Water Field
The gang was in Pokémon Village to get Ash checked in for the Pokémon League. After Ash got checked in, Ash pressed the button & the light stopped on the water symbol & his opponent was a trainer named Mandi.
"Ash." A voice called out
The gang turned & saw Jessie & James
"Jessie, James, you're here." Ash said surprisingly
"Of course, we wouldn't want to miss your big day." Jessie said
"How has everything been since we left?" James asked
"It's been great, a lot has happened since you left." Ash said as he pulled out a Poké Ball & sent out Lickilicky
"Licki." Lickilicky said
"Is that Lickitung?" Jessie said surprisingly
"Was Lickitung. Now he's Lickilicky, the evolved form of Lickitung." Ash said
"I didn't know Lickitung were capable of evolving." Jessie said
"It says here that Lickitung evolve into Lickilicky after learning the move Rollout." James said looking at his Pokémon
"That's not all, here's the rest of them." Ash said as he showed a picture of him & his current Pokémon.
"Wow, that's amazing Ash." Jessie said amazingly
"You haven't been to any other region & you already have Pokémon from other regions." James said impressively "Also we saw that you captured the Legendary Bird Pokémon Moltres, that's certainly a big achievement."
"Oh, & how's Meowth?" Jessie asked
"He's doing okay." Ash said as he sent out Meowth
"Hey Guys." Meowth said
"It's good to see you, Meowth." James said
"Ash, Mallow." A voice called out
They looked & saw a short chubby boy, with orange hair, green eyes, wearing a yellow scarf around his neck that resembles a Pikachu's tail, a white T-shirt with an orange design of a Game Boy Color painted on it, brown pants with a yellow outline, & green shoes with lightning design & blue soles. A muscular, dark-skinned young man with red & brown hair in a style resembling fire, wearing red shorts with a black outline and sandals with the same color scheme. & a short young girl with blue eyes, short blue hair, wearing a yellow string headband that resembles a fishing net, a short blue cape behind her back, a sleeveless white sailor shirt on top of a dark blue swimsuit with a blue fish decal in the middle of the chest, long blue pants with a yellow string near the waist & blue Hawaiian wave patterns on the bottoms, & darkly-colored rubber sandals.
"Lana." Mallow said surprisingly
"Sophocles, Kiawe." Ash said surprisingly
"Hey guys, it's great to see you again." Lana said
"Ash, are these more of your other friends from the Alola Region?" Brock asked
"Yes they are." Ash nodded
"Hi, I'm Sophocles, an Electric Pokémon Trainer." Sophocles said
"I'm Kiawe, a Fire Pokémon Trainer." Kiawe said
"& I'm Lana, a Water Pokémon Trainer." Lana said
"You're a Water Pokémon Trainer, so am I." Misty said excitedly "I'm Misty by the way."
"I'm Brock." Brock said
"I'm Jessie." Jessie said
"& I'm James." James said
"& these are my partners, Pikachu, Meowth, Meowzie, & Lickilicky." Ash said
"Wow, a Pikachu." Sophocles beamed "You're so lucky, Ash."
"Thanks." Ash said
While they were having lunch
"Mallow, you always have the best cooking." Ash said
"Thank you, Ash." Mallow said
"Hey Ash, I was very shocked when I saw Moltres chose you as its Trainer." Kiawe said
"Yeah, I wasn't expecting that either." Ash said
"Are there any other Pokémon you have, Ash?" Sophocles asked
"Yes, there is." Ash said as he showed them the picture.
"Wow, look at all the Water Types." Lana beamed
"There's so many Shiny Pokémon!" Sophocles exclaimed
"How many are there?" Kiawe asked
"200." Ash said "Adding Moltres makes 201."
"My nephew's certainly a lucky guy." Lusamine dotted
"Also, we have big news, Ash & I are officially a couple." Mallow announced
"Oh my gosh, congratulations!" Lana gasped "I always shipped you guys together."
"Hey Meowth, I thought Ash was gonna end up with Misty." Jessie whispered
"I did too, but it looks like he liked someone else the whole time." Meowth whispered
"Guess we lost that bet." James whispered
"Do you guys have any Pokémon with you?" Ash asked
"Yes, we do." Sophocles said
Sophocles sent out a spherical rodent-like Pokémon with yellow cheek pouches, & yellow & brown triangular markings across its back, Kiawe sent out a big red & yellow turtle-like Pokémon with a spiny shell, & Lana sent out a Popplio
"Maru." Sophocles' Pokémon said
"Nator." Kiawe's Pokémon said
"Popplio!" Popplio said as Ash pulled out his Pokédex
Togedemaru, the Roly-Poly Pokémon, When it's in trouble, it curls up into a ball, makes its fur spikes stand on end, and then discharges electricity indiscriminately.
Turtonator, the Blast Turtle Pokémon, Explosive substances coat the shell on its back. Enemies that dare attack it will be blown away by an immense detonation.
"Those are very cool Pokémon." Ash complimented
"Well, you must be my opponent." A voice said
Everyone looked & saw Ash's opponent
"Hey, you're Mandi." Ash said
"Yes, I'm Mandi the Astounding." Mandi said as he had a Pidgey on his shoulder
"Hi there, I'm Mallow, I'm from the Alola Region." Mallow said as she stuck out her hand "It's nice to meet you."
Mandi laughed amusingly
"What's so funny?" Mallow said confusingly
"Sorry, but I don't touch outsiders." Mandi said
"Outsider!?" Mallow exclaimed feeling offended
"Yes & I can tell that a few of your friends are outsiders as well." Mandi said
"You better watch it, pal!" Kiawe seethed in anger
"Calm down, Kiawe." Brock said
Mandi spotted a basket of cookies, he snapped his fingers & his Pidgey grabbed a cookie & put it his hand
"Did you make these?" Mandi said as he examined the cookie
"Yes, I did." Mallow said as Mandi took a bite
"This is the most revolting crumpet I ever tasted." Mandi said in disgusted
"What!?" Mallow shouted in outrage
"Hey, I don't know what your problem is, but that's no way to treat my friends & girlfriend." Ash said defensively
"Well, I say you have a bad taste in girls & friends." Mandi said
"& you have a bad taste in judgement." Ash said
"Is that so?" Mandi said with a slight glare "Then how about we settle this in our match."
"You got it." Ash said "During our match I'll make you regret insulting my friends & girlfriend."
"Hm, we'll see." Mandi smirked as he walked away
"Ash, do me a favor & destroy him." Mallow said
"Right." Ash said
When it was time for the match.
"Now, for the third battle on the Water Field." The announcer said "On the green side, we have newcomer Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town & on the red side, we have Mandi the Astounding, a Pokémon League favorite. What will Ash do as he faces one of the most popular Pokémon Trainers known for his exciting battle style?"
"It's showtime, Go Exeggutor." Mandi said as he sent out an Exeggutor
"Exeggutor." Exeggutor said
"Alright, Coconut Dragon, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Alolan Exeggutor named Coconut Dragon or CD for short.
"Exeggutor." CD said as everyone became surprised
"Amazing, this is the first time a Pokémon in another regional form has been used in the Indigo Plateau Conference." The announcer said
"Heh, it may be big, but it's an outsider Pokémon & all outsider Pokémon are weak." Mandi smirked
"We'll see about that." Ash said
"Tor?" CD glared at Mandi
ASH VS MANDI
"Exeggutor, use Magical Leaf." Mandi said. Exeggutor released multiple light green glowing leaves.
"CD, use Flamethrower." Ash said.
"How absurd, a Grass Type using Flamethrower." Mandi said amusingly
CD shot fire from his mouth which burned through the Magical Leaf & hit Exeggutor. Everyone was shocked when they saw a Grass Type Pokémon use a Fire Type Move.
"But how?" Mandi said shockingly
"There's one thing you don't know, Mandi. Alolan Exeggutors like CD aren't only Grass Types, they are also part Dragon Types." Ash said as Mandi's Eyes widened "& Dragon Types are capable of learning Fire Type moves like Flamethrower. Now, use Dragon Hammer."
CD swung his neck back and then forward, slamming his heads onto Exeggutor so hard he broke through the platform it was standing on. When Exeggutor floated back to the surface, it fainted
"Mandi's Exeggutor is unable to battle, Ash's Exeggutor wins." The referee declared
"Exeggutor return." Mandi said as he returned "Your luck will surely run out. Go Seadra."
Mandi sent out a Seadra
"Seadra." Seadra said
"Coconut Dragon return." Ash said as he returned CD "Marigold, I choose you!"
Ash sent out his Red Flower Florges named Marigold.
"Florges." Marigold said
"Ash has sent out a Florges, a Pokémon from the Kalos Region." The announcer said
"Interesting choice, but it's no match for the speed of my Seadra." Mandi said "Seadra, use Agility."
Seadra charged at Marigold at fast speed
"Marigold, use Magical Leaf." Ash said. Marigold released multiple light green glowing leaves & hit Seadra "You were saying, Mandi?"
"Fine, then we'll use Ice Beam." Mandi said as Seadra fired light blue beams of ice.
"Use Light Screen." Ash said. Marigold summoned a pink curved force field & protected herself
"Now, Sunny Day."
'Floooooor!" Marigold said as she summoned a brighter sun
"Use Dragon Rage." Mandi said. Seadra fired a powerful blast of blue energy & hit Florges which caused an explosion "That should finish it."
But Mandi was proven wrong when the smoke cleared, Marigold looked unharmed
"What!?" Mandi exclaimed shockingly
"You made a mistake in having Seadra use Dragon Rage." Ash said "Marigold's a Fairy Type & Fairy Types are immune to Dragon Type moves. Now, use Solar Beam."
Marigold glowed a faint yellow & instantly fired a yellow beam of energy & hit Seadra which caused it to faint
"Seadra is unable to battle, Florges wins." The referee declared
"Seadra return." Mandi said "You're really trying my patience, are you?"
"Maybe it'll make you think twice before judging people & Pokémon just because they're from another region." Ash said
"Hm, Golbat Go." Mandi said as he sent out a Golbat
"Marigold return." Ash said as he returned Marigold "Hershey, I choose you!"
Ash sent out his Alolan Raichu named Hershey
"Raichu." Hershey said
"Hershey, use Future Sight." Ash said
"Raichu!" Raichu said as her eyes glowed blue, summoned four wormholes & sent blasts of electrified psychic energy through them.
"Golbat, use Crunch." Mandi said. Golbat's created yellow teeth-like aura & charged at Hershey
"Use Psychic." Ash said
"Rai." Hershey said as her eyes glowed light blue & telekinetically threw Golbat back
"Use Double Team." Mandi said. Golbat glowed white & created multiple copies of itself
"Use Swift." Ash said. Hershey's tail glowed yellow & released multiple yellow stars from it & hit the copies & the real Golbat
Then the wormholes from before suddenly appeared above Golbat, fired the electrified psychic energy & hit it.
"Now, Volt Tackle." Ash said. Raichu became surrounded by golden electricity & tackled Golbat which caused it to faint
"Golbat is unable to battle, Raichu wins. So the victory goes to Ash of Pallet Town." The referee declared
"& there you have it, Newcomer Ash Ketchum has claimed an astounding victory in his first match." The announcer said
"Way to go, Hershey." Ash said as he hugged Hershey
"Raichu." Hershey said happily
"Ash!" Mallow said as she ran towards Ash
"Mallow?" Ash said as he got tackled by her "Whoa!"
They both fell into the water & when they went up to the surface
"You're so awesome!" Mallow exclaimed happily as she kissed him on the cheek "Mwah!"
"Thanks Mallow." Ash laughed
"But I'm Mandi the Astounding, how could me & my Pokémon lose to a Trainer's outsider Pokémon." Mandi said in defeat
Later everyone was congratulating Ash.
"You did great Ash." Lillie said
"Yeah, you were awesome." Sophocles said
"You really showed that bully." Lana said
"Thanks guys." Ash said
"Ash, Lillie, Mom." A voice said
Everyone looked & saw a boy with light blonde hair, green eyes. His hair is shaved on the sides with a ripped design carved into it, with long tousled bangs that cover his right eye. He was wearing a gray hooded shirt with a red slash resembling a scar on it, a black undershirt with ripped sleeves, ripped black pants & red shoes with gray soles & black laces
"Gladion." Lillie said
"Hey Lillie." Gladion said
"Oh Gladion, we're so happy to see you." Lusamine said as she kissed his head
"Mom." Gladion groaned in annoyance
"Gladion, is that really you?" Ash said as he walked up to him
"Hey Ash." Gladion said
"Long time no see cuz." Ash smiled
"A lot has happened since Mom & I arrived at Kanto." Lillie said
"Like what?" Gladion asked
Lillie told her about Ash's Pokémon & how she lost her fear of touching Pokémon. Gladion was surprised & happy for her.
"Hm." Gladion smiled "Since you lost your fear of touching Pokémon, I guess now's the time to give you these."
Gladion sent out a Kanto & Alola Vulpix
"I caught thess Vulpix & was saving them until the day Lillie lost her fear." Gladion said
"& you're giving them to me?" Lillie asked surprisingly
"Yes." Gladion nodded
"Oh my gosh, thank you so much, you're the best big brother ever." Lillie said as she hugged him
"You're welcome, Lillie." Gladion said as he turned to Ash "Ash, since you have a Silvally, I want you to have these."
Gladion gave Ash 18 disc-like objects.
"What are these?" Ash asked
"They're Memories, you can use them to activate Silvally's RKS System ability." Gladion said "Each Memory contains 18 Types, when you use a Memory on Silvally, it will change its Type, you can only use one in each battle."
"Thanks Gladion." Ash said
At night, Ash & Mallow were on a date in a restaurant with Meowth, Meowzie, Pikachu, & Buneary, but Ash was acting very quiet.
"Ash, are you okay?" Mallow asked
"Yeah, I'm just thinking about Uncle Mohn." Ash said
"Was he close to you?" Mallow asked
"Yeah, he was very kind & friendly, he was actually like a father to me." Ash said "But I don't get it, it's not like Uncle Mohn to disappear like that."
"How did Gladion react to it?" Mallow asked
"I talked to him & he's determined to look for him." Ash said
"Hm." Mallow said "Hey Ash, do you think that was the last we see of Ricky."
"I don't know, but I get the feeling we'll be running into him again." Ash said
At Team Rocket Headquarters, Giovanni was in the lab in front of Ricky who was in a container since they found his body
"How's the specimen, Dr. Zager?" Giovanni said
"Stable, we will begin the operation soon enough." Dr. Zager said
"Excellent." Giovanni smiled evilly
