Ben's P.O.V

"Who is that..." I blurt out to my mother gently with interest, "... She looks like an Angel."

I had just come out of my tent to meet my mother, General Leia, this morning like I usually do, when I saw a girl talking to my father and Chewy. She's the same height and looks the same age as me. Her hair is different strains of blonde and in a braid that I've seen my mother wear before. She has on the same attire as me, but my tunic is tan and hers is white. The girl has blue eyes, pale skin, and a button size nose. I don't see any girls my age because of my training, but I'm confident with every ounce in my body that she's loveliest one in existence. No doubt the reason she's here with my family. Looking up to my mother, I notice her with an amused grin as she answers me.

"That's Anakia Kenobi, you may call her Ani."

"Where did she come from?"

"She the granddaughter of a Jedi Master. Obi-Wan Kenobi, he was once a good friend of mine and Master Skywalker's before passing away. You remember your uncle's stories about old Ben... Well, that's his granddaughter." My mother informs me before kneeling down in front of me. She sets a hand on my shoulder just as excitement rushes into my expression and says to me carefully, "Now, Ben... Her father has just passed away a few days ago, she has no one and nowhere to go."

"What happened?" I can't help but ask as I glance across at my mother to look at Ani, I sense mourning around her presence no matter how my father tries to lighten her spirits. She's smiling with dimples on each cheek as my father picks her up and puts her on the back of chewy. She squeals as chewy runs toward the Jedi Temple. Luke, my uncle, is probably waiting for me there to start today's training, but from the sight of the child, I think today's lesson will be different. Smiling wistfully at me, my mother pushes my hair back behind my ear and reveals, "They got strained on a planet known as Moraband. It's a dangerous place for a force user, and both of them are strong with the force like Old Ben. Her father sent out a message to any Mandalorian or Jedi around the system, to help them before pillagers found out there location. Luke got the message and found Ani before the pillagers could but... Her father didn't make it, he had died trying to protect her, but you mustn't talk about this with her out of respect, do you understand?"

"I understand, mom," I murmur with the sense of grief in the air, "Is she going to stay here now? With us?"

"Yes, she's going to train alongside you. She and her family have always been strong with the force and outstanding warriors... I feel you both will become powerful Jedi with Luke as your Master." My mother grins and nods at me with love in her eyes, "... And I know you will become good friends as her grandfather and yours once were."

My eyes grow big in realization; her grandfather, Obi-Wan, was once a friend of my grandfather, Anakin. Luke has told me many stories of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, as brothers, as warriors, and as enemies. I look back at her in wonder, the notion that we're already connected forms in my chest. I could feel the excitement of having someone in my life train alongside me stir inside. For weeks it's just been me being trained by my family, but now I have someone to do this journey with, side by side. The thought of her family trained with my family over generations melts my heart and suddenly I couldn't wait to start our lesson today.

"I need mention this is, though." My mother stands up and takes my hand, suggesting in caution, "You must look out for her... We are all she has now. So it's our responsibility to keep her safe."

"I see... I will, mom, promise." I state with assurance in my tone that I never knew I had until now, "When can I meet her?"

"Right now, come." My mother announces and tugs my hand lightly, "I'll introduce you both before training begins."

We head toward the Jedi Temple, hand in hand, as silence fills the surrounding air. I think about my mother and a stack of questions forms in my mind from all she said just moments ago. I know I can't just bombard her with questions about Anakia, I'll have to ask her some myself. However, one keeps nagging my mind as we get closer to the Temple. My father, Chewy and Anakia are already inside, probably waiting for us. When we're almost there, I can't stop myself from seeking an answer from my mother.

"Mom... If her name is Anakia... Do you think she's names after Anakin? My grandfather?"

"Hm... I'm not sure, Ben. Perhaps, why don't you ask?" My mother shrugs not sure and pops a teasing eyebrow my way while pointing out in a sly tone, "You could always mention to her your named after her grandfather... I bet she'd like to know that... She did just see his force ghost a few days ago."

"His what?!"

~One Year Later~

"Ben! Ben! Come on! Let's go!"

Looking up from my book, I see Anakia run into my hut; she looks out of breath as she looks around my room. I'm sitting on my bed reading a book about mental sensitive force using. She at the moment should read her own book on the subject, but by her excitement, I know something must have happened. Her hair is in a single fancy braid by my mother, the dress she's wearing looks just like something my mother would wear as well. Since Ani has lived here, my mother has done all these things with her that make no sense to me, I get the sense she's always wanted a daughter though. The dress Ain's wearing today after training is light blue, it goes to her feet and the sleeves hang over her hands. There's a silver lining around the edges and it's only then when I notice she also has a silver matching bow at the bottom of her braid. Putting my book down as I look up from her dress, I ask curiously, "What's going on?"

"I saw the Falcon fly over the Jedi Temple!" Anakia squeals, practically bouncing in place before running out repeating, "Come on! They've probably already landed!"

My eyes light up at the thought of my father coming back from his trip already and run out with her. I chase after her in the field to where Chewy and my father usually land. I feel the thrill of seeing him again; he comes to visit at least once a month, around the same time my mother comes to see us. When they're both here, Ani and I rarely get any work assigned to us by Master Luke. We will still train in the morning until lunch, but after my parents usually pull us away from him to spend time with us. When they aren't here, Ani and I spend an equal amount of time working out, using the force physically and mentally, learning to fight one on one, and light saber combat. Which usually lasts until supper, and by that time we're both too tired to do anything else but sleep.

When we're not training with Luke, we have to read what he's assigned to us. Sometimes we have to read the same thing other times we don't. Ani will sometimes have to ready Mandalorian leadership books, Luke says it will help her stay in touch with her father and grow better leadership and battle skill. I usually have to read the history of the Jedi or forces sensitive communication when she is reading those books, for I will be the one who will be responsible to keep their beliefs alive. I can tell she has to read more and I feel kind of bad for her because that's the most boring thing we have to do. She hasn't complained about it but I'm waiting on the day she does. When we turn to the side of the Jedi Temple, I can see the Falcon on the ground and the shuttle slowly going down to the ground. Sprinting faster, I then call out as I pass Ani, "Dad! Dad!"

"Do I hear a powerful Jedi calling to me?" I hear my father's voice announce loudly as I see his feet walking out of the Falcon, "You're right, Chewy... No Jedi ever wants to talk to me."

I hear Ani laugh as we both slow down our running to a stop. We're a few feet away from the Falcon now as my father and Chewy walk out and onto the grass. My dad looks at the two of us, puts his hands on his hips before grinning and speaking, "Hey, kids."

Chewy lets out a loud sound we've heard so many times, and all I and Ani can do is beam up at them and run into their arms. My dad picks me up chuckling and Chewy throws Ani onto his shoulders. Chewy and my dad walk toward the Jedi temple, where my mom and Master Luke are probably waiting for all of us. I can't help but hug my dad tighter as he holds me and ask in pure joy, "How long are you staying this time?"

"Well, how long do you want me to stay?" He asks and raises an eyebrow innocently to which Ani and I say together, "Forever."

"Forever?" He and Chewy burst out laughing before he responds by making a good point, "I have a feeling Luke will kick me out before forever."

Chewy then says something to my father, making Ani and I look back and forth at them before finally settling on my dad. He sighs dramatically at chewy before nodding his head and answering back, "We'll give them their gifts after dinner, Chewy. Leia is going to be mad if-"

"What gifts?!"

"Well, it's supposed to be a surprise..." Dad sends chewy a look before looking down at me and answering with mischief in his tone, "...But on our mission, we came across a few books on Mandalore and a purple saber I thought you two might enjoy... Seeing you both might get bored with the same color light sabers..."

"Hm..." Ani thinks out loud, making everyone look up at her on Chewy's shoulders as she asks my father, "Han, did you steal them?"

"Now, listen, young lady." My dad points at her with a wide eye look, "You've been talking too much to Leia."

We both giggle at that just as we enter the Jedi temple, I turn to seek Luke and my mother and just as expected, they're already waiting for us. My smile gets wider at the sight of everyone here, and I can't help but wonder how I got to be this lucky. I have the coolest parents, my Uncles are a Jedi Master and a Wookie, and my best friend is the granddaughter of my grandfather's best friend. Not only that, but Ani and I are training to be Jedi knights just like them. I feel as if I have everything I could ever want and I couldn't be happier. I wanted nothing to change. As I glance at Anakia on Chewy's shoulders I sense her force feeling the same. The grin she wearing tells me all I need to know as well, she's happy inside and out.

"Hello, Han..." My mother speaks up with a cautious smile, "Now please, tell me there's no unwanted company that followed you back here. I want nothing interrupting our dinner this time."

"Man, it happens one time and I'm brand for life."
