Chapter XIII Ophelia and Shoto Origin
Luminous grips her hands hard while watching the match. She feels anxious and terrified of Todoroki's cold behavior. Todoroki pushed everyone away because of Endeavor's intense training. No matter how much she tried to reach him out, Todoroki pushed her away.
"Do-do you think my Shoto will be back?" She asked softly towards Ruby Witch and Dragonite.
Ruby Witch nods her head in understanding. "Yeah, Clara told me everything about them. Especially Ambrosius reminds us our mentor."
Luminous simply closes her eyes. "Shall we ask her later?"
Ruby Witch glances at her and biting her lower lips. "No. I think we both know about her."
Dragonite nodded his head. "Let her discover herself. There's no doubt that girl is searching for herself."
Ruby Witch and Luminous are guaranteed this girl is the one they're looking for. The promise they vowed to protect her legacy before she passed away.
Ophelia isn't going to fool around her opponents this time. She's going to save someone who's fall into despair. The blonde girl with golden eyes removes the glowing contact lens to activate her powers.
"I'm not going to lose someone like you." Ophelia vowed and looking at Todoroki with her fierce expression. "I have to live up to the hopes of those who supported me. I will beat you too!"
~Todoroki Flashback~
A young boy Todoroki is crying while hugging his mother, Rei. Rei is comforting her son. "But you want to be a hero, don't you?" She asked softly to her son. Todoroki sniffs and looking up at Rei as she smiles. "It's okay for you to be one."
Todoroki narrates: Before I knew it, I had forgotten what happened after this...
~Flashback ends~
"Is it just me that her eyes didn't glow this time?" Uraraka asked curiously.
"She removes her contact lens that allows her eyes to glow." Aileen answered while crossing her arms. "It means... Ophie is getting serious about this match."
"Wa-wait, you're telling me her Quirk activates without her eyes glowed like yours!?" She yelled in surprise and the blue-haired girl sighs heavily.
"Unfortunately, yes." She never mentions her gold eyes glowed when in trance. "She said and I quote, 'I want to distract my enemies and purple is my favorite color.' Sometimes, I always wonder how I get stuck with her." Aileen sighs heavily and Uraraka simply laughs.
"Watching them it's like two great rivals fighting against each other!" Alexa exclaimed and wondering why Ophelia removes her contact lens. "Start!"
Ophelia's prediction is right without using her seer. Todoroki is going to trap her in ice just like Sero. She raises her hands using psionic to destroy the ice into small pieces.
"Woah! Quick, Pikachu-kun! Use thunderbolt to destroy the ice!" Midoriya immediately ordered his mouse Pokemon to shattered the ice into small pieces.
"Gotcha!" Pikachu shivered. "So cold!"He exclaimed by the cold.
"Normally, I would throw you out quickly before you could use your ice." Ophelia revealed her true plans. "I could make this exception and think something else."
"Wow! Ambrosius stopped Todoroki's attack without blinking her eyes!" Present Mic exclaimed.
Todoroki repeated his stunts and Ophelia sighs softly. "It won't work this time!" She yelled and destroying the ice.
"Ambrosius stop it again!" Present Mic yelled.
Ophelia noticed he always attacks recklessly without a plan. She noticed Todoroki held a small white-red ball in his hand. "I see..." She muttered under her breath.
Todoroki pressed the middle button before it grows back to its original size. "Akiko!" He yelled to call out his friend. The Pokeball opened to reveal a small red nine-tailed fox Pokemon.
The dual-haired boy received a gift of six Pokeballs and Pokedex from an unknown sender. He knows it has something to do with Ophelia due to her seer powers. Todoroki didn't remember he's already been registered as a Trainer just like them.
"He has a Vulpix!?" Aileen yelled in surprise. "A flame Vulpix."
Vulpix is a small, quadrupedal, fox-like Pokemon. It has a red-brown pelt with a cream-colored underbelly. It has brown eyes, large, pointed ears with dark brown insides, and a triangular dark brown nose. Its paws are slightly darker than the rest of its pelt and have light brown paw pads. On top of its head are three curled locks of orange fur with bangs, and it has orange tails with curled tips.
Midoriya grabs his Pokedex to scan the flame fox Pokemon. "Vulpix, the Fox Pokemon. Before evolving, Vulpix's six-part tail can become as hot as a fiery blaze." It explained.
"Double battle it is." Ophelia sighs softly and grips her Pokeball. "Serperior, I choose you!" It opens to reveal her Serperior.
Midoriya scan the next Pokemon. "Serperior, the Regal Pokemon. Serperior's glare can halt its opponent's movement. It increases the solar energy it absorbs." It explained.
"A battle between fire and grass, huh?" Crystal muttered under her breath.
"If Serperior is a grass-type Pokemon, don't you think it's at a completely disadvantage towards that small nine-tailed fox?" Riko asked curiously.
"It's true because depending who your opponents are and the type of Pokemon you have. They all have different strengths, weakness and immune type." Crystal explained calmly. "You can't judge Serperior's faith because she's a grass-type and be defeated easily by Vulpix."
"That's right!" Scorbunny nodded his head happily. "Our Trainers train us hard to become strong and overcome our weakness!"
"Geh!" Kaminari flinched to see Serperior again. "Watching her that far... she gives me a nightmare by that glare." He whimpered while Jiro smirked in amusement.
"Wow! They're bringing their Pokemon to fight alongside their partners!" Alexa yelled happily. "Grass-type Pokemon like Serperior versus fire-type Pokemon like Vulpix! That's a sight to see their unforgettable fight to remember!"
Serperior glances at Ophelia to see her serious expression. "I hope you're ready to face me, kit." She spoke coldly with a glare. "Fire is one of my weaknesses because I'm a grass-type Pokemon. However, that won't stop me from fighting against you."
Akiko the Vulpix flinched before glaring back to the Regal Pokemon. "I'm not backing down too!" He vowed to fight alongside his Trainer.
"You're..." Todoroki muttered under his breath and repeats his action.
"That stunt of yours won't work against me!" Ophelia yelled and destroying the ice.
"Akiko, while using the quick attack to speed up your run, use flamethrower!" Todoroki ordered his fox Pokemon.
"Serperior, deal with Akiko! Use vine whip to dodge the flame thrower and counter it with solar beam!" Ophelia ordered her Regal Pokemon.
Serperior uses a vine whip and uses it to soar into the sky. Her mouth opened to gather a light energy ball before blasting it towards Vulpix. Akiko yelps in shock and taking the hit.
"Akiko!" Todoroki yelled in worry for his friend.
"You're open!" Ophelia suddenly appeared in front of him. "Never take your eyes off the enemy." She kicks Todoroki's left side to send him off.
Todoroki creates ice to stop him from getting out of the boundary. He gets distracted because Akiko got hit by Serperior's solar beam. Luckily, Akiko can still fight despite the damage he receives.
"Todoroki is so close to getting out of the boundary if it wasn't for his ice!" Present Mic yelled. "His Pokemon is taken to damage by Serperior's attack! Despite the damage he receives, he can still fight! How will Todoroki fight against Ambrosius!?"
"Watching Todoroki's Vulpix, it doesn't have much experience battling another Pokemon." Aileen explained calmly. "Serperior, on the other hand, she gots more experience from battling and training being one of Ophie's team."
"Despite Serperior's huge disadvantage against Vulpix, she's fast and flexible." Gallade commented.
Todoroki creates an ice slide towards Ophelia. "Akiko, deal with Serperior." He yelled at his companion as he nodded his head.
Serperior's tail-flick and stares at Akiko with her usual stern expression. "I would like to see you try, kit." She glares and causing Akiko to flinch at her red eyes.
Ophelia immediately destroys the ice and uses psionic to fly. However, Todoroki manages to grab her right leg using ice. "I see..." She muttered and using both hands to destroy all the ice.
It creates a huge wind explosion to shatter the ice with her psionic power. Todoroki immediately creates the ice to stop him from getting out of the field.
"That's a lot more powerful than before." Todoroki commented on Ophelia's Quirk. "Are you trying to tell me... to stay away...?" He asked and pushing his ice away.
Ophelia noticed half of his body is started to cover with ice. The blonde girl with golden eyes remained silent but narrowing her gaze. "If you assume that I'm defending myself and run away from this fight. You're completely dead wrong. Looking at your state and Akiko, you both are almost at your limit."
Todoroki masked his surprised expression and observing Ophelia closely. She never receives any bruises or a drawback for using her Quirk. It makes him more intrigue her eyes didn't glow whenever Ophelia uses them. He couldn't tell the difference if she's using her seer or psionic Quirk. This girl he's facing is strong and hard for him to beat her.
"You're trembling for using your ice." Ophelia explained calmly. "If you think I don't have a limit for using this. You're wrong. Each one of us has our own limit." She grips the necklace around her neck. "You have a limit the coldness of your body can take without using your fire. What's the point of having fire Quirk if you won't use your left side- to prevent yourself from getting frostbite!?" She yelled angrily and clenching her hands. "Everyone's fighting with everything they've got... to win and get closer to their dream... to become number one. Yet, you want to win with just half your strength!?"
Serperior narrowed her gazes at Akiko before glancing at Ophelia. "Ophelia..." She muttered under her breath while dodging Akiko's attack.
"You managed to trapped my leg using your Quirk but I destroyed it." She commented calmly. "However, you never put a single scratch on me because of your stupid plan! Come and give me everything you got, Todoroki Shoto and Akiko!" Serperior stays on Ophelia's side.
"Ambrosius... what are you planning?" Todoroki asked coldly as Akiko stayed on his side. "Everything I've got? Did my damn old man buy you off or some-"
"How dare you to accuse me that lowly so I can accept his requests!" Ophelia yelled in anger as she dashed off towards Todoroki.
"Akiko, use flamethrower to stop her!" Todoroki ordered his fox Pokemon.
Ophelia immediately creates psionic energy to create a forcefield while running. "Serperior, I leave everything to you!"
"Got it!" She slits and dodges the flames before grabbing Akiko using a vine whip. "We still have a score to settle with, Akiko!" Serperior yelled and throwing Akiko up into the air.
Ophelia bends down to punch Todoroki's stomach. She flinches by the coldness of her arm as he managed to use his Quirk on her. The blonde girl with golden eyes immediately destroyed it using her psionic power.
"A solid hit!" Present Mic yelled in surprise.
Ophelia did a cartwheel to dodge the ice and notice it isn't fast as before. The frostbite is getting worse and needs to use his other Quirk to warm his body. Her whole body covered in a purple aura to protect herself from the ice. "I was like you before, Todoroki! You won't use your fire because of your father. I, on the other hand, was terrified to use them before I embrace them! My adopted Meowstic family helped me that I came this far! I accept the gift within me and use it to protect the people I care."
"What? You're adopted by a Pokemon!?" Todoroki looks surprised to find out she was raised by a Pokemon.
"I was raised by them when I was a baby before meeting the Sycamore family." Ophelia grunts and backflips to dodge the attack. "Meowstic and the psychic Pokemon found out I was a different child because of this Quirk. A Quirk that some humans think of me as a devil spawn or a wicked witch."
~Ophelia flashback~
Pokemon P.O.V
A 5-year-old Ophelia is helping her older brother, Espurr, to gather some fruits for their lunch today. "Hey, big brother." Ophelia called her Restraint Pokemon.
"Yes, Ophelia?" He hums while grabbing some oran berries whereas she takes some bananas using her psionic power.
"Why am I so different from you guys?" Ophelia asked innocently before putting the banana inside the basket. "I'm human with special powers."
"You're a unique girl, little sister." Espurr answered in a soft tone. "Just because you're a human. That doesn't mean we treat you differently."
"Really? How come I can't go to the town?" She pouts sadly. "We always hide whenever the Trainers passed us by."
Espurr sighs sadly. "Little sister, sometimes... you can't control your powers yet. Especially when you're happy, sad, excited and angry." She's a handful when she was a baby because her powers are unstable. They asked Gardevoir or Delphox to help their baby calm down.
"I can control it!" She exclaimed as her surroundings are floated by her psionic power. "Ahaha... oops?" Ophelia deactivated her powers.
"See what I mean? Mom, dad, myself and the others are trying our best to help you control your powers." Espurr patted her head. "Why are you so eager to see your kin?" He asked curiously.
"I wanted to see children close to my age." Ophelia answered sadly. "I can't because I'm scared to separate you guys."
Just when Espurr is about to say something. They heard a cry of a baby Pokemon. "Wha-what was that?" He stuttered nervously and Ophelia closes her eyes.
"Ah! Baby Kangaskhan is crying because they were ambushed by bad people!" Ophelia exclaimed with a terrified look on her face.
"We need to tell mom and dad immediately." Espurr panicked and Ophelia drops their fruits. "Ah, Ophelia! What are you doing!?" He shrieked worriedly.
"Big brother, there's no time and they need our help!" Ophelia yelled and turning left to find them.
Espurr groaned and scratching his head. "They're going to kill me. Arceus, please save me from their wrath later!" He flies and chasing his sister. "Wait up!"
Ophelia narrates: That day, I used my powers to save Kangaskhan from those poachers but I pay the price. Revealing my powers in front of them and called me devil span or wicked witch. They nearly kidnapped me because of my powers and understanding of Pokemon language.
I pushed everyone away because of my powers. Until one faithful day, Professor Sycamore found me. He took me in with their family and realize I wasn't alone all this time.
~Ophelia flashback ends~
"The Sycamore family took me in and accepted who I really am." Ophelia explained softly while huffing. "All this time, I thought- I was alone having this Quirk. But I wasn't... Aileen, Crystal, Clara and I have a similar situation. I don't care about your situation and circumstances... using half of your skills without giving it all. You might as well stop screwing yourself for Arceus's sake!"
"Shut up!" Todoroki yelled in anger and blasting ice towards her.
"I'll become a hero to save them and Pokemon!" She yelled and used psionic energy to destroy the ice. "Who do you want exactly to be Todoroki Shoto!? It's your power, isn't it!?"
"What?" He stuttered in shock while looking at Ophelia.
"Your father didn't control your Quirk to do whatever he wanted!" Ophelia glares at Todoroki. "You own it and it's your power alone to accept and embrace them! Todoroki Shoto, who are you exactly want to be!?"
Todoroki's eyes widen in shock before anyone can blink. He's starting to use his fire. Ophelia immediately hops on Serperior's back before creating a forcefield. "Damn it... even though you want to win..." Ophelia noticed he's cooling down his right side. "Damn it... to help your enemy... which one of us are screwing around now?"
"It's Ophelia's caring nature to save people on the verge of darkness." Serperior commented with a caring look on her face. "You want to fight them alone?" She asked her Trainer.
"Yeah." Ophelia answered.
"I want... to be a hero, too!" Todoroki declared and Akiko smiles softly despite he's nearly reaching his limit.
"My sister and I will help you all the way, Shoto." Akiko vowed and glaring at his opponents.
"Shoto!" Endeavor suddenly shouts out his son's name. Luminous glares at her older half-brother angrily. "Have you finally accepted yourself!? That's it! Good! It all starts from here for you! With my blood, you will surpass me... you will fulfill my desire!"
Aileen clicks her tongue at Endeavor's pride. "Father of the year." She commented sarcastically and Midoriya smiles nervously.
"A father should support their child not the other way around." Gallade commented bluntly before smiling softly. "I'm glad Ophelia's wish came true."
"Yeah." Midoriya answered and notice her true intentions. Ophelia's plan is to let Todoroki accepts his fire Quirk. He owned that power only to himself.
"Endeavor suddenly shouts encouragement...?" Present Mic asked in a bored tone. "Such a doting father."
Ophelia simply ignores them and smiles softly. "It's beautiful." She whispered before dispersing the forcefield.
Serperior shook her head with an amused look. "Focus on the battle, Ophelia." She reminded the blonde girl with golden eyes.
"In this situation... you're crazy." Todoroki commented bluntly and Ophelia simply laughs happily. "Don't blame me for what happens next." He used both of his powers. "Akiko, return." He sends Akiko back to his Pokeball.
"I won't." Ophelia answered truthfully and getting off Serperior's back. "Serperior, thank you." She sends Serperior back into her Pokeball. "Checkmate." Her whole body is covered in a purple aura before she runs off.
"Thank you, Ambrosius." Todoroki whispered before their attacks have collided.
It causes a huge explosion and destroyed the whole field. "Hoopa!" Aileen yelled before Gallade grabs his Trainer and Meowstic from flying off.
"Got it!" Hoopa's eyes glowed to use psychic to stop the debris from hurting them. "Phew, that was close." He used his hoops to transport the debris somewhere.
They saw a huge purple Phoenix aura is controlling the strong wind to make it disappeared. The smoke is still covered by the field and unable to see who's still standing.
"Wha-what was that just now...?" Alexa stuttered nervously and gulps. "What the heck is up with your class?" She asked Aizawa with a disbelief look.
Professor Sycamore and Diantha are speechless to see their fight.
"The air that had been cooled thoroughly was suddenly heated up and expanded." Aizawa explained calmly.
"That's what created this explosion? Where did the purple Phoenix coming from? Is it from Ophelia's Pokemon?" Present Mic asked and sitting back on the chair.
"No." Professor Sycamore regained his composure. "It's coming from Ambrosius's Quirk that she creates a phoenix." He sometimes saw her powers activate by itself. She's being protected by the psionic phoenix from harm. It's like her phoenix has a mind of its own.
Hawks, All Might, Ruby Witch and Luminous are surprised to see her aura is formed into a phoenix. There is no mistake this girl is the one they're looking for.
"Jeez, I can't see a thing! Hey, who won the match?"Present Mic asked the chief empire.
Midnight rubs her head and blinks. The smoke disappeared and all of them are shocked. Ophelia's clothes are destroyed to reveal her black biker shorts and purple sports bra as she's still standing. Todoroki's upper clothes are half-destroyed to reveal his well-toned body. However, he's knockout completely and out of bounds.
"To-Todoroki-kun is out of bounds... Ambrosius-chan advances to the third round!" Midnight declared as the whole audience roared.
Meowstic holds the blanket thanks to Yaoyorozu's Quirk. He flies towards the field before covering Ophelia's body completely. "Man, you nearly gave us a heart attack, little sister."
Ophelia laughs softly. "It's been a while you called me that, big brother. Thank you." She hugs Meowstic and covering her face. "I saved him, big brother..." She cried silently in tears of joy.
Meowstic simply smiles and stroking her head. "There, there, Ophie. I'm proud of you. We all are."
She nodded her head and taking Meowstic to walked out of the field.
Crystal narrates: Ophelia wins and made it to the third round. She fulfilled Luminous wish to save her nephew from despair. Todoroki is starting to accept his fire because of Ophelia's word.
Scorbunny: Our next chapter is us!*He cheers happily* Man, I can't wait to see how it turned out. Midoriya has no clue about our fighting skills!
Aileen narrates: Next chapter is Princess Crystal LaRusso Origin! Will Midoriya is able to bring Pikachu for his next match?
Riko narrates: What kind of Ruby Witch and Luminous promised they made? Who is the female they're referring to?
