"So wait, you guys stopped some sort of alien trade deal?" Before he could go, Sero was asked by his parents to help them out with something, which had stopped him from arriving on time. Kaminari had timed out a while back and finished short circuiting the canisters and vehicles when they did. The duo then had to walk along the wall until they reached a point where they could get back onto the path, which is where they met Sero and filled him in on the details.
"Well Kaminari did. I was trying to climb down and to not ruin my clothes again. He used a new alien. Spidermonkey." Kirishima filled in for Sero.
"Probably going to need your experience to know how to swing around with the webs though." Kirishima said. Kaminari looked at him in disdain as Sero chuckled.
"So I need to take in an apprentice eh? Interesting." He joked. Kaminari groaned at his friend's gesture.
"Why do you guys pick on me? It's not my fault the Omnitrix had Spidermonkey over the Tetramand." He grumbled.
"Yeah but if you let me see if that was the right face, I would have told you. Spidermonkey has 6 eyes, Mrs. Muzu had four. It was your own error this time." Kaminari groaned from Kirishima's defense. It was a sound one and he didn't have an excuse for it.
"Well, who was it for?" Sero asked.
"For someone called the carpenters. Maybe it's some alien building company but I don't think they would be willing to openly fire at teenagers if it was just a building company." Kirishima explained. Kaminari nodded, knowing first hand how aggressive they were.
"And if they were aliens… do you think that some of our alien buddies might know what they are?" Sero reasoned.
"I mean, it's possible. Maybe Eric or Glenn knows something." Kaminari said.
"And if they were delivering tech for these guys, I bet the aliens I met would know. I think I'll go and ask those guys if they might know anything." Sero explained.
"We'll join you then." Kirishima added but Sero shook his head.
"Uh, I don't think it would be smart for Kaminari to come with me. These guys are kinda… I wanna say trigger happy but it doesn't exactly fit. They like to break and remake stuff and I don't know how that would work with the Omnitrix." He explained. Kaminari gulped and looked at the watch. He certainly didn't want that to be broken, even if he didn't know it could be broken. It did seem to hold some sense of indestructibility but he didn't think using Kirishima as a factor for defense should be a good idea.
"So then I'll go visit Eric and Glenn. You two go after these uh, tech aliens and I'll visit them." He explained. The other two nodded. Kaminari looked down and dialed in XLR8 for transport. He didn't know if XLR8 had the ability to carry multiple people at once or even how he would do that with his strange form but he could always make multiple trips. Just zip through the forests to avoid the public and boom. At Undertown.
So when he pressed the dial and got Kickin Hawk, he was a little annoyed.
"What!? I dialed XLR8! Argh, at least Kickin Hawk has some good speed." He groaned. He looked at Sero and Kirishima who looked like they were resisting the urge to start laughing uncontrollably.
"What?"
"It's just you look ridiculous! What are you, a chicken!?" Sero howled in laughter and Kirishima started to laugh. Kaminari slapped his forehead in embarrassment.
"No! I'm a hawk! Not a- You know what? Forget it. Let's just go." He complained before getting on his knee. Sero and Kirishima took the incentive and grabbed onto his vest on his back. Sero tapped his hand to it along with Kirishima's for a better grip. When he stood, it was almost comical with how small Sero and Kirishima were to Kickin Hawk, as they were just hanging in the air.
"Well, Kickin Hawk's delivery is in session!" He cawed before he kicked off the ground at breakneck speeds. He felt the wind ruffle through his feathers as he also felt Kirishima and Sero's bodies dangle in the wind. He tried to avoid as many trees and turning as he could but he did know at least one of them could handle it.
Sero? Well, he could tough it out.
He saw a road rapidly coming and so he did what he thought was necessary.
He jumped up.
"DUDE, WHAT THE HECK?!" Sero screamed behind him.
"What's wrong!? Gonna chicken out?" Kaminari laughed as they soared over the treeline and road. He couldn't see very far but it looked amazing. He took a breath in, noticing it felt crisp and clear. The sun shined down on him and made him feel relaxed. But the feeling couldn't last forever as he was now falling to the ground, where he just thought of something.
How good is Kickin Hawk at dealing with heights?
"HOLD ON!" Kaminari cawed as they crashed through the treeline, whipping their bodies with branches and leaves. Kaminari reached behind him and grabbed the two hitchhikers off his back and into his body to shield them before they fell off and hurt themselves. Luckily, Kickin Hawk's instincts seemed to kick in and he tucked and rolled.
"Ow… don't… do that again." Kirishima groaned as he pushed himself off. Sero mumbled in agreement and Kaminari nodded as he also got up.
"I think we just walk the rest of the way. Kickin Hawk express isn't worth it." Sero said without enthusiasm as he rolled his shoulder.
"Alright then, we walk the rest of the way." Kaminari agreed.
…
"Alright, just follow me Kirishima when we get down there. Kaminari, you can go to Eric's place and ask. Uh, where should we meet?" Sero leaned towards entering the tree before he thought of that detail. Kaminari looked down at Kirishima to think of something.
"I mean, we could all just meet at the other place. And if Kaminari couldn't come to where we are going, me and you could just go to Eric's place." Kirisihima suggested the two. Kaminari nodded to them and the trio started their descent into the stairway. Kaminari walked behind them as they went down, due to his larger physique.
"Also remember." Sero turned to them after briefly stopping. "Eric said gotta have false names. I might have a sneaky suspicion that it may be handy here. Kaminari might have an easy time with his aliens but we are going to need to account for anything else. I haven't told the aliens we are meeting my name, have you guys?" He asked the two.
"I never told the Kinecelerans. They just referred to me by the watch kid." Kaminari explained. The two stared at him as the Omnitrix beeped and turned him back.
"Ok, yes. They saw me transform. But they are honestly pretty cool people." He reasoned with flair in his hands. The other two sighed as if they were dealing with a young kid. "On the plus side, I don't feel as obligated to hide my ability to turn into aliens as a few of the people in Undertown are probably in this thing." The two sighed as Kaminari saved their eyes with some electricity for lighting.
"I mean that's fair." Kirishima agreed to his reasoning and Sero followed suit.
"I never told Mrs. Muzu my name, so I'm good too." Kirishima said.
"Alright, I think I'll tell people my name is Kaine in case anyone asks. What are you guys going to try?" Sero asked them.
"Hmm, I'll try Peter. Sounds like a manly name." Kirishima thought. Kaminari thought for a second for him to come up with something.
"I guess try Virgil? I don't know if it'll really matter for me as Glenn and Eric already know my name and I don't see them being against us. Plus as you said, I could probably just use my aliens as a disguise should it be needed." Kaminari thought.
"Alright. We split to go get some answers and met back at Eric's home. Got it?" Sero reassured that was their game plan with the two nodding. He looked at them before they continued.
They walked down the stairs with their new sense of vigor and when they reached the bottom, they split. Sero and Kirishima went towards the left and Kaminari made his way towards their methanosian friends. He got a few looks from the aliens around but they paid no attention to him as he traveled. He subconsciously covered the Omnitrix as it charged with his hand, so he could turn into Kickin Hawk if needed.
Or he could shock them if that happened before he recharged.
"Hey kid!" He turned to a voice but he almost started laughing. He watched as a blue haired and teal outfitted fairy tale-like fairy fluttered towards him with a teal trail of dust following him.
"I seeee, that you are newww. We haven't a hhhuman here, so what bbrrrings you here?" Periodically in his speech, the fairy would make a purring sound that would draw out words as they spoke. It was taking a lot of his will power to resist chuckling at the ridiculousness of the situation.
He guessed like quirks, aliens came in every shape and form.
"I uh… I'm just looking for someone. That's all." He explained. The fairy nodded to his words.
"Mmmay I be of assssistance?" The fairy asked him. With another smirk, he continued.
"Nope, I'm good." The fairy flew around him, seeming to look over him like he was some prize, before they chuckled and started to leave.
"Wwell! Be safe!" The pixie called to him. Kaminari waved towards him in response before sighing with a sense of joy. He was glad he was able to hold it in but it was funny to him in a way. He turned back to going over towards the river, and treading over the bridge to the other side. He walked through the small market and waved to those who were around. They seemed friendly to him and adjusted to the fact he was a human, or the fact he could turn into aliens as well.
Maybe the word hadn't spread from when he played in that football game.
But soon, he reached his destination. It was a small single story house with a small shed by the side where he believed they kept gardening tools and such. Although, from what he gathered from Glenn, they had the ability to influence the growth of planets so it was a little confusing as to why they needed it anyway.
He sighed and knocked on the door. He stood waiting for it to open or to hear anything from the residents from the abode. He could smell the methane waft into his nose already from under the door. He should really bring a mask into this or see if he can just tough it out as someone like Upgrade.
"Come in!" Eric called out from the inside. Kaminari turned the handle and was greeted by the hazy green air. He took the last breath of clean air and walked in. The interior looked normal by most standards of homes, except there wasn't a kitchen really. Being herbivores, they mainly ate the fruits and plants around their house, so they had no need to cook or chill food.
Which is why their walls were lined with the stuff. To keep them all fed and healthy. It felt like he just walked into the world's most putrid greenhouse.
He saw Mura playing with some toys and Eric was looking over some papers, or what he assumed was paper. It didn't seem affected by the heavy air around them at least.
"Eric, I was wondering if I could ask you something." Kaminari walked towards the tall figure. He looked up at him from his papers.
"Yeah?" Kaminari suddenly felt self conscious about this decision before he gulped and continued.
"Do.. Do you know anything about someone called the carpenters?" The room grew heavy suddenly, instilling fear into Kaminari's core. Eric slowly set the papers down and stared at his soul. Mura grew quiet and looked at them, waiting for the conversation that would ensue.
"Where did you learn that?" Eric said with a commanding tone.
"I learned it from what I guess was a trade? They shot at us so we assumed they weren't good people and they were aliens so we figured we could have asked you." He explained to Eric, who seemed to grow more and more irritated or impatient.
"Why? Why would you do that? Don't you humans have laws against vigilantism?" He asked. Kaminari shamelessly nodded. He sighed, seemingly calming down.
"I know this is an interesting thing for you. With the Omnitrix and all. But you did something illegal, you know that right? You broke galactic code in trying to stop that trade, even if the carpenters aren't the most… savory folks." Eric scolded him.
"But, someone has to stop them! Where are they? Do you guys have pros?" Kaminari asked. Eric seemed frozen and lost in thought. His face turned solemn before he answered.
"Not anymore kid. They're gone." Kaminari looked at him with bewilderment.
"Gone!? What do you mean gone? What happened to them?" He asked.
"They disbanded, kid. Thought they weren't needed anymore. Which is sadly why the Carpenters came… They're like a mafia here in Undertown. Occasionally we have to pay taxes to them or sell what they want us to sell. Get on their bad side and you're gone." Eric explained. Kaminari gulped at the thought.
"So they basically control the entire town huh? Have it under their iron fist?" He questioned.
"I guess so." Eric replied with concern.
"Well, maybe you can help. Where can I stop them?" Kaminari asked Eric. He looked hesitant for a moment before sighing.
"No, I don't. But I might know where you could get some info. Your Kinercelan friends might know someone who works for them, since they play sports in the main part of town." Eric mentioned. Kaminari nodded as he looked down and dialed in XLR8 once more. Luckily, this time it gave him the raptor. He stood up and looked at Eric.
"Thanks for the info." He thanked before turning around to Mura, giving her a smile before running out to the field from where he played his football game.
And maybe he'll have time to play one short game if they are there.
…
It didn't take him long to reach where the football field was, given his super speed now. He heard some form of commotion coming from the field as he approached so he dipped behind a building and peered over the side to see what was going on.
One of the first things he noticed was that they didn't have the raggy ball, but rather some run down looking hockey puck and sticks. He didn't understand how one could play hockey with a normal puck but he assumed some alien business was going on.
Secondly, he didn't recognize two of them. Both were between him and the others, and they seemed to be mocking them. They wore dirty beanies and seemed to wear similarly conditioned clothing. If he had to guess, they weren't on the best of terms with the others.
"Come on, just give us the batteries. We weren't bothering you." Nate pleaded with them. The two laughed as they held up what Kaminari believed was the batteries to the puck. Maybe that was why they were able to use it on normal ground. Maybe it had one of those fan things that causes it to hover on the ground.
Or maybe it's actually hovering, he didn't know. Alien tech was weird.
"Well, maybe if you said pretty please, we will." One taunted them, holding the batteries up high so they couldn't grab it. Kaminari growled at it. He moved against his better judgement and leapt forward with speed. He managed to grab the batteries as the two weren't aware of his presence at that point. Luckily, XLR8 had good stopping ability so he didn't barge though the line of his comrades.
"What? Who are you?" The two yelled at him. Kaminari looked at his friends, who seemed to instantly gather who he was from his Omnitrix. He handed Emily the batteries and looked at the two with a smile.
"I'm just some new resident. Sorry if I didn't know how this game of hockey worked." He snarked with a grin. The two looked at each other and grinned.
"So a newcomer eh? What's your name?" One asked.
"XLR8."
"Wait, how is that a name? I don't see how someone would name their child after that.." One of them said, Katie laughed.
"Don't think too hard, Anthony. You might burn that beanie." She mocked. Anthony growled at her from her insult. He brought his fist back to jab at her, but Kaminari managed to barely catch his hand before he could. The two stared at him with shock before their anger was deflected towards him.
"So… you think you're a wise guy huh? Protecting this little thing? Do you know who we are?" Kaminari gulped, he didn't intend to get their ire, but to just keep Katie from not being hit.
Although he had a sneaky suspicion he knew where this was going.
"No, I don't. Care to inform me?" He played on. He hoped his guess was right, and that these two knew something he wanted to know. Maybe he could agitate them just enough for what he needs.
"We're carpenters! If we want, you'll be gone tomorrow-" Anthony didn't get to finish before Kaminari wiped his tail at him and knocked him down. His friend looked at him shocked before Kaminari swiped under his legs with his tail, tripping him.
"Hey, thanks for the info. But I kinda need a little more. Are you two willing to tell me anything?" Kaminari questioned the two as they got up. They growled at him and raced forward. They both tried hitting him with his claws but Kaminari barely had the ability to dodge them. They seemed surprised at this before they managed to land a few blows on Kaminari. He tumbled back and cracked his neck to see if he could dull the pain a little.
"How are you this fast.. You look younger.." The other thug mumbled. Kaminari gave no time before he rushed forward and whipped around and hit both of them with his tail. They stumbled back and Kaminari pushed forward, wrapping his arms around the two.
He looked at the building that was opposite of them and an idea formed.
Well, this is going to hurt.
He ran forward as fast as he could with his two passengers and at the last moment, he threw them at the wall but he didn't manage to stop himself before he collided as well. The wall seemed to rumble as the three fell down. Kaminari sat up as he held his head.
"Ok… I'm going to feel that tomorrow." He groaned, holding his head for an incoming headache. He looked down at his victims and stood above them after stumbling for a bit. He looked down at the unnamed one as he slowly began to move. Kaminari placed his foot on him to keep him down and looked down on him, ignoring the vertigo.
"What's your name?" Kaminari asked.
"Ughh, Trey." He groaned.
"You said you were a part of the Carpenters. Mind telling me where they might be?" He asked. Trey looked up at him and his eyes narrowed.
"Why?" He growled.
"Well, I just gave you and your friend the smackdown so maybe that's a clue." He reasoned.
"Pfft. Like I would tell you." Trey laughed. Kaminari was about to come up with a witty reply before his friends circled around him, all holding their hockey sticks in a less playful manner. Trey's face lost all animosity and confidence at the team up between all of them.
"I uh…" Trey started before Kaminari smirked.
"Guess you might wanna tell me where I could find them huh?" He pointed out. Trey gulped and sighed.
"I don't know where their hideout is… All I know is that some Arachnichimp stopped their import of batteries." Kaminari smirked as the others looked at him, catching the drift of what actually happened.
"And where would those batteries go?" He asked.
"The power plant. They were going to use the Megawatts to charge them. They were going to charge them in a couple hours." Kaminari nodded and looked among his friends, who pointed in a direction simultaneously. He nodded and took his foot off Trey, who made no attempt to run or fight back.
"You're going after the Carpenters? You're dumber than I thought, watch kid." Katie commented.
"Yeah. I flunked my homework most likely." He shamelessly admitted. They chuckled at his antics and looked him over.
"The lightning bolt looks weird." Emily admitted. Kaminari subconsciously touched his helmet before shaking his head, popping his visor down.
"Thanks guys. We'll have to play a game sometime." He promised to them, where they nodded. He dashed forward, running towards the direction they pointed for him.
The power plant didn't look significant to Kaminari as he drew closer. It was a simple metal door in the wall of the cave, fitted with no locks or anything of the sort. There wasn't even a way to see on the other side with something such as bars or a simple window.
He expected at least some pipes or something. Maybe a few wires here and there. It looked rather average for anything. He made his way to the handle until he remembered he was supposed to do this with his friends. He looked around to see if he could see them or hear them, but to no avail.
Well, he was still XLR8 so it couldn't hurt to look.
He bolted down the streets, and scoured down the roads. He tried to look for Kirishima's spikey hair but there was a good amount of aliens with red parts so they really messed him up.
Well, he should just ask someone if they had seen him.
He stopped in front of someone, an alien with blue skin and an assortment of dark spots. They were startled at first but calmed down with his form.
"Hey, mind if I ask you a question?" He asked them.
"Sure. What do you need?" They asked him back.
"Have you seen two humans here? One with red hair and one with a strange smile?" He mentally hoped that would be enough, as those were really their main defining traits to him. They were silent for a second before something seemed to spark in their head.
"Yeah! They headed towards the Planchaküle's scrapyard. I pray for them…" They said solemnly.
"Where could I find them?" He asked. The alien pointed away in the opposite direction. Kaminari nodded and bolted away, leaving them in the dust.
He ran down the streets, watching as life seemed to lessen and lessen until there were empty houses lining the streets, with pieces of metal laying on the ground.
He looked at the ground for one second to look at what looked to be a somewhat complete metal battle duck and collided with the two. They collapsed on the ground but Kaminari managed to stay up right.
It was only one second!
"Oww… felt like a train hit us- Oh, it's Kaminari." Kirishima groaned. The two sat back up and looked at their blue raptor friend.
"Hi."
"Did you get any info on them?" Sero asked as he rubbed his forehead.
"Yeah, those things me and Kirishima got are batteries, and they were going to bring them to the power plant for something. Also, they aren't good people." Kaminari quickly explained.
"Yeah, we got around the same info as well… although your's was probably better." Sero mentioned, and it left Kirishima shivering.
"So much.. Chaos. How did you deal with it a second time?" Kirishima asked Sero, to which he shrugged.
"To be honest, after a while they start to really rub off you." He admitted. Kirishima looked at him with bewilderment and Kaminari was really confused. At this point he was curious and wanted to see what was the issue.
"Well, I guess we should find this power plant. Where is it?" Kirishima asked. Kaminari turned and pointed. He looked back at them with a smile.
"I can take you guys there in a-" The Omnitrix had other ideas as it started to beep. He looked down and slumped his shoulders as the red flash turned him back to Kaminari.
"Really? A time out now?" He complained.
"Well, I guess we can walk like normal humans." Sero said sarcastically. Kaminari groaned as the trio started their trip to their destination.
…
No one seemed to question them as they made their way to the power plant. Luckily for Kaminari, it was just long enough for the Omnitrix to recharge back to full power.
So if they need it, he can go alien.
"That looks… plain." Sero commented on the door. Kaminari chuckled and nodded. They looked back at each other and went to the door, which of course was locked. Which might be an issue. He looked down at the omnitrix and dialed in Ampfibian. His tendrils probably will be useful here.
After the yellow flash, Kaminari began to try to see if he could find a crack or something to insert his tendril through. Since he didn't have any bones, he figured it might be ok for him to at least attempt to slide them through any cracks but he didn't prevail.
"Maybe shock it?" Kirishima said. Kaminari looked back at him with a confused expression and Sero did as well. Kirishima looked at them and raised his hands in defense.
"Hey, it's just a thought!" He defended himself. Kaminari looked back at the door and figured there wasn't anything better he could try. He placed his four tendrils on the door and began to release electricity onto the door. It started small but slowly grew in intensity, coating more of the door and himself. Sero and Kirishima took a step back from him as he began to glow more and more.
Meanwhile with Kaminari, he doesn't even know how much he was producing. He never was able to do this with his quirk, since he would have short circuited out most likely by this point. He leaned more into the door, releasing more and more electricity as a result. Eventually his vision began to become clouded with blue sparks.
"Come on…" He mumbled to himself, leaning more and more into the door. It grew into the point where he was leaning completely onto the door itself, his face pressed onto it's metal.
"Hey, maybe we should wait for a new alien Kaminari, I don't think Ampfibian was the right choice here." Sero called out to him. Kaminari slightly turned back to look at him before he answered.
"Yeah, you're probably right-" He was interrupted by the fact he seemed to start to sink into the door. He barely had time to react before he sunk through the door and onto the other side. He fell onto the ground in shock. He looked around in the barely lit room and stood in astonishment. He looked at the door, which was started to get banged on by Kirishima and Sero from the other side. He looked at the assortment of locks that adorned the edges of it and one by one, he unlocked them with a blank mind.
He didn't expect that to happen. He opened the door to his friends and they stared at each other for a bit.
"Ampfibian can walk through walls." Kirishima concluded.
"He can indeed." Kaminari replied. The trio turned to the rest of the room and looked around, taking note of the crates that were scattered around, the miscellaneous pipes and wires that traveled from a stairwell across from them into the walls around them, most likely to be delivered throughout Undertown. They made their way down those steps, into the dimly lit below. The sound of buzzing started to gradually grow, and the light began to grow also. As they progressed, a new sound started to rise.
A low chatter, but it was too staticy and quick for them to process what they were saying.
When they got to the bottom of the stairs, they were greeted by a large cylindrical room, with machines, panels and crates lining the around the room. In the center was a large mechanical container, where the top held the pipes and wires that ran upstairs. The center was a bright yellow, and inside was a weird sight.
There were small looking beings, with black and yellow bodies. They moved around with electric sparks and the chatter they heard had originated from them. A few stopped to look at them and they made faces at them and blew raspberries.
"I guess they are sensible, uh.. Aliens?" Kirishima guessed.
"They look like batteries." Kaminari stated. The two looked at him with tired expressions.
"Thanks Sherlock. I didn't see that." Sero sarcastically told him. Turning their attention away from the living batteries, they noticed an abnormal device connected to the cylinder. It looked newer compared to the rest of the room and had a small slot in it, where something was missing. Sero walked over and picked it up. He looked it over and looked into the slot.
"This looks like a charger, although I'm not sure." He theorized. That description prompted Kaminari to go over and look at it himself.
"I think this is what the batteries would have gone too. It looks to be around the same shape." He commented on it. He placed his tendril on the top of the slot, feeling a small ambient charge. He nodded at them and placed it down.
"So they were going to bring those batteries here and for what?" Kirishima asked.
"They were for us!" A voice rang out. The trio turned behind them and saw a group of five standing there, with blasters pointed at them.
"Oh hi! We are the inspectors and you guys aren't up to code. Gonna have to revoke your license guys." Kaminari quickly quipped. The group seemed angered and their guns made whirring sounds as they lit up.
"You three got 5 seconds to explain yourselves before we riddle you with holes." The middle one threatened. The trio looked at each other with worried faces. At least Sero and Kaminari did.
"We were just concerned citizens and we wanted to see what was going on." Sero quickly fabricated a lie. The five looked at them before they looked at Kaminari.
"An Amperi? What are you doing on this side of the universe? Better yet, what's with that lousy washer badge on your face?" One questioned him. Kaminari subconsciously touched his Omnitrix and thought about that statement.
Well, he assumes Amperi is the name of Amfibian's species and is probably from some very far off world with that wording, but this was the second time he was called a washer. Did he look like a cleaner? And what did the Omnitrix have to do with this?
Did people just hate hygiene?
"Well I just got lost." Kaminari replied. They looked at him and smirked.
"Well, why don't we just bring you back there?" They all pointed their weapons at him and his heart sank.
Oh no.
"Watch out!" Kirishima tackled Kaminari into the ground as the beams of light started to fly over their heads and Sero ducked behind a control panel. The shots scorched the walls in small balck rings or bounced off the field keeping the small battery aliens in the chamber. Kirishima and Kaminari crawled slowly towards where Sero was taking cover from the barrage. They sat together as the chaos ran overhead.
"Ok, think you could do the ghost power thing, Kaminari?" Kirishima yelled over the fire.
"I don't know how I did it! Plus it looks like it takes too long for me to do it! I'll get shot before I can activate it." He complained loudly. The two looked at him.
"Then shock them!" They yelled in unison. Kaminari was quiet before nodding. He slightly glanced over the side and looked at the general location of the thugs. He returned to his position and carefully placed his tendril on the side. Good thing he didn't have bones currently or this would hurt.
He channeled electricity through it, and sent it as a rolling wave towards the direction of the thugs. Blue lighting illuminated the room as the firing stopped abruptly. After Kaminari stopped sending his electricity and the light died down, they all glanced over the edge.
The five thugs were all lying on the ground, with small wisps of smoke wafting off of them. They cautiously walked over to the bodies and examined them. Luckily, it seemed like they're still alive so they were happy about that.
"Well, we got that down.. What now?" Kaminari asked them. Sero was silent but Kirishima leaned down and picked up one of the blasters. He looked it over and grabbed the top center of the blaster. After hardening, he pulled it out. In his hands, was a small cylinder with a yellow interior.
"I have a suspicion I know what those batteries were for." Kirishima guessed. Kaminari looked at it, and nodded. Looked like the same battery they saw earlier.
"Well, maybe. Why don't we go find out where these originated from?" Sero asked. Kaminari and Kirishima looked at him.
"Why?" Kirishima asked. Sero shrugged.
"I mean, we probably could cripple their weapon supply if they don't have the tools to power them." He reasoned, looking at the battery. He reached his hand out, and Kirishima passed it to him, allowing him to look at it with greater detail.
"Maybe Emmett and Lathrop know where it came from." He said as he pocketed it.
"Sure. But maybe we should get back home and wait a bit. I don't know how they'll react when they learn they won't have any fresh ammo for a while." Kirishima explained with concern. The two nodded.
"Well, let's hope they'll enjoy a couple of teenagers ruining everything." Kaminari joked. The aliens behind them laughed maniacally at his joke, and he pointed at them with his tendrils.
"Hey, thanks!" He commented. They flashed him a thumbs up along with a wide grin.
"But we should also take the charger too, right?" Kirishima asked. They turned to it sitting on the ground, having been dropped when they were being shot at.
"Yeah… I'll take that too." Sero replied.
Sorry this chapter took a little longer to post, I decided to take two weeks to do this mainly to avoid burnout and to plan more for the story and the aliens.
