" Julius said.
"Thanks lord Julius ummm...sorry about this but do you mind if I ask you something?" Asta said as he rubbed the back of his head.
"What do I need to do to become the wizard king?" Asta and Yuno asked at the same time.
Julius was surprise by the question before he smiled and said "oh so you guys are aiming to become the wizard king, well that's the way a true magic knight should be".
"I can't believe you guys would be so tactless to ask that to the current wizard king, listen the wizard king is someone with a benevolent heart that has the trust of the ctizen-" Klaus said but Julius stopped him from talking.
"That's not true it's results" Julius said as Asta and Yuno were in awe because his statement felt so powerful to them.
"You can't protect anyone with just pride, that comes after you've proven yourself with results" Julius said before he continued by saying.
"What the people want from someone with the title of wizard king is one simple thing, the results that prove they're the best, produce results, producing results is the only thing that counts" Julius said.
"Someone who can't produce results doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top" Julius said as Asta and Yuno clinched their fist.
"That's what I was hoping to hear" Asta and Yuno said at the same time.
Julius smiled "you have some promising kids William..., Fuegoleon..." Julius thought.
"Now then I've gather the members that have gathered the most stars here today for the medal presentation and your actually a part of them as well that's why you are here" Julius said.
"So tell me do you think you'll be able to produce more results then these guys" Julius said to Asta and Yuno as he open the door.
Once everybody was inside and Julius then sat down on his throne and he began to talk to the people that was promoted.
"Now then lets begin the valor ceremony Leo your magic like your brother is pretty powerful and you have gained a lot of reputation among the magic knights you have been promoted to first class intermediate magic knight keep up the good work" Julius said to Leo.
Leo smiled "thank you sir I promise that I will do my best" Leo said.
Margret your chain magic is very versatile and strong my advice is to try to be more out going with seven stars I promote you to first class senior magic knight" Julius said to Margret who simply nodded.
"Look at you Margret your moving on up in the world are you planning to be the wizard king like the host of that devil that can negate and erase magic?, gehehe" Lexion jokingly said to his host.
"Lexion you already know I don't have any desire to be the wizard king" Margret said to her devil.
"I know I was just messing with you but man these types of things are boring I hope something happens" Lexion said causing Margret to sigh a bit on how bored her devil easily gets.
"Ruben your standstone magic is fantastic and your creative as well and with five stars I promote you to fifth class senior magic" Julius said to Ruben.
Ruben nodded "thank you sir I will continue to hone my magic and represent the kingdom with pride" Ruben said.
"Leah your wind magic is also gotten powerful in the last year since you became a magic knight continue to grow and eventually you will rise through the ranks again with four stars I promote you to first class intermediate magic knight as well" Julius said to Leah who smiled "thank you, your majesty I will do my best to meet your expectations" Leah said.
"Asta your anti magic is pretty unique and you gained quite a reputation as you just started your magic knight career I can tell your going to have a bright future with five stars you have been promoted to fourth class intermediate magic knight keep up the good work and make sure you get good results" Julius said to Asta who grinned.
"Yes sir!" Asta said.
Once Julius finished with the crimson lions king he went to the other people who were promoted and it was during that time that Leah pointed out to Asta that her brother was also here and she pointed out to him to Asta and if Asta remembered Leah said that her younger brother was named was Rico.
Rico was a pale skinned young man who looked to be about sixteen years old he has long hair that was covering his right eye, he was wearing dark pants along with a white t-shirt and a purple jacket and he was wearing a brown belt and to the side he had a pouch that contain his grimiore. Asta saw that Rico had a expression that he would like to be anybody else but here but if he is Leah brother then he must be a cool guy.
"Now then great work all of you now then do enjoy yourselves with the food that I prepared with, I have some business to take care so please do enjoy yourselves" Julius said as he left the room.
After a couple of minutes everyone then began to go to some tables and began to eat and talk among themselves.
"Asta this is my brother Rico, Rico this is Asta he my friend and squadmate" Leah said as she was introducing Asta to her younger brother.
"Wow so your Leah younger brother huh you must be pretty strong to be in the silver eagles and to be just promoted to a senior class magic knight even though you been a magic knight for only a year" Asta said as he took a bite from the food he was eating.
"It's no big deal I wish we really didn't have a ceremony like this all of this is so troublesome" Rico said as he sighed a bit.
"You think that everything is troublesome bro" Leah said to Rico.
"Can you blame me sis I go on some crazy and troublesome missions...but anyway Asta it's nice to meet you...I'm surprise that your not effected by how kind of tense the room is" Rico said.
"Eh I can't really let that kind of stuff get to me anyway Noelle you alright, you look worried a bit" Asta said to Noelle.
"Oh...yeah I'm fine" Noelle said.
"H-hey Asta do you mind that I can eat with you?" Mimosa asked Asta with a blush on her face.
"Sure Mimosa I don't see why not the food here is pretty awesome it's just like the food they have back at our base" Asta said.
"Yes the food looks pretty delicious" Mimosa said.
"Dirty slum rat" a golden dawn member said.
"I can't believe that capatin Fuegoleon would choose him to bring him into his squad" one said.
"I can't feel any mana from I bet he got lucky in that dungeon" another one said.
"Even if he is a part of the crimson lions he doesn't get that he doesn't belong him I bet they only pity him all the time" another one said.
The crimson lions members were upset especially Leah Leo and Ruben Asta is a great member of their squad someone that everybody loves and respects even though he been at the squad for only a short time. He works just as hard as everybody else if not more and he is really a great person he doesn't deserve to be insulted like this. Not only that but they were in a way insulting Fuegoleon because he saw something in Asta that made him choose him to join their squad and Asta was proving their captain right and for the crimson lions nobody insults their captain.
"Man they're not even trying to whisper well it's nothing new I heard all of it before" Asta said as he continued to eat his food.
"Asta not bothered by them at all he must heard this type of talk everyday but he still not effected by it" Ruben said as he was in awe a bit by Asta having a level head about being insulted.
"He really doesn't let anything get to him all he wants to do is to work hard and achieve his goals and that his status as a peasant won't matter at all" Ruben thought and he smiled a bit "you really are amazing Asta" Ruben thought.
"Hey I really appreciate that you don't insult my friend and squadmate like that I'm surprise your not talking about Yuno he a peasant despite having the four leaf clover grimiore.
"Besides I went to two dungeon missions and Asta did way better then you and I did better then you in the last dungeon mission" Leo said with a smirk on his face.
"You have quite the mouth on you kid I'm surprise that you would defend such trash and for your information none of us expect anything from that dirty rat we'll be the ones to bring fruition to captain vengeance dreams" Alecdora said.
Asta only glared because he didn't like how they insulted Yuno but Yuno for the most part had a calm look on his face.
"You shouldn't speak like that-!" Klaus said as he was trying to defend Yuno but Alecdora stopped him.
"You're no different Klaus you feel no shame being in the same room as the rest of them?" Alecdora said but Klaus only looked down.
"Mimosa while in that dungeon you were immediately injured and had to retreat from the front line royalty of house vermillion that was beyond pathetic" Alecdora said.
"I'm really sorry" Mimosa said.
Asta narrowed his eyes and Leo growled a bit Mimosa healed Asta injuries if it wasn't for her Asta would be dead right now he has no right to insult her like that.
"No your the worst of the bunch isn't that right Noelle?" Noelle looked and saw that her older brother solid went up to her.
"Who's ever heard of something as shameful as not being able to control your magic I'm surprise the wizard king would promote you" Solid said.
"Solid..." Noelle said as she was hurt by her brothers words.
"Of course you'd be disowned yet you show your face here?" Nebula said.
"Nebula" Noelle said.
"Oh great..." Rico said as he sighed.
"Rico you were right about the Silva's" Leah said to her younger brother.
"Well Solid and Nebula are assholes but captain Nozel..." Rico then looked at his captain he knows that Nozel is prideful and arrogant but Rico can tell that there is more to his captain then from what he has seen of him, it's like he is carrying a great burden or something but what burden is Rico has no idea.
"Do you think your something special just because you were promoted or did you only come to throw dirt on the silva name you have no business here leave you loser" Nozel said to Noelle.
"Nozel..." Noelle said as she had a painful look on her face as she was about to turn around both Asta and Leo grabbed her hands.
"There no reason for you to turn your back on your siblings Noelle" Asta said.
"That's right you deserve to be here just as much as we do, we fought together in the dungeon so I know how strong you really are and if Luck was here he would agree" Leo said as he glared at the silva's.
"Asta, Leo" Noelle said as she was surprise that Leo and Asta would stand up for her.
"I'm sorry captain Fuegoleon but I need to say something since everybody was called out here I thought they would be really amazing I met some cool guys but the rest of you, you're all the same" Asta said as everybody was shocked but Margret, Leo, Leah, Ruben and Fuegoleon couldn't help but smile at Asta calling out those that insulted him and his friends.
"But they're all the same I've had enough about you guys talking about who does and doesn't belong just watch I'll-" Asta notices that the sand was forming around him but in just a moment he brought his grimiore out and took out his second sword and with multiple strikes with his sword he managed to destroy the sand easily.
"Don't you know it's rude to interrupt someone who is talking" Asta said to Alecdora.
"Impossible did he just erase my magic?" Alecdora said in shock of Asta cutting through his sand prison spell.
"Now then listen to what I have to say I will become the wizard king and I'm going to prove all of you wrong and you can bet on that!" Asta said as he pointed his sword at the crowd.
