Ani's P.O.V.

Something unsettling in the force wakes me up; my eyes blink open to find Kylo still sleeping underneath me. His arm's draped around my waist as he lies on his back, his expression's relaxed in from his slumber. My leg's around his waist when I lift my head from his chest. Glancing around, I notice Snip scamper into the bathroom. Frowning at the sight of her, I sit up further from knowing we both feel the commotion in the light side of the force. My hand on Kylo's shoulder moves down to his abdomen so I can straighten up better in the bed. Just moving my hand on his chest, Kylo's eyes flutter open tiredly. The first thing his eyes catch is me above him, staring at me confused his hand lifts to my cheek.

"Ani, what is it?"

He grumbles out, half asleep while I look down at him; he instantly notices my concerned expression before glancing behind me. The next moment, his eyes go wide, becoming completely awake; his arm around my waist clings to me forcefully. His hand on my cheek grips the back of my head, and he flips us over toward his side of the bed. Falling off the bed, I hear a blast go through the windows and past our bed. I hit the ground with him on top of me as glass breaks all around us. The blast hits the cupboards and they break; the doors fall down on top of us. Kylo holds my head against his chest as his hand around my waist comes out to shield the stop of our heads. I hear him groan out in pain as the metal doors hit his back and I become suffocated underneath him. We listen to shouting and more blasters go off out from out the windows. Using his arm over our head, he lifts the doors on top of us with the force. They get thrown to the opposite corner of the room before Kylo lifts his head to face me.

"Are you okay?"

He blurts out, in a disturbance of what had just happened. He pushes my hair out of my face as I nod silently to him. Lifting his weight off me, he helps me stand up with him before peering out the window. I turn my head just in time to see a Tie fighter fly out of the hangar; as it disappears I feel the light side of the force soften. Realization hits me of what woke me up; FN-2187 was on that ship with our old light saber. I felt it with the force; he was calling to me. My breath catches, knowing he finally escaped this place and had warned me with the force. Kylo inspects my body for any marks. When determining I didn't get hurt, he finally scans around the room.

Glass is everywhere, both windows broke, and it's now in broken pieces covering the bed and floor. There's a large hole in the cupboards and the doors are crushed in the corner. The loveseat's split in half now as well. Our bed and loveseat look burnt from the blast of fire. Fire is catching on the mattress, and Kylo tugs me away to the doorway of the bathroom. Going inside, I find Snips in the corner scared. I hear Kylo rummaging through the broken cupboards as I kneel in front of Snips, ordering, "Jump, Snips."

She pounces onto my shoulder, and I stand back up with a hand holding her back. Coming out of the bathroom, Kylo's pulling a shirt over him, he's wearing his pants and shoes now with his saber at his hip. His eyes catch mine before glancing at snips, grabbing his helmet and my arm he guides us out of the front door quickly. Flames form on the bedsheets as we reach the door. Shoving the broken cupboard doors out of our way with haste, Kylo glances back at the flames growing. With a firm grip on my arm, he blurts out without a thought, "Come on. Hurry, Anakia."

He lets me out into the hallway first, before following behind me. I watch him put his helmet on before grabbing my arm again and rushing us down the hall. I watch stormtrooper run pass us in the opposite direction before we reach an elevator. Getting inside Kylo pressed a level; the doors close and we go down. Turning to me, Kylo explains in his dark robotic tone through his mask, "I'm going to put in a spare room for today until I figure out what's happened. I'll return tonight with more information, we'll probably spend the nights there for a few days."

"Okay."

I nod slowly as the door opens; he rushes us out and I have to slide Snips into my arms so she won't fall. I pick up my pace from Kylo's long strides out of the elevator. His hand is still around my arm, pulling me promptly down the hall. When we reach a door, he scans it open and drops his hand for me to enter. Glancing inside, I see it's as big as my old cells and feel my heart rate pick up. It's familiar to my cell beside the bed being a full size bed. As if noticing my panicking expression, Kylo speaks up again. "You won't stay here long, Ani. It's only until we rebuild my room. I promise I will return tonight. This is where I will stay as well."

"You..." I gulp, walking past the doorway with even more fear than before. "You broke our promises before, Kylo."

Turning around to face him when he doesn't answer me, I watch him close the door. I see him disappear behind the door before dropping Snips to the floor. I know he'll be back and this isn't considered a cell, but I'm getting the sensation as if it is one. His grip on me moments ago didn't help, but I understand it's from the urgency for what has happened. Trying to calm down my mind, I look around the room a second time. One look at the room and I feel tears forming, but they don't fall. The deja vu of my old cell consumes my mind and I feel the need to escape as if it the only thing I can do now. Sitting on the bed, I try to stay calm and think about anything else. It's only now that I remember how much of a toll those years alone in a cell were on me.

~That evening~

"Ms. Kenobi... dear, wake up, please."

Groaning lightly, I find the woman who does my hair beside the bed, staring down at me. Sitting up, I find her holding a dress and bag, Snip's beside me sleeping. Checking the time, I notice it's still the afternoon. I spent the afternoon sleeping to take my mind off the small room. Standing up, she offers me the dress and I raise it in front of me. It's a long, golden, strapless dress. In my opinion, it looks a little much for staying in this windowless room. The gold color matches the bracelets on my wrists, keeping me from using the force with my hands. Seeing my expression the woman explains, "Kylo requests you to wear this and for me to fix your hair, as well as your makeup. You will accompany him on a mission."

"Really?" I blurt out in shock, staring down at the dress I wonder what mission would he dare take me on in a dress like this. I spot on the table beside the bed a white fur jacket, heels and long gold gloves. Nodding with a small smile, the woman takes the dress and unzips it. Frowning in utter confusion, I strip and let her help me into the dress. Once it's covering my chest, she zips up the back. It's only then I see a single long slit that goes all the way to my thigh to make the dress walkable. It's tight everywhere besides past my thighs. She motions for me to sit on the chair. When I do, she takes a brush out of her bag and begins untangling my hair. The room looks sad and I feel awkward in the dress, making me speak up again. "Do you know where this mission is?"

"No, Ms. Kenobi." She answers easily as she takes out a curling iron and begins curling my hair, "I just know to get you ready before he gets here to retrieve you."

"Do you know what's become of our room?" I ask curiously as I feel the heat from the curling iron. "It got destroyed by the tie fighter this morning..."

"I'm not sure..." She sighs staring at my hair, "But I noticed stormtroopers bringing out what's left of the room that didn't get destroyed."

"I see," I mumble as she comes around to face me and curl the front. "Did you see Mandalorian armor, perhaps?"

"I did, Ms. Kenobi." She smiles genuinely at me before turning off the curler and continues messing with my hair. I return her smile in relief just as she pulls out things I've never seen before. She puts stuff on my face and I try to hold still for her. My eyes follow her every move, she's never put makeup on my face before. I never even worn makeup before, unless I count Leia putting lipstick on my lips for special occasions. Watching her, I feel a sense of peace in this small room; I find this room more bearable, having her here. It's the first time I've appreciated her here, I've always felt that it's wrong for her to dress me because it's always been Leia's job. She takes out what I know to be lipstick and opens it up; I see it's a deep red color as she rubs it on my lips. She takes a moment, but when she's done, she pulls back from my face and closed the tube. Watching her put it away, I finally ask her something I should have done long ago, "What's your name? I'm sorry I didn't ask before..."

"It's alright, you were fairly tense months ago... I'm Carmon Waldor." She grins at me as if she's been hoping for the day I ask. I nod and question, same as I did with FN-2187, "How did you end up here?"

"I was a slave, months ago." Carmon explains and starts putting something on my eyelashes, "I made many dresses for many women, styled their hair, and makeup for my last masters... One day they sold me off to the First Order. I've made dresses for you since then and no one else."

"Do you wish they didn't sell you to the first order?"

"At first, Ms. Kenobi. You were quite intimidating." She smirks before putting everything back in the bag. "Not anymore... In the beginning I felt like a prisoner such as you once were but now... I have a room to myself now, a place just for me to make any dress I want for you. They give me better meals and more freedom than I did in the past. They give me anything I want for you, the best of the best if I wish for it... All to make you look like the duchess you are."

"Hm... They told you my background?" I mumble a little surprise as she grabs the long gloves to help me slip on my hands. "My grandmother was a duchess... Not me. Perhaps in different life I would have been."

"They told me enough to be scared at first. They told me you are a Mandalorian Duchess trained by Jedi, to give me a sense of how to dress you..." She pauses a moment before commenting in an uneasy tone, "But with all do respect, Ms. Kenobi. You're wrong." Carmon lets go of my arms, she turns to grab a box out of her bag. Opening it up she takes out a pearl necklace with matching dangling earrings while finishing her train of thought, "By blood you will alway be a Duchess to Mandalorians, no matter how few are alive. I've met one once and they don't forget their history. You are one of few that are left as well, yes?"

"I never thought of it that way." I whisper out; the woman is smarter than she appears. I guess we both are, but don't show it from being tied to the First Order now. Feeling her put the necklace around my neck, I agree with her, "... But yes, I must be. I just never thought I was one... Any of them. Mandalorian, Duchess... A Jedi."

"Ah, well. I never consider myself a slave either." She speaks up and I can sense her grin beside me while putting on my earrings, "Easier to live with myself that way, as Carmon Waldor."

"Yes..." I turn to catch her eyes; we see the sorrow in one another as I confess, "It's easier to just be Anakia Kenobi."

"Well, Ms. Kenobi." She states with a singing tone, "This is where I leave you. Good luck with your mission."

Nodding goodbye to her, I watch her grab her bag and walk out the front door freely. I feel a smirk crossing my face from our conversation. Both of us have come a long way since the first time we saw one another. She used to be fearful of me and I was a roaring threat; but we've both come to terms with our new lives. No matter the pain we've experienced in the past, we've been able to grow from them. Standing up, I put the heels on and the fur coat; the coat is small and only covers my forearms. My shoulders are still bare, but at least it's not icy in the room. I go to sit on the bed beside Snip, who's still sleeping, and begin petting her back. Our conversation still in my mind, I keep repeating to myself that I'm just Anakia Kenobi. That name will never change on me, no matter if I'm in a cell, a room, on Yavin 4, a Jedi, a prisoner; no matter what's become of me, I'll always be Anakia Kenobi. That's someone I'm content to be.

Half an hour goes by and I hear the front door open. Turning my head away from playing with Snips, I find Kylo standing in the doorway. He's wearing an all black suit I've never seen him wear with no mask on. I stand up and watch his lips curl upward a hair from the sight of me. Walking toward him, his eyes roam my body and nods in approval. When I reach the doorway, he outstretches his arm, beckoning me to come into the hallway. I glance back at Snips watching us from the bed, and Kylo speaks up. "Someone will feed her while we're away. Don't worry."

"Where are we going?" I blurt out as I get out into the hall. The door shuts behind me, and his hand rests on my lower back. He guides us down the hall, explaining with an amiable tone, "Cantonica... You're stunning, by the way-"

"Why am I coming with you?" Interrupting his compliment, I gaze up at him cautiously while we reach an elevator. His expression turns into amusement from knowing that won't be my last question of the night. Making the elevator go down he explains with a genuine tone, "I'm keeping my promise, wherever I go, you go." I bite my lip, wanting to argue about his statement, but I don't feel like opening up that conversation at the moment. He tilts his head, waiting for the elevator to stop informing me, "We'll be there for a few days... When we get back here our room will be ready."

"Okay..." I mumble before asking in a confusion as the elevator comes to a stop, "You're trusting me on a mission? Why?"

"I'm on a mission, Angel." He smirks, guiding us out of the elevator once it opens. "You're just coming for the ride. I don't trust leaving you alone again for days after what happened last time... Specifically in that room too."

"I see... I've never been to Cantonica before, is this what they wear?"

I gesture to our wardrobe; I've never never seen Kylo this nicely dressed, and it has me wondering if it's to blend in on that planet. He nods as he motions for us to go through a door; stepping through, I see us in the hangar I watch throughout the day in his room. We're walking past stormtroopers and other people taking no mind to us. I feel weird walking around so freely without fighting my way through it. Some people glance our way but make no move to attack and I feel as if I've gained immunity, but I'm also not killing anyone either, like I've done before. I notice us heading toward a black Upsilon-class command shuttle. He pushes me lightly to walking on the ramp to go inside, when I do I notice two large black bags on the side. He moves me until we're at the very front of the ship. It has two seats and I sit down in the passenger seat. He sits down in the other seat and begins pushing buttons and switches. I hear the ramp close and the ship engine start up. I watch everything he's messing with as the ship moves. Glancing at me, Kylo speaks up with in a mischief manner, "You remember Lando Carrisian?"

"Yes." My eyes grow bigger in awe at his question; the thought that we might we might see him on this mission makes my heart race. Kylo never brings up people we knew back in our apprentice days, which only shocks me more than that he's bringing up Han's best friend. We saw him a handful of times growing up on Yavin 4, sometimes he came with Han and other times alone. They would take us on little vacation trips to planets with Leia and Luke's permission. Kylo steers us out of the hangar into space, and I feel my excitement grow. I lean forward, staring at the galaxy full of stars as we fly straight. I haven't seen space in years, and I feel the rush of exhilaration cross over me. Leaning back in his seat, Kylo asks again with an expression like he knows my answer, "You remember Sabacc... The card game he taught us?"

"Of course! We used to clean up."

I grin, giggling at the memories playing on the falcon with him and Han. We would also watch them play it at a run down pub that allowed us to come. Every trip we went on, they would go somewhere to play it. Kylo and I became very good at the game because of the force, so good Han and Lando would get us to help them during games. No one had any idea at the hubs that were force sensitive or that we knew how to play the game because we were only children. We became so good Lando said we should to the Canto Bight, it's apparently the wealthiest casino he knows of but Han would always disagree about taking us there knowing Leia would murder him if he took us there.

Though, we helped the guys win big at small hubs and they'd give us part of their winnings as a bribe, not to mention that part of the trips to Leia and Luke. The brief trips always felt like a boys' trip, even though I'm a girl. It felt like a rite of passage to be a part of Lando, Han, and Chew's trips. They always filled those trips with learning about ships, conning people, card games, and finding out scandals across the galaxy. Leia and Luke have a sense of what happened on those trips but never got upset about it because Ben and I were always so cheerful coming back to the Jedi Temple. I smile at all the fun Ben and I had on those trips, mumbling out while watching the stars.

"Those were good times... Before they stopped..."

"Visiting, yeah. Those were the days." Kylo sighs with a grief smile on his face. I turn to peek at him then. He seems conflicted by anger and cherishes from recalling the same thoughts I'm having. My smile drops slightly when remembering when Han, Chewy and Lando stopped coming to get us for those trips. That was the beginning of Ben's loathing and resentment toward our family and life at the Jedi Temple. Sitting up straighter, Kylo points out in a different tone than before, "Well, I hope you still how to run the table..."

"Why?"

"We're going to the City Canto Bight."

"We're going to the Casino? For a mission?"
