Chapter 13: Memories

Previously

After recovering from the Nomu incident, Mono and Six went back to school.

However, after a few days, Six suddenly acts weirdly, making Mono worried. And the act of running away of Six makes Mono had to check her out.

Little did he know, Six went uncontrolled as the Hunger took over her, making her tackled and bit Mono's arm.

"AHHHH!"- Mono is in extreme pain as Six keeps biting his arm, deeper and deeper.

"SIX! CALM DOWN!"- Mono shouts, easing his pain a little, and then tries to pull Six away. However, it only backfires, causing him more pain.

Mono looks at Six's eyes, which are pure aggression.

However, there, some tears drip out.

Looking at that, Mono knows that there's still some of her inside.

Mono tries to think of a way to help Six.

However, the pain cuts Mono's thought as Six bites deeper.

With no moment to think, Mono pulls Six closer and hugs her tightly to his chest.

...

Strangely, the pain seems to wear off.

Then, Six suddenly backs away from Mono, making him surprised.

Six's face fills with panic and confusion.

"Six?"- Mono says as he reaches out his unbitten arm.

Suddenly, Six rushes out of the room, leaving Mono confused about what happened.

"SIX!"

...

Mono gets out of the elevator. His hand covers with a bandage.

Looking around the lobby, Six is nowhere. There're only some classmates left.

"Hey, Kirishima! Hi Mina! Have you seen Six ran by?"- Mono says in a panic.

"Six? Yes, I saw her ran outside."- Kirishima points at the door -"But, strangely, she didn't bring an umbrella. It's raining heavily outside."

Mono looks and sees that it's storming outside.

Mono immediately rushes to the door to look for Six but is stopped by Mina, the pink-haired girl.

"Hey! If you look for Six in this condition, you may need this."- Mina says as she hangs Mono an umbrella.

Taking it, Mono rushes outside.

Six runs in the heavy rain, which makes her exhausted real quick. She then decides to stand in the heavy rain alone, thinking about what she has done.

"I...bit Mono?"

"No. no. No. Not again."

"Why'd it happen again?"- Six thinks about the scene -"I almost tear his arm apart."

"Why'd everyone with me end up suffering?"

Six thinks about the pre-owner of her old yellow raincoat ended up, presumingly, dead after helping her at the Nest.

Mono and Six have been having such a good time together.

"But...If I didn't even meet him...He would never have experienced such betrayal."

Because she thinks her relationship with Mono ruins, tears start to drip while getting mixed with rain.

...

Suddenly, the rain stops falling on her already-wet clothes though the rain sound's still there.

Six looks back, there Mono is, holding an umbrella over her head with a caring face.

"Six."- Mono asks with care -"Are you fine?"

Six is confused but then looks away.

"WHY ARE YOU HERE?"- Six shouts at Mono, trying to hide her inside -"I...I ALMOST TORN YOUR ARM APART!"

Six let her wet hair down to avoid eye contact.

"Six."- Mono says he pats Six's head -"I'm fine. Don't worry!"

"This..."- Mono shows his bandaged arm -"Although it's painful, I still forget you for this! So don't be sad!"

"But...But I can't control my Hunger..."- Six says like holding back -"If it happens again, I may hurt..."

"...Or even kill you. Or..."

"SIX!"- Mono interrupts Six -"It's okay. Don't be so stubborn! It's not like you!"

"My usual Six wouldn't be like this."- Mono says as he wipes out the tears of Six -"And those tears aren't fit with your beautiful ruby eyes."

"But...But...I...I betrayed you."

"Six."- Mono says calmingly -"You could break my heart in two."

"But when it heals, it beats for you."

That's the last drop that makes Six's emotion cup run over.

Six immediately leans into Mono's body and slowly starts crying.

She holds Mono's clothes tightly, unwanting to let them go.

She cries like she has been holding the emotion for a very, very long time.

.

As Six cries, Mono keeps patting her head for comfort.

Mono let her do that for a while since he knows the feeling. Regret. Sadness.

He has also cried a lot after Six dropped him at the Tower.

"Mono."

Mono looks at Six, who still has tears in her eyes and smiles.

"Yes, Six?"

"Thank you for forgiving me."

"No. I'm the one who needs to say thank you."- Mono says as he keeps patting Six, who doesn't resist and goes with it anyways.

That is the only time Mono sees Six acting like a real normal girl.

"I wouldn't have such a good time without you."

Mono then processes to hug Six.

When Suddenly

"OWWW!"- Mono's cheek is suddenly pinched by Six, making him release his hand to hold the pain.

"SIX! WHAT'S WITH THE PINCH?!"

"You're so soft, so I need to check."- Six then giggles while still has some tears on her eyes.

"That HURTS."

"Hahaha. It's nice to talk with you, Mono."- Six then smiles to Mono -"Thank you."

Mono is relieved that the usual Six is back again.

After patting Six's head once more, Mono and Six starts walking back to the dorm.

.

Meanwhile

On the top of the main building, there a woman stands and observes.

"Hmmm."

"One has escaped the loop."

"How strange!"

"Maybe...he's here, somewhere."

Note: Class 1-A and 1-B fight is coming. Mono and Six will get their suit, which I still don't know how to describe in detail, but I will try.
