Indigo Plateau Conference
For the past month, Ash had been training his Pokémon for the Indigo Plateau, he had also been training on how to use his Aura powers with his 2 Riolus & had been going on dates with Mallow. Ever since Lillie witnessed Silvally saving Ash from Ricky, she had completely lost her fear of touching Pokémon. Lillie & her mom decided to stay for the Indigo League Conference. When they arrived at Indigo Plateau, the gang including Lillie & Lusamine had arrived at the Indigo Plateau noticed a crowd cheering,
"What's going on?" Ash said curiously
"They're waiting for the Torch Bearer." Brock said
"Torch Bearer?" Mallow repeated
"They use it to light the flame that burns during the Indigo Plateau Conference." Misty explained
"The flame inspires all Trainers & Pokémon who are competing in the Pokémon League." Brock said "Legends say that the flame comes from the flames of one of the Legendary Bird Pokémon, Moltres."
"Wow, that's amazing." Ash said in awe "I hope I get to become the Torch Bearer."
"& that you will." A short old man said as he approached the gang
"Who are you?" Ash asked
"Pardon me, I am Charles Goodshow, I'm the President of the Pokémon League Torch Committee." Mr. Goodshow said "Tell me, sonny, do you wish to be the Torch Bearer this year?"
"Yes sir, it would be a great honor." Ash said
"I can see that you are a good spirited young man & the competition is all about spirit." Mr. Goodshow said "Please, do the honor of delivering this flame to the stadium."
"Right." Ash nodded
The Torch Bearer passed the flame to Ash & the running of the Torch proceeded. The gang took turns in being the Torch Bearer & when they arrived at the Indigo Stadium, Ash gave the torch to Mr. Goodshow. The gang & Lusamine went to the Pokémon Village where they'll be staying during the competition.
"Ash." A voice called out.
Ash turned & saw a boy with auburn hair, blue eyes, wearing a teal short-sleeve shirt with light yellow trim and a silver zipper, a dark teal vest with a light green collar, a black belt with a silver buckle, teal pants with light yellow pockets, dark blue and indigo sneakers with red dots, dark blue fingerless gloves with aqua borders, and a purple cap with a light yellow band and red buttons.
"Ritchie." Ash said surprisingly "It's good to see you."
"You too, Ash." Richie said
"Who's this, Ash?" Misty said
"This is my best friend Ritchie." Ash said "We were best friends back in Pallet Town before he & his family moved to Frodomar City."
"It's nice to meet you, Richie." Mallow said "I'm Mallow, Ash's girlfriend."
"Wow, so you're the one Ash was constantly talking about & I always knew you two were gonna end up together." Ritchie said
"I'm Misty & this is Togepi." Misty said
"Toge Toge." Togepi cooed
"I'm Brock." Brock said
"I'm Lusamine, Ash's aunt & this is my daughter Lillie." Lusamine said
"Hi." Lillie said
"& these are my partners Pikachu & Meowzie." Ash said
"Pikachu." Pikachu said
"Meowth." Meowzie said
"Well, look what the cat dragged in." Gary said as he approached
"Gary." Ash said neutrally as Gary looked at Ritchie
"Well, guess I have another loser to beat." Gary said
"I can see you're still as arrogant as ever." Ritchie glared
"So Ash, have you caught any more Pokémon since I stormed out?" Gary smirked
"As a matter of fact I have & here's the latest picture of them." Ash said as he pulled out a picture of him & his recent Pokémon.
"What the!?" Gary said shockingly
"He has Shiny Pokémon!?" One of Gary's cheerleaders said surprisingly
"& he has several Pokémon from other regions!?" Another cheerleader exclaimed shockingly
"Has he really caught up to Gary!?" Another cheerleader exclaimed confusingly
"As you can see, I now have 200 Pokémon." Ash said neutrally as Gary & the cheerleaders went wide-eyed "That's the exact same total number of Pokémon you have Gary."
Gary growled in anger
"Look here Ash, just because you have all those Pokémon doesn't mean you stand a chance against me!" Gary said angrily
"I wouldn't be so sure about that, cause my Pokémon & I have been training for the Indigo Plateau Conference for the past month." Ash said sternly "You say that I'm a loser, but who was the one who lost against the Viridian Gym Leader."
"Why you!" Gary seethed in anger as he took a step towards Ash
Then Ash's Ursaring came out of its Great Ball & appeared in front of Gary
"Urrrrr." Ursaring growled at Gary
"Uhhh…" Gary said fearfully as Ursaring's fist connected to Gary's face, knocking him out cold.
"Gary!" The cheerleaders exclaimed in shock & fear
"Ursaring return." Ash said as he returned Ursaring "Come on guys, let's go."
The gang & Lusamine walked away
"Looks like Gary's still the same pompous jerk." Richie said
"Serves him right for treating you like that." Lillie said
"I'm glad I didn't raise Gladion to be that kind of person." Lusamine said
The next day, it was time for the Opening Ceremony, the Trainers including Ash & Gary entered the Indigo Stadium & the Torch Bearer lit up the fire bowl. Suddenly a cylindrical machine with arms & legs & a screen in the middle grabbed the fire bowl & went into the middle of the stadium. Then a familiar face appeared on the screen.
"Hahahahaha!" The familiar face said as he turned to Mr. Goodshow "Remember me, Goodshow?"
"Ricky…" Mr. Goodshow said shockingly
"I told you I was gonna come back & get my revenge." Ricky said sadistically "Now that I've got the flame, you will have no choice but to cancel the competition."
"Ricky!" Ash called out
"Well, look who's here." Ricky smirked "Thought I was gone for good when I fell in that bottomless pit, huh Ash?"
"Why are you trying to have the Indigo Plateau Conference cancelled?" Ash asked
"It takes place when I was your age, I was in the finals & the match was only a day away, but that was until I was called to Mr. Goodshow's office." Ricky said
Flashback
When a young Ricky entered Mr. Goodshow's office, he saw Mr. Goodshow, Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, Professor Oak, & his parents & they all had looks of disappointment & disgust.
"Ricky, do you know why you are called here?" Mr. Goodshow asked
"Uh no, & what's with all the long faces?" Ricky said confusingly
"You were called here because you have been reported for Pokémon Abuse" Mr. Goodshow said sternly
"What? W-what are you talking about?" Ricky said in panic
"Don't play dumb, we have evidence & proof that you have been treating your Pokémon terribly." Jenny said as she showed him a few pictures & a video of him abusing his Pokémon or having his other Pokémon abuse them.
"& this isn't the only report." Joy said as she dropped a stack of folders on Mr. Goodshow's desk "These are multiple reports of you abusing & mistreating your Pokémon."
"Ricky, is everything about this true?" Ricky's father said
"…So what if it is true, Pokémon are nothing but tools for winning battles & slaves to do our bidding!" Ricky snapped "& if they're no use to us, then we should throw them away like the trash they are."
"Do you even hear yourself, how can you do such things like that!?" Ricky's mother exclaimed in shock
"Because I can, that's how I let my Pokémon know their place!" Ricky shouted
"If that's what you think of your Pokémon, then you leave us no choice." Oak said
"What do you mean?" Ricky said confusingly
"Ricky, you are hereby disqualified from the Indigo Plateau Conference." Mr. Goodshow said
"What!?" Ricky said shockingly
"Not only that, the authorities & I have decided to strip you of your Pokémon & your status as a Pokémon Trainer permanently." Oak said
"But you can't do that!" Ricky shouted in panic as he turned to his parents "Mom, Dad, help me out here!"
"No Ricky, we thought we raised you better than that." Ricky's father said
"You have brought shame to our family, we were hoping that you will make us proud, but you have proven that you are just as bad as your brother Rico." Ricky's Mom said
"So from this day forward, you are no longer our son." Ricky's father said
"Security, arrest him." Mr. Goodshow said as security arrested him
"You all just made a big mistake! Don't think this is over! I will get my revenge! You hear me!?" Ricky shouted angrily as security dragged him out the door
Flashback End
"I was humiliated & I lost everything!" Ricky said "When the Pokémon League Committee disqualified me & took away my Pokémon Trainer privileges, they made a huge mistake!"
"No, they didn't." Ash said
"What was that?" Ricky asked
"You're the one who made a huge mistake in treating your Pokémon like tools & slaves." Ash said "Pokémon are our friends & our partners. As Pokémon Trainers, we're supposed to treat our Pokémon with love, care, & trust. Everyone came here to compete in the Pokémon League, & now you're trying to wreck it & everything it stands for because of your misdeeds in the past. Well, I won't let you do it, so take your best shot."
"Pika!/Meow!" Pikachu & Meowzie shouted in determination
"So be it, prepare to be the first to burn!" Ricky said as the machine pointed the fire bowl towards Ash & shot the fire at him
"Ash, no!" Mallow cried
"Bounsweet!" Bounsweet cried
When the fire hit Ash, he didn't feel a thing.
"Huh? The fire, it's not burning us." Ash said
Just then the fire formed into a tornado & when it broke apart, A large golden bird-like Pokémon with its wings, tail, & the top of its head shrouded in flames appeared
"MOOOOOLT!" The Pokémon cawed
"Moltres." Ash said surprisingly as he pulled out his Pokédex
Moltres, the Flame Pokémon, Moltres is a legendary bird Pokémon that has the ability to control fire. If this Pokémon is injured, it is said to dip its body in the molten magma of a volcano to burn and heal itself.
"MOOOOOOOOLT!" Moltres screeched as the flames on his wings & tail grew larger and glowed bright yellow & orange & clashed through the machine.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Ricky screamed as the machine exploded with him in it
The fire bowl was sent flying in the air & landed on its rightful place. Moltres shot fire from its wings & lit up the flame, then it landed in front of Ash.
"Thanks Moltres." Ash said "It's nice to meet you."
"Molt." Moltres said as it nudged Ash a bit
"Whoa, what was that for?" Ash said
"I believe Moltres wants to capture it." Mr. Goodshow said "It saw how you demonstrated your bravery & spirit, so it has decided to have you as its trainer."
"Is that true, Moltres?" Ash asked
"Molt." Moltres nodded
Ash pulled out a Poké Ball & caught Moltres
