I'm back again, after a bit of a hiatus. I've come up with a small idea for yet another character inclusion.
Breaking waves softly swept against the sandy shores of the Destiny Islands, the setting sun illuminating them with a deep orange glow. A boy sat by the shore, his black leather jacket and spiked brown hair blowing in the gentle breeze.
Sora
Keyblade's Chosen One
"Hey, Sora!" called a female's voice. Sora looked over his shoulder to see a familiar auburn-haired girl in a pink outfit. She was waving to him. "Come on, Riku wanted to have dinner with us!"
"I'll be there in a minute, Kairi," Sora replied. "Tell Riku to save me a plate."
"Can do!" Kairi left the area, leaving Sora to his thoughts.
Sora still missed Donald and Goofy. After everything that had happened, with Organization XIII, the Heartless, and all those different worlds, the Keyblade wielder had been forced to say goodbye to his comrades. To Sora, Donald and Goofy were like brothers.
I'll miss our adventures, Sora thought. The three of us have been through a lot together.
Sora got to his feet and left the beach, walking in the same direction Kairi had gone.
Then, glowing. Coming from the palm of his right hand.
Sora lifted his hand, and in his grip, the Keyblade appeared. "Huh?" he said, confused.
The Keyblade's tip began to emit a bright light. Sora knew what that meant.
He held the Keyblade out in front of him, its tip pointed forward. A beam shot from the Keyblade, stopping a few meters in front of Sora and forming a keyhole. Sora turned the Keyblade as if turning an actual key, and the keyhole began to glow.
The keyhole's glow faded, revealing a grassy field on the other side. It was a portal.
Sora's mind raced. What? Another world?
Hesitating, Sora slowly stepped through the keyhole, leaving Destiny Islands and entering this strange new world. The keyhole disappeared behind him.
Sora looked around. Sure enough, he'd ended up in a grassy meadow. The Keyblade wielder took in his surroundings.
The sun seemed to be rising upon the horizon, lighting up the early morning sky. Weirdly, the sun had been setting on Destiny Islands. Perhaps the time of day in this world was somehow connected to the time of day in Destiny Islands?
Sora continued to look around. A little ways into the distance was a palace surrounded by a city. Immediately Sora thought of Disney Castle, where King Mickey and his court resided. King Mickey, though a little mischievous, was a fair ruler, and under him, the kingdom prospered. Sora hoped that the ruler of this kingdom was the same.
"Whoever the leader of this kingdom is, they're probably my best bet in terms of answers," Sora said to himself.
And with that, the Keyblade wielder set off for the distant palace.
Yes, in celebration of his recent reveal as the final DLC character for Smash Ultimate, Sora joins the cast of More Than Just a Shield!
