Chapter XIV Princess Crystal LaRusso Origin
"Thank you, Cynthia." Ophelia thanked the Sinnoh Champion.
Cynthia smiles softly before patting her head. "I'm surprised you made the match longer than your previous one."
"His eyes... reminds me of myself." She whispered before glancing at Todoroki. "His eyes are screaming help me, save me and I couldn't just ignore it."
Meowstic hums while crossing his arms. "You made him realize he owned that fire and no one else."
"Yeah, I'm sure he's still shaken after that battle. He also needs to have time for himself and think." She spoke softly while staring at Todoroki with her calm look.
Cynthia taps her head softly. "I'm amazed there is another Earth without Pokemon. Until you revealed their disappearance."
"We're still investigating the unknown source. We think Cyrus is involved with it." Ophelia explained with a grim look on her face.
She's staring at them worriedly. "I actually thought Cyrus is in jail for sure."
"That's what we all thought or just assume-" Meowstic was cut off.
"Fee-chan!"
"Ophelia-kun!"
"Ophelia-san!"
Someone barged into the room to reveal Iida, Uraraka, Midoriya and Pikachu. Ophelia and Meowstic are surprised to see them are barging in.
"Hey!" Ophelia greeted them happily. "I thought you guys are going to watch the match?"
"You and Todoroki demolished the stage, they're taking a break to repair it." They turned around to reveal Aileen, Crystal and their partners. "I can't believe you guys are wrecking the place." Aileen commented and sighing softly.
"Tehee~ are you worried about me, Lee-lee?" Ophelia teased the blue-haired girl and she whacks her head. "Ow! Can't you see I'm injured!"
"You only got shallow cut from your right cheek." Cynthia explained calmly and amused by their usual bickering. "Akiko is still resting and your Serperior is good to go." She handed her Pokeball.
"Thank you, Cynthia!" Ophelia thanked her happily. "Oh, guys! This is Carolina Cynthia. She's one of us."
Cynthia smiles softly. "It's a pleasure to meet their classmates. I don't have Quirk." She explained softly.
"Is Ophelia going to be okay, right?" Uraraka asked worriedly.
"Yeah, she only got shallow cut and nothing else." Cynthia answered before glancing at the dual-haired boy. "Todoroki-san, on the other hand, it's over fatigue for using two Quirks at the same time. Does it happen before?" She asked curiously.
"We usually saw him using ice and nothing else, Carolina-san." Midoriya answered her question. "We don't even know if he trained both Quirks..."
Cynthia nodded her head in understanding. "I see... watching him using the fire. I can tell he isn't used to it. Todoroki-san is lucky enough he didn't get frostbite if it wasn't for his fire."
"Where is Recovery Girl, Cynthia?" Crystal asked her curiously. "I'm surprised she managed to leave you alone and tending them."
"She's tending some patients from the upperclassmen." Cynthia answered calmly. "I showed her my license that I'm capable to tend them without Aileen."
Aileen smiles sheepishly at the Sinnoh Champion. "Sorry about that, Cynthia. She forbid me to help you guys out." She usually helps Recovery Girl as an assistant. Now that she's participating in the event, Recovery Girl forbid the blue-haired girl to help her out.
She chuckled softly. "No worries. They can have some berries to eat and cure them. I also have a few Chansey and Audino's to help us out."
"Um... I realized you three know her long. Are you guys friends?" Uraraka asked them curiously.
"Yeah, she happened to be the granddaughter of Professor Carolina." Gallade answered. "We met her through our journey in Sinnoh."
"She's also one of the strongest Trainer." Meowstic commented with a smirk. He didn't mention her title being a Sinnoh Champion.
"I'm flattered but I still have a long way to go, guys." Cynthia smiles softly. "Crystal and Midoriya-san, you guys are going to face soon."
Midoriya flinches in surprised and glancing at the black-haired girl with emerald eyes. "Ye-ye-yeah..." He whimpered nervously.
Crystal simply shook her head with a smile. "No leaving regrets whoever wins or loses the match, Midoriya-san?" She raises her hands. "You happened to be their friend and I won't go easy on you."
Midoriya nodded his head with a determined look. "Yeah. I would say the same thing as you as well, LaRusso-san."
Crystal shook her head. "Please, anyone who's a friend of theirs, is a friend of mine. Call me Crystal."
"Wow... you're so polite, Crystal-chan." Uraraka is awestruck by her politeness. "I actually thought you hate us."
"No." Crystal answered truthfully. "I don't understand why they're being envious because of that incident. That horror you faced isn't easy especially the lack of experience you guys have."
Scorbunny nodded her head. "Yeah. Can't they just be grateful you guys are okay?" He pouts and crossing his arms.
"Who knows?" Cynthia hums. "Ophelia, you're clear to go. I wished you guys luck." She wished for their bests.
Crystal nodded her head and leaving first with Scorbunny. Midoriya gulps and looking down at his partner. "Pikachu-kun, I want you to fight alongside me."
"Eh?" Pikachu blinks his eyes in surprise. "What, I can?"
"Did you passed the request form to bring your Pokemon, Deku-kun?" Uraraka asked him curiously. He nodded his head nervously. "Eh!? How come you didn't bring him to our cavalry battle!?"
"I kinda slipped out of my mind..." Midoriya laughs nervously. "After watching them bringing out their Pokemon. I almost forgot I can bring Pikachu-kun."
"I can't believe you forget about me, Izu!" Pikachu gritted his teeth angrily and releases some bolts to shock him.
"Gah!" Midoriya got struck by his lightning.
"Pikachu-kun! You shouldn't attack your friend like that!" Iida scolded the mouse Pokemon while moving his arm like a robot.
"Hmph!" Pikachu turns his head away.
"You vile!" The girls laugh at Iida's misfortune.
"Thanks to Cementoss and the staff, the battle is back in action!"Alexa yelled happily. "She's a strong and elegant female student. Throwing her opponents without breaking a sweat! From the hero course, LaRusso Crystal versus-"
"He made it in the first place to break the spell. Fighting on his opponent with a fist, from the hero course- Midoriya Izuku!" Present Mic announced Crystal's opponent.
"Let's the match, begin!" Alexa declared.
Aileen crosses her arms while observing them. "A battle of fists." She commented. "I wonder how will Izuku fare against her."
"Damn it..." Mineta whimpered and biting his P.E uniform while crying. "He's fighting against a goddess! Midoriya, tear her- gah!" He gets a slap from Asui's tongue.
"Do you think Deku-kun will win?" Uraraka asked worriedly.
"No." Gallade answered truthfully. "Izuku is struggling to control his Quirk. As a result, he's going to hurt himself without harnessing it."
"If we're talking about battling and controlling experience, Izuku stands no chance against her." Aileen answered truthfully.
Midoriya gulps nervously and clenching his fists tight. He doesn't have much data on her but only she's strong and uses weapons.
"For someone who couldn't wield or grasp their Quirk, you're smart." Crystal commented bluntly and he blushed in embarrassment.
"Eh!?"
"But... a young man like you, you still have a long way to go to surpass me." She declared and readying her stance. "We may have similar Quirk. But, unlike you, I can handle to control it."
"Crystal-san..." He gulped as her emerald eyes turned stern.
"Here we go!" Crystal and Scorbunny dashed off to attack them first. "Prove to us you're worthy to become a Pokemon Trainer and my opponent!"
Pikachu uses his thunderbolt to strike them but Crystal deflects it using her bracelet. "Look at that folks! LaRusso uses the same strategy during the first round!" Alexa exclaimed.
"Smash!" Crystal's eyes widened slightly at his surprising plan. It causes a strong wind explosion.
The spectator wouldn't be able to see due to the strong wind. "Seriously, what's wrong with your classes Eraser and Vlad!?" Present Mic asked.
The smoke covered them both and waiting for it to disappear. Some of them are holding their breath if Midoriya managed to take them out of the bounds. However, there's no luck as Crystal is still in her place with Scorbunny. The ground of her feet only cracks because she defended herself from the attack.
"That attack is strong." Crystal commented calmly and brushing off the dust off her shoulder. "Not strong enough to meet Hariyama or any fighting-type Pokemon punch."
"Gah!" Midoriya's right arm is completely broken for not controlling his Quirk properly.
"LaRusso just brushed off Midoriya's attack as if it was nothing!" Present Mic yelled in surprise while Aizawa is curious about Crystal's ability.
Before Crystal can do any damage to Midoriya, Pikachu suddenly jumps and trying to attack her. Scorbunny hops and kicking his face. "Take that! If anyone wants to attack her, they'll have to get through me first!"
"Scorbunny!" Crystal cried out his name in surprise.
"I swore to protect you and I'll keep it! Till the end of the line, Crys." Scorbunny vowed.
~Crystal's Flashback~
Ever since Crystal and Aria are born in the sacred place of Galar region, few Amazonian women are wary of their existence. They're the first children who got mixed blood of Amazonians and men. Princess Katherine, the daughter of Queen Frey, fell in love with a former Pokemon Ranger.
Katherine came back to their sacred island because her lover died for saving the world. Leaving her alone with unborn children inside of her. She has few people who are helping her throughout her pregnancy until they came.
Katherine noticed her two girls are special because they have been marked as Arceus's chosen protectors. Crystal inherits the fists plate whereas Aria has a pixie plate. Both girls are training hard to control their abilities. They hope when the time comes, Arceus will call them.
The twins are longing to see the outside of the world. To explore and have their journey to experience everyday. Crystal is all by herself while watching the sky in deep thoughts.
"How long till we stay here?" 6-year-old Crystal asked sadly and biting her lower lips. She sniffs and wiping her eyes. "I wanna travel too."
She's jealous of how her mom travels in the world of men and met other people. Katherine always tells them a story of her journey until their grandmother forbids them to set out on the island.
"Scor? (You okay?)" The small rabbit Pokemon, Scorbunny, asked the little girl in a soft tone.
"Eh?" Crystal is surprised to see the rabbit in front of her. "I'm quite alright, noble Scorbunny." She stands up and wiping the dirt off her skirt.
"Bun? Scor, scor, bunny!? (Eh? You understand, me!?)" Scorbunny looks surprised to find out someone can understand him.
"Yes, my family was blessed by Arceus. Are you a spy?" She asked in a suspicious tone and gripping her lasso.
Scorbunny immediately shook his head and gulps nervously. "Scorbunny! Scor, bun! (No, I just stumbled here in this unknown place!)" He defended himself.
"Only one way to find out!" Crystal vowed and wrapping Scorbunny using her lasso. "I'll ask again, how did you find me?" She asked in a stern tone.
"Scor, bunny, scorbunny, scor, scor (I just stumbled in this place and saw you.)" He hissed in pain by the lasso. "Scorbunny, scor, scor (You look so lonely and I thought you're lost.)"
"I'm not lost." Crystal answered truthfully. "I'm lost in my thoughts." She released him.
"Scor? (You are?)" Scorbunny didn't believe the girl even one bit. "Scorbunny, scor, scor, bun, bunny. (The look of your eyes says otherwise.)" She didn't reply and looks away. "Scorbunny, scor, scor, scor? (Why is that lasso burns me and force me to tell you my intentions?)" He asked curiously.
"The lasso of truth compels you to speak your true intentions." Crystal answered. "It also sometimes gives you a vision of our history when we explain our kin. This passed down my family."
"Scorbunny! (That's so cool!)" Scorbunny is amazed by her background. "Scor, bunny, scor, scor, bunny! (I decided I'll be your knight in shining armor!)" He declared and vowed his life to protect her.
"You just met me and declared to be my protector?" Crystal looks skeptical at his declaration. "You don't know me." Wild Pokemon who has pure heart are always welcome to visit their sacred land.
"Scorbunny, scor, bun, bunny, scorbunny, scor, bunny, bun (You look lonely and sad. I want to make you smile and happy.)" Scorbunny rubs his nose shyly. "Scor, scor, bun, bunny, scor, scor? (You're pure and I want to stay by your side. Please?)" He pleads and wanting this girl as her first Pokemon.
Crystal sighs softly. "You're really persistent, noble Scorbunny." Scorbunny smiles happily. "I'm Crystal LaRusso, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Scorbunny! (I'm Scorbunny!)" They shook hands as a sign of their first meeting.
Crystal narrates: That day, Scorbunny is my first Pokemon and friend. Scorbunny risks his life to protect me and didn't want to evolve for the next evolution. He wanted to prove to everyone that he can protect me in his own power without evolving.
~Flashback ends~
Scorbunny knew her royal bloodline and didn't treat her differently. He cares for Crystal deeply like she's his younger sister. The rabbit Pokemon trains hard to fight alongside her without evolving.
"It's time to get serious!" Crystal punched the ground to create a huge crate. Debris are everywhere and uses her lasso to throw at them. "Scorbunny use bounce to throw them some debris."
"She punches the ground to create a huge crate!" Present Mic exclaimed in shock. "What is LaRusso going to plan for that debris!?"
"I just hope we won't get hurt by it." Alexa commented with a nervous smile.
"Aye!" Scorbunny kicks the debris while Midoriya and Pikachu are dodging it.
"Pikachu-kun quick attack to dodge the debris and thunder punch at Scorbunny!" Midoriya ordered his mouse Pokemon.
"Got it!" Pikachu increases his speed to dodge the debris as his hand covered with lightning. "Take this!"
"Woah!" Scorbunny rolls over to dodge the thunder punch. "Too slow!" He uses a flame thrower to blast Pikachu.
"Gah!" Pikachu cried out in pain by the flame.
"Pikachu-kun!" Midoriya cried out his name worriedly and gasps at Crystal's close face.
"Never turn back on your enemy!" She punches Midoriya's face to throw him off the stage.
"You're out!" Scorbunny grabs Pikachu's tail and throws him off the stage.
Crystal breathes softly and Scorbunny lands on her head. The rabbit Pokemon smiles happily and giving them a peace sign. "We win!"
Midnight chuckled in amusement at his cheerful personality. "Midoriya-kun is out of bounds! LaRusso-chan advances to the third round!" She declared and the whole audience roared in cheer.
Crystal simply ignores them and approaching Midoriya. She raises her hand with a smile. "You fought well, Midoriya-san."
Midoriya chuckled weakly and accepts her hand. "I still have a long way to go to control my Quirk."
"From what I saw your actions, it's like you're still grasping your Quirk." Crystal explained calmly. "You need to sort it out how to wield them without damaging your body."
"Yeah, I guess..." He rubs his neck nervously. "How did I do well being a Trainer?" He caught Pikachu in his arms.
"You look after him well." Crystal rubs Pikachu's cheek and he smiled. "Cherish your Pokemon, Midoriya-san."
"Yeah!" He smiles happily. Despite being down by his loss, Crystal lifted his spirits up. Crystal accepts him being a Trainer just like them.
"Crissie finally sees Izuku as a good guy!" Ophelia laughs happily while watching the screen.
"Aren't we suppose to be with your classmates by now?" Meowstic asked and wondering why they need to stay longer in here.
"Hmm..." Todoroki groaned and opened his eyes slowly. He suddenly meets soft and worrying golden eyes. "Ambrosius?"
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Ophelia asked worriedly.
"Better." Todoroki answered truthfully and glancing at his side to meet Akiko. "How is he?"
"He's fully recovered and didn't want to leave you alone." Ophelia answered and stroking Akiko's soft fur.
"Why?" Todoroki asked softly as his cold look disappeared. "Why did you-"
"Help or save you?" Ophelia asked softly and noticing Meowstic left them alone. "It's in your eyes. You can fool anyone by shutting down your emotions... but you can never fool me."
"I see and did you see my pasts?" He asked and Ophelia nodded her head softly.
"I didn't mean it." She whispered. "Sometimes my seer activates by itself to know pasts, present and future. Sometimes it controls my body and speaks randomly as if I'm the prophet." She didn't mention they eavesdropped on their conversation during their lunch break.
"The match that we have?" He asked curiously.
"I don't use it when I'm battling someone." She shook her head. "I analyze my opponents and plan before attacking."
"Thank you, Ophelia." Ophelia's eyes widen in shock. "For saving me."
Ophelia blushed brightly by his rarest smile and looks away. Her heart is beating so fasts and composing herself. "I'm just glad that I can help. Anyway, whatever your plan is... I'm sure it will work out in the end." She assured the dual-haired boy before walking out the room.
Ophelia exhales softly and patting her chest. "What's going on with me?" She muttered under her breath.
"You lose your head, perhaps?" Meowstic asked sarcastically out of nowhere.
"No!" Ophelia denied and shook her head. "Come on, Lee-lee's match is going to start soon and I can't wait to see her actions!"
Meowstic narrates: Crystal wins after defeating Midoriya. However, she accepts Midoriya to become a Trainer just like them. Ophelia manages to break down Todoroki's wall and thank her for saving him.
Hoopa narrates: Now that our two young heroes are advancing to the third round. Will Aileen overcome to face her two opponents?
