The Army of Ash! Destroy Team Rocket!
Chapter 9: Sky High Aurora
For a moment, every single human and Pokemon outside stopped what they were doing, whether it be fighting or fleeing, to gaze upwards at the source of the monstrous roar that echoed throughout the mountainous terrain surrounding Team Rocket HQ. The long, massive body of Rayquaza twisted and turned as it soared over the evil complex, it's normally golden eye turned red from the weight of countless experiments, as well as the mind controlling effects of its custom made Pokeball.
Hun looked up at the Sky High Pokemon in awe and said, "Our Rayquaza. . . it's been a long time since we captured it. So that's what it looks like in flight. I'd forgotten . . ."
Atilla looked over at Professor Sebastian and asked, "You sure the boss is okay with you breaking out the biggest gun we got?"
The scientist gave a small smile and in his eerily calm, steady tone, "Giovanni entrusted me with full control over this Legendary Pokemon and any experiments performed on it. He also told me that in the event that the very continued existence of Team Rocket is threatened, that I may unleash Rayquaza's power as I see fit." Sebastian gestured to the massive army of invading Pokemon and said, "I do believe that this insolent disturbance qualifies as such."
Sebastian then turned to Goh and his two Pokemon. Cinderace's mouth was hanging open as he stared up at Rayquaza, while Raichu was shaking and cringing back in fear. As for Goh, his expression was unreadable as he too stared up in awe.
The Team Rocket scientist continued to smile as he raised his right hand and said, "And now, let the suffering of Team Rocket's enemies begin." Sebastian then shouted, "Rayquaza! Draco Meteor!"
A sphere of bright orange energy formed inside of Rayquaza's mouth. Rayquaza threw it's head upwards and fired the sphere into the sky, where it exploded and released a rain of glowing meteors down towards the ground. Not even the Pokemon in the air were safe, as the attack erupted so far up in the sky that even they were in the path of the destructive fallout.
Noivern flew around wildly do dodge the meteors, frantically flapping his wings as he cried out, "AHHH! We're all gonna die! Help me, Papa! Help me!"
Gliscor suddenly flew in and smacked the Dragon-type across the face. "Keep it together, man!" he shouted, "Don't embarrass Ash like that! As a former crybaby, listen to me when I tell you to SUCK IT UP!"
"Okay," Noivern said meekly.
Pidgeot used Quick Attack to weave in and out through the Draco Meteor, but many members of his flock weren't so lucky. He clenched his beak in rage as he waged many Pidgey and Pigeotto get knocked out of the sky by a meteor. Talonflame used Flame Charge to dodge the attacks as well and flew alongside him.
"Fighting Moltress was bad enough, but this is ridiculous!" Talonflame shouted.
"You fought Moltress?!" Pidgeot said with wide eyes.
"Over a volcano!"
"No way!"
"Yes way!"
"Will you two shut-up and focus!" Swellow shouted as he flew in with Corphish still riding on his back, "We need to get organized and take that Legendary down or else we're all gonna be the property of Team Rocket!"
Corphish glanced up at the incredible Dragon/Flying-type above and said, "I had better get a big, first class meal after all this! Oh, the things I do for Ash!"
Chaos reigned back on the ground. The Team Rocket Grunts decided to use this time to recall their Pokemon and retreat back inside as the invaders were forced to run away from Rayquaza's Draco Meteor barrage.
"Run away! Run away!" shouted the Tauros herd as any Pokemon who had chose to keep riding on them made the decision to leap off and run for cover. The only exception was Muk, whose Tauros simply laid down and hid underneath the Poison-type's massive body as he suddenly became grateful of the card he was dealt.
Snorlax and Melmetal were standing strong, punching out meteors as they fell.
"I can do this all day!" Melmetal boasted.
"I could do this in my sleep," Snorlax remarked.
"You'd get along well with Samson Oak's Komala," Melmetal replied.
Meanwhile, Goh's Farfetch'd swung his leek at falling meteors as he ran atop Ash's Donphan as he rolled along, asl the while trying to avoid running over the falling Flying-types.
One large explosion rang out, and both Swellow and Corphish fell out of the sky. Swellow landed hard and was knocked out, but Corphish tucked and rolled as he hit the ground, his tough exoskeleton absorbing the force of the landing.
Corphish breathed heavily as he got back up, only to look upwards and see a meteor headed straight towards him. At the last moment, a Psycho-Cut sliced and destroyed the meteor. Corphish turned to see Goh's Absol striding towards him stoically. Corphish blinked, then nodded and turned away with his head held high. Absol just huffed and rolled his eyes.
Sebastian took a sweeping glance across the area surrounding Team Rocket HQ, now covered with many small smoking craters. He then turned to look at Goh and said, "Now do you see? You have no hope. No chance. Nothing. You are nothing compared to Team Rocket. Make your choice, now: surrender or die."
Goh slowly looked down from Rayquaza and straight at the evil scientist. "I choose. . ." Goh said slowly, and then he pulled out a Pokeball and said, ". . .my final Pokemon." Goh threw his arm back and shouted, "I choose you: Suicune!"
Goh threw the Pokeball with all his might, and it opened and released the Legendary Aurora Pokemon. Suicune stood firm and let out a majestic roar as his ribbons flowed in a mystical, icy breeze.
"WHAT!?" Hun shouted, her eyes widened in disbelief.
"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Atilla shouted, quickly growing red in the face.
Sebastian's smile disappeared, his breathing becoming heavy and labored. "I. . .I don't understand. . ." Sebastian gasped out, "How did a child like you. . . ?"
Goh pointed up at Rayquaza and shouted, "Suicune! Use Ice Beam on Rayquaza!"
Suicune gave another roar as he fired a powerful Ice Beam straight up at the Sky High Pokemon. Rayquaza looked down just in time to be struck in the face by the supremely damaging move. As Rayquaza roared out in pain, Atilla let out his own roar of rage.
"YOU CAN'T DO THAT, YOU TWERP!" the red faced man shouted in a near psychotic rage, "YOU CAN'T COMMAND A LEGENDARY POKEMON! WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT!?"
Atilla then lunged forward in Goh's direction with the intention to rip the boy apart with his bare hands, but he didn't get within two yards of the young Trainer before Cinderace dashed forward and Blaze Kicked him in the stomach, hard. Atilla went flying backward, arcing through the air a good distance before landing flat on his back and lying still.
Hun was speechless as she looked back and forth between her senseless partner and the imposing Ice-type that was quickly breaking away at Rayquaza's endurance.
"Use Hyper Beam, Rayquaza!" Sebastian shouted.
Fighting through the icy pain, Rayquaza fired the attack, pushing back the Ice Beam all the way down to Suicune. The Aura Pokemon was knocked back and out of the blast, but shook it off and glared up at the mighty dragon.
Sebastian shook his head and said, "Suicune may be powerful, but there is no guarantee that it will be victorious here. In terms of sheer power and mastery of the sky, Rayquaza is the clear winner."
Goh just smiled and said, "Then it's a good thing Suicune isn't alone!"
Sebastian raised an eyebrow at this.
"NO!" Hun suddenly shouted.
Sebastian turned looked upwards, and he saw, to his horror, that the remaining Flying-type Pokemon had gotten their second wind. All over Rayquaza's body, Pokemon were pummeling it with attacks.
"FIGHT, FLOCK! FIIIIGHT!" Pidgeot shouted loudly as talons, beaks, and wings slashed at Rayquaza.
Noivern was laughing up a storm at Rayquaza's tail as he used Dragon Claw over and over. "Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha! Take that you overgrown Ekans!"
Gliscor flew up with Stone Edges in his claws and said with a smile and his tongue sticking out, "That's more like it, Dragon-bro!" He then threw the rocky projectiles at Rayquaza to score some more damage.
Even a few Pokemon down below, such as Ash's Boldore and Melmetal and Goh's Boldore, began launching attacks upward at Rayquaza.
"Dragon Ascent! Dragon Ascent! NOW!" Sebastian shouted, rapidly losing his composure.
Goh just grinned and said, "Sorry, but it looks like Rayquaza still needs to recharge after using Hyper Beam! Too bad for you!"
Suddenly, Suicune let out a loud roar, and Goh's Golurk flew over and landed in front of him. The pair exchanged a quick conversation, and then Suicune jumped right onto Golurk's back and held on.
Goh's eyes lit up and he said, "Great idea, Suicune! Go ahead and take the fight up to Rayquaza! Let's end this once and for all!"
Suicune nodded dutifully, and Golurk took off up into the air. The Automaton Pokemon carried Suicune up and up, gaining altitude at an astounding pace. It wasn't long before they were at the same height as Rayquaza. However, Suicune roared at Golurk, and the pair shot up even higher. Higher and higher they went, until Golurk's engines began to flicker and sputter slightly.
Sebastian clenched his teeth, then he shouted, "That's enough! Use Dragon Ascent, Rayquaza!"
Ash's Shiny Noctowl heard the command and called out to her friends, "Quick! Everyone off! The Rayquaza express is leaving the station!"
Everyone broke off their attack as Rayquaza's entire body was surrounded by a green aura. With a piercing cry, Rayquaza flew upwards towards Suicune and Golurk. Golurk quickly dived out of the way and quickly flew back towards the ground as Suicune jumped off and flipped in mid air. Suicune then dived straight down towards Rayquaza to meet the Dragon Ascent head on. Suicune's body was surrounded by a blue aura, and when he opened his mouth, the inside of it shined white.
BOOOOOOOM!
Dragon Ascent met Sheer Cold in a massive explosion of ice and snow that created a massive cloud, hiding Rayquaza's entire massive body from view. The entire outside of Team Rocket HQ went silent as everyone was looking up at the sky as snow flurries began to fall. Goh looked frantically, desperately searching for any sign of Suicune.
Then, Goh smiled wider than he had ever before.
Aerodactyl winged down out of the snowy clouds with Suicune riding triumphantly on his back. Meanwhile, Rayquaza began to fall out of the sky down towards the ruined no-man's land outside of Team Rocket HQ. The massive Dragon/Flying-type's head was completely encased in ice from Suicune ultimate attack.
Hun fell to her knees, her eyes widened in utter disbelief. "No. . .no. . ." was all she could manage to say as her entire world slowly became undone.
Sebastian's face was twisting and contorting due to the rage he was feeling. He turned to Goh and spat, "Curse you!" He then turned to the falling Legendary and pointed the black Pokeball at it.
Crack!
Sebastian's eyes widened as the Pokeball appeared to just snap in half right in his hand. "Wh-what? How'd you-?" he stammered out.
At the top of Team Rocket HQ, while hanging onto one of the tall antennae on its roof, Inteleon smiled as he blew on his index finger after executing another perfect Snipe Shot.
As Rayquaza crashed down hard onto the empty land outside of Team Rocket HQ, Aerodactyl landed in front of Goh, allowing Suicune to get off. Raichu and Cinderace cheered and jumped for joy as the victorious Legendary approached his trusted human.
Goh smiled and said, "Suicune. . .that was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life. Thank you. Thank you, so much. For trusting me, for helping me and Ash out. You know what it's like to have bad people try to capture you. With your help, we can make sure stuff like that happens much less."
Suicune nodded slowly, his eyes filled with respect and appreciation for Goh and his kind words. However, Suicune then turned and said something that caused Raichu and Cinderace to widened their eyes in amazement. The Legendary then proceeded to run off, much to Goh's surprise.
"Suicune? Where ya going?" Goh asked.
Cinderace smiled excitedly as he gave Goh two thumbs up. "Cin cinder der cin derace race!" he said excitedly.
Goh stared at Cinderace in confusion for a moment, but then smiled and said, "Well, okay, he must know what he's doing. Whatever he's up to, it's gotta be something awesome!" Goh then turned around and looked at the large building and said, "Anyway, I'd bet that Ash had probably gotten to Giovanni by now. . ."
