In Weiss's office, Ruby turned to Weiss. "Might not hurt to learn more about these new kids." She said.

Weiss nodded then looked at Pyrrha, who nodded on instinct and pulled out her Scroll tablet. "Someone point out names and I'll look them up."

The others nodded.

Lapis began to walk through the forest, looking around the forest. She soon heard gunfire and ran in the direction it was coming from. She saw Ragora fighting Beowolves and Ursai. She drew her sword then ran in and took out a Beowolf that planned to flank Ragora.

"Thanks for that." The witch said.

"No problem." Lapis said then loaded a crystal of ice Dust into the hilt of her sword, causing the blade to turn light blue. She and Ragora then looked at an Ursa in front of them before looking at each other. ""How about a double team, Ragora?"

"Let's do it." The witch said.

Lapis nodded then charged the Grimm and slashed at it, freezing it. Ragora ran in then switched Hexentanz from gun mode to glaive mode then blasted the frozen Grimm apart. Afterwards, the two looked at each other.

"You're good." Lapis said.

"Says the girls trying to be the next Grimm Reaper." Ragora said with a slight smirk.

Lapis rolled her eyes with a smile. "Shall we?"

Ragora nodded then the two began to head for the northern end of the forest.

Pyrrha typed the name Ragora on her tablet and quickly got a file pulled up. "Ragora Cinarum. Her Semblance allows her to summon a familiar to aid her in battle. Her weapon alternates between a shotgun and a glaive." She said.

"Kinda reminds me of your weapon, sis." Yang said to Ruby.

"Only difference is mine's a sniper rifle." Ruby said.

"And the silver eyed girl?" Nora asked.

"Lapis Lazuli, the self proclaimed Defender of the Four Kingdoms. Her Semblance allows her to control anyone who looks her in the eyes as hers change through the seven colors of the rainbow. Her weapon is a katana that can change into an assault rifle. She can also load raw Dust crystals into it, resulting in the blade matching the color of the corresponding Dust." Pyrrha said.

Adam sneered at the sight of Lapis.

Cinder was going through the forest when she came across Neo. Neo smiled at Cinder, who smiled back.

"Come on, Neo." Cinder said then the two moved to head for the temple.

Meanwhile, Mercury fired his boots in a Grimm's face, sending it back a ways then it swells up and explodes.

"Nice job, Mercury." Emerald said and he turned to her.

Simin threw a green wind lance at the ground and several Grimm were caught up in a tornado as Vella ran to him and shot at the Grimm, killing them.

"Thanks, Vella." He said

"No problem, Simin." She replied then the two began walking north.

"Pyrrha." Jaune said.

"Done. The girl with Cinder goes by the name Neopolitan. Her Semblance allows her to create very convincing illusions. Her weapon of choice is a little parasol she carries." The redhead replied.

"I've heard she's quick and light on her feet." Roman said.

"The boy with gray hair is Mercury Black, son of the late assassin Marcus Black. He had a Semblance but his father stole to make his son stronger and refused to give it back. His weapons are his mechanical prosthetic legs."

"Daddy must've planned to make his son an assassin like him." Blake said.

"The girl with Mercury is Emerald Sustrai. She's said to be the stealthiest person in the world. Her Semblance lets anyone see what she wants them to, but she has to limit herself. Her weapons are twin revolvers that serve as sickles and kusarigama."

"Potential, perhaps." Ruby said.

"The boy who threw the wind lance is Simin Megistus. Like Mercury, he has no Semblance, but makes up for it with his weapon. A device on the back of his jacket that lets him make weapons from ice Dust, fire Dust, wind Dust, and earth Dust."

"That's pretty cool." Yang said.

"And finally, Vella Moisia. Her Semblance lets her use a pair of glyphs that behave like magnets. When active, her weapon can alternate between a bow and a rifle."

"All in all, a strong batch this year." Weiss concluded.

"So it would seem." Ren said.

"We'll see." Adam said.

Lapis and Ragora soon reached a sight of ruins.

"Could this be it?" Ragora asked.

"One way to find out." Lapis said as the two walked to the ruins.

"Wonder what old man Oz used as relics this year?" Yang said.

"I remember the little gemstones he used for our year." Pyrrha said.

"Something tells me this year's relics will be less...extravagent." Blake said.

Ragora and Lapis reached the temple and saw what this year's relics were.

"...Chess pieces?" Lapis thought aloud.

"We weren't the first ones here. Some are already missing." Ragora said.

"Let's pick one then wait for others to get here." Lapis said.

Ragora nodded then soon picked up a white rook piece. "How about this one?" She asked, showing Lapis the piece she picked up.

"Sure." Lapis nodded.

"Not too hard."

"This place is pretty easy to find."

"You could say that again." The two heard Cinder say then saw her and Neo approach. "So, what are the relics?"

"Chess pieces." Ragora said.

Neo looked at one of the white knight pieces and picked it up, showing it to Cinder, who smiled softly.

"Like that one, Neo?" She asked and the shorter girl nodded with a smile.

The ground shook a little.

"What was that?" Lapis asked.

Neo used sign language.

"We saw markings of a Deathstalker by a cave entrance and avoided it. Guess someone didn't follow our example." Cinder translated.

"We'd better be ready." Lapis said as she drew her sword as Neo had part of a metal blade extend from Hush. Cinder drew both of hers while Ragora shifted Hexentanz to glaive mode.
